I have the most expensive unit in the building and for the money, I would recommend renters go elsewhere. When I have referred others, the referral bonus is NEVER paid. So that's a joke, so why would I refer anyone else.

    When we moved in two years ago this apartment was great, we absolutely loved our time here. The location is great and the building staff were great. Since resigning our lease 8 months ago the building is now almost 25% Airbnb's. They don't respect the community, it is loud 24/7, and they leave trash in the hallways. Being surrounded by them makes it very difficult for us to work from home which is an issue as we are both fully remote. If you are looking for a community this is not the place to be, if they ever get rid of the Airbnb's then I would definitely consider moving back, however, they just keep adding more Airbnbs.

      Staff is friendly and quick to respond. Been here over a year and love this apartment as well as its location. Lots of walkability. Great food options nearby. The Parthenon is right next door and it’s a short few minute drive to downtown. Really have no complaints.

        AIR BNB PLACE - STRANGERS EVERYWHERE

        DONT LIVE HERE!!! This place is not only unkept, dirty and not managed well (I had a roach infestation they denied to care about last year) - all my neighbors are air bnb’s and strangers are EVERYWHERE every other damn day. Air BNB's but also weird locals who some how get in.. not some how, the doors are literally always open somewhere. management doesnt care because air bnb's are not their problem, but I have never felt more unsafe and I lived in the trenches of NYC. The parking garage gate to keep us ‘safe’ has been broken every other month that I have lived here, and no safety measures ever to make sure we care kept safe. strangers chill on are constantly in an our chillin on our room, taking car pictures and I literally watched a drug exchange on the 5th floor. This building is so unsafe there was a SHOOTING at an air bnb unit that had 30 people (NON residents literally locals) come chill at, look it up on the news 5/28/24. Literally BS.

          Worst Apartment-Predatory

          Moved into this apartment due to its proximity to Vanderbilt University. At first, the people were very nice, but the new management kept converting more and more apartments to AirBNBs, making the apartment noisy, unsafe, and unpleasant to live in. The management quickly changed while we were there but not for the better. The new people were rude, uncaring, and liars. The property manager who inspected our apartment told us that they were going to repaint and redo our apartment and to only worry about cleaning. After spending several days deep cleaning the apartment, we left and assumed that we would receive our full deposit or close to it. Instead, I opened the mailbox at my new and much better apartment and found that I received a check for just a few dollars. I called and asked why and received no explanation other than that I should have been emailed a document explaining the charges. I did not receive any communication and I was lied to by the management of the property. This has been a nightmare experience that I would not wish on anyone. Elevators were broken constantly, no matter how many maintenance requests we never had hot water, broken appliances, paid for amenities that were constantly being reduced, and even paid for parking when they completely removed the gate, making it open access to anyone. Do not rent here, they only care about their AirBNBs and overcharge as a result. You will have a much better experience anywhere else I promise.

            The worst apartment in Nashville

            I lived at Elliston 23 in 2018 and returned this year in 2022 because I had previously had a good experience. Ever since the change of management, things have gone extremely downhill. (Although they comment they have new management to improve, they are now managed by the worst management yet - details below) The apartment I moved into was absolutely filthy and the complex is covered in trash. Sometimes piled as tall as myself in the parking garage. As well, the parking garage gate is constantly propped open. I have had my car broken into many times. It is no wonder people can continue to steal around the complex. The security in the building is a huge concern. I have had hundreds of dollars worth of packages stolen with no consolation by the management from the time they have taken over until we have a new service in place. (Update - they added a new service that is better for deliverability, however you must be there to get the package because of the amount of random people wandering the building) The apartment has set up upwards of 50 air bnbs scattered through the complex. When I was looking for a new home I specifically asked if they would do that because I would not live in a place that hosted airbnbs and they lied to my face to trap me in a lease. If you choose to live here, you will constantly be faced with strangers, partiers, and all else that nashville brings. The construction around the apartment is atrocious and the paint fumes in my unit today were enough to make my dog sick. When I went to express my concern, not only did the leasing agent tell me “he did not care” and “it was my fault for living in a construction zone” which I was unaware of at the time of my lease - but the only thing close to an apology was telling me I should buy out of my lease if I was unhappy. He was disrespectful and aggressive. After you sign your lease, they will not be helpful to you. The inability to make positive change or apologize for their countless mistakes is something I’ve never experienced. I would not recommend anyone to live here, no matter what deal they offer you to pressure you into signing.

              Rent elsewhere

              The building is not secure . First floor door always propped open . Second floor garage door does not close, so it’s always open ( I have made staff aware with an email ) gym and game room torn apart after I moved it. They will not discount rent ( I’m paying Peloton) . Deceptive billing : I paid September rent while paying August utilities in the rears ( maxes sense). Now October bill wants me to pay August utilities . So beware. I was charged for someone else’s utilities for the month of July when I moved in August 28th Also trash is $62 per month. Cannot opt out Look forward to Moving out in November

                Headache and a Half

                All i can really say is “do not live here.” My son lived here in college due to its proximity to Vanderbilt. Every single person in the leasing office is less competent than the last. When we were in town for 2 days to move him in, they tried to tell us that they would not allow him to move in for a week after the lease began because they had not properly prepared the unit in time. Offered no explanation as to why and no offer of compensation to us. Turnover in the office is extremely high (anyone’s guess as to why, the new employees are no better than those they replace) and they seemingly have no means of transferring accounts from previous employees and to new ones. It’s a headache and a half.

                  Do Not Live Here

                  Horrible place to live. Management is a ---- show, no one in the office has any clue what they are doing except trying to get as much money from you as possible and accommodate you as little as possible. They screwed by friend out of his entire security deposit but didnt even contact him to report any damages whatsoever. Fined me $350 for a dirty oven when I moved out. Im in college, I dont use ovens, I use Doordash. Also, its all college kids, if you arent I would not recommend living here in general.

                    Horrible Living Experience

                    Do not live here. Do not give your business to these people. No one in their office deals in good faith whatsoever and they will try to screw you out of every dollar they can and provide you nothing in return. Maintenance request are impossible, online rent payment service hardly works and no one in their office has any ability to help you. My room has a horrible odor that they couldnt find the source of for months and ultimately had to move us units after months of negotiating.

                      WORST Management Ever!

                      Do not rent here. The Management is horrible. Non-responsive. Ignoring all emails and phone calls. They do not return your security deposit. They violate tenant rights and they violate Tennessee law. They provide no explanation for their illegal withholding of the security deposit.

                        The pool is fun but, Save your money.

                        I’ve lived in Elliston 23 for almost a year now. They switched over management companies on June 1st at 4pm…the day rent is due. We were told that all of our leases would remain the same and that was simply not the case. We had meetings with our previous management to keep the same price for our apartment if we stayed another year…now the new management isn’t honoring that. Their prices for two beds two baths are well over 3,000 and I promise y’all, it’s not worth that kind of money. There’s other amazing places in midtown that are WAY cheaper and same location. The trash rooms in the garage are filthy. There are weeks when garbage just stays piled up and then just shoved down in the trash, instead of cleaning that part of the garage so it doesn’t smell like garbage 24-7. I sent an email probably 10 times asking to see a two bedroom and what the price would be for current residents and my question simply never was answered, so I decided to move out and now I owe all this extra money even though my lease will be over. When I moved in, my apartment was disgusting. Black mold continues to grow in my shower and in my toilet. It is something I have to clean more than once a week and I just know they will pull the security deposit --------. The last management company was rough and I understand it’s hard to switch over the way our new management has but, it’s very clear that they can’t wait to get current residents out of the building, and that’s sad. The best part about this place is the pool. Other than that, I’m really happy to leave. my appliances break once a week and I’m so over talking to rude --- people.

                          The worst apartment management in town. Horrible horrible people to deal with. They’d do anything for money. Albeit good location, you’ll thank yourself later if you’d go with some other place than Elliston 23. By the way, please do not falsely believe the positive reviews. The management does their best till you sign the lease, asks you to post a positive review (like I did a month after I moved), then shows its real face. They literally charge you as much as they can, including your security deposit, with false claims. Even more sad is I’m not the only one if you’ll scroll down and read more negative reviews. After living here for 2.5 years, I honestly truly regret it.

                            The management team is incompetent, doesn’t explain any of your bills, and charges you for anything they can to. When we moved in the apartment wasn’t clean and there were toilet rings in the bathroom. We thoroughly cleaned it at move out, yet they made false claims about a dirty apartment, didn’t take pictures, didn’t provide contact information for the inspector, and didn’t give us the deposit back. The entire building smells, the carpet is constantly stained. Cars are constantly broken in to. We were falsely advertised a balcony. Do not live here!

                              My wife and I moved in to our studio apartment in Late June and we have had a great move-in experience. Jan and Heather (Leasing Consultants) have been very professional, friendly, and caring, and helped make our move-in easy. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and quiet. Access to the parking garage is granted with a remote and there is plenty of parking spots. The fitness center and equipment is current, clean and well-maintained. Apartment appliances are well-maintained and current. I can walk to work, which I love. We are quite happy here and I would definitely recommend Elliston 23 to anyone looking for accommodation in the Vanderbilt / Midtown area. Mike and Evelyn

                                STAY AWAY FROM THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY! THEY DID NOT COMPLETE A MOVE OUT INSPECTION ON THE APARTMENT MY DAUGHTER VACATED BECAUSE THEY HAD "TOO MANY MOVE OUTS". NOW THEY CLAIM WE DID NOT CLEAN THE KITCHN APPLIANCES AND BATHROOMS. MY DAUGHTER AND HER ROOMMATE SPENT 6+ HOURS CLEANING! THE UNIT WAS A COMPLETELY OUTDATED WITH OLD APPLIANCES! THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM AND CATEGORIES MY DAUGHTER AS THAT "TYPE OF RENTER". DO NOT TRUST THEM!

                                  The noise level throughout the night is extremely loud and late parties (not just on weekends, which I don't mind and understand, but a lot of parties were on random Wednesday and Thursday nights) would consistently wake me up in the middle of the night. The pool area is a huge echo tunnel that makes even the smallest conversation between 2 people super loud. When complaining to management, they told me to go out when this happens and find the apartment and report it to them. There is no on-site security number to call, apparently I was expected to be Detective Gadget at 2 am on a Thursday night in an apartment building with over 500 apartments. At one point they hired an off-site security company that had like a 30-min wait time for arrival. At one point it got so bad that I reluctantly called the police because an apartment was sooo loud for hours and this was a time they didn't have any security. The police dispatcher called me 30 minutes later asking if I could go let the officer in downstairs because they were unable to get in the building. So in a pinch, the police can't even get inside. Not safe. The management team would be super defensive and not address concerns. For example, at one point we had packages literally covering the entire designated package area and half of the actual leasing office. I had 2 packages go missing on 2 different occasions during this time. This was a couple $100.00. Thankfully one company resent my item but the other did not because it was delivered successfully. When I went to the office to let them know what was going on, the leasing manager told me they are not responsible for keeping my packages safe on the property and I need to talk to the delivery company. This is just one example of the refusal to be responsible for what happens on the apartment grounds. The workout equipment LOOKS good. Several of the workout equipment are broken, including 2 of the tread mills. One was extremely loud when being used, so loud it was distracting to everyone working out so we all just avoided that one. and another would literally stop in the middle of your workout. I reported this one because it could be potentially harmful if someone is going at a decent speed. Not even a sign was put on it. For years. When I moved out, I got an absolutely ridiculous charge of $850.00. They kept my deposit of $400 and charged me an extra $450.00. They charged $150.00 per room cleaning fee. I did not have any pets, I don't smoke, no kids. The apartment was in great shape. I called asking about the charges and was told they emailed me a moveout checklist and taped a copy of it to my door. When I explained I stayed until the last day of the lease, and did not receive a taped letter to my door or an email copy, the staff basically told me I was lying. When I asked what date they sent the email which I did not have in my inbox (because taping a piece of paper to a door? Not the safest way to deliver news. But I definitely didn't get anything taped to my door), she refused to tell me. She went ahead and emailed me the checklist as I was on the phone so I could look at it. On the checklist, it says a $150 apartment cleaning fee. They charged me $150 per room (they counted the foyer as a room), along with $75 to clean out the oven, and $75 for each tiny (literally the size of pen marks) holes in the wall in the living room. There were like 4 I think. The charges are definitely a scam and they will charge you whatever they can to get money out of you. This is definitely not a luxury apartment as claimed. It is a scam of a business. This apartment is pricey, and if you can afford it, it would be the wisest and smartest decision to go to one of the plenty of apartments nearby that aren't a scam and have a lot more true amenities and more graceful, professional staff. I hope this place rots, honestly. It is my fault I kept letting them lead me on, selling me a dream that things would get better year after year. I wouldn't give The Connor Group another dime.

                                    Let’s talk about this. Connor Group has listed what look like some nice, small 2-bedroom apartments on all the apartment apps for $2799 (pics attached). Great! But after a few bizarre conversations with a girl in the leasing office named Shanelle who honestly seemed to just enjoy listening to herself speak, I was “graced” with an offer of $3999. Eh? She literally just made up a price higher than any public listing for 23 Elliston. Umm no thanks. I even offered to sign a 2-year lease for a more appropriate rental rate, and ------------- would not budge lol. $3999 for two years as well. We have happily signed elsewhere :) Dodged a bullet!

                                    This might be the most absurd place I have ever lived in my entire life. They have a young, attractive sales staff to rope in as many residents as possible. They aggressively market and sell to college students and take advantage of them at every turn — whether that’s cornering them into picking the bad, yet expensive rooms, or pushing them into 12 months lease. They don’t take any complaints seriously, and will not fulfill service requests for weeks. They constantly threaten residents with fines for not disposing of their trash properly. They also have constant break ins in their parking garage that they do nothing to rectify. Over the last few months, over 40 cars have has their windows smashed in, and they literally will do nothing to fix. They will brag about their complex’s safety, yet took almost 6 months to fix the gate into the garage, and any code worked to get into the actual apartments. When residents complained, the staff had the audacity to blame the residents. I am not joking. Further, there are constant parties, and the hallways constantly reek of marijuana. I see in another email that the property manager said that they did not fulfill a service request because of Covid guidelines. If that were true and they took Covid seriously , then they would just the countless parties thrown here literally every weekend. This place is truly disgusting. It actually makes me so angry that I pay money to these people every month. Never live here. Trust me

                                      DO NOT LIVE HERE. This place is an absolute dump and The Connor Group are slumlords. The individual apartment units are nice enough, but the entire complex has an overwhelming college dorm vibe, with college students and Airbnb-ers (who are not supposed to be there) partying loudly any night of the week. Management is absolutely atrocious. Last week, there were 12 cars broken into in the "secure parking garage." This came about six weeks after another string of break-ins in the garage in which firearms were stolen--an obvious safety concern. None of the women in the office are competent or respectful of residents. The property manager, ---, has inappropriately raised her voice at me more than once, and consistently behaved in an unbelievably unprofessional manner. They blatantly refused to address that which they are required to remedy under the relevant Tennessee law, including both elevators being over a year past inspection, trash, boxes and mattresses littered all over the hallways and parking garage such that the hallways are impassable and clearly violative of relevant fire safety laws, never cleaning the gym adequately (or at all), refusing to evict or at all address illegal Airbnb-ers and sub-leasers, and refusing to wear masks in the office, which violates their OWN policies. Moral of the story, this place is absolutely horrendous, and you should never live here.

                                        PLEASE READ! BEWARE! When addressing some concerns with the property manager, she was what I considered extremely rude and condescending and has inappropriately raised her voice at me twice, and then refused to give me the name of her manager and told me, “you can call the Connor Group if you want, but there is no one above me that will answer any of your questions.” This correspondence was recorded which made the property manager irate, and lock me out of the office...no joke. The office staff does not abide by the COVID mask mandate and they are often not wearing their masks even with customers and residents in the office. My porch has been urinated on by another resident with no compensation or assistance in cleaning and sterilization of our porch after the incident. They did state they fined “multiple apartments” for it which just made them more money so.... Just yesterday there was over 12 reported break-ins in this apartment complex. Cars with broken window and glass everywhere. Being ransacked in the “secure parking facility” during the day! When I inquired if they were doing anything to improve security or bring back actual security the property manager stated “are you kidding me.” She went on to explain they gave the cops the tapes...which is essentially nothing. When I moved in, there was a security guard that is no longer here and it shows. I ignored the reviews before moving in....don’t make the same mistake. Live somewhere where the office staff comes from a place of respect and understanding and not hostility and condescension. Don’t only read my review...look at the reviews of some of the residents with some tenure here....most of the 5 star reviews are 1-2 years old. I will say the maintenance guys are rockstars! PLEASE, give this a like if you decided to go somewhere else!

                                          TL:DR DONT MOVE HERE Almost 3 years ago I moved into this apartment complex and I had a very good move in experience and was asked by the leasing office to give a review. I'm returning to edit this review because the people who made that experience pleasant are long gone. This year is rough enough with covid but living here has made it a bit more difficult. There has been complete turnover in the leasing office and the person I dealt with today Ashley was the final straw. I have had packages stolen in the past and leasing agents have gone out of their way to express regret or sympathy but only here with Ashley am I BLAMED for my packages being stolen. We have a locker system which allegedly is "free" but my rent went up after its installation so it most certainly is NOT free. The postal services ESPECIALLY ON WEEKENDS will not use it. The leasing office is no longer open on Sundays. I was told that in the future I should go out of my way to have packages require a signature. So that's what we are doing in so called luxury apartments. My car was broken into in our "secure" gated car park and completely ransacked. I filed a police report and was informed that there had been a RASH OF BREAK INS. Why were the residents not informed of this? When I spoke to the gentleman in the office whose name I have forgotten, he basically was like "that's life tough luck". I've lost close to a thousand dollars worth of items that were "delivered" but never received. The frat party/bachelorette party situation here IS a bit better but the apartment because of its proximity to Vanderbilt is basically treated like a dorm. I could live with all of this if the leasing office PRETENDED to care. But they don't seem to, and so I will be moving at the first opportunity and I would advise any working adult NOT to move into this complex. There are pet friendly NICER locations nearby with better rent and better customer service. One consistent awesome person here has been Matt who has been very responsive and generally a good guy as it pertains to maintenance issues but everyone else here is going through the motions.

                                            Place is a hell hole. Was nice when I moved 2 years ago but it's currently overrun with loud college students who let their dogs use the halls and garage as a bathroom and are loud and obnoxious at all hours. Carpets are stained and nasty. Trash and beer cans liter the halls and garage. Puke in common areas is common. Last straw was something stole something off my door and property management literally didn't care. If you're an adult, don't move here. It's basically paying way to much rent to live in hell

                                              The management changed this year and just has not been able to keep up with the general upkeep of an apartment complex that professes to be in league with the others around here. There's a TON of college kids partying all night long, bachelorettes in Airbnbs shrieking and hollering. There's piles of trash mounting in the hallways garage, crumbling walls, and worn out carpet that's stained and has been vacuumed once in the last 4 weeks, poorly cleaned or replaced gym equipment. Their response to these issues is incredibly slow (if at all) which is extremely frustrating since we pay for it as part of the amenities. So sure the place is cheaper than the others in the area and offers the standard amenities gym, decent sized pool, dog park, courtyards etc. but be ready to live in a frat house.

                                              The experience has become TERRIBLE over the past year. MAIL IS STOLEN! NOISY COLLEGE kids are partying all night long. No security. No way to file noise complaints. The front desk is irrespoinsive to issues. WOULD NEVER suggest living here. All they have is a good location. But this place is truly terrible run. You will not get sleep if you live facing the pool at night. People do not abide by any rules or quite hours here. It is truly OUT OF CONTROL here.
