Don't move here!!
If you see Beacon Hill keep driving! I moved there two years ago and everything was going okay for a while then i saw a scorpion outside of my apartment and freaked out! Then a few months later found another one inside my house! I remember seeing some staining on the roof like their had maybe been some water damage before but thought nothing of it. Some water did eventually leak from upstairs once and it was fixed so I thought nothing of it. The next year everything went okay until one day I was awakened and heard this roaring sound. I thought maybe the complex was on fire! I opened my bedroom door and water was pouring from the kitchen ceiling fan! That was supposedly fixed? The next weekend I went out for a shopping day and came back and opened the front door and water was gushing from the roof again. Some of the ceiling even crashed down! It was a mess! A few weeks later mold was growing everywhere! After that it was over!! I had to get out of there fassst!!

Didn't make the mistake...
...of even considering this place. My boyfriend and I visited Beacon Hill and viewed the "model" apartment this past weekend while apartment hunting. My first clue was while driving in: there were several colorful vehicles and residents (I assume), including one car that was painted with fleur-de-lis all on the sides. Another clue was walking into the manager's office, and seeing one of the chairs was missing its roller ball foot. Had to sit in it very carefully and not move if I didn't want to get pitched out. It's also not a good sign when you walk in and the model apartment, the apartment that is supposed to appeal to potential renters, reeks of cigarette smoke. The appliances were outdated, the apartment itself was cramped and dingy, and even the furnishings (which I know shouldn't matter) were tacky. There was a huge brown recluse next to a dead spider in the bath tub which, according to the other reviews, is to be expected from most of the apartments there. The woman who showed the apartment was friendly, but not very informative and didn't really appear to know what she was doing. As I never actually lived in these apartments, I can't give an accurate review of what it's like to live there, but I'm sharing my first impressions. I would NEVER consider this place. LR has many more options - that seem safer, cleaner, and less bug-infested.

AVOID BEACON HILL OF SCORPIONS
You can choose where to be stung by SCORPIONS, in your bed room, living room, kitchen or bathroom, SCORPIONS are every where. The place is infested with insects and the people who run it, do not give a damn. I had a remodeled apt, but do not be fooled by remodeled apartment , it is a make up on the dead body. When I went there to their office for the first time, I was told I could sign a lease for 6 months, and I paid the required deposit. But when I went there to sign the lease, the manager said they would not do any lease less than a year, and if I do not want to sign a year lease, I would not get my deposit back, so they trap you right there. . The manage is a very sneaky woman, you have to watch. From day one, the water heater was leaking, the heat did not work, and I had to keep the oven on to keep the place warm, till eventually the fixed it. in the Summer time , the cold air did not work, and the A/C was blowing warm air, eventually the fixed it. The whole time I was there, every time I took a shower, some sort of black stuff was coming out of the cracks between the walls over the bath tub. finally I found another place and ran. even thought I paid all my dues, they came up with bunch on none sense charges to avoid paying back my deposit. I felt sorry for myself for spending some time there. Last word, AVOID BEACON HELL OF INSECTS...

Do not live here!
The apartments are not too bad - a little old. Ours was rather dirty when we moved in. There are some scary people living there but there are normal people too. It is rather expensive. The management is crazy! People in the office are mean, nasty, cold, and on power trips. We followed every rule, were never late with the rent and they treated us like dirt. No person should be treated like this.

Terrible place
I looked at these apartments recently on a weekend. The person in the office clearly had no idea what she was doing. The apartments are in a bad place of town, just driving in the parking lot through various thugs standing next to their cars is enough to cause concern for anyone. As I was leaving the property office a tenant asked me in the parking lot if I was planning on moving into Beacon Hill. When I said yes he went on to tell me about the cars being broken into all the time, and incompetent management. I only looked at this place, I would never leave in this cesspool.

Can't wait to get out...
Ever since my roommate and I moved into this god-forsaken craphole of an apartment we have regretted it. Our first summer here, we were overrun by insects of all shapes and sizes, including spiders, millipedes, centipedes, ants, and yes, scorpions! Once the winter hit, the bug infestation subsided, but the other problems did not. Our toilet would constantly clog and overflow for no reason and the maintenance people refused to fix it on a weekend, even though we only have a one-bathroom apartment. Also, our washing machine started to spatter grease on our clothing. We put in four work orders and nothing was done until I got my lawyer involved. The manager even had the nerve to accuse me of putting grease in the washer! The noise level, will not terrible most of the time, can get outrageous. I have some neighbors who are constantly screaming at the top of their lungs. Not to mention the freaking "security" gate. It hardly ever works correctly. One, it's not a security gate if it's open from 8am to 6pm. Two, when the gate does open, cars behind you sneak through after you. Three, my keycard stops working randomly and my name disappears from the callbox, which means I cannot even get into my freaking apartment when I get home from work. This place is a joke and, by far, one of worst places in which I've ever lived. I'll be so happy to move out in a few months.

Invisiable leaks
Me and my Mother have lived at Beacon Hill for almost a year and about the third month of living here we discovered a major leak in the small closet that holds the water heater.
We called the handy man and about 3 days later he show up to tell us he can't see where there was a leak even though the water was dripping down from the ceiling right in front of us, about two days later me and my mom went to the office to tell them we were moving, it took about 10 minutes for the handy man to go up stars and fix the leak. Thats all he should have done in the first place about a week before. Needless to say we are leaving as soon as our lease is up. It's not worth the $.

GREAT!
I'm not sure if something has changed at Beacon Hill over the years, but I've lived there for about a year and I have no complaints at all. Sure, there are bugs here and there, but that's what happens when you live on a bottom floor apartment. Sure, you can hear movements above you. Just ask for a top-level apartment. Overall, I have not one complaint. The management is professional (they don't HAVE to be nice...) and get things done in a timely manner. The gate is closed about 85% of the time after 8 pm, which is just fine with me. If I wouldn't have bought my home, I would continue to live here!

Make homelessness attractive!
I came across this site and remembered how much I hated living in "beacon hell". At that time management was a crazy -----! Terrible and overpriced. Dangerous too! Many cars were broken into.

Running water, through your living room
I lived at Beacon Hill while in school and I too witnessed the joy-riding adolescent on the golf cart. By witness I mean I almost witnessed the kid on the hood of my car. I had constant difficulty w/ Deborah. I have read most of the reviews and agree w/ all except the obviously manufactured ones as I made several friends in the complex and all were of like opinion. I contemplated if this maltreatment may have been a ploy to have us break there "lease agreement" that traps you there-which I eventually sucumbed to breaking as the place is in managorial hell. They can not keep help in the front office and could NEVER keep a maintanence man. It was a horrible experience, not to mention the Papa John's delivery man who was beaten to death in winter 2003 was murdered across the streat-that gate stops no one. Horrible and unsafe. My friends car was burglarized on multiple occasions.

Don't Live Here!!!!!!!!!
I previously lived at Beacon Hill for 10 long horrible months. The second month I was there someones water heater on the third floor busted and all the water ended up in my first floor apartment. It ruined everything I owned. The ceiling in my apartment looked awful. It hung down two whole feet. I had to put screws in it to keep it from sagging. It was never fixed the entire time I lived there. I was never compensated for any of the damages. However they did have my carpet cleaned. Two months after that I had someones noodles from upstairs come up through my drain which was located in my living room closet. My carpet once again was ruined. They didnt clean it that time. The manager Deba, was always very rude and acted like it was my fault that these things had happened. I could have saved alot of frustration by never living there!

I don't think there is a Maintenance Crew!
I have also had a problem getting a washing machine.Debra has told me 3 different dates that it would be put in. I've been very patient. I also don't understand why she is always so rude to me. She has absolutely no customer service skills. Her boss should really find someone new to manage this complex.

" Manager Gets Thrown Off Golf Car By Son!"
I too was amazed to see the young child "joy riding" in the company golf car! However, I did get a good laugh out of seeing him press on the accelerator too quickly and her flying off of it! I agree the manager here is crazy! Not to mention rude!

I have NEVER, nor would I EVER live here!
A relative of mine lived here not long ago. "Bob" asked not to be identified, as well as several neighbors who fear retribution from the management. I am complying with that request.
We were occasional visitors at this complex during "Bob's" stay here and were able to witness many of the complaints listed on this site. Let me just start with the parking situation. It was very hard to find a parking spot that didn't require the use of hiking boots! There are a couple of steep hills here as well, and I myself have seen quite a few tires slipping on the streets during wet weather. Just like other tenents on this site, "Bob" also complained about the pest problem that was never resolved. I don't believe that I've read anyone's comments on the tarantula problem. According to "Bob", they're fairly common around these apartments! Those are just a few of the problems "Bob" experienced here. Some of his neighbors had much worse problems to deal with, and the management was of little or no help. I had to wait for a significant amount of time to pass before "Bob" would let me post this review. "Bob" doesn't want to be remembered by anyone of the management team, and sadly, some of "Bob's" old neighbors are still living at Beacon Hill so I cannot post their complaints, either. When I asked them why, they nearly all said the same thing: that the management would be able to identify them based on their complaints, and would make living here very hard for them. However, I don't live here, nor will I ever, so I am not afraid to speak the truth. If I were you, I would look elsewhere for a decent and safe environment to reside in. Thank you for your time, and happy apartment hunting!
(Just a side note for the management: I will not be reporting the years that "Bob" lived here.)

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
This is by far the worst experience with a company that I have ever had. I just moved into this community three days ago and have experienced such horrible customer service that I felt compelled to warn others. The gate, so frequently mentioned here, didn't work for me either or rather my card didn't work. Even the staff member I was to call to let me in (in the advent my card still didn't work) didn't answer and I was unable to access the community I was paying rent to for three days (now going on 4). The staff seemed totally unconcerned that I was paying rent but unable to get into the community because of this situation. I was told it was a computer problem but they would give me another card, however, it seems incredulous to me that if a computer issue was at hand, how in the world would another card solve the problem? I was told, "we won't know until you try it." Perhaps I'm a little dense, but why in the world should I have to be the Ginnie Pig when the management should make sure a card works before they issue it? Then I was told that it was the magnetic strip on the card that was faulty (how they knew this since they haven't tested the card is interesting to me). It seems that I have been given the runaround and NO ONE has taken any responsibility for my situation. I then spoke to their management company, who denied me information about the owners and were met with similar attitudes. On a positive note they have agreed to release me from my lease and I am certainly going to take them up on that offer. If you are looking for a home, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a bad experience, check out Beacon Hill Apartments. Thanks!

MOLD! MOLD! MOLD! MOLD! MOLD! MOLD! MOLD!
Yes people disgusting MOLD! Does anyone know what MOLD can do to your health? And, my bathroom cabinet has been falling off the wall since I moved in. Not mention some tenants here get rent compensation and free dinners for water damage while the rest of us get nothing. That doesn't seem like "Fair Housing" to me. And yes, we do have a FHA in this state!

Falsely tampering with apartment ratings
I suggest no one pay any attention to the reviews submitted by snowbird0911@aol.com and julietta0911@aol.com. They are obviously the same person and work for Beacon Hill Apartments. It´s sad when someone has to lie to improve their apartment ratings.

My sister lived here for six months. I was a regular visitor (since I also live in Little Rock in a better place than these apartments) and I agree with the other raters of this property.

My sister had a bug problem with ants and a couple other insects. When complaining to management she got a lukewarm response and pest control only came one time while she was living there. The problem was never fixed.

She also had a problem with a pipe or something behind her dish washer (it leaked water onto the floor) and that went several weeks before it was fixed properly.

She complained to me constantly about these problems, also talking about how the staff was never helpful or friendly when she went into the office to talk to them. They only cared about her rent check.

I convinced her to get out and she is now happily settled in Turtle Creek. Go there if you want people to be nice to you.
question for pathetic
I have lived at Beacon Hill going on 5 years and have had the same manager the whole time, The grounds are always clean and the managers are the nicest people and have always greeted me and taken care of everything I have ever ask and I have never had to wait. I have lived other places but wouldn´t move for anything until I buy a house. I have read some of these replys and I have to wonder why someone that was so miserable lived here for 3 years, thats a long time to be so miserable, why stay so long? In defense of where I still live I wouldn´t live anywhere else and am blessed to have the managers I have now, I could have gotten some of the ones at the other places I have lived and then my friend you WOULD have something to complain about.

To Jullietta0911@aol.com, Are your pants on fire?
Jullietta, I read your response to my review of Beacon Hill Apartments and I was perplexed to say the least. You say that you´ve only had one manager the five years you´ve been there? Are we talking about Beacon Hill Apartments at 1801 Reservoir Road? Because if we are, then you, my friend, are a liar. There were several managers who came and went the three years I was there. As far as moving is concerned, I´m not a rich woman so I couldn´t just up and move to another apartment in Little Rock. At the time I lived at Beacon Hill, my rent was $430/month. In comparison to other apartments in Little Rock, this rent is fairly cheap, unfortunately I got what I paid for. But, I guess if I were paid to live there, as you MUST be, I wouldn´t complain either.

A word in behalf of management
First of all I want to say that 4 out of the eight opinions were made by the same person. On water, water, well what you don´t know is that the friend that he stayed with while his apartment was being repaired was the one that flooded him out by leaving his faucetts running and overflowing his bathtub..shouldn´t he be mad at his friend verses the management and is angry because his friend was billed for damages. As far as a gate system, it has never been a system designed for security but rather for traffic control, if you leave something out unattended, trust me there will be someone that will want it and that is in every neighborhood and in every part of the world. What is so amazing about all of this is that it is expected that there should never be problems and weather you own a home or rent nothing will always be perfect but we try our best to make it as close as we can. We can not please every single person and most people that are not pleased are the ones that generally do not follow proceedure to begin with. What these people do not tell you is the condition they left their apartments in when they did move and if that was part of this site I´m sure they would be embarressed. Hats off to the Beacon Hill staff, I think they are great after 20 years in this business when you see a good one it´s worth talking about.
