Great Place to Live!!!! Love the staff, Love maintnance!!!!
My husband and I just moved out recently because of my husbands job. I already regret moving. The Savoy staff really knows how to take care of its residents! They are so nice and always have a smile on their faces. If you move here, get to know the staff well! They are always willing to help you out and maintenance gets things done. It may take a few days, but it does get done. If you notice, there have not been any reviews in the past few years, which is a good thing, because people only review when they have bad things to say. I am only giving a good review because my new apartment complex sucks and I now appreciate the Savoy so much more! Neighbors are friendly, and a lot have lived there for 20 years or more. My mom and I lived there for 3 1/2 when I was in high school. My husband lived there for 2 1/2 years, then we moved back there together when we married for another 2 1/2 more years, and we would still be there if it weren't for my husbands job. Rent is cheap, location is good, apartments are well kept up with, most of the apartments have brand new appliances (ours had all new matching appliances, so you better get there quick to check it out!) 5 OUT OF 5 STARS!!

All good things must come to an end
My wife and I have lived at the Savoy for some time now. We've seen both neighbors and management come and go, along with a change of hands as far as ownership. When we initially moved in we could look across the street and see open fields; now, nothing but houses piled in on top of more houses. The pros of living at the Savoy basically revolves around the rent, and the apartment itself. Our rent has only gone up slightly since we moved in, and the apartment is fairly roomy, and reasonably well-maintenanced when we have an issue. At one time the owners used to offer "upgrades" to the apartment, but since the new management came along, those are no longer offered. Also, all the shopping and restaurants you would ever need along with Lake Benbrook are all within about a 3-5 mile radius. Finally, Southwest and North Crowley High Schools are five minutes away, as well as are JPS Elementary and Crowley Middle School. The cons of living at the Savoy are (1) the convoluted water bills that handed out every month; it's like Forrest Gump: you never know what you're going to get; (2) security is pretty lax, so on any given day or night one could have their car broken into, and basically the owner of the car is screwed; (3) although the apartments are roomy, they're also built quite inexpensively, if you know what I mean. Moreover, the owner is not even remotely willing to consider improving the quality of the structures; (4) since moving here the quality of the tenets has slowly gone downhill. Although the maintenance guys try to keep up with all the newly acquired riff-raff, it is fairly clear that the inner-city has moved out to the Savoy, along with their "you owe me something" way of life. It's been a good place to live for the most part. But, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. So, as much as we have enjoyed living here, the cons are starting to get too far ahead of the pros of staying, and we are in the process of looking for another place to call home.

Pretty nice place to live
Since the most recent ratings came from last year, I decided I would write a more up-to-date one. The management has recently changed and everyone in the office is both very friendly and helpful. Maintenance is also extremely nice and tend to get most things done when asked. The property is usually well-kept and parking is usually readily available right in front of your apartment. The only problems we have experienced while staying here is that there have been many recent car break-ins, mine being one of them. The easiest way to avoid this is to keep absolutely everything of value (including any stereos where the face plate comes off) outside of the car... Sometimes, though, that is not option. The "gym" is very small and only one piece of equipment within actually works (it's a treadmill). The hot tub doesn't work but has somewhat been converted into a sort of kiddie pool. There is also a small problem with residents and non-residents from surrounding subdivisions dumping trash and furniture around the dumpsters instead of inside of them. However, maintenance is usually quick to clean up the problem. Overall, living here has been great and I don't regret spending the past year here. We have just signed a new lease and hope to have as enjoyable of an experience as we have had here in the past.

Gone Downhill Fast!
The management is extremely lazy. I've been complaining on my neighbors for months now, to no effect. Tenants have also complained about the surrounding suburbs dumping their garbage and furniture in our dumpsters. Nothing was done. They hardly respond to any noise complaint at all! My neighbors and I have called the police out 3 times recently for the noise! Complex is not gated! It's a huge problem! Every kid and lowlife in the neighborhood are over here swimming and playing basketball! There are kids running around cursing 24 hours a day. There's a laundry facility, but it's trashed every day! There's a deposit for dish. A deposit for pets. A $100 late fee on rent! 2 month move-out notice, which is ridiculous! Be careful with the management when moving in, they have a bad habit of refusing to show you the apartment (which is against Texas law). The only plus is the maintenance, they are the best and very nice! So, If you have anything to be fixed, find them before you go to the management! I'll be moving when my lease is up.

Pretty sweet...
I figured negative is the main motivation for people writing reviews so I figured I'd throw my 2 cents in for The Savoy being a good place but it looks like most people agree with me. Great management, responsive maintenance, and reasonable rates... nuf said.

It has some problems, but it is better than most complexes.
On the positive side, the complex is being remodeled and the current maintenance staff is very friendly and professional. The floorplans are nice, and there is plenty of storage space. On the negative side, it sometimes takes the office personnel a long time to get things done and the neighborhood is not the safest. There have been some problems with petty thefts.

Great Complex
My husband and I loved the apartment complex. We never had any problems with the maintenance or any problems with the residents. The area is pretty safe and the complex is pretty quiet. I love the management.

nice place to live
The Savoy is a nice quite place to raise a family. As a single father with daughters the other residents and the staff make you feel welcome. It offers a safe place for children to play, a basketball court, playground, and a pool. you get to know the other people in the complex and it is like one big happy family.....

A Sad Day for Non Smokers
It seems that non smokers do not have the right to not smell the smoke from a neighboring appartment.
Not only is this a health threat especially to someone with Chronic Asthma as myself, but a health threat from second hand smoke and a higher risk of cancer.
The managment defends the rights of the smoker to smoke in their appartment and simply says that they can not do anything about the infiltration of smoke into my appartment. They refuse to let me out of my lease and refuse to do anything to stop the infiltration of smoke.
