balance on a move out
Make sure to get verification from the office on balances being removed. They will get you if they call you and inform you of a charge being removed. GET IT IN WRITING! Just a friendly reminder to all tenants that plan on moving. Good luck.

La Privada: Not so Private, Certainly not Luxury
La Privada A not so private or nice complex You can expect exoprbanenet security deposits and fees to apply and secure a unit. Upon getting your unit you’ll be wildly disappointed at the landlord specialesque paint, cleaning, and appliances. A combination of “working” appliances cobbled together from different units for one “working” unit. Your coax and internet cables are old, unable to support anything over 50MPBS and of the 4 coax plugs in my unit, only 1 was connected. Enjoy your 2004 internet speeds. Roaches are common from the drains and they only spray for bugs if requested. The windows have no seals and cracks between doors ensuring you will have 300$+ energy bills in the summer Water pipes break constantly and repairs never hold, water is shut down at least once a month for “repairs” leaving entire buildings to figure out their water. Main pool and side pool will be closed at minimum twice a month. Hot tub is never hot and often closed. In the summer the pool has inadequate cooling and maintains a water temp of a balmy 84 degrees or more. The gates are generally broken and were for over 1.5 years of our stay. The side gates that should be key access are constantly propped or have the locks punched out. Rocks are stacked against walls so people can hop the fence back and forth. Had to have police come out at minimum 3 times for people smoking fentanyl next to my car port (3 am gate was wide open), my car being burglarized (gate wide open) and family of an employee leaving their malnourished dogs in the pool area unattended and abandoned. This is 1.2 miles from one of the largest police stations in Scottsdale. Paying for Scottsdale safety and getting Phoenix experience. Mold is apparent in the toilet water supply backs, under sinks, in the floors. Our water heater had been leaking since before we moved in and rotted out the floor was not replaced until I had to say something. Proceeded to leave molded insulation and cut out a small portion, replacing with plywood. Water pressure is a joke and is incredibly hard, gumming up any chance of a decent flowing shower. Claim to have HOA commitments but allow long term residents to have broken down cars, packrat storage on their patios and balconies, animals off leash. Management team has changed a number of times in 2 years and maintenance as well. Any solid maintenance workers have come and gone due to being given run arounds on a reviews for a bonus program (this is unethical and immoral) 2800 security deposit plus first months rent and a number of fees allotted to roughly 4000 in move in costs. Upon move out they intend to hang on to over half of it. Absolute joke of a property old outdated and dingy, look literally anywhere else.

Grateful for your response, but we have tried that route.
We have put in maintenance requests, and written letters. After our last one, the individual in charge, told us that we could move out if we wanted to. We actually enjoy living here. So much is good. We believe our "asks" are reasonable; It seemed pointless to pursue.

Great maintenance
I had two different maintenance calls recently with 2 different maintenance personnel. Both were excellent and very efficient. Always very friendly and do outstanding work. Love to see both James and Marco about the property Always happy. Makes living here great!

Kudos to 2 outstanding employees
I have lived here for 4 years and have been thru several management changes. The current management is doing the best job. And there are a few employees that are outstanding! Sara at the front desk is SO friendly and helpful. She is really an asset to this management. I hope she stays as she goes out of her way to help with anything. Marco in maintenance is another outstanding employee! Always friendly and does exceptional work. He painted the trim around my door and left me the nicest note and a bag of popcorn. I showed all my neighbors. He also was one of the staff that installed a microwave for me and made sure the door could open and that it worked properly. I so appreciated having someone who values the integrity of their work. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Do not live here!!
La Privada Apartment Homes in Scottsdale, Arizona is the last place you want to live if you are in need of an apartment. Although it sits in beautiful Scottsdale, and convenient to everything, it is awful! The maintenance response time is taking over a month, emergency or not, and that's if you are lucky. There is zero communication or response from the management team here, and they are truly a joke. When I moved here back in 2021, before Greystar took over, it was a great place to live in the area. There was a strong management team, who were very responsive, and all maintenance needs we taken care of within 48 hours. There was a sense of community, and there we events, and food. trucks brought in for the residents to enjoy. Since Greystar took over, there has been none of that, and the community conditions continue to deteriorate day by day. Beyond our other needs, we found cockroaches in our kitchen now. We asked for an immediate response and exterminator, but there has been no response to that request as well. Look everywhere but here in the area, and think twice before you pick a Greystar community!!

No
The new management is awful. They take forever to address any issues. Gym air conditioning was out for two weeks. Close early without warning. Staff is rude. Never answer their phone. The complex is awful and dirty now. Dog poop everywhere. No bags to pick it up. Tree limbs all over.

Terrible. I had to move my parents out of the complex because of a lack of regard for their safety and comfort. The staff did not care when they brought up security concerns in and around the apartments and the facilities (pool and gym). The staff was slow (weeks at a time) to even respond to maintenance requests. I would move out of the city before I had any of my friends or family live here again.

I rented here for a year and wish someone had warned me! I lived in a 2br 2ba and the rooms do NOT cool down whatsoever with my electricity bills being over $300! The hot tub was always broken, and you have to pay HOA minimum $40-$80 a month. Rent was $1300 but always paid minimum $1430 with all the hidden fees including ------ parking. The old brick walls literally hold onto heat in the summer so you literally have to sleeep in the living room. This place sucks never again

Since I moved here I have had a great experience! The staff is so nice and friendly not to mention very accommodating. Upon arrival my unit was cleaned and Alexis and Danika ensured that if we needed anything that they are just a call away to assist. I highly recommend this complex it is clean and not too many people live here. It's very quiet too! :-)

Two weeks ago I had put a work order in to have my drain declog and the office still hasn't sent anyone out to fix it yet . My upstairs neighbors washing machine return water drains into my bathroom sink leaving dirty black water , debris , and a foul oder in it . So when I had seen the head mantince man and told him about the issue he assured me that --- was supposed to take care of that days ago . Well I don't like --- and --- doesn't like me . So I'm all most certain he threw my work order away . --- is a worthless piece of s*** who I don't allow to fix nothing in my apt !!! The three times he attempted to fix something when I initially moved here , the office had to send somebody back out to redo his work each time . So anytime I have a maintenance problem I make sure to tell the office , Do Not Send --- !!! --- is a bull s*** mother f***** who has a tendency of talking to people like they are complete idiots . At the beginning of summer I had a roach infestation problem , not the little roaches but the big brown one's that dumb --- --- tried to convince me were coming up through the drains . I put his stupid --- out my apt and went right to Home Depot and bought a $3 can of foam and sealed every crack in here and haven't seen a roach since . So their ain't no misunderstanding about who I'm talking about , --- is a -------------------------------------------------------------- , ------------------------------------------------------------- .. Most people post reviews after they move out , I'm posting mines while I still live here . F*** --- , ain't nobody scare of his ------- --- !!!

Pros: Huge apartment, quiet and centrally located, if you love brick style house the interior is perfect for you. Cons: Management/Leasing Office: They're unorganized. They always misplaced paperwork, so make sure to document all your transactions with them. " clueless" they don't know what they're doing. You don't feel welcome, if you're a new tenant they will treat you special but once you're in, they will treat you like you're bothering them. especially when you talk to the assistant manager"kristen". The leasing office only take check or card. They do have a website for tenants to check their bills and to make a maintenance report but its a BIG JOKE! not user friendly plus it needs some work. You can't pay online either so pretty much a lot of hassle. Maintenance- even though the maintenance personnel are friendly, the time of service is worst. Expect to wait more than 2 days for you to things done. And if you complain of something they will just tell you " that its normal". they should hire more people to accommodate the needs of the complex especially with the amount of rent we pay and for the "old" building they have. plus they should hire people who are knowledgeable but maintenance issues. Amenities- the website says its"a gated community" yes it is if they issue clicker or remote for tenants. the gates are wide open from 7am to 7pm. Plus its too dark at night, no post lights. When you ask for a gate remote they will answer you with " we don't have any yet" seriously?!. its been 6 months . Electricity and Water- We never had cold water in our bathroom yet we do have cold water in our kitchen sink. I did a maintenance report about it and they just told me" we are in arizona that's normal". Ive lived in different states in my entire life and I never had $450 electricity bill, just in this place when I asked them to check our AC or any other appliances like stove, heater etc. They just look at me and told me its normal since we are on the second floor. Thats -------- I have a house in El Paso and never in my life I paid more than $200, plus our neighbors with the same floor and same sq ft never go beyond $300 with their AC temperature below 80. They just keep on telling me to get used to it or its normal. Thats --------, they don't care about the renters. I can't wait to leave this apartment complex. Its not worth it, Save yourself look somewhere else

This place doesn't deserve a star at all but since google wont allow me to do so, ill give them one star.My family & I have been living here for over a year and we had a very bad experience with the Management, the staff working in the leasing office is extremely rude and not at all helpful. We had issues with our A/C and had to call the management for 2 week before it got fixed. For all the new tenants who are planning to move in or going to move in :- The leasing office will speak very highly about the property, show you a beautiful unit , get you to pay deposit and once you get into this property you are "trapped". We gave them a month notice, after we moved out Kristin sent us a long bill over $1500 for carpet replacement, painting, door knob replacement. We left the unit in a great condition, infact paid $250 to the carpet cleaners and yet we got a bill from them.We called them up for proof and they sent us pictures, there was a few spot but it was removable spots yet she refuse to negotiate the amount. Kristin is extremely rude and she say's if we do not pay she will send it to collection agency. They are a bully and don't dream to get your deposit back. I have never experienced such horrible management and will never recommend this property to anyone. WORST. This is a ------ place with horrible management.

Attractive complex with large apartments... some hidden negatives however. Plus: * Great location * Large apartments * Newly renovated. Nice appliances and flooring * Beautiful property with lots of mature landscaping * Maintenance responds when requested Negatives: * Bedrooms DO NOT COOL. Several individuals have posted this and I should have listened. When I reported to maintenance they said its just the layout, they don't tell you in advance because obviously this is a huge turn off for the property. I have to sleep in the living room most nights all summer. * They charge you extra to park under essentially a piece of tin. And not because of demand. Over 1/2 of the covered spots are available by my building but I can't use them unless I pay extra each month. Many other misc "fees" they add on top of the rent. Just be sure to understand because the rent alone can be misleading. * Called a "gated community" however even when the gates are working the front gate is left wide open when there is someone in the office. That is all day everyday. No way they would know if a shady character came through that gate. I still think its a safe area, but don't come in thinking its secure because its really not. Note that the gates haven't been working properly for 6 of the 12 months I've lived here. * Not tech savvy / friendly. I like to pay online. There is a portal but you can't set it up for reoccurring payments in full so you still have to go in and try to calculate what you owe with your utilities and make a monthly payment. Plus they charge a service fee for online payments. About 10 years behind what every other utility and financial institution I deal with offers in the electronic payment space. Utility balance doesn't show up online until after the payment is due so you have to find some postcard that was received 2 weeks previous to figure out the total due. HUGE HASSLE and not very user friendly.

I've liver here for 3 years, plus...Been through 3 mangement companies..This last one the worst! Impossible to get anything fixed! I think there has been no landscaping for at least 3-4 weeks - weeds and fallen trees everywhere - dead grass. Dog poop everywhere. Yet they still expect their rent on time or else huge penalty! $1300.00 a month-2 bdrm-living with 30 year old kitchen/bathrm cabinets, old linoleum that's ripped, carpet ripped. They will not update while I'm living there..they keep on asking if I want to relocate to a different "upgraded" unit. Even the upgraded units still have linoleum in kitchen and bathrms and crappy shag carpet throughout the rest...NOT worth the money when down the street its granite and nice tile and nice carpet. Will wait out 1 more year till I move back east. Looking at the rest of these reviews - their occupancy rate is going to go downhill fast...Oh and no dual pane windows-no insulation what-so-ever. Expect your electric bills if you're living upstairs to reach $275-$300...Was very, very nice - but not anymore - would not recommend at all

I have lived here for 4 years now. The new management company is horrible. This place looks like a dump. No lawn care, weeds are over a foot tall. No one trims the bushes at all anymore. The bugs are deep in all of the light fixtures in the carports. I walk my dogs and have tree branches on the ground stabbing into my skin on my feet. No one is cleaning up after the storms. This place looks like trash. This is the worse management company that we have had over the past few years. We had a GREAT landscaping company this past year. NOT any more. The office people sit at their desks all day long and dont even get out to see what the property looks like. They are worthless people. This complex may offer large apartments but it really isn't worth it!

Read all the recent reviews!! This is normal for this management company AMC that just took over. If you go on their corporate website you will see that this unprofessional way of running business is common on most of their complexes.

I am doing a follow up review of La Privada apartments. The complex has been bought out and is now run by a new company called AMC Manangement company. Since this takeover in the last 3 weeks this apartment complex has gone down the dumps-- literally!!! Their has been no landscaping done in the past 3 weeks and the grounds look awful which are now being infested with bees, wasps, rats and other creatures. The garbage bins are overflowing with garbage and since there is no placed to put garbage bags it is piling up which now we have a major coyote infestation whom are feeding in the area. Their is dog poop everywhere you walk since I guess residents living here feel why bother picking up after my dog since the place looks like such CRAP which for the people who do pick up after their dogs like my self is driving us all nuts because it's disgusting. Complaints to the new management personal have gone on deaf ears. I would not recommend renting at this complex at all and would also not rent at a place that is run by AMC Management Company. The residents at this complex pay a lot of money for apartments and we should not have to live in "A DUMP" because that what it looks like.

I've lived here for a year in a Townhouse, and I'm quite impressed with the level of care and commitment the management and staff have demonstrated to ensure a quality living community experience. I appreciate the staff member Louie for his professionalism and his steadfast leadership in providing a quality service, and swift problem-solving manner in addressing everything timely. The staff are polite and attentive to your concerns, as well as the maintenance crew are responsible and courteous. At this time, I would definitely recommend La Privada Apartments for a quiet and friendly living community.

The continued struggle for a prolonged time to get anything fixed or fixed properly... The noise from the neighbors...as if they are in your apartment with you..hearing the sex moans from them at night...ugh..the car vandalism from spiteful sick people.. The guy that stands in his underwear with all the blinds open and waves to you if you even glance that way...the rats which are running wild now due to renovations...oh and If you ever thought about visiting India move here..you will find a huge population of Indian families and packed apartments with people who are cooking with curry..the electric bills are humongous.. I hold my breath when I get thàt bill..the bedrooms are bricked walls which are very Hot..and the noise which comes from the air conditioning units will make you feel you are losing your mind ..actually sleeping in the living room is what you essentially end up doing if you want any sleep..the positive if you can stand everything above is the neighborhood is very nice..but if you have any problems with anyone remember to put the police department on your speed dial because management doesn't help..they say call the police.. I told the truth...now its up to you not to get stuck like me..good luck!

I just signed my 4th yearly lease here and honestly, this is the most pleasent living experience I have encountered since I moved here from Michigan back in 2003! The amount of space within the apartment and the location is my two favorite parts about this place! My little girl goes to school right down the steet at laguna elementary so it is very convienient for us! We are surrounded by very lush landscaping, its not located on a busy main street so it is peaceful and very quiet here majority of the time. Plenty of great aminities to offer and they just remodled the gym here which is a major plus!! I highly recommend coming to see it for yourself, you'll love it here!
