Wonderful environment;MAINLY Military personnel
This property is an excellent apartment complex. The Military people live on this property; therefore, it's safe and quiet. If we had problems, they fixed it. To name a few, water leaking when it rained through the front bdrm windows, minor problem with washer;missing knob, light fixture loose. They were really minor and were fixed. If you compare this property to many properties in PG county. This is heaven! I love it here! It's sooooooo quite; I can hear myself think. The entire team is helpful and great! Regarding the other commenter...there are only a few chilren on the property...I have 3 and there are about 9 other children getting on the bus in the morning. With any new construction, there will be problems, but they are sure to fix it and tell you before they enter your apt. They do routine maintenace of your heating/AC units, which includes filters. So, you as the resident don't have to remember anything. They have it under control. Just live! They are also building 250 more units starting this month. So, come on in!

Nice place
Despite some contruction problems (that have not affected me in any way), Abberly Crest is great. It's quiet and safe, and the staff are professional and friendly. And the apartments are very spacious, especially the ones the third floor.

Love It Here
I truly enjoy living in Abberly Crest. The staff is great and truly work to help as best as they can. Despite having construction issues, they're doing repairs well beyond what I would have expected the average complex to do.

As with any apartment, your neighbors make a big difference. Mine are great. I've heard numerous sides battling over whether they take Section 8 or not. I cannot confirm what if any live there, but I called the St. Mary's County Housing Authority and was told they do have Section 8 (or at least are allowed/supposed to). As an FYI, you can find between 2 to 4 cop cars in the lot at any given time that represent the police officers who live there, which I consider a very positive thing.

Basic - but recommended.
Not exactly a paradise as advertised. However, the apartments are new and spacious. The construction is not the best. You will hear your neighbors living upstairs and the guests walking up the stairs. We were not very happy with the "central airconditioning" not even after several attempts to fix it. We lived in one the furnished guest houses. The furnture were below par. The kitchen was well equipped except the dishwasher was one of the cheaper models and noisy. Inspite of this it is still one of the better rentals in the area. Enjoy it while they are relatively new.

Poor Construction
My wife and I moved here around October and were very excited to be moving in to (by far) the nicest looking apartments around. The fact that they were brand new made it even nicer. Of course upon moving in there were quite a few things wrong (dishwasher, dryer, disposal, heater, etc didn't work) which is understandable being new. The front office has been incredibly helpful and always greeted us with a smile. Our only really big disappointment has been the poor construction... i'll just list:
front door put on crooked
construction writing all over the door frame
drip marks from paint all over interior
rusty nails on the porch and stairwell
windows didn't lock and leaked
and the worst part is we can hear our upstairs neighbors EVERY move. They go to the bathroom, we hear it. They flush, we hear it. They walk from the bedroom to the kitchen, we hear it. I can tell you exactly where they are at almost any given time. You can also hear everyone going up and down the stairs. So my suggestion is if you do move here, you'd better pick a top floor.

Very Nice Place but Seems Construction was Rushed
My wife and I have to give this apartment and it's community five stars all around except for a minor few odds and ends that should have been tied up construction wise before we moved in. For example our guest bathroom tub didn't work properly (the maintainance man showed up within two days and was very very friendly taking off his shoes even upon entering,) there are 4-5 "mud" spots on the walls that still need light sanding and repainting, they must've had the new guy painting outside because there were paint drops all over my balcony walls and floor (even a couple of small small ones on the carpet inside,) and a piece of the window frame above the back door wasn't secured properly enough and is falling. The construction otherwise is adequate...this apartment was brand new when we moved in so a couple glitches is expected. Also it's a long hike to their method of garbage disposal. From our apartment (on the third floor) we have to walk either a couple of blocks through construction to use the worker's dumpsters that on occasion overflow or walk roughly 4-5 blocks distance to use the complex's only trash receptical. This actually proves to be a nice walk but when you're moving in and are generating a lot of trash and have to make several trips to the dumpster a few blocks away from the third deck...it gets old. When I asked if this was the permanent trash situation the girl in the office (who as well has been more than accomodating and very polite and professional) said it was a possibility until the second phase is built onto the neighborhood. Five stars for parking; with the noise level, I'm only occasionally aware I even have neighbors, the neighborhood is well manicured and very presentible with the exception of ongoing construction; the neighborhood appears to be very safe and is indeed well lit; the maintainence and office staff here are very congenial and helpful and have been a pleasure to deal with entirely.

First let me start by saying I am a temp. currently working here at Abberly Crest,(and not hiding as anonymous)and, I am not a permanent employee here so I should not be considered biased, but I will have to correct a few negative things that were said from the last writer.1) There is no male working in the leasing office that could have been rude. 2) This is the big thing, Abberly Crest does not accept section 8,(and that is not to say anything negative towards section 8, because I strongly believe that a LOT of people on sec. 8 have been poorly judged as a human being. All people that need the assistance of sec. 8 are NOT bad people.) so there is no section 8 neighbors with bad kids residing at Abberly Crest, in fact, there are very few kids currently living at Abberly Crest. 3) No one tries to get anyone to sign short leases because of any hiden motives, in fact the shortest lease term offered is 9 months. Now what I don't understand about this individual who had so much negitive things to say, is why would anyone that does not and has never resided at Abberly Crest have such a negative attitude towards a place they know absolutely nothing about. If you would like to comment about something, then please do the research yourself and base all of your negative comments on your own personal experiances and then, hopefully your comments will have some truth to them verses so much fiction. Hopefuly, this is just a case of a mistaken identity between apartment homes. Because everything written in that last passage is 100% fiction. So for anyone that is looking for an apartment home, I strongly suggest you go to Abberly Crest and check it all out for yourself and I can assure you will not be disappointed. All apartment homes have there pro's and con's but I do believe that Abberly Crest, being a brand new development, should be given a fair chance.

Nice on the outside but they take SECTION 8
I Don't know why a nice place like this would accept section 8 vouchers. They are just so expensive to that is the bad part about it all. How do sec. 8 people afford these rates? We all know what kind of people that is going to draw in. I have a girlfriend is a school teacher living there and recently got a section 8 neighbor with horrible kids. She just moved in two weeks ago and is thinking of moving out since the neighbors are so bad. Not all sec. 8 people are bad but this is a nice place that can be run into the ground by the wrong residents. Another thing I know is that they want you to sign shorter lease terms so they can hike the rents up over $100 when you re-new the agreement. The guy manager there is also very rude. I wouldn't want my worse enemy living here unless her name was kimberly. I would highly suggest another nearby community.

I live in the apartments at Abberly Crest and have for well over a month, they have been open since the middle of August to renters. Never once have I seen a man working at the office. I have always had great experience when talking to any of the managers or workers. I Strongly suggest that whoever you are writting such a bad review about this apartment complex and you don't even live here, do your research before posting something so fictional. My husband and I love this place, we lived in the Greens (right across the street) for a year and this place is so much better than the Greens will ever be. The maintenance if we need any is done within 2 days, and with only one person working the maintenance thats excellent. We always know when they have been in the apartment and we are asked if maintenance can come in when we are not home, not only that but they take there shoes off. Also where is there any apartment complex that doesn't have children that are just a bit to much for the neighbors to handle somedays. The best thing your girlfriend can do is report the noise or talk to the manager, who I know cares about how you feel. You know the worse thing about your review is that you assume and you know what happens when you assume, I would recommend this place to anybody asking about it. It's the best apartment complex in town.
