Great support team
Roger took great care with the installation of a new refrigerator. He had everything ready to use very quickly. He was professional, efficient, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was set up perfectly. I would definitely recommend him

This might be the worst building I’ve ever lived in. The elevators are broken all the time you can’t get packages delivered here. The trash rooms are filled with trash, despite the shoots being right there because the residents are too lazy to throw it down the chute creates bug problems. Your AC won’t work in the summer. Your heat won’t work in the winter and if you ever have an appliance break they won’t replace it for you. Get everything in writing

I’ve been living in this apartment building for 6 years, and Allen Johnson at the concierge desk consistently stands out for his kindness and helpfulness. I always look forward to greeting him each morning on my way to work.

Great Place!
I’ve been staying at 130 M St NE, Washington, DC 20002 for about half a year now, and my experience has been great overall. The building is well-maintained, the amenities are kept clean, and the location is incredibly convenient for commuting and daily errands. One person that truly stands out is Ray. He has always been very helpful, responsive, and willing to go the extra mile whenever something comes up.

Phenomenal front desk staff!
I have lived at Flats 130 for nearly 5 years and we have seen lots of turnover at the front desk. Allen is by far one of the best staff we have had at the front desk. He always greets everyone with a smile and upbeat attitude. Despite some of the chaos that can be package pickups, delivery drivers, and lobby hullabaloo, Allen handles each and every resident inquiry with kindness, grace, and care. Each time I have needed help with a package, maintenance request, etc, I can count on Allen for quick help and great conversation. We are so lucky to have him!

I love the workers at the front desk and maintenance is always amazing.
I’ve been living here since 2022. It’s very quiet and comfortable for me and my daughter. It’s a very safe living environment. The neighbors are very friendly and everyone gets along. I love all the workers in the building. They’re very helpful and you can depend on them to get the job done. The leasing office is also very helpful.

I love this building.
Everyone here is always so responsive and quick to fix any issue that comes up. The building is always clean and I always feel safe. There is a whole range of residents that makes the building feel like a community despite the size.

Excellent Tour
Anthony I. was truly exceptional! From the moment the tour began, he was welcoming and incredibly well-prepared. He didn’t just show the building, he brought it to life. He asked about my priorities and ensured that light and large windows were part of the apartments I visited. Every feature was explained with care, from the layout, the view, and finishes to the hidden gems like storage options (even the storage for my spices, lol). He highlighted the amenities with enthusiasm and deep knowledge, making it easy to imagine living there. What stood out most was Anthony’s professionalism and passion. He anticipated questions before I could ask them and offered insights I hadn’t even considered. His energy, patience, and attention to detail turned a simple apartment tour into a five-star experience. If you're lucky enough to tour with Anthony, you're in great hands!

Quick Response from Maintenance
On Monday I put in a low request for Maintenance crew. The next morning He showed up. My washing machine was to close to the wall on one side which made it difficult if something dropped to pickup and to clean the dust. I appreciate his caring response to the matter.

an amazing place to live!
I want to let you know what a wonderful staff you have Anthony Lidia and Erica. I have lived here for 6 years and I consider them as family. They have such beautiful spirits, they always greet you with a smile, they get the job done and they are willing to go above and beyond. I would not trade them for anything in the world. this world would be better if they had this staff. I love them with all my heart yes they have my vote thank you, kindly.

Don’t move here!
I’ve lived in this building since 2017 and honestly the management staff has become HORRIBLE. I mean, we get a new property manager every couple of months. recently, a water leak impacted our unit and I had to reach out about 4 times before someone came to take a look. The excuse was “Oh, it was sundayâ€.. meanwhile our entire unit was soaked and we had no hot water which I would consider an emergency. The current property manager Marnique Gross is clueless and said they weren’t offering a reduction in rent for the inconvenience, or a temporary place to stay while they make the repairs. Meanwhile, we’re expected to stay in our apartment while there construction noise, dust, potentially hazardous conditions for a minimum of the week. Not to mention, there was no timeline included in the schedule so we can’t prepare for their arrival which doesn’t work well for me since we primarily work from home. I used to actually like living in this building but it’s gotten pretty bad. Especially with poor managers that are unresponsive. Not to mention, unhoused people roaming the hallways which has never happened until recently, a poor excuse for hallway upgrades, terrible elevators.. the list goes on and on.. I would say move to another building around here if you like Noma!

Not worth the price
My partner and I have been here since July 2021 our original rent was $1875. This year the rent with it has gone up over $2017 to $2373 plus parking increased $200 for unreserved parking. We were looking into getting a two bedroom or one bedroom with a den since our family is expanding and flats refused to work with their current residence with any specials. Our lease is ending on 12/31 which then our rent will be over $3300 for a one bedroom and we’ve tried over a month and a half to have at least renewed and the management office is giving us a runaround.

Bad Place to rent
On July 19th, 2023 at 8AM your maintenance crew decided to disable 2 out of 3 elevators for routine maintenance. No emails were sent, no warnings were given, several people had to figure out what was wrong on their own and walk down the stairs. A simple email (we received about 6 for pressure washing of the garage), would have helped with that inconvenience. I'll ask for a 500$ credit on my rent, or file a small court claim for my nuisance. I trust the property manager will approve the credit rather going to court.

Poorly Maintained and Falling Apart
The hallway carpet is disgustingly stained, the lights in the hallways don't work, the paint in the hallway is chipped in several places, the walls are thin, all of the furniture in the common spaces is destroyed, the carpet in the units is dingy, and the elevators are almost always out of order. They have also given another resident a key to my unit, making me seriously question my safety. I was excited to live in this building when I initially signed, but I quickly realized that the apartments shown on the tour look nothing like the actual units, and most of the amenities are out of order or poorly maintained. Living in this building has been awful, and they should be ashamed advertising and pricing this as a luxury building.

Place I could call home.
I lived for 3 years at Flats 130, and I don't have anything but good things to say about this place. The concierge and leasing both are wonderful, and they've helped me out at every given moment. The maintenance team can be a bit slow but they always get the job done. The apartment itself was pretty spacious and comfortable - I had a 1 bed-room, with a balcony overlooking the Zen Garden. The location is great, with the NoMa metro just being next door. Groceries are easy with Harris Teeter and Trader Joe's being incredible close. Lots of restaurants around, and Union Market is also just a 10-15 min walk. The neighbours are friendly and the building is very diverse. The amenities are pretty decent too. If I didn't have to move cities for work, I would still definitely continue to live at Flats 130 - I felt at home here (which I typically never do).

Leasing Agent Experience- Lidia
Respectfully, I’ve toured 16 apartments and I must say Lidia is the best I’ve experienced. Ask for her when you view the apartments. She’s personable, professional, honest and intuitive. She made us feel like a part of the community, answered all our questions, invited inquiries and is simply a sweetheart! She deserves a raise! The building is also awesome! I’m most probably going to select this apartment building as my new home.

I would give this building 0 stars if I could all due to one thing: the management and leasing office (this does NOT include the concierge staff who are always nice, friendly, and helpful). The building itself is fine, nothing special, not awful though. However, the entire 4 years I lived in this building I had nothing but terrible experiences with management who were never helpful and even worse, actually violated my leasing rights more than once. I seriously can't think of a nice thing to say about them. I wouldn't recommend living in this building to anyone unless you can somehow get away with never having to interact with the leasing office. Do not live here.

Overall this is a great community with some of the cheapest rental rates in the neighborhood. The biggest complaint we have is with the elevators. There are limit F elevators and they can be reserved for tenants moving in/out so very frequently there is a double digit minute wait for an elevator. The single elevator that is available is typically packed with people and very difficult to maintain social distance, so you either get in a jam packed elevator or wait another 10+ minutes for the elevator to circle back.

This is a great location-right next to the metro, Union Market, Metropolitan Branch Trail, and many grocery stores. Everyone is very nice and helpful-- including the concierge and leasing office. However, this is not a cheap building and while the interior of the apartments is nice, the hallways and carpets in common areas are not taken care of whatsoever. I was very unhappy upon my move in when we realized the carpets leading up to my apartment have been stained by dogs many times over, and the building has done nothing to replace the ugly appearance. There are also large scratches and chunks missing from the walls in the hallways-- it all makes for a very gross appearance right outside of our new apartment. This building would look so much nicer if they could just replace some of the damage in the common spaces and hallways.

I loved living right next to the metro and above Harris Teeter (especially during the winter months) and having a dog courtyard in the building for my pup. I moved to this building because of how friendly the dog park was. However, I had a horrible move in and move out experience. I was also stuck in the elevator for over an hour on Fourth of July and the preparedness of the staff in the leasing office was horrendous. In addition, my refrigerator had broken two months back to back and the leasing office did nothing to apologize for the inconvenience of me needing to restock my fridge twice in less than a month (costing about $600). I didn't get a gift card, a refund on my rent, or really even an apology. I asked to speak to someone in the corporate headquarters and never heard from anyone. I also know that the leasing office staff treating the concierge staff horribly. One person was randomly fired who was the most trusting person on staff, knew everyone's names, unit numbers and children/pets names and was so kind. This was person should never be fired, especially after they were subject to racism from management and other residents. I was really shocked to hear this person was no longer working there very abruptly. It's sad because I know that the others residents are wonderful, the maintenance is great, but the folks who work in the leasing office are under-qualified for the positions they have and have very horrible customer service skills and accommodation practices. It was truly a great place to live, but the management office really turns a lot of people away and for that reason alone, I cannot recommend them to future tenants. It's not worth the stress and aggravation when the point of living in a luxury building is all about convenience.

This is a great location-right by the metro, bike trail, bars, food, and grocery stores. It's a nice area that's a bit cheaper for DC but in the heart of the city so easy to get to other neighborhoods. Everyone is SO friendly. The staff, the neighbors, the maintenance people. It really feels like a community and you can chose how much or how little you would like to be involved. There's lots of events that happen, everyone is open to a quick elevator chat, and there's always people hanging around the shared spaces. I think the flats offer a more affordable apartment without sacrificing great amenities, beautiful apartment spaces, and square footage.

I really enjoyed my time at Flats 130. The apartment is in an amazing location right next to the noma metro stop and right above the Harris Teeter. The concierge, maintenance, and leasing staff were very attentive and always super helpful! Definitely going to miss living here!

Fantastic location (metro-adjacent, grocer downstairs) for a reasonable price. Apartments are larger than most other new buildings (1 bed 700+ sq feet) and extremely solid construction: unlike other DC apartments I've lived in, I have never heard a neighbor through the walls, ceiling or floors at Flats 130. High-end finishes and great amenity spaces in one of DC's most accessible locations (Union station 5 blocks south)

The location is great, being near the Noma Metro. I wish there were more walkable good restaurants and bars nearby, but that will probably eventually change as the neighborhood continues to develop/evolve. The apartments are fairly spacious and have a lot of good, high-end appliances. The kitchen is overall great, as is the bathroom. The building also has a lot of good, spacious amentities including a great gym. But the major, major downside with the building is the noise. As noted by others, the doors are very poorly made and you can hear everything from the hallway. When the neighbor's dog is barking, you can hear it the same as if your dog was barking. The noise can be so loud that, at night, when someone opens/shuts their door, you can be jolted out of bed thinking someone is entering your apartment. I complained about this and asked for a new door, but nothing was ever done. It just seems to be a fundamental flaw with how this building was constructed, and management so far has shown no willingness to invest in major corrective actions. Also, just an FYI, whatever they say your rent is, you should add $60 to $80 onto that in monthly fees that may not be clearly explained when you sign the lease. Overall, good apartments, nice staff, well-maintained, but all tenants should be warned about the noise.
