This place is absolutely beautiful. Very quiet and serene. The amenities and just the place in general are very well kept. Very nice curb appeal. Office staff is very attentive and answered all my questions.

Do not be fooled by the cosmetics, these apartments were clearly built cheap and upon move-in you already will have many problems. The price of rent is not even close to being worth it. The only positive I can say about this place is that it is a good location. Otherwise, the people who work here do not care about you, they only care about taking your money. First of all, the gates are broken often and it takes weeks for somebody to come and fix them. The pool is dirty and the lawn care people will wake you up early Monday morning. You have to request pest control and even if you do not get it, you still get charged. We actually got MORE pests including roaches AFTER the pest control guy came. The toilets leak and this is supposedly after maintenance fixed it. The appliances are not durable and you can tell that they are ignoring the fact that pipes are going bad. We can hear our upstairs neighbor's every step and the walls shake every time you go up the stairs. The doors on all the closets were broken upon move in. The office associates act as though they constantly have something better to do.I had read these reviews before I moved in and decided to ignore them but I made the wrong decision. It is an absolutely terrible, overpriced, overrated place to live. Do not waste your time or your money, you will regret it.

This place sucks. Roaches everywhere, they don't spray your unit unless you ask for it, then unless you keep telling them to come back they stop. The office is pathetic. When I checked out, they tried to charge me for a bunch of erroneous charges, when I called them on it, they removed the charges. Then, 6 months later I get a call from a collection agency that I owe money. Terrible place to live. Go elsewhere.

Saratoga Place Apartments is an OK place to live until you find out they are GREATLY increasing the rent on people who are good residents that are loyal to the community. The rents are increasing over $130.00 per month on residents here. This is on top of the additional bill you will get for water, trash, and global amenity fee that increases every year and is close to $90.00 per month. Residents are not even getting the services they signed up for with their current leases - the gate has been broken for MONTHS, the fitness center door does not work so you have to walk around to use the bathroom, etc. Also, many residents are bringing big dogs into the complex. You will be able to hear your neighbors on every floor.

Absolutely horrible place to live! I moved in in October 2015, didn't have ac for the first two months because they couldn't figure it out and didn't want to pay to fix it.. Had no hot water in the master shower for three months.. They would say they came to fix it but never did. The costs they charge are ridiculous for what you get. The gates that are supposed to be there for security were broken open for three to four months. Long term residents are moving out because of how bad the pace has gotten. Absolutely ridiculous that they charge what they do for the places they run. Everything below about all the issues are true... Don't waste your money.

The reviews below are not lies. This place is awful and they DO NOT care about you or anyone else that lives here. The office and maintenance staff are both awful. They do things on their own time and their way with no customer service skills whatsoever. Do not be fooled at all by them. They're scum bags that only care for themselves. The pest control fee is a joke. I've been here 7 months (counting down the days until our lease is up) and they have never once sprayed for bugs. If something breaks inside your apartment don't bother asking for help because it won't come. JRK Properties is the property management company and they are worthless as well. The office manager, Sarah, is a real bit*h as well and can't handle pressure nor knows how to address concerns. She only cares about herself along with everyone else. Sad how poor this beautiful place is ran. Maybe one day it'll get better but DO NOT MOVE THERE.

This apartment was a big mistake for me. It was not ready when promised. The dryer was not hooked up properly. The bathroom sink leaked all over the floor. There were bugs in the apartment. The hot water heater and air conditioner leaked. The carpet in the hallway was wet and moldy from the leak. The linen closet had mold in it from the leak. I reported the leaks several times before they were fixed. By then the damage was already done. The outside common areas are not well kept. The management was changed three times in two months! We had to leave after two months because things were so bad.

I thought this was a nice place to live in a nice area, but that was before I knew the true cost to live here. The changing of personnel and management made it very easy for them to shift blame for not making repairs and not having the placed sprayed for bugs. But, the worst think just happened. I was informed by a note on my door that I owed $375 for a penalty for non payment of rent. I immediately went and asked how that could be. The explanation at first was that they shouldn't have sent that out and not to worry about it. I did worry about it and a week later went to take with a new property manager. She informed me it was now $530 and it was for a late payment to a utility bill that was making my rent short. She explained that she had no obligation to provide notice of any bill outstanding. But, she would check into it. I didn't hear bad from her, so I paid what I expected to be the past due amount of utility. Still no call from the property manager, I went in again to see what was owed and was informed it was $800. I just cant believe the extortion, unprofessionalism and outright dishonestly. If you live here - run for your life, its only a matter of time before your next. If you are thinking about moving here, do you own research about what management company owns this property and know that if this is there tactic at this property- It is likely the immoral way they run other properties.

I spent 1 year in this Complex. The Complex had recently been sold when I came there in late 2014. Everyone who had been there long term when I moved in has moved out. Even my neighbors who had been there 14 years moved out. I stayed only 1 year because the management was completely uninterested in the residents, maintenance requests went unmet for months on end, current residents were presented with rapidly increasing rates but published rates for new residents were reduced by thousands of dollars. Even the Property Manager and Leasing Manager who were there when I moved in left. Three Property managers left after less than 2 weeks. Children waiting for the school buses were left standing under a nonworking private light. The community changed dramatically during the year I was there. I cannot recommend Saratoga Place at all.

This was the Biggest Miskake I've made. This Beautiful luxury complex is managed by DOGS. They do not care about you or your home. Ive had problems from day one ranging from small repairs needing to be fixed upon move in to my air conditioning not working properly for the ENTIRE 2 months of living here so far!!! It started with a leak that took them 2-3 weeks to fix and now the air doesn't work AT ALL. Ive talked with neighbors who have lived here for years and made homes of this complex that now want to leave because of the new management! That sure does say a lot to me. Such a disappointment and STAY AWAY. Can not wait to leave.

Stay away! I can't think of one positive thing to say about this complex. Since I have been here they have gone through at least 12 maintenance people. The floors are terrible, constant noise from above and below. The people who run this place are friendly until you sign the lease, but they could care less about you problems after you move in.

Don't let the outer beauty fool you. Lived there a year and have had ants, silverfish, broken dishwasher, broken washing machine, broken AC. Three weeks to a month to fix the appliances. Corporate management style that only cares about their bottom line. Poor insulation results in hot rooms on the sunny side even with air cranked and I hear the neighbor snoring so loud in the apartment above me, he could be in my bed! A real disappointment and can't wait for my lease to be up to move.

We moved into our apartment in 2014, sight unseen as we were moving out of state and the place was a bit expensive, but decent...at first. During the year we lived here, we had roaches in the apartment (we are clean freaks and still had them), the painters painted our dryer vent shut (almost causing a dryer fire), the gates were always broken and open, the pool had fire ants and the restrooms were never clean or stocked with basics (like toilet paper, paper towels, soap), raccoons/alligator by the trash compactor (they both were still a problem when we moved out in mid-2015) There is a much longer list of things wrong with the property and the apartment when we moved in, just wanted to give a quick highlight. We put in tickets and talked with management, nothing ever was done or fixed. When they did get good help in, they were fired shortly after starting (or quit because they saw the train wreck of a place this was). The "million dollar renovation" was a good waste of money. The place looked nice before, they should have used the money on safety and fixing up the actual apartments. But it is a great selling point to show people and show a fake facade to sell "model" apartments. What they show you is the nicely decorated model, when the actual apartment is a major downgrade. The office staff is new each week, so good luck finding the right person to work with. Escalate the problem to the "district/regional manager" and you might as well talk to a wall and hire a good attorney while you are at it (only way to get stuff done/changed). We were billed for damages we didn't do (we actually videoed the apartment before we left as proof of how shady we knew this management company was). Overall, if this is your last choice of apartments, I would keep looking or enjoy your car. It's not the worst place ever, for $400-$500 a month rent, sure, this wouldn't be a horrible option, but when rents are $1100+, you expect it to be a nice community, which sadly, the management has turned a nice apartment complex into probably one of the worst in Sarasota. If you do rent here, renter beware.

What people are saying is all true about the decline in this place. We have been living here since 2011 and since this new company has taken over its a joke. They had a sign out front last year quoting million dollar renovation. What a joke. The pool was closed for nearly three months in the hottest months of the year. Work crews where walking off the job after not being paid. Toilets are never clean. They spend all the money on the supposed club house that is only open till 5pm on Saturday and closed on Sunday.. Wow that good when your off for the weekend. Gates are never working properly and have been left open for over four months at a time. There was a Murder here three years ago on a Sunday afternoon... Oh gated yeah right... The most weight for a dog is 30lbs and people have two dogs more like 60-80lb range. No dangerous breeds but I see someone living here with a pitbull. You better get on well with your neighbors because the noise is crazy and we have had to move buildings after having the Sheriffs dept turn up the day after we moved in ...( for noise). The class of people has really declined and all the long term people have been run out with over priced rent increase.maintaince is a joke and half look either stoned or drunk. I rang to complain my AC was not working on Friday night and no one turned up till Monday afternoon. Lucky I am handy and fixed the problem my self. The only real reason we are staying here for one more year as they made a mistake a while back and refunded our deposit. So we have nothing to lose when we move out.. Don't pay the money they are asking for.

My boyfriend and I have been a resident here for 2 years and will be moving out this month and we could not wait for the day! this place has become a real dump after new management has taken over. The gate breaks regularly, so security of this place is pretty much at a zero. Also, they have side gates with no locks, being held by zip ties, yes ZIP TIES. they did a multi million dollar renovation but the paint is poorly done, there are mistakes everywhere. Our rent went up $200, so they are asking for 1250 a month for a non-updated 1bed 1 bath, which is absolutely ridiculous. This is forcing people to move (4 total in our building). The staff is rude, when I walk in to get a package they usually just silently hand it to me. I love the palmer ranch area, however it isn't very close to downtown or university, so the location isn't that great. When we first moved in our apartment seemed very clean, however after being there for several months, the stains in the carpet rose to the surface and impossible to remove. We asked management if they couls change the carpet and she said no we would never do that. the laminate counter tops are peeling and the dryer vent is on the back lanai, so there is always fuzz and its impossible to clean. Also, the lanai is too small the even sit out there. The people that have moved in are also not like when we first moved in. They must be running a special because most of the new people are trashy and unfriendly. By the way, the noise is terrible!! you can hear EVERYTHING. rant over. dont rent here!

I'm a resident living here. Can't wait to leave. Stay away from this place. You get nothing but a fake façade from staff when they show you the place. A new management company has taken over the place. They have the reputation for purchasing beautiful apartments and trashing them. Since they have taken over, the security gate was broken for months, trash is not being picked up, the pool is not being serviced. The hallways are gross and stink because they are no llonger being pressure washed, the bathrooms by the pool haven't been cleaned in weeks. Dead rats are showing up by pool due to overload of trash. They have differenet maintaince people each week because the company is too cheap to hire enough staff to maintain thie place. No maintanince, no service in apartments, your air conditioning, washer, dryer, refrigerator. The residence who lived here for years, before new management took over, are being evicted or forced out by using unscrupulous ways so they can jack up the rent for new tenants. New Mamagement is promising all kinds of upgrades to the apartments to the people who are coming in to look. People sign but the upgrades are not getting done. This is what this company is known for. The property looks beautiful on the outside. Don't let that or them fool you.

Saratoga Place is really kicking up their apartment rental rates and it's not reflective of the quality of the apartment people are living in. For example, A $200.00 a month rental increase for the Bismarck is a huge increase if I decide to renew my lease. You can rent a home in Sarasota for their current apartment rental prices. The apartments are loud if you do not have considerate neighbors. Also, the stairs and breezeways need to be power washed.

This place was great before jrk took it over. Cant wait to get out of here, my health is in jeopardy because of a leak in my ac which they seem to just ignore. It is a pretty property but this new company has destroyed what I loved about it. Home away from home where the management realized this was your home and you want to be comfortable for the 1500 shell out each month. I dont think having a safe working ac is asking too much in florida esp since it is 87 today. Ridiculous. The pool is not heated, hot tub rarely works, fountain broke, gates dont work half the time. Greystar we miss you. Great tenants that will eventually move like me if the management and owners dont listen to good people. Maribel is excellent but her hands are tied. I misjudged Elisa & gave her several chances. She is the worst.

I found the property to be very pretty, and the maintenance staff was awesome, but the office staff was sour. I always felt like I was 'bothering' them if I had to go in to the office to pick up a package. They seemed overwhelmed, unorganized and lacked customer service. If you like peace and quiet in your apt, then stay away. I heard everything my neighbors were doing. And even had to break my lease because the noise was so loud. And when I complained to the management team, they did very little to help me out. I felt totally ignored and it seemed like they didn't care at all if I was happy there. Management staff has no compassion, or the JRK Management company as I am finding out. I couldn't wait to get to out of there! Sure the location is unbeatable but everything else is just bells and whistles. Don't fall for it..

Things have changed at Saratoga Place. New owner, new property manager, maintenance practically non-existent. A real shame and what a downhill slide! Only happy folks are those moving out. Nasty, nasty, nasty!! The 5 star rating for maintenance is a system glitch -- they get a big fat zero and the Better Business Bureau in Los Angeles gives JRK Holdings-the company that owns this place--a big fat F.

I have lived at Saratoga Place for a few months after moving from the north for a new job. I rented sight unseen, being so far away. My apartment is absolutely beautiful!! I have never been happier!! I LOVE this community! I have met really nice neighbors, they keep the grounds very clean and I'm always greeted with a smile when I stop into the office. I would highly recommend living here and always let people know I meet about my lucky find. Siesta Key is my favorite place on the weekends which takes only 10 minutes to get to - a plus. It looks like they are doing some major renovations here to an already gorgeous place. Class Act.

My wife and I spent Winters in a seasonal rental at Saratoga Place for three years (2012-2014) until management changed in 2014 and they decided to discontinue their seasonal rentals. We left the apartment in March of 2014 after a thorough cleaning that left the unit in a much better state than when we moved in. It has now been four months. After repeated followups, Saratoga Place has not returned my $300.00 deposit. There have been many promises and apologies but the check has yet to appear. Because there was what seemed to be a sincere effort by management to have my deposit returned during the week of July 8, 2014 I put off legal action. There has been no communication from Saratoga Place since a July 8 voice mail. Be forewarned. Our experience with the apartment was satisfactory. Repairs were done in a timely manner and the grounds are well maintained. If you have a problem with your internet or TV connection be prepared for an arduous process of at least several days. Some of the dryers vent to the inside of the lanais creating lint and venting the oder of the your softening sheets. We had a first floor unit and the noise from a heavy walker was quite pronounced.

I moved here 1 1/2 years ago and I used to love this place. Don't let reviews older than six months fool you because this place has new owners and it is very different now. The grounds are not as nice as before and the management doesn't seem to care about anything. They don't care who they let rent here now. People have private parties at the pool and let their kids get out of control. There used to be a waiting list here and now the are tons of empty apartments.
