I LOVE this place!

I have lived in The Lakes for a couple years and have had the BEST experience. Angie is my favorite! Since they day I moved in, she has had "white glove" customer service!! The office staff is courteous and has always been so helpful. They throw celebrations throughout the year that really helps the community come together. My neighbors are all awesome and friendly, as well. The pool is amazing, as well as the grill :) The maintenance staff is amazing and takes care of requests immediately with a smile :) The property is always taken care of and very well maintained. I would choose this property over and over again!

The staff are amazing there!! They truly care for you and want what's best. They get excited to see your pets and remember their name!!! They have drinks, treat, and snacks for everyone that you can get anytime!! The work orders are completed in a very timely manner! I have nothing but good things to say about it!! The location is great as it's close to 465 and nice ranch of grocery/shopping stores!!

Nice, Quiet, & Friendly

I’ve lived here for about 6 months, and this neighborhood is perfect for what I was looking for. It’s quiet, especially for it to be located off 86th and Township. The office and maintenance staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. Even from my first tour, it never felt like the staff were focused on closing a deal. It felt like they truly cared about meeting all of my needs and checking off every box. Even now, as my family grows, they’re so supportive in helping me transition to a bigger floor plan! Neighbors here are pleasant and the neighborhood is always clean and very well maintained. You can tell the property management company, NTS, cares a lot about the residents by who they employ, how they maintain the grounds, and the updates they make to the units! 10/10 renting experience thus far!

Apartments are lovely and well maintained! Staff is really great!

I love living at the Lakes Apartments! My apartment is spacious and homey. The staff is really friendly and familial. I love the fact that I can decorate the walls the way I want and make my apartment my own. It's quiet and peaceful, all the neighbors are friendly. Maintenance is great. They normally come between 24 hours and are great with following up. The apartments also host events often which have been really fun.

Heaven-sent Management (and Maintenance!)

We scoured northwest Indy looking for an apartment complex to begin our growing family, with our first little one already on the way, and we finally settled on the Lakes apartments. The area seemed quiet, clean, and relatively inexpensive. What isn't visible, however, is just how incredible the management team here is. From the first time we contacted the Lakes to now, 8 months into our first year here, we've received nothing but warmth and support from Jessie, Angie, and Saymah. They're competent, and they truly care. We take walks to the clubhouse once or twice a week (or more often) to grab a snack and say hi, and it's so fun to watch them interact and develop a relationship with our baby boy. Whenever we've had concerns, we've felt comfortable reaching out to them for help, and we witness them do everything they can to help us out. Lastly, the maintenance team is top notch- they're very responsive, friendly, and dependable. We highly recommend joining the Lakes community!

This apartment complex is amazing! Free coffee and snacks, super clean, and the maintenance is so quick. Highly recommend anyone looking for an apartment to come check them out. Plus all the parties they throw, incredible!

Great place to live

We love living at The Lakes. The leasing office staff and the maintenance staff are wonderful. Every time Ive put in a work order it has been completed within 24 hours! The leasing office staff, especially Angie, loves to spoil our dog with treats! Our apartment was also remodeled before move in, including new appliances. We love the pickleball court, the pool, and the sense of community you get living here.

The staff is amazing and the grounds always look beautiful! We are always kept informed about what is going on in the community via email or text message. I appreciate this greatly! Great place to live on the North Side

We've lived here for 3 years and it's been great. The staff and maintenance crew are always friendly and helpful. They keep the grounds looking nice. The pool is awesome to go hang out and lounge in the summer. They throw community events throughout the year to get people meeting and involved. We have a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment and it's perfect for the two of us and our two dogs. The only issues we've had is with people periodically not picking up after their dogs. Other than that, we've had a completely great experience. I (28F) have always felt safe walking around by myself and that's a huge factor in feeling at home here.

We enjoy very much our Community. It is quiet, immaculate, maintained at a level never before experienced (we have rented extensively). Management and Resident Services are amazing. Saymah did a great job helping answer all our questions and getting us settled in to our new apartment. The complex is well maintained and safe. Our apartment was updated with brand new appliances when we moved it which was an unexpected bonus. Looking forward to the next year here!

My husband and I been here since 2019 and we love how quiet it is here. They really do a good job at keeping it nice and clean and the amenities are great. I also like how the maintenance crew is when it comes to getting something done. I do wish we had an updated apartment but other than that we really like it here.

The lakes apartments are standard finishings with many units having cabinets that are significantly older or in lesser condition that units shown to perspective tenants. When moving into our unit we requested that they paint the front of 2 cabinets with an additional coat since stains from previous tenants could be seen through the paint and Alexis from the office management team told us no and that if we did it ourselves it would be deducted from our deposit. Office and maintenance teams are under trained, staffed, and equipped to manage the full property. Communication and follow through regarding maintenance projects are abysmal. Animal waste regularly builds up around buildings at outer edge of complex with little interested to address this issue from office staff. Current policy is that anyone who doesn't pick up animal waste will be charge $70 but this is not enforced as they have no way of doing so.

The way this site does ratings allows poor complexes to somehow get decent ratings. This place will probably seem great if you come to visit. Don't believe the hype. You wouldn't see some of the bad things I mention below until you move in. To be fair, there are some positives to The Lakes (see bottom), but the bad outweighs the good. The Bad: 1) You can hear ALL of your neighbors. We live on the second floor and can hear our downstairs neighbor's TV every day. We've confirmed that it's not because he's got the volume way up, the walls are just that paper thin. We can also hear the neighbors through our kitchen and bathroom. 2) Everything is old and dated for the prices that you pay. The air conditioning has gone out multiple times in the middle of the summer. When it is running, it runs non-stop due to the poor insulation. Cabinets are cheap and cabinet doors are naturally starting to sag from the hinges. 3) There was an apartment fire in July 2019. We believe we were told it was due to faulty wiring in the building, or a problem with the circuit breaker. To our knowledge, none of the other buildings were checked, and if they were, we were not notified (which would have given us peace of mind). 4) Ants have gotten in through our exterior walls twice. We've also found a cockroach in the apartment once (which the complex confirmed was a cockroach through their pest control people). 5) Parking can be a nightmare if you arrive home late from work, depending on which building you live in. 6) There are no sidewalks in the neighborhood. When taking our dog on walks, we've almost been hit multiple times by cars coming around a curve because there is nowhere to walk except the street. There is a grass field to take your dog to, but it still requires walking in the street around a curve to get to. The Good; 1) Neighborhood seems safe. We haven't noticed any crime in the complex. 2) Pool and workout facilities are nice. 3) Maintenance staff responds quickly (I know because I've had to put in too many maintenance requests) and all of the maintenance guys are extremely nice and friendly. 4) Communication regarding the community is pretty good. For example, when they re-paved the complex, we received plenty of notice and info regarding what areas would be worked on and when.

I moved here at the lakes last late summer.I LOVE it because it is so assesible to all the Northside has to offer.Its in walking distance to grocery stores and resturants.I am not far from my family and my place of employment.I havent lived in an apartment for almost 25 years so I was very cautious and nervous about which apartment to choose,there are soo many.I narrowed my search down to a few and the Lakes was one of them.I drove over to get a feel for the apartment community and the 1st time it somehow felt right.I bought my sister there and she felt the same and I knew it was the place I would choose.I have been very happy clean,very quiet,has everything I need.I wish there was more lighting at night and several times this winter the walkways were not cleaned good, and I almost tripped and fell,but the last few snows the walkways were MUCH better,I also have a few maintenance issues that will be resolved..other that that its been good..I havent make it yet to one of their get to know you events though I am glad we have those regularly which is really nice and a way to get to know your neighbors that may not live in your building.So far my neighbors in my unit are great!..I look forward to more events here and the spring and summer..The office staff is soooo wonderful and kind and plesant,,thats a big plus!Thank you for making this a great place to live!

I have lived at the Lakes since May 2018 and I can say that this was the best decision I have ever made! I am so in love with my apartment. I have a beautiful river view and the grounds are always taken care of. The office staff are phenomenal and have always been helpful to any requests. From the residential events that are thrown quite often, you can tell that they truly care about their residents. We are a small, quiet & tight nit community and I wouldnt have it any other way. Neighbors are always out walking their pets or exercising, the maintenance staff are plentiful and always wave back & smile. I LOVE MY LAKES APARTMENT : )

Jake and Eddie are the best! My microwave handle came off and they installed a new one!! I have been here for only 6months and The Lakes Apartments is one of best apartment complex in Indy. It is a little bit expensive but I have peace of mind.

I have really enjoyed living at The Lakes. Staff and maintenance are very attentive and wonderful. The Lakes is approximately 25 minutes from downtown Indy, which is very convenient. The Lakes is minutes away from several shopping centers and right next to Kroger, Fresh Thyme, and Planet Fitness. I would have loved to stay, but had to move closer to work.
