Noma is an empty neighborhood. There is not much around and this apartment is overpriced for the location. The fact that I would need to pay $1,500 to get out of a lease EVEN IN THE CASE OF EMERGENCIES is absolutely absurd. I would have left sooner if I could afford to fork out that much money just to get out of here. Ridiculous.

I love living at this...
I love living at this apartment. I use the fitness center and outdoor recreation areas often and am pleased with them. I can barely hear my neighbors and think the people I live around are very nice.

Flats 130's greatest...
Flats 130's greatest asset is that it is conveniently located next to the Red Line station at Noma. The amenities and appliances are starting to show their age; they're generally functional but not particularly impressive. The elevators on the Signature side are pretty good, but exceptionally slow on the regular side. The 'rooftop' pool is on the 7th floor and does not offer a very large deck or any sweeping vistas of the city. The Signature side rooftop has a much better view, but isn't accessible to all Flats 130 residents and can get pretty crowded on the weekends. There is a significant noise problem for residents along 1st Street NE. Club Ibiza is exceptionally loud Friday night through about 3:00am Monday morning. There is also significant incidental noise due to police activity responding to problems at the club. Flats 130 residents not facing Club Ibiza have less of a noise problem, but still have to deal with the pedestrian and vehicular traffic when the club lets out. Overall, Flats 130 is a convenient place to live if you don't mind the noise over the weekend and can get a decent discount off their over-inflated "market" rates.

I am completely satisfied...
I am completely satisfied with my apartment home at Flats 130. It's a super pet friendly building and really caters to the four legged creatures. It is a quiet and well maintained building. The amenities are never too crowded and its easy to entertain my guest when they visit. My friends love visiting me and I love hosting in such a great building. There is always street parking for my guest which was a problem at my last building. My favorite thing about Flats 130 is that its convenient to everything...shopping, travel, bike trails, grocery, and downtown DC.

The property is nice...
The property is nice very modern and clean. However, it has a hotel feel which is fine for some people who only live here during the week (and hardly live here as they seemingly are always traveling for work). Their are a ton of college students! So at times it seems like a dorm with people playing loud music people coming in late at night and drunk so they talk really loud and you can hear them in your apartment, Walls are a little thin but not terrible. I would prefer a more community feel. The staff does a good job of trying to get people together but they have to ply them with alcohol and food.

This is a nice place...
This is a nice place to live. The units feel expensive yet homy, and there's a great array of ammenities. It's fairly easy to hear what's going on in other apartments from the hallway but no so much inside the apartments. I think the apartments were meant for someone significantly taller than average though - the overhead kitchen cabinets, the shower, even the peephole require me (5'6") to stand on my toes or get a step ladder. After moving in, I found out there were a few comparable places for cheaper in the area. This one is much more conveniently located, so it depends on your priorities. My only complaint is of window facing the NoMa watertower, and that thing is lit up bright all night. Even with the blinds closed, I can navigate my apartment just fine. And there's no way to add curtains.

We recently moved into...
We recently moved into the building and are really enjoying it. The gym is really nice and the outdoor space is great, especially for living in the city. It is very close to the metro and only a 10 minute walk from Union Station.

Staff very professional....
Staff very professional. Amenities are top notch. Really enjoy the sense of community here. Living so close to Metro and above a grocery store have been extremely convenient. Moving to Flats 130 has helped DC feel more like home.

Generally well-kept, staff are pleasant, well sound-proofed. Some residents are a bit loud and disrespectful of others. Gym is good. Overall a fairly decent place to live for the price, although the neighborhood could be better.

It's a good modern...
It's a good modern place. Grocery shopping is incredibly convenient and so is the Metrorail. The staff and services are helpful and pleasant. The gym is convenient and excellent.

I moved in 2013. I find that this property is very comfortable and has great amenities. The management is very responsive and cares about our satisfaction. The Maintenance team is very responsive, professional and responsive. There is great value for the experience you get.

This apartment building...
This apartment building is cheaply built and has little to no insulation in side the building. Closing the door to your room does not at all reduce the amount of noise you hear from the common area and hearing noises from your neighbors is not uncommon. The features are nice and well-maintained and the staff is exceptional, but it never loses the corporate feel as you are charged a fee for every little thing. Trash is $10 a month and somehow you get charged for heating and cooling even if you don't have your heater or air conditioner on.
