Not as bad as they say???
I have been a resident with reisterstown for about 4 years before i finally bought my first home . The tenants here that i dealt with were all nice. I never really had any issues with the management staff or maintenance staff i recently had a small ceiling leak in my apartment before i moved and there on call person came within the hour fixed the leak and their house painter came the next day to touch up the hole that was made. I also never had any issues with the crime in the area either It baltimore for christ's sake!! its as safe as you are smart! the rent wasnt that bad either considering i was here for 4 years my increase was nominal. so all in all i give them two thumbs up .With a lot of promise in the future i know they are trying to keep things up as long as the neighbors keep it up with them.

DON'T DO IT
This is the worst place i have ever lived!!! The office staff is rude, unprofessional, incompetent and the biggest group of idiots I have ever come across in my life. Nobody in my building works, so there are always people out front and in the hallways. The mice and bug problem is ridiculous, I can't even identify the bugs because they are nothing I have ever seen before. Renting from these people is a mistake and huge waste of money.

Not all its cracked up to be.
I moved in these apartments back in April of 2007, when my lease was up, i moved out IMMEDIATELY!!! Dont get me wrong, the apartment arent dirty, i never had a problem with roaches, bugs, mice or anything of that nature, but maintenance, support staff, and management are the WORST. This was my first place of my own, i was 19 years old when i signed my lease, so to me this was heaven, i work downtown, so commuting on the subway was also a plus, because its RIGHT there. but in the winter, maintenance NEVER shoveled!! they'd wait til the snow was already turned into ice to put salt down, which defeats the purpose really, so the whole complex was like a ice skating rink. Whenever u needed anything fixed, dont either bother putting in a work order, because it'll NEVER get done properly, your better off fixing it yourself, or being friends with one of the maintenance men and paying them to do it as a side job if you really need something done, which is RIDICULOUS for the amount of rent they charge. i was paying 755 dollars for a one bedroom apartment. I did have a reletively quiet building, since it mainly consisted of older people, but someone was living out of one of the storage areas in the basement...so by me living alone, i didnt wanna go into the laundry room at all, i always had someone come over while i washed clothes, or i took them elsewhere. the rental office were aware of this, and they even posted notes saying the laundry rooms would be closed promptly at 9 pm...but they NEVER did this. the laundry rooms were always dirty, no one ever came to clean them, one weekend i actually took a broom and dustpan down there and swept the room myself, and sprayed lysol around. when the ceiling was leaking in the laundry room, it stayed that way for about a month and a half!!..then they had the nerve to make it even more of an inconvience to do laundry by creating these laundry pre-paid cards (like boost phones :)) where you had to go to the rental office (which they're never there!!) to put money on your card to wash clothes. Mind you, rent is high, so therefore people who arent on section 8 or something have to WORK to pay rent, and most full time jobs are from 8-5, when i got off, there was NO time for me to put money on my card, and on the weekends, they were NEVER inside to let me in to put money on it. i had to have someone drive up there during the day time while im at work, to put money on MY laundry card!!!! it was the worst. If you plan on moving up there, hopefully you dont drive, because theres absolutely NO parking spaces unless u get there before 7pm, if not u can forget about parking any where near your building!! Susan at the rental office has a serious attitude problem, and never lets you even explain what your asking about before trying to transfer or push u off to someone else. I've actually had to put her in her place a time or two!..Jason is kind of new there, and has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA about N E THING!! please, if Jason tells you something...pls ask someone else to be sure, because he never has n e idea what he's talkin about. Even tho he did give me the idea of checking the cable outside for connection before calling comcast!! i had FREE cable from April 2007 all the way until about Jan 2008 before comcast shut it off!! Thanks Jason!!!!!! : ) When i did finally move out, and they did the walk thru, they tried to charge me 200 for a rack that was missing from a dish washer that i NEVER USED not even ONCE!!!! so please be sure to check and make sure all racks and everything are inside of the dishwasher while during your walkthru before moving in...i wish i wouldve..but by that being my first apartment, i knew nothing about what goes inside of a dishwasher, yet alone how many shelves and racks are in it!!!! but they ended up just taking it out of my security depost, which i didnt mind, as long as i got up out of there. Also, you should try to always get home while its still light outside, because these apartments are DARK as hell when the sun goes down!! There is NO LIGHTING and the lamps they do have, dont do n e thing, and most of them are broken or going dead. Problems and issues never seem to get resolved unless u contact Beacon Management Headquarters yourself, then everyone from the rental office is calling making sure your problem gets handled. If your just planing on moving here for the time being, and for only maybe a year, then fine, but for a long term living arrangement, i wouldnt recommend this place, its toooo high for no reason at all besides the conveince of being near transporation, the plaza, the market, and shopping center. Oh yea...and most of the tenants are mexican or african lol..so try to find out who ur neighbors will be, before excepting an apartment..because the building next to mines had a ONE bedroom with like 10 ppl living in there, and when they had the blinds open u could SEE how they had blankets all over the floors where they slept (or napped or something lol)!! I wouldnt dare move up there again, i can say that for sure!!!!!!

I am going to save you some time right now
This was the worst place I have ever lived. I lived at Reisterstown Square for one year; as soon as the lease was up, I was out. If I could have moved out sooner, I would have with out hurting myself. They don't enforce anything in the lease except if you do not pay your rent on time. Never mind that they don't come fix anything on time, or even respond to your request unless you call the regional office. Every day I had to step over other people's children to get into my apartment. Complained and nothing was ever done. The floor boards in the floors were horrible, the windows would rattle evertime the people above me would walk across the floor. I moved out a little over a month ago, and still have not received my security deposit. I wouldn't recommend anyone to move there, you will be mad at yourself for not checking into thing more.

Worst in Baltimore
In the winter there is never hot running water.AT LEAST ONCE A DAY THE WATER IS ICE COLD. There is never a placed to park but if you park in spot for to long they will tow your car. Maintance issues are never fixed. I went 2 months without a working stove. I have mice in my appt, that they can't seen to get rid of. The have a club house with a fitness that has never been opened for the whole 3 years I have been living here. The pool was open last year but not the year before that. The rent goes up every year. If you are late paying your rent, they post an invoice on the glass window next to the door where everyone can see it.

mice infested, robbed at gun point, no a/c, no refridgerator, and a power surge
i have never taken the time to write a review on anything before, but this place is the worst. I could write a book on it. I live here for 5 months before breaking the least and runnig for my life. Have you seen the movie "Ben", well that is as close as I can come to discribing the mice infestation of this apartment. ------ hood mice is what we called them. They were there first and they were not leaving, i felt as if i was invading their space. I also was robbed and forced into my apartment at gun point by two guys that assumed i was alone, which in short ended in gun fire. The apartment managment never showed any concern about my well being nor did they even inquire about the whole incident. They refused to change the locks on my apartment doors after i explained to them that the robbers stole my keys. But was kind enough to inform me if i wanted them changed i could go to home depo and buy a new lock and change them my self. If that is not enough to scare you away, My refrigerator never worked. They would not repair or replace. My apartment had a power surge which destroyed and ruined two televisions, a stereo and a microwave that the said they were not responsible for.

getting there
The Maintenance team there are not professional at all. The experience level is vryyyy lowwww. This the reason for qaulity work not being done. I think the management have to consider getting a leader that will do followup on the maintenace team and proper metoring/ couseling would help the qaulity of work that being preformed, also have someone that is more experience to keep up with the maintenance issues. Rent is grossly too high seems to me that the tenant are paying for the mistake of the workers..I did notice how they work there; more like zombies wait to feed...walk around just doing enough to get by until closing time..this is not good business practice. I think that over all it could the best complex in the city giving it proximoty to everything around the community..but the tenants should have to suffer to get this level of recognition. Come on lets step up and be more professional not personal..

The WORST and what a Mess Management place in !!!!
I would like to start off by stating WOW.. God Lend me to this Page!!!
I applied for this complex back in 2003 - 2004. Management came across as being honest and organzized. The grounds seemed to be safe compare to where I was coming from Manhattan, New York (hell Kitchen) for those who know the area-
I moved in and found my SO CALL APT> READY TO MOVE IN actually NOT ready to move in.
I had problems with PLASTERING within the BATHROOM -LIVINGROOM and Kitchen, PLUMBING, HEATING SYSTEM AND InVASION of PRiVACY.
Upon signing my Lease, I was PROMISED A THOUSAND LIES WHich took months to repair that I became FED UP with Mainteance along with MANAGEMENT>
I sat down with management and explained my unsatisfactory care for the Property along with decision to relocate back to NEW YORK. MAnagement agreed and we had settled peacefully....huh!!
To think... two - four months of coming back home. I received a supeona from my BANK for SEIZED BANK account which was accountable for DOUBLE of the seized amount requesting... THIS IS NOT HOW HONEST BUSINESS PEOPLE DO BUSINESS***

This property management had turn hands over and no records recovered of terms /agreement for breakage of lease due to the APT NOT BEING PREPARED AND READY AS STATED... Now I fighting a battle for all the ABOVE REASONS -...THIS IS THE WORST AND RUN WHILE U CAN IS RIGHT!!!!!!!RUN I SAY!!!!
Nice Sized Apartments-Lousy Management-Too High Priced For Conditions
Management at first was good...then a new team came in and things went downhill fast. The Sanitation department was called several times due to overrunning of vermin and roaches and Management was unresponsive to complaints. Apartments are a nice size, but the pricing is too high for the locale and the condition of the place overall. Nice to look at initially, but once you are in there, you soon start looking for another place to live. Stayed there until child finished school nearby then moved.

For whatever its worth this is the worst apartment situation i have been in. I have mice, and a slew of other problems that have taken weeks to get fixed. My ceiling began leaking sewage and it took them over a week to get it fixed.

Don't believe the hype
My experience has been a beautiful one here at reisterstown square. Of course we my have minor gliches in certain maintenace issues, overall your children are safe to play outside and you are safe enough to patrol the area. You can live in paridise and allow one bad apple to spoil your happiness. yes, mice are an issue but this community is just as safe as any other complex.Beautiful and spacious. the rent is just a little steep for many of the tenants to pay. If one does not pay rent how do you expect the management to pay to have things fixed. i went outside of the apartment one morning and saw a nightmare. I thought jesus was coming. there were as many eviction notes to cover almost every complex per 12 units. so if the rent is to high don't apply. no one can live for free. there's a bus that come and pick the children up from school and it's just beautiful here. maybee because i am willing to pay for comfort and remember were i came from.

Not Surprised
I lived in Reisterstown Square Apartments for almost 10 years. Yes I know that is a long time. For the most part is was a good experience. However the last couple years I was there it was beginning to severely deteriorate. I liked the spaciousness of the apartment but other than that, the mice were EXTREMELY bad. The noise and crime in the area was increasing. The office staff was very unfriendly and unwilling, it seemed, to help much. It was definitely at a place where it was not worth the money. That is why I decided to move.

What!!!
I was a resident in Reisterstown Square Apartments from 1992-1999. We had a wonderful experience. The residents were friendly. The staff (office and maintenance) were professional, helpful and caring. We used the pool house for parties and had monthly parties. During the summer we had Jazz festivals. I don't know what happened to the old Reisterstown Square. I can relate to some of the things being said about them. In the latter years, the office staff did become unprofessional and uncaring. We had roaches and mice. They put trash dumpsters outside and that started the ball rolling to slumhood.

these apts. could be very nice. they are convenient to public transportation, stores, and could be very attractive. however, they need new, strong management. management that can do something without New Jersey interferring. Since I moved in we have lost a lot and gained nothing: lost trash pick-up, free gas, good maintenance. The best maintenance person is moving on to a better job after 20 some years. Now what will we get. The dumpsters are always running over, and no one on the week-ends come out to clean around them. The halls are not cleaned often enough. Balconies still have clothing, etc. on them, not used just for a patio with patio furniture, but stored objects. The management cannot run this large complex sitting behind the desk all day. You must get out and check on grounds, hallways, trash, etc. Sidewalks are broken, and have been for months. At least give us something back. The rent continues to go up. Gas meters put in, but some not properly and safely. The smell of gas is apparent in some apartments. I know of a lady who cleans her apartment bldg. because the workers do a poor job and she gets tired of telling the rental office. If you can help it, don't move in. The comments are from residents still here. However, there was a tenant's association at one time, but it dissolved and New Jersey does not another one to take place. WHY? You figure it out!!

"Don't Get it Flipped"
I don't want you to get the wrong impression. These aprtments are not what they lead you to beleive. In Fact they are far below. they are thives and they will have you think ing that you are getting high quality s*** when you aren't getting anything but s***. pardon my language. If you call and ask the people in the rental office, they are going to tell you that these ratings are coming from past residents that got evicted. i'm am here to tell you, they are lying. we are still living here only because of a contract. and if some are from people who were evicted. i don't blame them i wouldn't pay their sorry a**es either. i would rather be evicted. every thing the ratings and coments say are true. every last little thing. If you are new to Baltimore, please find another complex because once you move here you will want to go back to where ever you are from. I want to discourage you from moving into these apartments. these people need to be shut down. any problem you can think of it is here. let me explain to you how incompotent these maintenance men are <the doggone maintenacne supply room exploded> why and how on earth would the damn maintenace room explode? DUMD ASSES is why. Oh and don't forget about the people living up stairs from the maintenance room. (ALL THEIR STUFF GONE). Oh wait a minute. let me tell you how we lived in an apartment without a kitchen light for a month. not because we didn't pay BGE but the light blew out and we needed a new one. i came home one day and 5 maintenance men were standing around (3:30 pm) conversating like they were off duty. I had to walk over to them and tell them to go get the kitchen light that i had been calling about everyday. (LAZY!). it makes me sick to my stomach every time i think about how we pay their salaries and they still do nothing. i can't understand how an apartment complex like this is still up and running. maybe because they take up so much space, but they need to at least lower the rent at least $200 so the residents would be getting what they are paying for. i can get a better place to live on section 8. During the summer if you have the windows and porch door open, when the CSX train comes through you have to run through the house and close all of the windows and doors so the sound won't be like it's running directly through the house; glad i don't have any babies. the train runs at least 6 times a day and don't forget 3:00 am along with the mice literally screaming in the closet. Oh i can't forget to tell you about the looney people who live there taking fresh dumps in the hallway. and if you accidentally spill something in the hallway. don't worry they will leave it there for you to clean and if you don't clean it i will be there from the time you move in until the time you move out and probably two years after. i heard this place used to be nice. but i guess that was before the sorry a** property manager (Dione). Oh yes I'm giving names. He doesn;t know what the hell he is doing. The lady in charge of the maintenance department probably left beacuse she was about to go crazy from everyone in the entire complex calling about mice, and broken appliances. i know she was cursed out everyday. a neighbor of mine got carbonmonoxide poisoning because the contractors that they hired to install individual gas lines left the lines unattached. which leaked enormous amounts of gas into the apartment. Can you guess what they got for thier compensation? $20 gift card to GIANT. WOW one of the most expense markets in the city. that's two bags of chips and a 2 liter. I don't even have to use the phone to talk to my neighbor i can just talk though the wall. once me and my roommate were joking and playing around. when we imitated a Mad TV series where a cop and a robber was yelling at eachother "PUT DOWN THE GUN!! well the nieghbors called the police. 10 minutes later when we had stopped playing, 5 police came banging on the door with guns out and everything; telling us to get against the wall becuase they got an anonymous call saying that some one said "PUT DOWN THE GUN". but wait i don't talk to my neigbors because they all seem to have mental problems. one time i seen the little girl that lived next to me come out side on the porch and just pee, she let it run on down the side of the porch. a couple days later i was around the courner and i saw her pull her pants down and pee on the side of the biulding. she must have been marking her territtory. the only thing that does s*** like that is wild animals. i might as well go live in the damn jungle. So if you still want to live here bring your bleach, cat, mousetraps, more mousetraps, super quite voice, all types of light bulbs, cell phone because we don't even have telephone jacks in the apartment, plaster in case you bump the wall, a stove, a refigerator, a dishwasher, a washer and dryer. Oh and make sure that you have minutes on your cell phone because you are going to burn your phone up calling and calling and calling the rental office. all they are going to do is laugh at you when they leave for the day with your s*** still broken and the mice sitting on the couch watching TV with you, or brushing thier teeth while your on the damn toilet.

Save Yourself...
I have lived in this dump for almost three years. When this lease is up, I'm done. I stayed here thinking things would get better, NO WAY! Dispite the measures we take to keep this dump clean, the apartment is constantly over-run with roaches, ants, mice and millipedes. The cost of living in this dump is way too high for the service you get. Our central air stays broken. The water can be shut off at any time, even though the cost is included in the rent. Maintanence men loiter throughtout the property and come to fix your problems whenever they feel like its a good day to do a half assed job. The exterminator visits the property once a week and only visits 12 units. By the way, he also does a half assed job. Parking is a night mare after a 10 pm. You might as well park your car on Park Hieghts and catch the bus home. I know all my neighbors business as well as they know mine, cause the walls are paper thin and if you bump up against them too hard, they'll cave in. The only consistent thing about this place is the grounds keepers that have been hired from an outside company. They faithfully keep the lawns and bushes neat. Last spring, the management decided that they didn't want to pay for gas anymore, so they got some crummy contractors to come in and install separate gas lines. The contractors knocked holes in the walls (holes that are still there almost 6 months later) installed the gas lines and turned the gas on without hooking the lines up to the appliances. We came home and our apartment was filled with gas that could have exploded at any moment. Besides the fact that they almost killed us, the holes they left in the walls are now a breeding ground for rodents, who enter and exit as they please. Mouse droppings are every where and if you call the office to tell them your problems, they either don't pick up the phone or brush you off like your portion of the sky high rent doesn't keep their sorry asses open. Living in this place was THE worst dicision I have ever made in my life, up to this point, and if you value your safety, your health and your life, save yourself the time it takes to make a trip to the rental office that runs this pit.

At Your Own Risk
These Apartments are over rated. I personally don't feel that they are worth half of the money they are asking for. the service is horrilbe, nothing works right everything is old and it takes weeks and months for the maintenance to come out and fix things. and then when they finally do come out to the apartment the job is incomplete. I also want to point out that there is a serious mouse infestation. The mice run all through the apartment like they are pay ing rent and they leave mouse droppings all over the stove, microwave, closets, beds, sofas, counter tops, bascially any and everywhere. They sqeak in the middle of the night in your bed room, having more mouse babies; and when the exterminator comes, (which is only once a week to see only 12 different apartments) he doesn't do anything. and if the maintenance patches the HOLES in the base board the mice open them back up. Yeah, Reisterstown square is good if you want to live in a piece of crap while they take your money. Oh yeah, the little gym suck and the hot tub hasn't been run or cleaned in three years.

City ------
I was a current resident of Reistertown Square for 3 years and I must say it has been the worse living experience in my life. You may ask, Why the Hell did I stay for so long! The number one reason is the location. It was accesible to 695 because I was currently attending Towson University.

From the moment that I moved in it was nothing but problems. Mice small and big, bats..yes bats!and all sorts of creepy crawlers that visit you at night. The walls were super thin,so you might as well invite your neighbor over to engage in your conversation. One of the most irritating things that I faced while living there was that I had a loud and obnoxious neighbor who thought that her home was a club/bar. All of the neighbors constantly complained about her and nothing was done. All that was said we will send her a thirty day notice to comply. Whatever!

Now let's talk about maintenance. Each maintenace person is assigned 100 units. From what I seen there were only two aintenance guys that I knew of that did all of the work while the others were engaging in extracurricular activities while they were on the clock. My roof caved in during the raining season and it took them 6 months to fix that. My bathroom wall was knocked out while I was on vacation, and my tires have been slashed twice. There are 11 apartments in each building and between 2 buldings we had to share 2 washers and 2 dryers. I had to constantly remember to wash my clothes late at night or during the day.

I also do not want to forget the most undesirable and nasty part is that teenagers and adults were having sex in the laundry room and the workout room, and parents allowed their kids to play in and out of the buildings. To all who are reading these reviews, please do not move here, it will be nothing but "Hell Island" for you from the moment you sign that lease. convenience of the area.

Extremely poor management & unprofessional staff
I am not at all satisfied with their maintenance service. It is worst than a nightmare. I have a leaking bathroom ceiling and bad air conditioner for more than a month now. I have made several calls and left the message. No one returns the calls. The last time they showed up they ripped the whole ceiling apart and no one came week after...I called today and maintenance person says I dono the status I will look into it. Extremely poor management and unprofessional staff.

I have managed to live here my entire lease, but this place is horrible. There is no lighting when you go home at night. There are people walking around you patio all the times. many empty promosies and poorly done work
Initially, i enjoyed by apartment and it's convenient location. However, I have found they are extremely slow in doing maintenance repairs and then they are less than half done when they do arrive. For example, I asked that screens be placed on the windows and after 2 months they were placed but did not actually fit the window! At one point I switched apartments which they rushed me to do only to find out it was because the head of maintenance wanted to move into my old apartment. The new apartmetn was dirty, unpainted, had wash cloths and tissue stuffed in cracks and then painted over to disguise the improper fit of flooring and wood panels. Now they willno longe rpay for gas and are disrupting the lives of all the tenants by cutting hole in the walls and placing gas lines, leaving some hole for days at a time. i am sorry I moved here.
