Great Experience for a short term lease!
I moved to the Richmond area for my Capstone project for graduate school and the Scout was an amazing experience. They made the move in experience easy, made me feel at home in a new area, and provided fun activities throughout the month. If you have any maintenance issues, they fix them day of. The complex has a secure package drop off so I never worry about missing mail. Location wise, I can walk to many of the happening places in town. The amenities are top shelf and my overall experience living at this facility has been amazing. Would definitely recommend this housing complex for any potential renters!

It's ok. It'd be better if smoking was permitted in your apt. I also don't like the fact that maintenance left debris in my bathtub, on top of that they didn't fix the issue initially?unprofessional in my opinion

The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. The building and the apartment specifically looked great and had some great views too. The pool and community areas were very impressive as well.

Its an acceptable place to live, the amneities are good, more importantly the location is good. The maintenance staff seem to respond relatively quickly. Though the parking available is shallow and the rent is pricey for a single person apartment.

Great place to live! Amazing staff from the Community Manager to the Leading Consultants to the Maintenance Staff! Commons areas are cleaned on a daily basis, location is great (walking distance to everything) and the neighbors are great!

Haven't been here too long but I think move-in went very smoothly, everyone has been very kind and helpful with the whole process. Everywhere in the building and apartment is very clean and still looks like new.

Honestly, this is the best managed apartment I have lived in! The communication from the leasing team to answer all my questions prior to move in was quick and efficient. They let me pick up my keys early in order to accommodate my movers. Spencer is a rock star at the front desk and is always looking for ways to make The Scout fun for its residents to include connections with business across Scott's Addition. The maintenance team is quick and professional, usually fixing things the same day! I recommend The Scout to everyone!

We love staying at the Scouts! The management staff (Spenser and Emmanuel) are very friendly and genuinely care about the residents. They always have fun events organized every month for the residents. The building is new and the location is a steal! Despite being close to so many restaurants the community is quiet. Wished the parking was slightly cheaper but overall highly recommend!

The neighborhood is wonderful and the proximity to everything is hard to beat. There is a grocery store, bowling alley, and a plethora of unique restaurants/breweries within walking distance. It's a safe neighborhood and all of the neighbors in the building have made me feel welcome since moving in by saying hello and lending a hand.

Would not recommend. Office staff is unreasonable and they are not understanding when situations out of a resident's control arise. Area where it is located is convenient, but you can find a better value for the price.

I love the Scout! The location is perfect - walking distance to so many restaurants, breweries, and shopping. The management team is friendly and responsive to any requests. And I appreciate the flexible lease terms and availability of an apartment on short notice.

The space itself is nice. My move in process was an absolute ---- show. The management did not send me the requirements for move in until the Friday before I moved in after 5 pm and told me I had to have a cashiers check/money order. All the banks were closed and it was impossible and their explanation was that I “slipped through the cracks”. I also was told that the unit was wifi ready and I have never had to fight with Xfinity more in my life. The management blew me off and gave me a number to call and I called the wifi help number multiple times and left messages with no reply so I had to deal with it on my own. The people that work at the front office are not professional. One day I was trying to work out in the gym and the four front office people decided it was a good time to come in and mess around on the equipment for a promo video for the Instagram. I recommend looking at it on the Instagram, it’s embarrassing. I had to leave the gym and now pay to go to different gym. I also was told that basic parking was included and I received a parking pass that is given to over half the apartment complex with only 20 spots available. Then after a few weeks they sent a message through the portal, not even a real announcement, that our passes were now worthless and anyone can park in those spots. I work 13 hour shifts and did not want to try and find street parking so I parked for only a few hours in a lot out front of the building and was towed with no information on where my car was taken. The towing company was even worse, changed the rates every time I called and could not even give me a positive appointment time. If I had known all of this I would have definitely chosen a different place to live.

The apartments offer nice layouts with balconies and open kitchens/living rooms although do not expect any space for storage. They are clearly trying to sell you one of their onsite storage units. The neighbors are usually noisy and will slam their doors. As for parking, it is a total mess, nowhere near enough parking for everyone, they will advertise one price for a spot but then charge you another when you go to pick up your parking pass. They have made no effort to fix the parking in over a year and I do not expect that to change. Nice apartments as long as you don't need to drive anywhere ever/own a car.

It's a good spot, apartment is spacious and rent isn't too bad. I wish the parking was assigned. Usually one lot assigned per household should be the standard, I don't like the fact that I have to use street parking.

I've lived here almost a year and I like living here. The apartments are very new and modern. Parking used to be free, but a few months into our lease they required we pay for parking and I honestly don't mind the added fee much. It's not as high as other places I've lived, and now there's actually always several spots to choose from. Some of the parking spots are even covered, which helped a lot when it snowed. I love the gym, and I love that management always hosts little events during the month where you can win prizes or get free food. The community is also very pet friendly with a cute dog park. I live on the first floor and I am pleasantly surprised I never hear my neighbors that live above me, and they even have 2 big dogs. My ONLY issue with this place is that the walls are so thin. I've lived in other apartments and a college dorm and even those walls were thicker. I can occasionally hear my neighbors talking at what appears to be a normal volume and I can almost make out the words, which makes me think they can probably hear everything I do, but I only have this problem in my bedroom. Even with that issue, I still think it's worth it to live here and I'll be renewing my lease. The price is great compared to other apartments nearby, it's typically quiet, parking is all good now, having an in-unit washer/dryer is awesome, and lastly the location is the best part. Being a 2 minute walk from Aldi, River City Roll, and Starbucks has been amazing, and it's only about a 10 minute walk to the other breweries and restaurants further in Scott's Addition. It's incredibly convenient! I do recommend living here.

Parking is annoying. I enjoy the area and my neighbors were cool, but the neighbor outside would have lots of trash outside on the weekend. I was even more annoyed to be charge to park where I live and pay rent.

Office staff is incompetent and they lie. Steelhead is an awful company. I will not be renewing my lease and plan to go elsewhere. There are many other apartments in the area, I would reccomend looking into those that are not managed by steelhead.

I had to bring up the issue about a noisey dog upstairs several times. I received no follow up. Cleanliness is lacking on the weekend?we pay far too much for that. And asking me to pay for parking when my lease says "free parking" is ridiculous

My unit is great, a wonderful layout for me and a nice space to have friends or visitors. The building is conveniently located to so many great spaces in Richmond and the bus line and major highways to get around the city quickly.

The Scout is a very nice facilty. It is well maintained at all times. The staff is great - friendly, helpful, outgoing and avaialble. The Scott's Addition area is a fun location. There was a bit of a parking issue but no problems anymore.
