Enough is enough

Most of the time when you see multiple bad reviews, you come to the conclusion that they were posted by disgruntled renters. However, I must say that I am a single, quiet, law abiding citizen. <br> <br>Unlike other people on this review, I have had no problem with management. Some things are simply out of their control. They canýt be there to stop rowdy tenants from breaking the entry doors. My only problem is that they fail to punish people when there is proof of destruction or negligence. <br> <br>Anyway, I have lived here for almost four years, and I have simply had enough. I can´t understand 90 percent of my neighbors due to language barriers, and to make it worse, when there are notices posted from management, they´re in SPANISH! I have nothing against our spanish speaking poulation, but what about those of us who DON´T speak spanish? That´s a whole differnt topic. Just a little FYI. <br> <br>From the parking nightmare, to the washing machines not working, to the random shootings in the parking lot. People smoking weed on a DAILY basis, strangers knocking on my door for random reasons, kids swearing like sailors, to the dope being dealt to teens. When I would have female company, she would have to deal with the incessant glares and whistles from the "trash" and "cholos" as she walked through the parking lot. <br> <br>The security doors are not secure, the intercom hasn´t worked in 2 years, and the local police roll through 4-6 times a night. Every day that my car is not vandalized is a good day. It´s a wise thing not to make enemies in this place, they WILL retaliate. Just hold your tongue and keep walking. That is, if you don´t want to pay for new windows and a paint job on your car. These are all reasons that I left the south-side of Chicago. I didn´t think I´d have to deal with it in the FAR western ´burbs! <br> <br>If you have NO OTHER CHOICE, give it a go, maybe you´ll get lucky. If you can afford to go somewhere else, do so. The only reason that I have stayed this long is because I grew up rough, and I can take care of myself. That being said, no one...no matter how calloused, should have to live like this. At the end of my lease, (August) I will be on that Ryder truck!

Hoorible

I have lived here for all most a year and all the rumore are true. No parking, neighboors balareing music at all hours, dirt, and even bugs and mice. I have found two dead mice in my house. The management is the most unfriendly bunch of people. I have even had mail stolen right out of my mail box. I have even seen gang fights in the parking alot and every weekend another window on a car gets smashed out. I am even afraid to walk from my car to my house. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE. Thas is unless you have little cash and just came off of the boat!!

It´s all true.

I´ve read the previous reviews, and they are no exaggeration. If you love constant noise (people honking horns incessantly for no good reason, yelling, playing loud music, etc.) white trash, and not being able to communicate with your (often inconsiderate) neighbors due to language issues, then this is the place for you. Also great if you love coming home from a hard day of work or from buying a ton of groceries only to find that there is no parking available near your building. Tons of fun if you love constant police surveillance due to myriad suspicious activities. Once my boyfriend and I were minding our own business watching TV one night, when we heard a loud thump outside (someone throwing something at the building) and looked outside to see a mob of young men screaming and swearing, trying to get into our building. Soon after, we heard women (inside our building) screaming. Luckily the police generally respond quickly to such incidents. All of the men scattered though so they probably weren´t caught. We still don´t know what the hell that was all about. One thing we know for sure though: we can´t wait to get the hell out of here. It´s a shame because the space itself isn´t that bad, and it´s affordable, though the workmanship is shoddy and the place is old and in need of repair.

Gang central!

We lived here for 1 year, and left as soon as we could. There were gunshots heard late at night, they even had to hire a security guard to patrol the buildings...and he just ended up partying with the younger tenants. I had a (proud of it) call girl living on one side of me, and a LITERAL crack ----- on the other (she also seemed proud). We also had a peeping tom - that no one could seem to catch for several months - that would spy on even my (then) 3 year old daughter! The parking was atrocious (would sometimes have to park on the other side of the complex and walk back!) and the electrical outlets had hundreds of little tiny ants -streaming- out of them constantly! <br> <br>I am so glad to have gotten out of there alive!

DONT MOVE HERE

IT IS FULL OF BUGS, IT STINKS, AND NEVER ANY PARKING. IT IS DISGUSTING. I LIVED THERE WITH MY BOYFRIEND AND OUR BABY AND ONE DAY WE CAME HOME TO FIND BLOOD ALL OVER THE HALLWAY WALLS. SOME GUY WENT CRAZY AND THE POLICE HAD TO COME AREREST HIM. HE RESISTED THE POLICE AND STARTED A FIGHT RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR APARTMENT DOOR!!! DONT MOVE THERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT. WE HAD TO BREAK OUR LEASE BECAUSE WE DIDNT FEEL SAFE AND MID AMERICA MANAGEMENT MARKS YOUR CREDIT IF YOU BREAK A LEASE. I HIGHLY RECOMEND NOT MOVING THERE

I MOVED OUT AFTER 3 MONTHES!!!

I lived there from 7/99-10/99. It was horrible. It was infested with roaches, my buzzer never worked the doors didnt lock and the maintence never fixed it. My friend and i were followed in the parking lot by 4 gang members. (we´re 2 females) and they managed to get in to my building where i called the police. 2 weeks later there was a gang fight outside my building and there was blood all over the door. I called maintence and asked them to come clean up the blood for 2 days while i watched young children walk through dry pools of blood. That was the line and i moved out 3 days later. STTAAYYY AWWAAYYY!!! <br><br>

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

I lived here for 4 months and then I decided to break my lease. The apartment flooded twice because of the rain and all maintance did was bring in power fans to dry the carpet. There were roaches everywhere and the halls smelled of marijuana. Managment...Not friendly!!!! They did not want to do anything about the neighbors smoking weed, they asked "Can you prove it" <br>I did not feel safe in this place. People knock on your door all hours of the night trying to sell you something. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Don´t do it

Parking is a nightmare. The place is overcrowded. Its noisy and dirty. Several people had their cars broken into in the short time I lived here. Renovations are nonexistent although this place is sorely in need of them. The staff was rude and did nothing to help its tenants. The apartments looked like they hadn´t been remodeled since the 70´s. I hated living here. I was happy to leave. You can find a much better place to live for your money.

New Management Stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The property was ran better with the previous staff! Very pleasant and always caring about the residents needs! The previous staff worked together and cleaned up the property and now all the gang-bangers/trash are back again and West Chicagos finest don´t care anymore because the new management doesn´t either! Alot of unhappy tenants are moving because of new management!!! What ever happened to the previous Staff??? I have moved because the new staff is cold-hearted, Rude,never return calls,lie to residents while other residents are in the office, never pleasant and for what I pay for rent it is not worth it!!!! Calling the Management office is a nightmare!!! I suggust renting elsewhere!!!

If you can find and afford better, I highly recommend you keep looking.

The management company is only interested in collecting rent. The only make neccesary repairs and never take steps to go the extra mile. I have been there for over 4 years and when ui asked to have my carpet replaced because it was beginning to become threadbare in spots, they agreed to replace it on the condition that i remove all of my furniture from the apartment for 24 hours. I live on the 3rd floor, where am i supposed to put everything i own for an entire day?
