After 9 months living here I can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at The Scout. The location is super convenient to many of my favorite bars, restaurants and Aldi. I love the size and layout of my apartment - especially the huge balcony with a great view of the neighborhood. There were some issues with parking this past spring but the current management team seems to have worked hard to come up with the most viable long term solution. I had a specific parking issue where I had missed some communication about upcoming changes and the office staff was very understanding and worked with me to resolve the issue. The complex has all the amenities that you'd expect from a newer building - pool, gym, lounge - and package room with a fridge is super helpful for those of us who get meal delivery. Can be a little noisy at times but that's pretty typical for this neighborhood. Overall, I would definitely recommend if you're looking for an area of Richmond with a more urban feel!

It's great if you can get a guaranteed parking permit on day 1 of moving in. Just note that is an additional cost. Without a parking permit, you are straight out of luck, as there is no public parking near the apartment complex. I would definitely not recommend living here without the parking permit. I have also heard of significant rent increases for residents wanting to renew their lease (much higher than other apartments in the area).

The community is brand new, so everything works good. However, there are few issues that need to be taken care of. Firstly, the parking. It used to be free but starting July 6, 2021 they gonna charge for parking because there are not enough spots available for everyone. Secondly, package handling is not right. Few packages have gone missing for the last few months. Lastly, some dog owners are not cooperative in cleaning their dogs' mess after they poop or urinate. Most importantly, there are not enough cams to spot their neglects.

Great location. Nice amenities. Super close to restaurants and breweries. Also has some free parking available. However, there is Not enough parking for all the residents. My biggest complaint is that residents can be loud and rowdy especially on the weekends. You can hear everything that's goes on in the hallway/club room if you live on that hall. I definitely suggest a unit further from the club room and pool for that reason. Also not a great apartment if you have pets. You aren't allowed to bring your dog out on the deck.

The Scout is a great place to live if you're new to the city or looking to have all amenities within a few steps. Gym, pool and rooftop are great. Also, the apartments are huge! Rent is a little high and utilities, water and internet are not included so compared to the rest of Richmond it is a pricier place to live. However you are walking distance to a lot of great breweries.

I love the apartment itself; it's a lot of space and the balcony view is great! We have struggled with loud, inconsiderate neighbors and trouble using the community amenities. Other than that though, we love using the pool and the gym (which are always in great condition)!

Do not move here! The leasing office staff is unprofessional and not helpful. You will get blamed for maintenance issues even though items in the apartment were not installed correctly. Additionally, there's no enough parking for everyone so you are constantly at fear of being towed.

Parking is a huge issue with many residents and it is yet to be resolved. They are your typical cheaply built and way over priced apartments. Other than parking, there's nothing exceptionally great or terrible about this complex.

Easy move in, but the leasing staff has told us a couple things that did not turn out to be true, including parking situation (not great) and that we were the first to live in our unit (not true, we get mail from the previous tenent)

Staff is super friendly and helpful! Huge apartments, good quality, great location! Parking is the absolute worst, rarely do I find a spot in the lot so I have to find street parking (and the waitlist for a reserved spot is like 30 people long). The package system is also pretty bad. They all just go into a room and you have no idea if/ when you got a package unless you are constantly checking every package in the room (and sometimes they aren't in the room). But with such a big building, that's a lot of packages to go through. Amenities are awesome and (covid permitting) community events are great too! It's a shame parking is such a headache or this would be hands down a great place to live.

Overall, this has been a very enjoyable place to live so far. The complex is new and kept very clean. The leasing staff is super nice and helpful and I've had no maintenance issues to speak of. The amenities - gym, pool, club room, etc. - are pretty nice compared to most places in RVA and the view from the higher floor apartments with (very large) balconies is something that can be hard to find in this area. The one major issue is parking. There are not enough parking spaces for all residents and this was not made abundantly clear during the leasing process. This can be incredibly frustrating if you're someone who always arrives home after 6pm and not something I was expecting in RVA (this isn't exactly Manhattan). Other than that, this is a nice place to call home for a while!

Great, communicative staff that is quick to respond and answer any questions you have for them! The Apartment itself is modern, up-to-date, spacious and clean, with luxurious amenities. It's a busy, young professional area with plenty of local restaurants and bars to hangout at on the weekend!

Amazing experience overall the place is wonderful but could have residents be more mindful of noise they make. Everything about this place is what I've been looking for and couldn't be more grateful to live here

So far I have enjoyed living here, especially with a dog! I am so close to the shops and restaurants of scott's addition but have the luxury of having plenty of grass behind the building for my dog. Great balance of both.

Leasing and move-in process was smooth and the ladies in the leasing office were very easy to work with! Leasing office was very accommodating to my quick turnover I needed to move in. Overall the community is great so far. Amenities and location are the top reasons I decided to move into The Scout.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They have kept close contact with me via email throughout the entire process. The apartment is beautiful, several different layouts but very spacious. There is a dog park, gym, pool, lounge area (with incredible views). Great place to live if you like being outdoors and exploring the endless breweries surrounding the area. My only complaint is the limited on site visitor parking, however street parking is usually available.

My apartment is really spacious and nice. I've had positive experiences with the staff so far. The location is great, though perhaps a little noisy if that's a concern. The amenities (pool, gym, rooftop grill area) are nice.
