Nice Ambience but Maintenance SUCKS and ARROGANT Admins

Just to be clear this is the appt community at Red Hawk Circle... My wife and I have been staying here Sept 2010 to present (July 2011) and we overall liked the appartment and layout of the community. We have a neighborhood who meet our kind of social and privacy norms.. Beyond that it SUCKS BIG TIME. - Excepting a couple of nice ladies, the people in the leasing office are arrogant, rude, disorganized and forgetful. They play the blame game and treat you like ---- - Elements of maintenance. Barring a few guys, the maintenance staff has the same attitude as the leasing office The community is NO LONGER A GATED COMMUNITY - the main gate is not working for the past three weeks We have had a problem with the water heater of both our bathrooms since we moved in and the issue has not gone away

Terrible Construction and Noise Issue

This is a review about MP ii apartments on Gallaudet Drive. I moved into the 2nd floor and was initially impressed by the floor plan and location. Within one week, I realized its severe shortcomings. It is an extremely old construction. The floor boards creak like crazy. If you are renting a 1st or 2nd floor unit, BE AWARE of this fact. The creaking with adults walking is unbearable. God save your soul if there are kids running on the floor above. Everything else is very cheaply made. The toilet in the master bedroom is so small, it is unusable (if you are a man, you will realize this!). The blinds are so cheap, if you lifted them a bit, they will literally snap in your hands. But, forget everything else. For the creaking alone, I would stay away from this place until they re-do the flooring on every unit. This is not a minor gripe but a major factor in your quality of stay here.

So we moved here in March. And yesterday I locked my master room ( on a Friday at 4:45 pm).I was really scared that we would have to have lot of issue for that and the turn around time would be slow coz of Friday but to my surprise a lady called Faith from the leasing office came right away and solved my issue in 15 min .I was really happy and impressed by the same.

Final settlement

I had issues with the management regarding final settlement. If you chose to stay here make first make sure you do a thorough move in inspection. Also before you move out make sure you request for a move out inspection while you are present. Else they are going to charge you heavy. I liked the apartment and stay was good, I had issue only with my final settlement.

Poor Mgmt and very ------

I only stayed there a year I could not wait until my lease was up. My move-in was a nightmare The Microwave did not work a closet door to washer/Dryer was broken and on the floor and there was a hole in the wall they promised all would be fixed before I moved-in and it took them three months after my move-in to start fixing any of it. They also have a dump area in the back parking lot were they have old appliances and junk sitting there for weeks its pretty embarrassing to have visitors over to view the dump. They also have a lot of non-operational cars parked in the parking lot and it really looks bad.

Its new but rude management and very less closet space

We stayed in the Mission Peaks apt. for abt. an year..Just because of the closet space we decided to move out. If you have small children its very difficult..Just one closet in bedroom and one small coat closet in living room. The kitchen is new but then you will have a laugh at how their cupboards are made. Half of the space in the kitchen I couldn't utilize. The management is rude. We have lived in so many places but this mgmt. doesn't seem to understand or even recognize ur problems. I cleaned the apt. before moving out. The inspection guy came and told me too clean it in the manner they wanted. I cleaned and the result: Most of our deposit was not returned. Lesson learnt.

Regardless if you clean the apartment completely THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $105.00 for the cleaning.. The maintenance guy said Just clean it with a little Pine Sol... Welp I did more then that and I got Charged.. HE also said to pick up and leave you will be charged $105... Pshhhh.. Advice just Pick up and leave.. Don't break your neck cleaning the place.. Also ---- Is so Cold Hearted. There is this a ------------------ working there.. She needs help on her speaking skills. She has no clue how to talk. They tried to pull a fast one on me.. But I caught it..

horrible management at BRE properties

Here are a few of the things that happened to us. 1. On the first day, we went to pick up the key. The stuff told us "BTW, we did not have time to clean up the carpet. We will do that after you move in."...Okey... 2. Two months after we moved in, the refrigerator broke down. It took them at least a whole week to replace it with an old one, with dents all over. They never even reversed the door. So it is a left hand refrigerator standing against a wall on its left. 3. A tree fell on top of our car last night in the parking lot. Even the strangers passing by showed sympathy. Nothing from the he apartment manager ----, only coldness. Are you thinking about moving into any of BRE properties? Think twice. Are you are shareholder of BRE property? Think again. A company that treats its clients like enemies is not a company with bright future, if any future at all.

i like it

I have no negative things to say about this apartment complex. It is true that the people in the office are rude.. EXCEPT for Melissa. But I do not know if she works there still. Its a safe complex as it is located across the street from the Fremont Police station. To the people complaining about noise, this is apartment living. If you do not like to deal with noise, please move or buy a home of your own.

Nothing special, but not a bad place to live

Nothing spectacular...a very mediocre place to live. Construction is not too old, not new by all means, but was clean. appliances could use some work, but no show stopper. pet friendly, and haven't seen too much feces on the grass areas, lots of kids running around, but walls seem well insulated. staff was ok, not the nicest, but not incompetant Pros: Close to the bart (<10 min walk), close to the nice park

EhHhHhHh.....

I just moved out of the complex and I will not be returning.. There are things that I liked about this apartment and things I did not like.. *Likes* *I did like that there was washer in the unit, that is always a plus. *I like the amount of square footage you got. *The pool was nice. *For the most part the ground were kept clean. *Clean (besides the dog pee and poop) -Dislikes- -They should have a designated dog area. You walk out of your apartment and you can smell dog pee and poop. Some people don't pick up the poop. -You absolutely can hear people on top of you. If you are to move here please move to the 3rd floor. You will regret the noise you hear. -Don't get an apartment next to the stairs. You can hear people walking up and down them. -The "security" gate. Pretty stupid that you can't just drive through but you can walk through. What is the point of a "security" gate. -The new Bart construction is a DRAG! -The -------- maintenance worker likes to cut corners and he stinks. -Cars are constantly being broken into where Gruardino street. But the people in the office will always make excuses and say well these people had stuff in their car. blah blah blah - All in all there are little better places out there....

Ignore the negative reviews.

If you're considering Mission Peaks, and are scared off by the negative reviews, consider that most people reviewing at this site only write reviews out of "revenge" for a negative experience, and by the sound of it, most of these negative experiences are either their own fault, being bitter they didn't get a free pony, or simply don't understand what apartment living involves. It's the most quiet apartment complex I've ever lived in. Mostly older professionals, never any loud parties. Does that mean you will NEVER hear ANY noise from neighboring apartments? Of course it doesn't, and no apartment can claim this. The units themselves have been recently renovated with brand new appliances and nice cabinets/counters/carpets. The washer and dryers are great, being a block from BART is great. The staff bends over backwards for me, and can be reached via e-mail, great for busy people. The gym is top-notch (they even offer fitness classes), as is the pool, and facilities guests can reserve for parties and such. Did I mention underground parking, and all of this for a very reasonable price? My favorite bogus negative review is probably the person who claimed it was an "unsafe location". It's literally across the street from the police station, with a gate. Perhaps this person had a private militia at their last apartment, complete with tanks and helicopters?

Pathetic management and leasing office personnel

I have been living here for 4 years and was happy but the leasing office management have suddenly become the worst people I have dealt with anywhere in the US which I experienced with my last renewal. BOTTOMLINE: DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING THEY SAY AT FACE VALUE- TAKE EVERYTHING IN WRITING AND MAKE SURE IT IS A SIGNED DOCUMENT AND STAMPED ETC GOOD ENOUGH TO BE HELD IN A COURT OF LAW. OTHERWISE YOU CAN BE SURE THAT THEY WILL CHANGE THE TERMS THAT YOU HAVE BEEN PROMISED. They went back on a lease renewal document they themselves typed up and had me sign (they had not signed on the document). Here's the story- it is confusing.. because they are TOTALLY DISORGANIZED AND CHAOTIC AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. I spoke to one of the leasing agents and she got the managers permission and confirmed to me that my rent would remain the same as last year but did not let me sign the lease asking me to come back saying she would have the lease ready. I called again and confirmed that my lease rent would remain the same. One week later the same leasing agent says that the rent will go up and she does refuses to acknowledge that she had confirmed the same rent to me implying that I am lying. I went into the office and another leasing agent made me sign the lease at last years rent. Later they call me and tell me that the lease I had signed was incorrect and that I needed to come in to sign another lease for a higher amount! Basically total chaos - they simply dont care about existing residents. AND the place is a BIG DUSTY MESS because of all the BART construction work. I had to renew as I could not move because I'm going to have a baby in a few days and they took full advantage of that.

Horrible place, incompetent management, SEVERE NOISE Issues

For the money you pay your stay here will not be pleasant. This is a truly truly bad place in terms of noise and managment. Yes the location next to the lake is good but it is impossible to get any sleep due to shoddy construction. Neigbors walking,using the bathroom, ALL CAN BE heard !!! Go figure !! I actually complained about the neigbors and the noise problem..and the manager ACTUALLY SENT out notices saying...construction is a problem..in this apartment complex so if your neighbors make noise.. PLEASE TURN ON MUSIC ........to drown the neighbors noise !!! And the MANAGER ACTUALLY TOLD ME THAT SHE WAS NOT EXPECTING ME TO RENEW MY LEASE. Its emotional harassment..And and employee named ------- yelled at me when I called to complain about the noise.... Please DO NOT MOVE HERE................The bad reviews are real.......and save your health and sanity because you will lose that along with your money if you move here

Just wanted to post this for MISSION PEAKS II (OWNED BY SAME COMPANY)

LET ME JUST START BY SAYING THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE APARTMENT COMPLEX NEXT DOOR TO THIS ONE MISSION PEAKS II (FORMERLY:SUN POINTE VILLAGE). I FELT THE NEED TO POST HERE AS WELL AS BECAUSE MOST OF THIS I HAVE HEARD FROM CURRENT RESIDENTS AT MISSION PEAKS, BUT DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT LOOK AT THEM MANY OTHERE REVIEWS. Most, if not all of these reviews are correct. Office staff changes very often. Don t count on the same person working there the next month. If you do happen to talk to a live body, don t count on them actually knowing anything. Seriously where do they find these people? They (BRE Properties, I presume) care way too much about the appearance of their complexes. There seems to be new landscaping projects every other week. Maintenance dose a half---- job. It gets fixed within an acceptable time period, but expect it to brake again & again. You have to go through a third party in order for the leasing office to send someone out. We don t have time to call 4-5 times to see when or if they are going to come. At least I know I don t. There are a few pro s rent has gone down a few hundred form when I first moved in but at the cost of rude & non mannered neighbors. Another pro I admit is the fact it s close to Bart & there is plenty of parking. Even with those Pro s the Con s do out weight the Pro s. Trust me I could go on & on. They are in a transition of changing the name from Sun Point Village to Mission Peaks II (Hmmmm wonder why?) LOOK OUT FOR MISSION PEAKS as well I have not heard any good from friends who live there either. (Could it be the fact that it is owned by the same company!!!)

great place if you enjoy constant noise, wasps in your apartment, and puke in the stairwells

We have been living here almost a year and have found it generally disappointing. Unfortunately we chose an apartment by the pool which in the summertime was extremely noisy. We had to call security almost every night to get them to go talk to the teenagers, etc partying out there in the middle of the night. We have also found that the walls are very thin and you can hear neighbors quite easily. In addition, the general grounds are often not kept up. There has been a pile of puke on our outer stairwell for at least the past 6 months and the tenant across the hall from us leaves cigarette butts in the hallway on a daily basis. In addition, on several occasions we have come home to find wasps in our apartment and discovered that there was a wasp nest on our roof. We asked that this be taken care of and essentially someone came and sprayed wasp spray, from our window, in the general direction of the roof. The wasp nest itself was never taken down because they said no one could get on the roof. Needless to say, the problem was not solved and we still come home some days to wasps in our house. We are finally now moving out and have been informed that they will keep a significant portion of our safety deposit for painting the place and cleaning the carpets. We asked whether this was due to any unusual wear and tear (there are no marks on the walls or spots on the carpets) and they said that no, this is just general policy and that all tenants are charged to paint the walls and clean the carpets when they move out (unless you have been here at least 3 years but I'm not sure why anyone would stay that long). We read some bad reviews of this place before we moved in and noticed that the turnover time here was quite fast and unfortunately we disregarded both, and are now paying the price. Given the number of apartments for rent in Fremont I would definitely recommend passing on this one.

mission peak is NOT RECOMENDED>................the women ,lisa, and all other management have a deal with the maintanance>..since they have acces to the master keeys > they can come in anytime >WHILE YOU ARE NOT AT HOME ! someone( LISA) broke into my apparrtment aND stole $5000. worth >>>LUCKILY MY AAA INSURANCE IS COVERING MY LOST. since there was no force entry. the police said it had to be an inside job............... PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE DONT RENT THERE YOU WILL BE SORRY. 2 OTHER CARS GOT BROKEN INTO . THE " GATED GARAGE" AT A DIFERENT TIME

Love this place

Hello, I was surprised when I saw all the negative reviews here... and I actually love this place -- living here for 2 years. I tried to look around this year when lease was ending, but did not find any better place for the same rent, so will continue to stay here. I have a 2nd floor unit facing the central gardens and the pool. The view is lovely from my balcony, I chose this unit after considerable thought. The floorplan is really well thought out, and the storage places are also very carefully designed to hold the max things. The apartment was renovated 2 years ago, and hence it looks and feels fresh like new. The construction was around in 99 i believe, so reasonably new anyway. The styling of the buildings is attractive. The living room is big enough for 3 sofas. I have only positive things to say about this place -- Highly Recommended -- but choose an apartment facing the green trees and lawns and the swimming pool for the best experience.

Just moved out of the apartment complex 12/08 after living here for about a year and a half. Cons: #1 Every time my husband takes a notice (USPS, FedEx, etc.) to pick up a package left in the office for us, ---- is too lazy to thoroughly look through the packages and insists that it has already been picked up. Apparently she is okay with giving packages away to people who come in without a notice and just state an apartment number. Every time we ask her to check again - she finds it. WTF? #2 The office is open 10-6 all weekdays but Wednesday. If you work normal business hours and NEED a package you can only pick it up until 7 on Wednesdays or on the weekend. Then, unfortunately you have to go through #1. #3 We had downstairs neighbors who moved in after us and installed a home theatre system. It was too loud. We complained about ten times (not kidding). Apparently management talked to them because it would be quite for a day and then it would pick up again. The last time we complained management insisted that there was nothing they could do and that we should involve the police. The neighbors finally moved out but we basically had to live with it. #4 If you are late on the rent by a day you will see a nasty notice on your door asking you to vacate the apartment. #5 They pretty much took all of our deposit when you move out, even if the place is left spotless. I cleaned all day on x-mas day and yet they deducted over $300 of my $400 deposit. #6 Parking for your second car is limited and those spots that are available are either occupied for long periods of time by the same car or taken by the time you get home (again if you work normal business hours). Pros: #1 The apartments are actually nice. #2 Close proximity to the park, BART, shopping and restaurants.

Totally not worth it.

Too many issues with this place. Its just your luck who you get upstairs. For almost 6 months we had to deal with horrible noisy people upstairs. We got sick and tired of complaining to the office. I also think its because the buildings are old and the floors are weak and thin. Too bad that now there is Bart construction going on right next to the complex and its only going to get worse. If you look at the map the Bart rail will run right next to the complex. The worst thing is that the management still keeps charging more rent irrespective of the increasing inconveniences. In the last 6 months many of the neighbors have moved out. Oh...BTW people rarely use the underground parking spots since they are a perfect spots for all the vandals to break into the cars. These are scary unprotected spots. Therefore all the open free spots are always occupied by the residents....none left for the guests :(

May be we were Lucky

I heard many complaints about this apartment community but we had an awesome time for the 1 year of our stay here, close to BART (walkable) & many other shopping malls. We stayed in the 3rd floor end unit, newly renovated with all new appliances. never had any problem with neighbours making noise or any disturbance. The view of the hills was awesome in both Winter & summer. Never had any problem finding parking spots for my guests. Never had any issues with the management. they collect our boxes, maintenance was good. Only the paint on the walls is not that good, you may make scratches even if u lean to the walls :), single coating paint i guess. Well we got 2/3 rds of our deposit back. Great apartments if u can get a 3rd floor end unit. I truely recommend Moved out becoz of upgrade to 2 bdrm which was 1900 here & no specials for existing residents willing to upgrade :-(

BAD PLACE TO LIVE!!! STAY AWAY!!!

The apartment is nice from the outside, make them sound like "luxurious" but guescs what, this is a ---- hole apartment, if you live on the bottom goodluck to you, you could hear tenant upstairs ceiling so thin, is like theres an elephant living above you...and also if you want peace and quiet, don't recommend this place....and for most..MANAGEMENT, specially the manager, I don't think she's educated enough to handle that position, we put a lot a complaint, but no action from her...she's not worth it! DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!

Terrible Management

I agree with many of the views there. Management is terrible. I moved to the place because of the present site and beautifying apartments w/ new color and remodeling. My first day of moving there was a nightmare. The tenant below my apartment yelled and cursed at my family on the day of first moving. I told the property manager about it and they told me to work it out with tenants. However, I paid a lot of money for the property and I expect more cooperation from the property management but I did not get any so I told the onsite manager that I will go up the ladder to top management if she did not take care of this micro-issue. Also I told her that if my accommodation was NOT to be re-arranged I would break the lease right before her. Due to the fact the tenants below were vERY incooperative and vicious to my family, I asked property management to transfer me to different apartment and she was NOT very willing until I told bluntly that my family would walk away without paying a dime to them and challenged her to the litigation. At the end, she transferred me to a different apartment with much inferior amenities but I did not mind. I am so happy that my lease was over and has moved to other property w/ better amenities and much cheaper and much more cooperative managements to my needs.
