this is a really great place to live. nice buildings. nice staff. maintenance complies with your needs immediately. there could be a few more parking spaces in the smaller lots, though!

Avoid at all costs!
To begin with, management tries to bully everyone into being friends with everyone else. It's like a little cult.

Second, it is not cheap, they raise your rent every year, and the buildings are very old.

Third, parking can get very bad. During the winter they rarely plow, and when they do they leave piles of salt everywhere. It's like driving on gravel.

Fourth, maintenance is slow and does a very patchwork job.

Fifth, the appliances are almost all at least 15-20 years old.

Sixth, one washing machine for several units, and they raised the prices of washing and drying every year I lived there.

I could go on. For the money it costs to live here, I'd just go somewhere else.

So many complaints...
I don't know what I liked the least:

-The fact that our shower leaked through the ceiling onto our stove every day for a year.

-The fact that I called to have it repaired 3 times and the only thing they ever did was tear a large hole in my kitchen and leave pieces of drywall everywhere. They never repaired the hole.

-The murder that happened 5 spots from where I put my car every night (http://www.nbc5.com/news/5605107/detail.html).

-The fact that we were charged rent for 4 days after our lease ended and we had moved out, we were charged late fees for not paying that rent for the period after our lease was out, and obscene cleaning fees. For example, we were charged $100 to clean the top of our stove and over $500 in full.

I've already read other reviews criticizing the one washing machine for 6 homes, the parking, Mary being rude, loud kids, etc. It seemed like a good place at first, but the combination of water dripping onto the stove every day, people being shot in the head literally right where I park, and the obscene fees when we left were too much.

Stay away... they raise your rent every year and for that money you can get more.

Horrible Place to Live! Run! Rude Management!
HighCrest was the worst rental experience of my life. I chose HighCrest because the places are large, it looked nice, and the rent was reasonable. WHAT A MISTAKE! "M" from Management is the most horrible person I have ever meant in the business world. Words cannot describe her character. Nothing she said about the place was true. Parking was a nightmare! They never towed cars without a pass and there were about 4 cars per apartment so you end up walking 1/2 mile from your car to your apartment and being a female, that area can get a bit scary. Management always sent nasty letters and newsletters to the units, blamed people for things that they didn't even do and so on and so on.

My best advice is to STAY AWAY! Appearances don't mean anything.

renter beware
First of all the the parking is horrible!Don't come home after 10pm no parking is available! My husband had to take up to parking spots so i could park when i got home from work the tenants left nasty notes on our car and we were threatened eviction. Not knowing Woodridge's parking ban I had to park on the street and had my car towed and ticketed. We notified them we were looking to buy and going to sign a monthly lease and they rented out our unit without notice. We had no choice than to buy the first thing available or someone was going to be homeless.Maintance just drop of parts since my husband was handy! The only good thing here is the size you get for the $!

Not a place you want to live in.
I lives at Highcrest for 2 years (2001-2003) and my overall grade would be below average. The only positive were the space. I think we payed 1000 for about 1100 sq ft. The laudry room (if you want to call it that) was a joke. One washer and dryer for 6 families! RIGHT! The parking...@$^&U^$#%$@ dont get me started on that. Everyone had to get stickers, which my brother and I did and we still had our cars towed. And if you come home late forget about it!

Nice is you enjoy abnoxious neighbors and lots of kids
----- was the one we signed with and in fact moved into the same unit as her. We were never allowed to see the inside only walk past the outside. She promised us new cabinets and we did not get them only another promise to "remodel" during our stay here. We were also told the walls were soundresistant and you can't hear your neighbors, another lie. We heard children pounding on the walls, dogs barking and televisions/radios constantly. There is not a close park nearby, so all children play in the parking lots. You are within 5 feet of your neighbors patios so where your windows face is a great place to let in all the noise, smoke, and Barbeque grills. You are surrounded by 3 neighbors, not including the ones outside. These clustered townhomes do not have enough space around them. Our bad experiences with neighbors include: finding a cat purposely put in the community clothes dryer two days ago the owner told us, he was unhurt, someone wrote the "F" word on my car in fingerpaint. ---- and ----- always state they "run a tight ship" but that will never make up for obnoxious neighbors. Our renewal letter stated a rent increase which we were told at signing that the rent had not increased in years. My best advice to you is really research where you rent and be sure to look inside the exact one you will be staying in. Rental companies only care about making their wallets fatter. They will say anything to make their property appealing. If there is something they promised GET IT IN WRITING, that's the only way to be guaranteed. Also READ the leases, if you want to purchase a house ask the policies and get a rental addendum that states early termination if you have purchased a home. They won't even let you out of the lease if you die stated in ours!! Good luck in your search.

was so disappointed
I went into this apartment complex, talked to ------ about an apartment, and called back to tell her I was interested in the apartment and was told very rudely that ------ no longer works there. What a shock. ------ was wonderful. She is so informative, very helpful, and the only reason I would have rented is because of ------. So when the person on the phone was very rude about ------, I decided there is no way I will ever rent there. I was not impressed with the management to begin with. When they got rid of ------ they got rid of the best thing that ever happened to them.

I love my apartment!
I love my apartment...it is spacious and I adore townhome living. Both -------------- are great to deal with, as I look forward to stopping by the office to visit. Now mind you, I work a full time job, but it´s nice having the office open until 7pm so I can pick up my packages or just stop in to say Hi!

I recommend living there if you want friendly management and a great apartment.

Nice place to live
I have lived at Highcrest for the last 7 months. I have loved it! Not only are my neighbors fantastic, but ---- and her staff are excellent at getting things fixed when I put in a service request. The only downfall Highcrest has is it seems like it´s almost always full, and parking gets to be hectic. Overall, I love living there and wouldn´t move until I purchased a home!

Trash
If I could go back in time-I´d change my mind in picking this place to live. Once the new management company (AIMCO) took over (----, in general), the leasing agents were a pain to deal with. They never met our needs and always had an attitude when we asked them to fix something...along with untimely service. The last two weeks of our lease, we were in the process of moving out and were not in the apt. much at all....yet, I come there to find our tools missing, along with other various items. When I called to complain to ---- about letting people into our apartment, she got defensive on me and yelled at me on the phone and basically called my fiance stupid for even thinking that someone would steal his tools. Funny, the maintenance man had keys to all apartments and also funny that one time we found one of our belongings outside his backdoor! Hmmmmm....!!! The laundry room was gross-dirty as can be and broken have the time--and that was supposed to serve 8 units at once?? The trash was always all over the parking lot, the landscaping was crap and the whole complex was just cheap and trashy looking. Think twice before renting from them..if you want to be ignored after paying an extremely high rent to get nothing in return, that´s your choice.
