A well managed rental community, constant updates and improvements. The only thing is if you happen to have noisy neighbors, then you're just out of luck. Finally they also made rules about not smoking on the premises, so that was a welcome change.

They have not only made my tranisition to the area smooth, they've also provided me with a plethora of information about the area. The space for the price fit my budget perfectly, and it's very conveniently located near the Town Center. Granted I've only just moved in, I'm very hopeful to see what the year has in store for me.

While is convenient, location wise, the overall quality of buildings is not very good. Insulationhas always been poor. Currently they are replacing windows, but i think it is slow to make improvements for cpst fo rent. Many occupants were putting plastic on windows and have done since i have lived here. The grounds/grass is not ery attractove due to the number of residents that allow thier dogs to urinate beside the buildings. Exposed cable wires and boxes also unattractive....not conducive for children play in community.

Great apartments in a great location. Minutes away from the Reston Town Center and surrounded by walking/biking trails. Maintenance and management are always very helpful and responsive. It is a nice, clean, quiet community that is very pet friendly. Couldn't be happier!

Beautiful quiet community. I'm grateful to have been given the opportunity to live here. Hopefully if the rent isn't increasing significantly I will happily renew my lease again. I really have enjoyed my rental apartment.

I have been living in this community for a few years. This review is based on my personal experience and opinion: PRO: - Nice Staff The staff is friendly. Thats really all that matters. Whenever you enter the office you are greeted promptly and politely. There are many community events that are organized by the team. Any packages that are being delivered are being held securely. Overall, I always felt somewhat welcome coming the office with a question or concern. - Location The location is what sells this place! You get anywhere quickly and its super accessible. The stores (Giant, Starbucks, Restaurants, Gas Station etc.) across the street are very convenient. The bus stop is directly next to the complex. The neighborhood is quiet - not much traffic. I love that you can access the trails from the complex. - Parking Parking is available anywhere, no matter the time of the day. If you come home at 5pm or 10pm, there is always space, which is nice. CON: - Noise concern If you have read the other reviews, the noise insulation is BAD. Like, extremely bad. From my window, I can hear any conversations that other residents have outside on their cellphones or on their balconies. You can hear every single word. You hear birds, bugs, car noise, and lets not forget the landscape maintenance and leaf blowers every once or twice a week. That is quite frankly the worst - you cannot have a conversation in your room without speaking immediately louder, like you feel like you're yelling or when watching TV, the TV has to be turned up to an extend thats quite annoying. You also hear everything from the apartment above or below. Every step, every trample and maybe even every spoon that gets dropped. Every time the person above or below flushes the toilet or takes a shower it sounds like your bathroom is about to explode. Its frustrating. While I understand that the noise level when living in an apartment complex is higher than living in your one-family home, I believe that this is extreme and due to cheap insulation. The apartment I am living now is how it should be. - Garbage smell The garbage compactor. Oh boy. It gets full and overloaded so fast that it stops working and residents put their trash bags in front of it. And when you walk by you can smell the trash and it is nasty. Especially in the summer. The garbage compactor has stopped working several times and then there are containers that can be used - not better regarding smell, its gross. I have never seen any rats but I would be surprised. - Maintenance While the maintenance services are decent, things break all the time. The AC wasn't working every summer, doors break and the water heater broke. Its inconvenient and you would expect more for the rent you pay. - Grounds On your first look the grounds look clean - not much trash laying around. But once you walk around you can see the amount of dog waste laying around everywhere, cigarette buds and this place crawls of cicadas in the summer. (Which ties back to the noise frustration..) - Cost The bottom line is this, you pay a lot of money for your one bedroom or two bedroom place for having to deal with a lot of things that come with this place. The rent increased every year, there is an amenity fee for the pool and the gym - well, let me tell you this, the pool is a puddle in the shade. If you love to tan, this place is not for you. You do not get any sunlight at the pool after 1pm. Its invaded by ants that will bite you every chance they get. The Gym is tiny, no weight machines and the two treadmills that are there barely worked when I used them or turned off mid-run. The only plus is that there are free weights but not mirrors to watch your form. Yes, it's Reston and the location is convenient, but I rather pay the same amount for a different place and live in peace and feel at home. It is not worth the cost. You can find a different place, where you get more for the same cost. BUT if all these things that made me leave and not renew my lease do not matter to you, then you should call this place home.

I love my apartment, because it's close to a lot of stores around us but noise isolation is very bad . The front desk guys are very friendly . you get the normal maintenance issues that you would expect from any property but every issue I have raised has been addressed promptly by the maintenance people.

Great neighborhood with friendly people. Staff were always great to help and address issues professionally if needed. We lived there for about 3.5 years. It's a dog friendly community. We have two American Eskimos and we never had any issues. Eddy & Donna at the leasing office have been there since we moved in and they were very helpful. Maintenance crew were always friendly too and took care of our needs efficiently. The only thing that I would say is that if you live alone and do not have pet, make sure you live in a unit which is not located below a neighbor with pets or kids. Unfortunately the buildings are built in a way that they don't keep noise and sounds out very well. We could always hear when people above us were walking, their kids and pets were running around, and when someone took a shower in a different unit. For us it was not an issue as we have two dogs and didn't mind, but the last couple months living there we had a new downstairs neighbor who was complaining about the noise we had no control over.

Great location (short walk to North Point - Reston) with creative apartment layouts. Very quiet neighborhood and great parking, spent months searching for the right place and there is no doubt in my mind I found the perfect apartment.

St. John's Wood is in a great location. It's super close to Reston Parkway but it's surrounded by trees so you never notice any traffic. It's convenient being able to access trails and a grocery store without driving.

The grounds and location are what originally attracted me to St. Johns Wood. The extraordinary, attentive office and maintenance staff are why I lived there for more than 10 years until relocating out of state. Units are tastefully remodeled and feature plenty of storage space. Depending on your neighbors, it can be noisy - it's an older building. Leases specify quiet hours, and management will address an after hours noise situation if needed. The complex is pet friendly, and owners are required to be considerate and clean up after their pets. Management is on top of snow removal, and tries very hard to keep the complex plowed during snow events for residents to be able to get out and find parking spots when they return. I would absolutely rent here again!

St. Johns Wood Apartments are original to the final development of Reston North Point. The positive aspects of the complex is its location to North Point Shopping Center and major roadways that take you almost anywhere including Dulles Airport. The apartment complex enjoys many trails, lakes and playgrounds and tennis and soccer fields. For those with children it offers immediate proximity to two elementary schools. Management policy at the apartments is dog friendly but some dogs seen appear to be much too large for apartment living. Overall safe community, low density but be aware that Bozzuto Management has been lobbying Fairfax County to rebuild an entirely new apartment complex when they can get approval.

We definitely enjoy living at St Johns Wood. The community is small and well maintained. The office staff is by far the best we have seen. They are very pleasing and approachable. The elementary school which our daughter attends is walking distance from our apt . Whenever there is a problem to fix, the technicians come in real quick and fix it in no time. The more I say the less it seems. We definitely recommend living in this community.

In my time at St John Wood, I have really enjoyed the leasing staff. Donna and Edward are amazing and make me feel valued as person. They even send cute little birthday cards. The leasing staff is high caliber overall, they have a new associate who is super friendly and she always greets me with a smile and knows my name. Despite always being crazy busy, they make time for each resident. I wish maintenance were as on point as the leasing office, sometimes they some up for the same work order twice and even urgent requests like leaks can take up to 24 hours to fix. Noise is a little irritating, but I think it really depends on who lives above you. Parking is great compared to other places, but get home after 6pm and you have little chance of parking near you apartment. Nice overall, but a bit over-priced based on some of the features. My truest complaint would be the continued increases in rent when the value of my home seems to decrease with dated appliances, and gross carpet. It would be nice if the rate increases were capped annually since we all have to pay county amenity fees anyway.

Great complex, great location and lovely community - my biggest and only complaint is their restricted breeds list. I have a very common dog breed that I have never had issues with at other complexes yet it somehow made it to St. Johns Wood's list. I don't understand how this list was put together because I've never run into this issue at any luxury apartment complex I've visited. I would have loved to live here and was ready to sign a long-term lease but this is a definite deal breaker. If you have a pet I'd suggest making that the first question you ask management before going on a tour and falling in love with the place and then getting shot down.

St Johns Wood is great, if you don't love dogs. However, if that's the case for you then don't look here. They have an extensive restricted breeds list that covers most common dogs, despite their claims to being "pet friendly." This list also isn't available online anywhere or conveniently accessible. Other than that I would recommend them.

STJ is a nice community conveniently located in North Reston. The apartments are basic but, actually fairly spacious. Storage/Closet space is excellent for an apartment community. The management team is courteous and helpful.

We love living here! The community is in a wonderful area and the apartment s are very spacious. We really appreciate the staff! The staff here is welcoming and friendly. We instantly felt like we were home when we first came to tour the units in May of 2015. The staff is always putting on different events for us to participate in. St.Johns Woods is more than just an apartment complex, it's a community.

Beautiful apartments! Apartment managers have personalities to match. I count myself an excellent judge as I am a travelling nurse and have stayed in my fair share of apartment complexes. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and the grounds are immaculate! Since I am a travelling nurse, I usually have a short term lease however the customer service that has been delivered to me is no different than if I were a permanent resident. For example, when I expressed an interest to stay beyond my three month lease, the staff worked with my agency to renew my lease. When my agency dropped the ball resulting in the leasing of my apartment (they had to put it on the market when they had not heard from my agency), the staff quickly moved me into an available apartment. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the apartment was on a lower level which I love, closer to the firewood, and I have a better view from my balcony. I enjoy the access to the pool and gym. Thank you so much Robin, Donna, and Ed for all you do!

The staff are excellent caring, professional people. It's a wonderful place to live. I don't want to move anywhere else. I really dislike the fact that it's a possibility that we all may have to move in the future. Donna and Eddie are the best staff I have ever had. Keep up the awesome work.

Decent place, but don't resign. They raise the rent quite a bit each year and upkeep is barely done. We had a BLACK air filter. They use low quality products that always need additional maintenance. It's a shame, because the leasing office staff is friendly and really tries to get issues taken care of. But you don't get your money's worth. The buildings are old and have ant and silverfish issues.
