They will rip you off
I have been renting at this place for
close to a year now. First the good
points of this apartment.

1. It looks sleek from outside. Its
exterior is nice.

Parking is simply horrendous. This apartment
has no steet parking close by and
parking inside the apartment is hard to find. I have had to park in neighbouring
apartment complexes for 1 year now.
( Windsor Ridge Staff actually encourage that !! )

The lady in the office is inefficient,
rude and unhelpful. There are many more
residents who would agree with me.

Now to the worst part. They want to rip
you off. My lease was expected to expire
in January. I asked for a renewal offer.
Instead they did not give me a renewal
letter, so that I would slide into Month
to Month at the same rate. However as soon
as the Apartment rates went up in June,
they sent me the renewal letter and bumped
up the rent by $300 . Clearly the way I
look at it is that they purposely did not
send me a renewal letter in Jan, because
they knew that rents were going to go up
later. This is downright cheating!

Pathetic!!
This one word succinctly describes the various facets of this property.
The customer service is downright rude. The wood work in the apartments is shoddy to say the least. The parking situation is horrible and the heating and cooling are defunct. Put all of them together and you get the perfect hell.
I have lived here of 12 months, so my experience are not based on one time occurrences but of events that reoccurred time and again.
The lady at the leasing office Ferzana is smug, would be least affected by your pleas of help. A friend of mine was late in his rent and mechanically on the 6th day they put a fine of $50, which no one in the world can convince them to take off. You can be in on time 11/12 time, but if they catch you late once time, Gotcha!! is all they have to say. This is just one of the way these folks go beyond their call of duty to NOT help you.
The parking spots are as hard to find as are the good thing in this apartment complex. Most complains invariably end with a shrug indicating the dismissability of their particular take on the subject. You will get a parking violation for parking your car, front outwards, has anyone heard of that!! Welcome to Windsor Ridge.
Posit the Woodwork: the drawers are rotting in the framework. This insures a thriving bio experiment in just a week on keeping food in them. Good luck on the science project. The same is the true about the bathrooms, where fresh laundry turns on to smelly moister laden heap in no time.
The purported heating vents are there to bilk you in heating bills, with no hint of heating (Summers will take care of that). And no matter how much you keep your crappy den clean they will take the entire deposit (hey, some ones gotta feed the kids).

THINK !!! management people just want to make money out of you.
JUST an OK place to live but not for long time. One of the staffs is very rude and very weird. She thinks she is very smart and always tries to make fun of what you say. Parking will also be a problem all the time if you have 2 or more cars. Last couple of months was very noisy due to their construction work.
One more thing, no matter what you do with the apartment, how clean you keep it .... don't expect to get your deposit back. They will charge for all sort of cleaning even though not required. If you donot care about your deposit then probably you can go for it.

Bad Customer Service
We visited this apt last weekend and was totally disappointed by their customer service. When we walked in to the office, no on greeted acknowledge us.There was this lady on the phone the whole time and when she finally got done talking on the phone, she gave us this nasty attitude. We would never want to live in such apt with POOR customer service!

Looks are very deceiving...
I thought this place was very nice from the outside, but inside, everything is old. It's a good place if you're just starting out, but you'll soon find that you can't settle here. The management is okay as long as you stay out of their hairs, but she can be very persistent and she talks like a car salesmen when she has to. The kitchen cabinetry is very old and termite eaten, and the living room space is so small. The walls are also very thin. It is too pricy for its class. I don't want to discourage you, but if it's what you can afford and it looks good, please try it. It's better that you see for yourself.

I had a great experience living here.
I have lived at several apartment buildings throughout the years and Windsor Ridge is definately my best experience yet. The grounds are well manicured and the maintenance team was always very prompt and friendly. The environment is pretty quiet and in a safe neighborhood. Monica, the apartment manager, was very cooperative and understanding. Had I not gotten a job in San Francisco I would have never left.

-Joanie

15 years and still a nice place to live!
I have lived at Windsor Ridge for almost 15 years and still find it a nice place to live. Yes, there certainly are occasional problems, and trust me, I have had issues with the management and/or policies. However, on the whole, I have been very satisfied with my experience and have no plans to leave, pending any lottery winnings.

The apartments are about 15 years old and are consistent in quality with what you would expect from a complex of that age. I have had no trouble with any of my major appliances, and when the garbage disposal died, it was replaced immediately. The laundry room always works other than the very occasional out of order machine; it is cleaned every weekday; and while on the weekends it can get dirty, guess what!? It is the untidy residents who make it that way, not the management or maintenance people.

I have had a dog from the day I moved in and do not find the other pet owners to be the unruly sort described by many of the other reviewers. Of course there are some jerks who don't know the meaning of cleaning up after their pets, but that will happen everywhere, not just at this complex. Other than the people who find pets, no matter how friendly or non-intimidating, to be frightening (and I may say I am very irritated by their attitudes), the pets tend to make the complex a much more friendly place. I meet more neighbors with pets than any others who simply hide out and refuse to acknowledge their neighbors.

The best advice I can give here is if you don't like animals, then DON'T MOVE INTO ANY COMPLEX THAT ALLOWS THEM! It will make your life and the petowners' lives much more peaceful.

I hope that will help some of you make a more informed decision about your apartment choice. I have seen it all, been through it all, and have years of experience at other apartments as well. It's not perfect, but I doubt you will find any place that is.

Horrible, Horrible Experience--Do NOT Rent Here
Where do we start? We ended up at Windsor Ridge after another apartment complex managed by Essex screwed us out of our apartment at the last minute when the original tenant decided to stay at the last minute…not minding that we had put down a deposit on the apartment that was supposedly ours.

The things we noticed once we moved in:
The drawers in the kitchen and bathrooms are so old that they leave a coat of sawdust ALL OVER everything—we had to wash our dishes before eating out of them.
The parking is horrendous—no spots available, EVER. When moving in, they told us there was “plenty of parking.” We, too, were cited for parking our cars in the stall backward, and threatened with towing. Also, they may lure you in with promises of “plenty of spacious parking right down the street.” Of course, they neglect to tell you it’s quite far away, and pleasantly located next to a shady mobile home park.
The Management commandeered most of our parking for a construction project that lasted months, dwindling our piddly parking choices down to three for ALL residents on our end.
Leaf blowers/construction started at 7 am—we complained repeatedly.
You can hear a constant beeping from the factory next door—lasts all day and night despite going over there in person to complain about noise ordinance violations.
Old and loud appliances—dishwasher barely fits in any dishes.
The heaters and A/C SUCK—they blow luke-warm air out. We had ours checked and they said that was how it was supposed to feel. We froze in the winter and burned in the summer.
Rent negotiations went south quite quickly when they tried to jack up our rent by nearly $500.00 a month—in 2004, in this economy. We decided to leave after one long year.
Of course, the deposit situation was just as bad as everyone else said—they basically kept ALL of the deposit.

The only positives were that we had great, quiet neighbors with no kids or dogs. We rarely heard our neighbors. We also had a few emergencies that required assistance, and they came immediately to help fix the problem. Laundry facilities were always clean and working for us. The few positives, however, did NOT outweigh all of the other annoying features about this horrible apartment complex.
Nice Location-But Loud
I lived at Windsor for a year. Our unit was the very last one right next to the overpass on wolfe and everytime a truck goes by it felt as if there was an earthquake.
The walls are paper thin--I can hear every conversation from my next door neighbor in my bedroom and was definitely not a happy camper when he invites people over at 8am on Saturdays.
Not really a problem with parking-decent ammenities-Manager is EXTREMELY strict esp with deposit.

Absolutely horrible!!!
The mangagement here is incompetent, greedy, and totalitarian.

They refuse to stop tenants from letting their dogs ---- on my doorstep, and prevent my neighbors from throwing parties at 12am - but want to tell me that I cant park my car in it´s spot backwards because they check registration tags. Its stupid. The walls are thin, the rent is high, the building is falling apart, the shelves that they use are not up to par, most of the buildings are infested with ants and/or cockroaches, the management is rude, it is just not a good place to live. I plan on moving as soon as my lease is up.

If you are a ----, then come and live here...
...Because the manager here considers herself as ------. She makes stupid rules and then thinks that everyone would accept whatever justification she would give for that rule.

Latest one is that you cannot back your car in your own parking spot. If you do then be prepared to bring your car back from towing services after paying them $150 . When I asked her the reason for this rule, I got the stupidest response. She told me that she checks everyone’s´ license tags and it becomes inconvenient for her to go around the car if it is backed in the parking stall. Well, instead of doing her regular job of maintaining property and listening to the residents´ problems, she shows lot of attitude, and rather prefers to do CHP/DMV job of checking car tags.

Anyway, this place is not worth living. Walls are too thin, high rents, old appliances, Greedy & rude management, and a rotten place than what available in 3 mi radius. My lease ends in 3 months, and I am definitely out of here.
Good spacious apartment but no deposit back.
Lived here 2 yrs ago. spacious 1 bdrm with loft. great storage room. good prompt maintainence.

However hardly got any deposit back after moving out. reason given was dusty blinds and 3-4 spots on walls. this after the walk through during which i was told that i would get most of the deposit back as the apartment was in great shape.

Please read this message if you are considering living here
I cannot say it better, most of the reviews you read here for the past two years are true. Do not take this lightly. The bad management, the noise, the unjustified high price you pay, and the continued disregard and disrepect for the tenents by this apartment´s personnel makes it the worst I´ve ever lived in in the South Bay.

For the past 6 years I have lived in various other apartments in the area such as Orchard Glen, Bella Vista, Olive West, etc. Sure, each had their pluses and minuses. But at the end of the lease you felt that what you paid is what you get, it was just an apartment that you lived in, you move on, no big deal.

This is *not* the case with Windsor Ridge. When I left, I truely felt a deep sense of insult along with regret that I lived here. It was obvious their business model was driven purely by greed. The manager in charge´s offensive attitude is propegaed to all the staff she hires. And you are treated the same way no matter who you talk to. Except for the new grouds-keep. He is a reasonable guy. But I feel sorry for him having to work with such a incompetent and egotistic staff, and might ultimately become one of them.

All I can say is this much, please consider somewhere else. Do not waste your money at this place.

Good lucks.

They keep your deposit money no matter what!!!
This is a warning to those thinking of moving into Windsor Ridge. Make sure they itemized everything, I mean everything, right down to how much they want to charge you for dirt specks on the floor, etc. I´m not kidding about this, because you will find all this out when you move out.

We are in a process of moving out of our apartment, and was told by the management staff to not to bother to clean or even hire professional cleaning people to clean our apartment, because if it´s not done to Windsor Ridge standard, they will charge us for cleaning anyway.

Long story short, basically they want to keep our deposit money so no matter how we clean our apartment, it´s not going to meet their standard. By the way, I still don´t know what their standard of cleanliness is since they refuse to explain that to me. We are going to try and get our deposit back, and want to warn people from getting themselves into this nasty situation.

When we moved out of our last apartment, our old landlord gave us back all of our deposit, right down to the last penny because we did a great job with keeping up his apartment. At Windsor Ridge, it´s a waste of time. They are finding every possible ridiculous ways to keep our deposit, and make us regret ever signing a lease with them!!! I´m going to report them to the consumer affair, and other consumer protection agencies as well. I hope by writing this review that others won´t have to go through what we are going through right now.
Lawn mowing and yardwork starts at 8:00 am here!
If you don´t like to sleep in, and you like power lawn mowers a few feet from your open window at 8:00 am. Move here. Also, most of the time the many dog owners here clean up after their dogs. Sometimes they don´t. So if you like to BBQ and like flies on your food attracted from dog poop. Move here.

Not such a bad place to live for pet owners!
Look - I live there currently and want to give you a little info. on this place from someone who acutally like the apartment, the management and the complex!

It is a nice place for people with dogs. If you don´t have a pet and you really don´t like living in a place that allows them - please move! Get over it and the next time you move into an apartment complex, please check with the management before you rent in a place that allows pets. If you have a problem dog, please let management know. Don´t be passive aggressive, nothing gets solved. Management is so very quick to correct issues such as noise! I know from first had experiences. Management does all they can to correct problems and are diligent to make sure dog owners clean up after their dogs & keep their dogs quiet!

There are a lot of ------- that live there - this is true. They are quiet, keep to themselves and yes their food does have strong smells & are daily! It´s the truth! I am not anti-Indian I am just well aware that the spices are strong compared to American spices. No need to bash each other but be aware and be willing to admit differences.

I have been at WR for 4 years and have never seen "tons of people" cramming in one apartment nor laundry hanging on balconies! Management would not allow it! If it is the case, let me re-enforce this again......let management know. They are VERY responsive and deal w/issues quickly. I have also had my rent decreased several times.

I have noticed that many of the foreign people living there do not like pets, which is the one unfortunate thing for a place that allows pets. They run away, cry, yell, move too slowly, aviod and give off a sense of fear. In turn this makes pets/dogs scared & bark in their defense. Read any animal behavior guide and you will learn this! So please be warned if you have a pet and are thinking of moving to WR.

I have lived here for about 6 years now.
Sure I have had some problems, but at least for the last couple of years they have a manager there that is willing to take care of the problems. And actually cares about them.
This manager is the best manager that I have seen since I have lived here.
I have some of the same complaints that some people have and that is the thin walls, and inconsiderate neighbors. You find this everywhere. The property has always been kept up nice. And overall this was a good place to live.
Welcome to the Sunnyvale kennel club!
If you have a small, yappy, dog that needs to constantly assert itself by barking at everything and everyone, then come on down and live at Windsor Ridge. Apparently no dog is too annoying to live here. There are some people who do actually prevent their dogs from barking etc., but the majority are not considerate of people who would like to sleep past 6:30 am without listening to a dog yap constantly while it´s crapping on the grass. Laundry room usually has a few dryers that don´t dry clothes. Pool is clean and usually not crowded. Kids playground could use some updating. Parking is not good if you plan on getting home any time after 6 pm.

BAD MANAGEMENT BAD MANAGEMENT BAD MANAGEMENT !!!
the apartments are ok...
- it is too close to the road, and not gated. The security patrol is okay.
- No CLUB ROOM... that is a big problem if you are socially inclined.
- The gym sucks big time as there are not enough machines etc.
- about the management, according to me that part completely sucks. they are shrewd, hopeless people, not at all responsive and courteous. the maintenance is okay but forget ur deposit.
- Expensive then other similar apartments.

they think too high of themselves and have no manners what so ever.

I am sure that u can do better than this.

They need to Rename to Canine Ridge
Here at Windsor Ridge there may be more dogs than people. They´re everywhere, adjacent to your apartment barking from left alone, outside defecating near your window, and of course barking at you when you walk by. The worst part is some dog owners insist on walking their dogs within the apartment. They don’t care if it’s early in the morning when their dogs bark and wake up everyone up within earshot; they are too lazy to walk an extra 30 seconds to go to a reasonable spot near the road. When you come home from work it’s a rare sight not to see a dog being walked so dog lovers c’mon down to Canine Ridge where your dog is number 1! P.S. I’ve noticed some racist people writing reviews here and want to clarify how Indian people are here. They don’t cram many people in their apartments and they are very nice, happy people.

TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN ....
Dirty place (dogs and cats litter everywhere). Extremely rude office people. Old refridgerators and old AC units, in short appliances are old and cranky. If your fridge makes noises that wakes you up in the night, dont be surprised. And if you give a service request to get it repaired/replaced, dont be surprised if you are told that "bottomline is that it works (it keeps things cold)".

If you are a sad person whose only company is a dog/cat and you dont mind dogs/cat litter everywhere, this might be a place for you.

IN SHORT TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN TO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

By the way this is my 3rd review in last 2 years and my opionion has not changed. I am running from here as soon as my lease expires.

Management is terrible, facilities are decent - B rating
The one review who said that management is nice to you prior to moving in then mean to you afterwards is so correct. They really do make it seem like they´re doing you a favor of living here. One day they´ll be really nice, the next day they´ll hate you. They´re also extremely ----.
Everyone I know who lives here agrees.

The facilities are pretty nice. I wouldn´t go as far as luxurious but deffinitely livable. The rental rates are very strange. My friends have the same exact layout as us and pay $400 dollars less! There are a lot of Indian people here but they´re so harmless. The good points are the location, parking, and apartment size.

They need to can the managers though.
