More crime . . .
Homeowners now being robbed at gunpoint. Until the crime issue is resolved, (i.e. security personel, cameras, gates that are more dependable, a guard at the gate during night hours, etc) I would not recommend this property. Sorry staffers, you are all great but safety is a tremendous concern that has to be INVESTED in.

I honestly love it.
I see that there are a lot of bad comments about the office staff. I'm not sure on each particular situation, but I've never had a problem. Then again, I find that you attract more bees with honey...I really have enjoyed my stay here and am actually a little sad because I'm moving downtown and know I won't have it this good anymore. There are a few cons that I would like to note: - Pool. The pool is out of control during the summer. Large groups of people and families (that don't live there) show up in vans and SUVs and take up parking spaces. They unload giant floats and coolers, and take up all the seating at the pool. (I'm sure the noise is insane if your apartment faces the pool.)I just stopped going. It's ridiculous. - Noisy Neighbors. I thought that this was the best apartment I ever lived in because I never heard our upstairs neighbor. Turns out we didn't have one until 2 weeks ago. I feel like I'm about to go crazy. I think they have a 90lb dog that jumps and runs through the house. They stomp so much, our lights flicker in the fixtures, and the people below us can hear our floor shaking. - Solicitors. I'm one of those people that can't stand getting advertisements stuck on my door or strangers stopping by to sell magazines or electricity service. With the break-ins that have occurred lately, it makes me very uncomfortable. Besides that, it has been a better experience that most places I've lived. I actually think the staff and their promptness is what makes it better. If the staff wasn't great, these things would have made me want to move out already.

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT! They treat people like we are doing them a favor in living in their apartments. The nicest guys are the maintenance folks as many have said. DO NOT LIVE HERE as the management is rude and will take you to the cleaners when you leave.

I absolutely love these apartments! Staff is very friendly. The amenities and clubhouse are wonderful. I spent every weekend at the pool after I moved in. I have no complaints!!!

Amazing!!
The Lakes at Cypresswood apartment complex is amazing. I had a 13 month lease and I loved every minute of it. The only reason I moved out is because I decided to buy a house. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone. The location is perfect as it is very easy to get onto 249, the amenities are great and the staff is wonderful!! Everyone of the staff members were caring, helpful an knew me by name. It was so comforting, when moving from Dallas, to be welcomed by such great people. Also, if I had a maintenance request (which were very few!), it was completed in 24 hours. I had such a great experience at this apartment and feel blessed to have found such a wonderful place! It is upsetting to see the reviews of some other former tenants and their reaction towards the staff. I do not understand why they would allow their view on the complex in it's entirety to be jaded by one staff member! My best advice to those who are apartment hunting is to view the apartment in it's entirety and don't overlook all the wonderful things it has to offer. I had a great experience and would highly recommend The Lakes at Cypresswood.

I don't really have time to leave a review, but here is a copy of the email I sent to the staff today: I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for making the community such a great one to live in. I work for a company that owns and manages apartments, so I know how difficult it can be to try to satisfy all of the residents. I see negative comments on apartment rating sites and I'm always surprised, because I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the office and maintenance staff, and we absolutely love living here. It's a pleasure to come home after work to such a lovely community, and we appreciate all of the hard work. Thank you again!

Absolutely the worst
After leasing an apartment with Lakes at Cypresswood for 13 months, I can truthfully say that I would never recommend anyone, including enemies, to lease here. The property is beautiful, and the interior of the apartments is nice. Unfortunately, the joy of living at such a nice property is immediately ruined by certain members of the office staff. Not all of them, but enough of them to make you want to move out. The staff there at the Lakes at Cypresswood are completely unprofessional in every way possible. The staff speaks to their tenants like idiots, and intentionally tries to embarrass them in front of others instead of trying to get problems resolved. They are nice to you once you lease, and after that you will be regretting and questioning yourself as to why you moved in. I have heard numerous complaints from other former neighbors about the office staff at the Lakes at Cypresswood. I myself have only had one issue, and when the office management didn't make the effort to resolve my issue, I exceeded further to their Corporate office. Unfortunately, their Corporate staff is the same way as the Lakes at Cypresswood office staff. In conclusion, if you have an issue at this complex, don't expect to get it resolved. My suggestion would be to lease somewhere else. The dreadfully rude, inconsiderate, immature and unprofessional staff is not worth anyone's frustration.

Blessed that I NEVER moved into the apartment community!
Good morning! Usually, I don't get upset. When my fiancee and I first took a look at the apartment, it was good enough to move in. They maintain the property very well. The front office staff (of course) did their part and they were nice at first. After I paid the application and processing, I never heard from them again. They held my check for 2 weeks and lied about it, stating that it was cashed. I called to let them know additional information that they requested, they never returned my calls. They are the absolutely the most unprofessional apartment I have ever had to deal with. I reported them to Michael Stevens Interest Community, the group that owns the apartment and Lisa Rodriguez is the rudest person I have ever spoken to. Not only did she hang up on me twice, only because I was asking why the staff have not returned my calls. My co-workers even mentioned how I was not even rude to her, so she would not treat me that way. So, I cancelled my application. I couldnt imagine how they would treat you, once you moved in. So, beware of this complex. Why waste your money to people who do not care about you? There are too many other communities to live in.

Management Ruins it ALL!!!
It s sort of like going to a nice restaurant but getting the worst waiter. It doesn t matter how good the food was, the entire experience will be defined by how you were treated. Well, this place isn t that nice to begin with, then tac on the rude management and you the get Lakes at Cypresswood. I just couldn t, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone. Just take a look at the 16 previous date & opinions on here. I can tell you for a FACT that the first 5 posting where done directly or indirectly by the front office. Just by reading them you can hear the same tone used by infomercials and their deceiving salesmen. If you still decide to move in don t say you weren t warned about how terrible the management is.

Very nice place minus chaos by pool
In general, this is a pretty nice place to live for short term. Love the layouts offered and the maintenance guys have always been very prompt with requests. My complaint, however, regards the mass amounts of non-tenants using our pool daily. They use up all our parking spaces, jump the gate to the pool and are out there ALL DAY AND NIGHT. I have only used the pool once and probably never will again due to the non-tenants presence. It isn't fair to pay for maintenance of a pool for non-tenants to use. And the front office staff do not enforce the "resident's only policy" for pool use.

Terrible
I'm writing this review hoping that it will help some people out there that are looking for a nice place. My lease is almost up but I can't wait to get out of here. The apartment is ok nothing luxurious about it though. However, the problems you will have will be with the with the front office. It doesn't matter how good of a tenant you are these people are airheads! And that's putting it nicely. They will talk to you like if your a child infront of people and try to embarass you without even knowing all of the information first. They can't even tell their tenants apart from guests. They don't however care or do anything about teenage kids wondering all around the clubhouse and pool at all hours of the night smoking and drinking and trashing the property. One of those kids is the son of one of the maintenance guys from here and that boy gets away with murder! Ofcourse they don't tell him anything because his dad works here. He will hang out in the clubhouse with about 5 of his friends. But if anyone else takes more than two people at a time they will embarass them infront of everybody. There have also been break ins recently and if you have an older vehicle dont leave it parked here for more than a day because they will tow your car at your expense! I guess they only want to see newer vehicles around here. These people just don't know how to treat others and be professional. Can't wait for my lease to be up. If you want a nice apt with a smart and kind office staff the don't rent here!

Note to you all
Hey Girls, Just wanted to send a note of thanks to all of you for taking such good care of us. Sarah sold me on this location, during a time that was kinda traumatic for me. I haven't lived in an apartment since 1973. Special thanks to Sarah in helping me all of these months. It really is something for you to be known by your first name in this day and age. Sorry that I haven't sent this earlier. So to all of you, thanks for making this an easy transition. I'm very happy here. Sincerely, Linda

Don't waste your time!
After reading some reviews I was a little skeptical about taking a tour here. I went anyway and I regret it. After waiting for about 20 minutes my husband and I were finally helped. While waiting we saw about 3 or 4 current residents try to get help or get some answers but they had to leave. During "the tour" the girl showed us the starbucks coffee machine and said that we could get coffee whenever but the funniest part was that the machine had a big sign on it saying "OUT OF ORDER". The model looked nice but the lady was rude. She didn't give us enough time to look at it by ourselves. It felt very rushed and the only specials they had were for the ones on the 3rd floor. Needless to say we are renting elsewhere. For the price they are asking they should have money left over to train their office staff on people skills and professionalism. Two of them were even arguing with each other infront of prospective renters. Run away and rent some where else..

Run Away
I recently went by to view these apartments because one of my friends lived here before and recommended them. She mentioned that when she lived here the staff was ok. After reading some reviews I was a little sceptical but decided to take a tour anyway. After waiting for about 20 minutes my husband and I were finally helped. Meanwhile there were residents coming in and out of the office trying to get some help or some questions answered and a few left without any help. When we were finally helped it felt more like a rush than a real tour. Some of the workers were also arguing with each other. This was also not a good sign. They really didn't have any great deals unless you want to move in the 3rd floor! Over all with the rates and unprofessional staff they have we were not impressed at all. Needless to say we're moving on to a better complex and so should you!

Second the cheap motion!
After reading a bellow review, I just had to write my experience there. We also had mold in our apartment. When first moving in, our second restroom was filled with mold. It took the front office almost a month to fix. Mean while all of our guests had to be using the restroom in our master bedroom. As if that wasn t bad enough, some time later, a leak sprung from our master restroom, corroding the wall and carpet connecting to our closet. So we had to move EVERYTHING out of our closet into the living room, until they fixed the leak, replaced the carpet and sheetrock to the wall. They then gave us a WAPPING 100$ discount for that month s rent. (For dry cleaning bills and inconveniences we may have accrued) Needless to say, we had to dispose of more than a few clothing articles. Boy, I d never been so mad in my life, having to deal with a front office full of rude and apathetic staff members. I d never recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy. I m just glad to be out of there!

Staff is terrible
Simply put, the place is nice but not worth the trouble. There are plenty of of other apartments with the same if not better amenities and not having to deal with a rude staff watching your every move like..... BIG BROTHER!

Bad Office Staff writes their own reviews
If you are looking for a nice place to live in then don't rent here. The office staff is very unprofessional and rude. It's good to have rules but they just don't know how to enforce them. I'm sure this is not what the company expects of their employees. After you sign your lease they act like they don't even know you until they walk around showing the complex to prospective renters. They will just make you feel uncomfortable the whole time your here. Turn away and rent somewhere else. From 1-5 I give this place a 0!

Great office staff
Ever since I have been living here at the lakes I have had great experience with my neighbors, and especially the office staff. I would rather have a staff that does monitor how may guest are visiting our community since we are paying for our service, and especially when walking your pet who wants to step on animal mess on such a nice property when walking I don't so I like the fact that the staff is on top of that. They are doing their job that's all. We have alot of great amenities here that my family enjoys when they visit, and the activities the management has with the residents are great so I would recommend this community to my friends.

Horrible office staff
This is a very nice apartment complex but the office staff makes this a horrible living experience. Turn away! They have a policy that states 2 guests per apartment so they will literally embarrass you and make a big scene if they think there are too many guests with you. They are very unprofessional. They have a lot of events for the residents but when you show up they make you feel like you shouldn't be there. There is just too many rude people working here. This complex would be great if they had nice people working here. Their staff will make you feel very uncomfortable. I have also seen one of their maintenance workers go up to people while they were walking their dogs and scream at them to pick up after them. I am so glad to be out of there.

Awesome Place to Live
I was one of the first residents that lived at The Lakes. I live by the pool and the club house and I love it! The pool during the summer was a blast. I say a blast, but it was still quiet and relaxing. It is nice to finally live at a place that you can say hi to your neighbors. One of my favorite things is that they have a ton of functions for the residents, alittle something to beable to get everyone to know their neighbors. I really like to know who I live with! It might be more expensive than the other apartments down the road, but you pay for what you get. I would rather pay alittle more and know everyone else that I live with can afford the same rents I do. I love to golf and they have a golf pro that gives free golf lessons. Also they're brand new, I love knowing I am the first person to ever live in my apartment. For once the 8 months I have lived here, the staff has never changed! I recommend The Lakes at Cypresswood to all my friends and family.

CHEAP everything but rent
Everything about the interior of this place is cheap but the looks. We've had problems with plumbing, tile, mold, and fixtures. Good luck with the office, they're nice as can be but don't get anything done!

great place
I was the very first resident to live here. I moved in 2/15/08. It has been a super great place to live. At first everyone partied out in the pool till all hours of the night, but that doesn't happen anymore. Great floor plans, great staff.

Great Place to Live!
The Lakes at Cypresswood is a great place to live. The pool and hot tub are awesome! And with the exercise room, game room and golf simulator available to all residents, it's more like staying at a resort than living in an apartment. The staff is great and they really make sure all your needs are met. I would recommend this place if you are looking for an apartment home.
