My overall frustration...
My overall frustration lies with those that live in this apartment community and on a weekly basis vandalize or trash the apartment grounds, hallways, elevators, etc. Parking also continues to be an issue.

A huge construction project...
A huge construction project is going on, so if you enjoy constant mind numbing noise Camden Belmont is for you! They like to block off the streets and leave nails on the road so if flat tires are your idea of a good time...come to Camden Belmont! The office is understaffed and you consistently have to wait several minutes to get anyones attention or ask them any questions.

Really happy with the...
Really happy with the apartment overall - great location, good quality, decently priced. My only complaints are 1) water pressure in the showers. It's not great. I assume it's because the building is LEED certified, it must be trying to conserve water. 2) The walls to the outside aren't very thick. Cars driving by can be easily heard, especially at night when you're laying in bed. It hasn't kept us up, but I could imagine if you were a light sleeper it might. 3) The built-in TV. I'm not sure who would want a built-in TV - how many people don't already own one? We're going to have to pay a fee to have it dismounted from the living room and put into one of the bedrooms. That should be a free option when you move in. Relatively small complaints in the grand scheme of things. Definitely recommend the apartments!

Only complaint is there...
Only complaint is there is no parking and if you have visitors come there is no parking for them especially if they come on the weekend which when else would they come.

I've always felt that people who leave scathing reviews are simply individuals with an axe to grind. I suppose that I could fall into this category, so I will do my best to be as unemotional with my review as possible. My husband and I rented a townhome at the Belmont from December 2011 to December 2012. Since we had an attached parking garage on our townhome, parking was never an issue for the two of us. However, when we had visitors, I always told them to park on the main streets (Belmont or Bennett) due to the frequent car smash-and-grabs that occur on the side streets. Guest parking along the street was often unavailable after 5:30 pm because all of the roaches that live in the crappy apartments surrounding the Belmont will park along Bennett or Belmont to avoid break-ins into their cars. If your apartment faces the Mexican highway, aka Bennett, be prepared for cars constantly, loudly zooming up and down the street often with Tejano music blaring. Our townhome faced Bennett, but our bedroom was on the backside of the unit. Not once was there a night where a car did not wake me up. Crime is an extreme issue in this part of town. I don t expect an apartment management team to be able to eradicate crime in the surrounding area. However, I fully expect them to keep residents updated and aware of situations occurring literally on the apartment property. At one point there was a murder on one of the corners of the property involving non-residents, and Belmont simply sent out an incident report indicating that there had been some event on this day around this hour. I think it is completely unacceptable and irresponsible for a management company to try to keep their residents so in the dark. This was just one of several murders that occurred while we lived there. Several women were brutally raped and beaten one even in front of the Belmont gym during the year that we lived there. Ladies, don t walk anywhere along after dark. Anyone (guys and girls) walking home from Henderson late at night should always stay in a group of 6 or more and walk down Belmont, not Capitol. One guy was robbed at gunpoint on his walk home from the bars. Are you seeing the trend here? This part of town is simply not safe despite the nice fa ade of the complex. Beware of the homeless people who are constantly lurking around and hit you up for money. Another huge issue is the management company. The property was bought by Camden from UDR during the summer of 2012. Since then, it has been wrought with mismanagement, literally zero communication, the inability to pay your rent online, incompetent ever-rotating staff, etc. When we moved out in December, they were still not fully staffed. If you could actually reach someone over the phone to discuss an issue, it would never be resolved because that person would be there for less than two weeks. So the nice things about the community? The finish out is aesthetically appealing though greatly lacking in quality. The maintenance team was great! They were usually out within 48 hours to resolve an issue and very friendly.

I lived here for a year between May of 2011 and May of 2012. Pros: The staff was always very courteous and helpful. Appliances and finish-out were new, the move-in process was easy, I liked being able to easily split the rent and pay with a credit card so I could get miles. New washer/dryer came with the unit. The complex is LEED compliant and my electric bill was far less than it was at my Post apartment. The complex was generally clean and well-maintained. It is two blocks away from Henderson so all the restaurants are only a short walking distance away and you don't have to deal with parking. Cons: Not safe. There was a shooting at the basketball court across the street that left one person dead, someone got beaten and raped across the street after the Mavs game, I would hear gunshots regularly, and it doesn't help that the apartments across the street were advertising $399 rent. One time I was standing on the corner waiting for a friend and someone from a house across the street threw a beer bottle over the street onto the Belmont property and it shattered everywhere. One of the houses next door is overrun with cats and plays loud Tejano music all the time, another has a fence around the front yard for their Pitbull. The parking in my unit was miserable, and often no spots were left after 7pm. You can park in the parking garage across the street but you have to walk around the complex to get to the entrance. Almost everyone is pretentious and entitled, and the message boards are bombarded daily with people that have time to whine about trivial nonsense.

Luxury Apartments?
Let me start by saying that I lived at the Belmont for a few years and never had too much of a problem. I accepted that it was an apartment complex and that issues would arise. However, I never thought things would escalate to this level. As time went on, the complex began to become more and more like a dorm with people just treating it as such, and less as a home. The staff was quite nice and friendly at the start and they really made you feel like a member of their community. Within the past year, however, they have changed personnel. Most of them are rude, snide, and couldn't care less about you. Having lived there for some time, I would have expected more compassion and respect out of these people. Instead, when my lease was up for the second time, I decided to move out. The process was difficult and full of questions that no one could ever answer. Don't expect to get any money back from any deposit that you put in because they will find a way to charge you all of it. They will be rude about it too. I cannot convey the disappointment I felt after leaving someplace that I called home for nearly three years of my life. My issues with them aside, I do not recommend living here. Though the area is supposed to be "getting better" it is still not safe and not worth the price to live there. There was a murder right outside my window which was all over the news: http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/One-Dead-in-Dallas-Drive-B Several months before that, there was a woman who was beaten and raped and barely escaped with her life less than a block away: http://dallashouses.me/2011/06/17/woman-beaten-and-raped-in There are much safer places that are much nicer and cost the same or less. Do yourself a favor and tell everyone you know to steer clear of this property!

OVERPRICED & NOTHING SPECIAL: KEEP LOOKING, IF YOU'RE APT HUNTING.
Pretentious. Annoying. If you feel like living in a college dorm-like atmosphere then this is the place for you! They are so eco-friendly, that they took out the paper coffee cups and requires you to bring your own mug. It's highly enforced that it is a non-smoking environment, so much to the point where they'll give you "write-up's" for each violation (three write-ups and you're out!). Cars get broken into left and right, yet the so-called security guards on-duty are nowhere to be found. However, they are on point for each cigarette smoked. The gyms okay, if you like being watched by everyone driving by. Oh, and the walls are paper thin, if you enjoy hearing your neighbors life, than this is the place for you! The bedrooms are tiny. The rent is over-priced. There are extra monthly fees for everything. They give violations for EVERYTHING! Cars and bikes get stolen ALL THE TIME, and still no action. The staff is ill-equipped at what they're doing, some are nice and some are uptight. They go through staff every other month. Don't get sucked into these so-called eco-friendly, hip, etc. apartments.

Good community
I have lived here for a few years. Great community! The complaints are hilarious to me. You cannot expect complete silence in an apartment community. If you expect that, buy a house. Also, no one is responsible for your safety but yourself. How can an apartment community control what happens in the neighborhood? They installed cameras and hired security. Done! Most problems solved. They modifed package policy to cut down on random packages disappearing. They conducted a parking survey etc. If you have an issue with parking, use the main garage as instructed. They have security to escort you to your apartment! All of my maintenance request have been completed within 24 hours. Want a delay? Own a home and see how fast contractors jump to help you! To me, sounds like a bunch of babies. No community is perfect.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!
I would never recommend this apartment to anyone. I am not one to complain, but the parking is terrible. I will put in service requests for maintenance and they will take well over a week to fix them. For example, my washing machine broke and it took them 11 days to come fix it. My air broke in august and it took 3 days, which in August is unacceptable. They allow people to park wherever they want, most of the time blocking getting out of the garage that you pay $100 a month for.m once my lease is up, I am out of there. The staff is not friendly, cooperative, or understanding at all. When I am paying over $1300 a month for a one bedroom apartment I should get great service! You do not get it here!

Awful! We couldn't wait to move!
The worst apartment complex we have ever lived in! Stay far away! Everyone we talked to thought the same way. We called the office so many times of noise violations and NOTHING was ever done about it. The office/management has no clue on what they are doing. They don't return phone calls or emails, and if they do, they have no idea how to assist you with the problem. I lived in an apartment in a much noisy area and never had the problems that we did at the Belmont. The neighborhood has so much crime going on right outside/inside the building. Packages are stolen constantly, there have been shootings, and a rape that occured at the corner of the apt. complex. We left as soon as we could. We are not normally the type of people to complain to management or leave reviews, but it was just beyond awful. We feel like people should know how it is going to be before they look into renting there. Hopefully this will keep you from having the experience we had. The place might look nice, but don't get lured in with that. You will be miserable.

Not the best but not the worst
I cannot wait for my lease to come due. PARKING HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! They did try and help by adding three extra parking spaces to the lot but it didn't make a difference. The apartment has little closet space, no storage space, no pantry or even a place to put a trash can. The A/C system does not follow well. They allow large dogs...which for some is great but the elevators smell enough to make you sick as dogs are always peeing in them.We live in one of the townhomes it is a lot of wasted space that they could have built for better use, bad lighting in apartment as well. The staff is a bit rude and snotty but I guess that would be expected in the area. Maintenance is great both in service and staff. If you are never home and love walking to the bars this is a great place but if you have furniture and plan on spending nights at home look else where. Oh and no night is complete without cop sirens! Yes, every night we hear them often after 10.

Safety Concerns
I am a current resident here right now and so far over 8 months I have been generally pleased. Over the past couple months though there have been several break ins to cars, including cars in the "gated" parking garage. The staff seems somewhat responsive to the issue but there are not any major steps being taking it is very concerning to my neighbors and I.

Worst Apartments Ever!!
I lived in a lot of apartments throughout college, but these have been the worst I have seen so far. They are WAY over priced for what we get and being right next to the ------. I can hear everything my neighbor is doing upstairs and not just walking around, but opening drawers and talking. There is not enough parking so they expect you to park in the garage across the street and walk (which is not safe, especially for women). There are constantly car break ins (so much for living in a gated community) and people that don't live here walking through the parking lot. Management says they do not have the funds for cameras, but they host parties at least once a month. I would not recommend living here. There are much better places around Dallas.

bad customer service
I didn't actually live here but my boyfriend and I went to look at the apartments with the intention to rent. We gave the price range to the sales lady and she laughed and said she couldn't help us. Ironically, my good friend move into those same apartments last week and said they offered her a price in the range we asked for. They lost our business due to the bad customer service and the unwillingness to accommodate our needs.
