Loved Living Here CHAN
I have currently been living @ Forest Cove apartments for a year. Im @ the end of my lease and don't want to leave my apartment. I TRULY LOVED LIVING HERE. MANAGEMENT WAS WONDERFUL. MAINTENANCE WAS ALWAYS FAST AND PRODUCTIVE. OFFICE STAFF COURTEOUS. THE REASON I'M MOVING IS DUE TO THE SIZE OF MY APARTMENT AND THE PARKING. I SOMETIMES WORK LATE EVENINGS AND THE PARKING IS BAD. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE STAFF AT ALL. NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. OH YEAH LOVE THE CABINETS. I HAVEN'T FOUND NICER CABINTS NO WHERE I'VE LOOKED. IF I DON'T FIND ANYTHING WITHIN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS I WILL RENEW MY LEASE.

Crooks!
I was going to lease there but when I saw all that mold in the apartment that was shown to me, plus the CRAZY extra deposit they wanted me to put down, I changed my mind about this place (I had no problems with other properties as far as extra deposit) They wouldn't give me my deposit back. Claiming that I had 48 hours to get it back...something that they NEVER mention and "clain" is on the application. I had to call them about my app. and after being told how much my additional deposit would be (S_-_-_-_-A)told me to take a few days and think about it. But did not mention that I would loose my deposit in those fews days. These are some CROOKS. The staff is not professional at all! Bad attitudes! They have a moisture (mold/mildew)problem through out the property thats why there are so many vacant buildings. I wouldn't recommend waisting your time to looking at these apartments. Yes the front gate looks nice but thats it!

Best in area- Great staff- But the area just isn't safe
IMO this is the absolute nicest community in the area. There are gunshots from the apartments on either sides late at night. My apartment is nice, the rent is affordable, lots of children, tennis court for them to play in, gated, maintenance has been very responsive. Bad side- locked out of my apartment one night and the office forgot to switch the phones to the answering service which meant there was no 24 hour emergency maintenance to help me. My tires have been slashed 2 times. A month ago all 4 were slashed, this morning one was slashed. The police said over 60 vehicles were slashed overnight. We had an old security guard that was a bit overweight, but had a gun and drove around constantly in the golf cart and kept us safe. The newer guy who is a skinny racist punk hides at night. This is why 60 plus cars were vandalized under his watch. The front gate only works half the time. And a 57 year old woman was killed over her purse while walking home from a job where she was a nurse about a week ago in the apartments next door (deerfield). People are robbed, killed, assaulted and worse out here every day. They haven't found the killer. If you are a single parent I would think twice before moving here. It is however the best community around by far. Most of the violence and crime are in the surrounding apartments.

Affordable Place its what I expected.
I have lived in this community for two years. I figured this was a good location thats cheap so I can save money for a house. The staff is always nice. There's never any trash outside, always clean. From what I have read it just seems like people get mad at the apts when they don't pay their rent. Considering what area we are in these apts are your best bet. What more can you ask for cheap rent and a nice place to stay. Pay your rent on time and you have no worries. I think most problems in this area come from the other community down the street.

Stay away!!!
This is a horrible place to live. When they turned over the apartment it was really dirty. The office staff is incompetent and improfessional. The maintenance staff isn't any better. No one is respectful. If you just want to have a peaceful life, don't come here!!!

Awesome Customer Service
I LOVE Forest Cove Apartments! I have lived here for 2 years and have never had such a pleasurable experience. I looked at several floor plans before choosing mine and was pleasantly surprised at how nice each one of the apartments looked. The woman that showed me my apartment seemed very interested in finding the perfect home for me and listened to each of my requests. Prior to visiting Forest Cove I looked at about 11 or 12 different apartment complexes and knew right away when I walked in the door that this would be the place that I would choose to live just because of the way that each of the office staff treated me. The other places I visited didn t really care about me ..in fact one place I went the lady took 2 personal phone calls on her cell phone while I looked around the model. Forest Cove showed me the actual apartment that I was going to move in to the day I went to visit them. I am 64 and I have lived in several apartments through out the years and hope to be staying at Forest Cove for a number of years. The maintenance people have come a few times to fix a few minor things in my apartment and the one thing that I was SO amazed at was how fast and professional they were. In fact one time they were at my apartment fixing my air conditioner within 20 minutes of my calling in my problem. I am so happy here that I have referred several of my friends and co-workers to move here and in doing so Forest Cove took money off of my rent each time that I did. I hope that the office staff is going to be here a very long time as they have a positive attitude and a genuine since of what Community means. I would recommend Forest Cove Apartments to anyone reading this!!

affordable and comfortable!
I've lived in forest cove for the past two years and it has been a comfortable experience. The location and easy access to the highway is superb for fast commuting to work. My apartment is just the right size and anytime I've had a maintenance problem the friendly office management has been quick to send someone over. The maintenace men are very respectful and are constantly seen cleaning the property to keep it in top shape. There is no doubt that I will release my apartment when my contract expires. I highly recommend forest cove for its great apartments, affordability, and location.

Alert! Alert! Proceed With Great Caution: Beware of SlumLords!!!!!
Please don't be fooled by the size of the apartments!! Look at the ceiling and the walls corners closely, they are cracking and the foundation is terrible. The floorboards are uneven and my bed leans on one side than the other. Take your shoes off and walk on the floors in the bedrooms where its most noticeable before buying. We live upstairs and we can hear our neighbors under us through the floor! I didn't think it was possible for that. Our light bill be 400 and 500 dollars a month and I can can on two hands how many time we turned on the A/C unit, and I unplug electronics from the outlet when not in use, don't leave lights on in unoccupied rooms etc. All this precautions and still outrageous bill because of no insulation in the walls in these Old, Falling Apart apts. The apartment are big but no where for storage! I'm in the military so I have a couple of tough boxes and other equipment with no where to put them. I have lived here with my sister for over 6 months and now we want out. I have maintenance issues and the only ones that get fixed are the ones that requires little time and very little effort. While maintenance guys are nice the office worker are liars. Every time I went in to the office to put in a maintenance request I was told there was no need to put in a written one. The female clerk wrote down my apt. number and the issue some book. Since when I had a couple of minor problems like bugs and they were fixed I thought that was there standard operating procedure. So when I notice mold building up on my ceiling I went the same route I did with the other request services. I gave them plenty of time (weeks) to come in and fix it, it didn't happen. This happen several times and I finally sent my sister to put in the request because she is way more aggressive than me. I thought that angle would work but it didn't. Now this ongoing battle been happen over several months. Me and my sister are very busy people and we try to give plenty of time which is easy considering we forget for awhile and don't think until our company notices it and remind us. We tried the written latter of maintenance request approach...can you imagine what happened? Finally my we said enough and look through our contract to see an way out of this unhealthy hell-hold. I have allergies and migraines which have been off the chart and I didn't know why. I then remember that mold release spores in the air and can affect your your health. It confirmed it was time to go. I sent a certified letter requesting to be release from our apartments and was DENIED! On the ground that they Never Received our maintenance request letters; how convenient... I know my rights and I know the clause in the lease that state Owner Responsibility and we are getting out of here!! I hired a attorney, I got our documentations, pictures and a video, I'm ready to go file a claim in the small courts. The actions of Forest Cover Management are deceitful and if you don't have to waste money on court fees and a lawyer one day (if you can afford one) DON'T MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!!

Forest Crap Apartments
How can I even begin? When I first moved here, I made the mistake of only visiting in the daytime. It looks like a nice place to live on the surface. The price is reasonable, they offer security, and make a point to tell you that they are part of Lincoln Property Company (which is the company that owns The Village downtown) and they are very meticulous on who they allow to live at Forest Cove. Well, was I ever surprised after I moved in... My second night there, I was terrified alone in my room because I could hear yelling and objects being thrown in the apartment below me. I was often subjected to not only their yelling, but every couple of weeks, I would be woken up to music at 5 in the MORNING. On the weekends, they played music so loudly that I could feel my floor vibrating beneath me. Now why didn't I ask them kindly to turn it down? Well, I did the first morning I was woken up. But did I mention that I am a white girl that moved into THE ------ without realizing it? I was scared to death that if I reported anyone I would become a target. Not only are my floors paper-thin, so are my walls. I can hear people yelling through my bedroom walls, and I can hear the people yelling across the hall. It's a great way to start my day, let me tell you. The people that live in this neighborhood are not only creepy, they are careless. Whenever there is a junk mail day, it is sure to be strewn all over the landscaping. The "Sparkling Pools" that are advertised on signage along the drive through the complex is really just a bunch of broken glass from the busted windows in the apartments that for some reason have never been leased in the 18 months I have lived here. Every now and then, I see cars marked "Dallas Parole Officer" or "Gang Unit" parked in my complex. The security gates and guards are a joke; really anyone can get in if you wait long enough. I would not be surprised if there were drug deals going on every night. The guards just roam around in their golf carts and just let people go by without saying a word. The stone entryway holding the gate has been busted to rubble 3 times in one year, and it always takes management at least a couple months to fix it. Now, the management is another story. When I moved in, my microwave keypad was busted. It took my management 4 months to replace my microwave, and I would call them at least once a week. Also, when the maintenance men installed my microwave, they knocked down one of my potted plants. Most of the management seem nice, but there is one man that has got a stick up his bum. When I had lived there only a week, I called the office to see if they would accept a UPS delivery on my behalf (UPS only delivers when I work). He then proceeded to YELL at me, saying there are Rules that must be Followed. It was quite insulting, since these Rules were not explained to me when I moved in. Recently when I gave my notice to leave Forest Crap, the same manager called me up to bully me into telling him why I would ever want to leave this fantastic place. He then offered me half off my rent if I renewed a 12 month lease. You know they are desperate when they offer such a low price. Truthfully, I would not renew my lease even if they offered to pay me to stay there. So, hopefully I have offered a bit of useful wisdom to whomever stumbles upon this review. I would most definitely not ever live here unless you are comfortable feeling like someone is going to shoot you in the back every time you walk up the stairs at night.

Very Welcoming
After shopping around for apartments and dealing with many leasing agents, I truly thought that the management and staff at Forest Cove was one of the nicest and most welcoming I've met. The apartments looked very clean and neat. Definitely looking forward to living there!

Nice !!
I just move to Dallas and the community location is great, very convenient and affordable. My apartment is very nice, with updated kitchen and bathroom cabinetry and fairly new appliances. So far my residency here had been a pleasant one and I certainly recommend the apartments.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'm VERY VERY concerned about them not informing the residents of murders being committed on the property. We were notified of 1 murder last year of a guy that they found dead inside of his apartment but the murders in broad daylight is kind of scary & we should be notified. I always knew it was some kind of embezzelment going on here b/c the maintenance men will try to put cash in their pockets before making a work order & complaining to Lincoln Property regional manager Darnell Harris will do you no good. He is more unprofessional than the office staff. One day I went into the office to complain & the asst manager Greg was sitting @ his desk with 2 bottles of wine in plain view. Not to mention they towed all three of my cars in 1 night wihtout any notices or letters being given to the residents, it cost me 444.00 2 get my cars back. Also, there was an animal crawling into my vents around 3 or 4am every morning screaming down, I'm a single woman & I was so scared I had to leave my apartment until the issue was resolved about 1 month later. They claim there is 24hr maintenance but they wouldn't call someone to find out what type of animal was crawling into my vents @ night. THIS PLACE IS ONLY FIT IF U R RUNNING A TRAP.

Hovel in the ------
I have lived in Forest Cove apartments for over 2 years. There have been 3 people killed here in broad daylight. Plus, they throw in this random water bill that has no way of verification. The water bill for 1 person in a 2 bedroom apartment is $50 a month. The management is -------- and has difficulty understanding advanced English concepts. You can hear everyone outside your apartment because there is ZERO insulation in the walls.

Just say no
Signed lease contract and paid all that was needed before i moved in. On the move-in date, I arrived at the office for my keys only to hear one of the staffs say they were closed even though they had future and current residents in the office. Came back the following day and they gave me an apartment different from the one I chose and this one hadn't been cleaned since the last person moved out. We went to four different units before finding one comparable to the one I chose upon signing the lease. Huge complex with one laundry facility and most of the 12 washers and dryers do not work. Sure looks nice from the outside but don't make the mistake i did!!!!!!!. And if you happen to try it, just sign for 6 months and decide after.

In my entire life I have never called 911 as much as I have called since "living" here. This isn't living. I should be getting combat pay from the army for what I have to endure. <br><br>There are drugs being sold out of my building. The drug dealers are always breaking out the outside lights so that they can do business without glaring lights on them. <br><br>------. Real, real ------. I'm black and I think that there are way too many black people living here. I think a lot of them are New Orleans hurricane refugees. It's like one big Superdome! <br><br>You can play "Where's Waldo" by trying to find the two white people that live here. <br><br>I can't stand it. Too many gold teeth. Too many drugs. Too many baby's mommas. Too ------. <br><br>I'm almost used to the car alarms being set off by loud car stereos. The garbage truck, as loud and powereful as it is, doesn't set off car alarms in the parking lot. But, some gold tooth, pants saggin' felon with no job has the nerve to spend a few grand on a stereo with a massive subwoofer so that he can drive extra slow through the parking lot and thrill us all with the vibrations and the noise. I would like to see the police do finger print and DNA sampling of every resident. I think that 50% of the unsolved crimes in the DFW area could be solved with a sweep through Forest Cove now known as Trinity Palms.<br><br><br><br>Also, I was at home one night on the phone while a police helicopter with a big light flew overhead for about 40 minutes!!!!!! I could hear the helicopter and see the light run across my window. They must of shot at a cop. There were about seven police cars at the exit gate. <br><br>The only way to fix this roach motel is to add a police substation to every building! <br><br>

they riuned my life pretty much..if you are white god help you
First of all I wasnt at all familliar with the neighborhood and all the trash, rape ,crime that surrounds it. So I signed the 6 month lease and it was by far the biggest mistake of my life. I have a nice car and got in an accident where it had a med-large dent in the door. So when I get up and walk to my car in the mourning it was gone because management called to have it towed away becasue it made the property look bad. What a joke there were two broken down lincolns and a broke down cadillac in the same row as me, besides that if you ever go around that area there is no way in the worls you could make it look worse than it is. But of coarse tow me jackasses...cost me $250 to get it out. They tow their own residents...what the heck. Its ok because I ---- on their front doorstep to the lease center and at the same time had to avoid the cops show helicopters running the high beam through the complex. Yes I got robed, yes you go down to the grocery store and people just cut in line, yes you go to to ANY gas station around there and there is a ----- stalking you for 50 cents to catch the bus. I know know why the rapper calls himself 50 cent...it baffled me coming out of the store, bank, gas station and all these ------ want 50 cents., yes there are africans selling these ugly braclets on the corner for a dollar. Just dont live there! management couldnt stand on one foot and put their finger on their nose at the same time.

WANT APT BROKEN IN TO, CAR STOLEN , DRUGS AND HOOKERS !! RENT HERE. WE'LL SCREW YOU OVER SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO
This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. Besides rowdy neighbors beating each other up in the parking lot , people smoking dope outside while their kids are playing, hookers walking up and down Forest lane. This place is terrible! My ac was also out for a month and when maintenance came to fix it he tried to smell my feet, what a gross perverted man. My car was also stolen and all the lady at the office said was oh that's never happened here..LIAR!! Then my car was towed for the inspection being out for 3 days. Now the apts have 70% of Hurricane Katrina victims living there it has gotten even worse. These people are Liars, the fitness room has never been opened nor the dirty black algae infested pool. They did send out a letter that we had to pay $25 for the gate key Mandatory by all resident's. They still don't work. The security at the font, NEVER THERE. Those cameras are there for show only nobody monitors them. This place is a total rip off. THIS PLACE DEFFINITELY DOES NOT ROCK...ROY

AC out for nearly a month
My air conditioner was out for at least a month. After spending at least $500 in hotel fees, I could not get anyone from management or their corporate office to contact me concerning reimbursement for several weeks. When I finally reached someone, they did not seem concerned. I will move out as soon as my lease expires and not recommend this place to anyone moving to the area.

it is trully a wolf in sheeps clothing
I KNOW this place is bad because i recently just left. To be a business, there is nothing business like about these people. i have seem them pull in a maintainence man to do the front office work! hint, hint he knows nothing about what he is doing just a yes ma'am and yes sir person. i had a missed months rent because they lost the check and then tried to charge me double for it. then after their mistake, i was still going to try to work it out with them and do a payment plan for THEIR mistake and the manager and un knowledgeable staff wouldn't budge. and all this is after it took them 3 whole ----IN MONTHS to tell me the payment was not there. they are magicians with paperwork because i personally had to start paying for maintainence out of pocket because it was inadequate or either not done. my ----in toilet seat wasnt even bolted down when i first moved in and when they finally came to do something about it, it was 5 weeks later and all they did was caulk it to the floor and was all ----ed up. it was trully a nightmare. made me want to go back to the state i came from. and from the suck up that said the gates would work is a lie. its been 6 months since i had moved in and it still wasn't working. and they most definately took the money for the key pad though.

Florida, James, J.J., Thelma, Michael, and you too Wilona!
This is the most pathetic experience I have ever had. First of all, the staff changes every week, you never talk to the same person, you can hear your neighbors coming and going, and whatever other "activities" that may be going on. especially if you live downstairs, it gets annoying...Basically this place is just ------. Don't believe the hype or the cheap rent. YOUR GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Forget about calling the maintenance men, they'll just break into your apartment and take everything but the paint off the walls, and even those have cracks in them. Yep, I said <br>it! When the novel "Things fall apart" was written, obviously he was talking about these apartments. I shouldn't have to hear loud running water when my neigbor takes a bath, nor do I need to hear my neighbor screwing his girlfriend, it's loud enough to wake you out of a deep sleep. Thank God, I am finally gettin out out this hell hole! My advice to others, STAY AWAY FROM FOREST COVE AND NEARBY FOREST CLUB , YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS! However, if you like the 'hood and enjoy people putting dings and scratches on your car then by all means stay here. But if you have good sense, some integrity about yourself, and you respect other people and their property, GO ELSEWHERE! For your own good and safety! Oh! and you hear the dallas police sirens every 30 mins. And where in hell are all these africans coming from?<br><br>

Lots of Problems
I have lived here for the past year and when i moved in the gates were to be working in a matter of weeks. After 25 dollars for a tag to open the gates they have yet to be closed. They always say they are working on it my friend moved in a year before me and told her the same thing so two years later those new gates still dont ever close. I have peddlers walking around all day also had a concret block thrown threw my window. Management is always changing have to tell my story three different time to three different people to get stuff done. Took them three day to come look at my a.c. in the middle of summer my apartment was in the 90's for your money its a nice apartment with new stuff but a lot of work to get what your are promised no one is in the office when you need them. they are either out back smoking a cig. or hiding in the bathroom with the doors locked.
