Stay away. The security is terrible. They don’t respond to anything. We have constant noise issues that never get responded to. Our neighbors were blasting Christmas music and karaoke until midnight last night. Security never showed up. I’ve never seen the security patrol ever. Additionally the 3/5 gates are broken. One is stuck open so anyone can access the property. I chose this place because it was a gated property. So much for that. One of my guests also was assaulted walking right out front on Stevenson. This place needs real security. ASAP. Stay away until then.

The complex with irresponsible managers and full of Mice! Mice carrying diseases and putting health in danger, making the place totally uninhabitable but irresponsible managers even not answering emails and calls to say sorry! Very Disappointing! It has been 3 months since we moved into a seemingly clean unit at Mission Peaks. 3 weeks ago, we saw lots of mice dropping in our cabinet. Called the office, pest control came and set mice traps and caught TWO mice in the cabinet (Attached photo) and sealed some big holes in the cabinet. We threw away all our food and washed everything in the kitchen. After ten days mice started to keep coming again! Maintenance came and inspected the kitchen and could not find a path that mice are coming through, they did leave without doing anything or having any plan to fix it. We contacted managers to change our unit. At first, she said: "there is no guarantee that there are no mice in other units, as we have mice report from other units too!". We replied we definitely need to change our unit. Since then managers did not even answer our email, I went to the office twice and the manager refused to visit me. They do not answer my call either. We had an awful experience with this complex, we can not sleep, we can not use the kitchen, we hear noises all the time, struggle with anxiety! I strongly suggest you do not waste your time, money, and health in this complex! Attached is a video showing a mouse coming out from our stove just to show you what is happening here at Mission Peaks!

Most management/ front office people are offensive (at best) : racist as worst. They make racial digs, are extremely rude to ------- (can confirm that myself), threaten to break apartment amenities or not fix apartment breaks and leaks if one tries to question them. The buildings/appliances themselves are very old and constantly leaking or breaking down. Maintenance takes a long time. Do youself a favor and live elsewhere.

What I like - My apartment had ample sunlight. Thats the best part and thats what drove me in renting this apartment What I dont like - I. In terms of leasing I spoke with the staff for helping me downgrade to a single bed apartment. They don't give you options. They are ok to let go the tenants. No policy in place to hold back the tenants. They really dont care what you think/feel. 1. They cannot hold back a unit for you (even if you are ready to pay the hold back charges) 2. Staff is not courteous on this point. II. In terms of safety 1. Not a gated community, you will always see people wandering near the dirt bins 2. One of the gates always has a problem, and is always open 3. In my one year stay, people complaining about teens banging doors, packages stolen, teens scaring tenants near kitchens III. In terms of Maintenance I give a three rating for this, they are improving on this aspect, earlier it used to be a 5 day turn around now they are reducing it to three day turn around for a complaint you lodge. IV. In terms of Noise. 1. Pool area really gets noisy, during summers. Thats a minus point, if your home is facing the pool 2. You can hear lot of noises when people walk, the ceiling sounds like its going to come down.

it was dirty through out the premises(shown in the picture) AC made unbearable noise, heater didnt work properly - very cold in winter, worn out dryer, raised complaints but they didn't take it seriously. Abandoned pool area shower room, dirty toilets, forever broken door lock that needs a broken chair to prop close I will not recommend this run down place to anyone.

1 Star = Zero Star. Full of Bed bugs apartment; They should name the complex after bed bugs. Anytime you visit the complex you will see bed bugs treatment going on. They charge around $3000 for treatment which can be done less than 1/6 of the price by 3rd party. The apartment complex is the most horrible complex ever. The leasing office management is the arrogant ever.. I would not recommend to stay at this complex ever. Please look for some other complex before you sign the lease. Essex managements is money minded and you will definitely end up paying hefty penalties. The management has so many rules which is not flexible and makes no sense as the apartments are ages old. Its not been renovated and they charge it as if it some mansion which is totally unacceptable. Do not go with exterior looks or painting look for apartment from inside.

Hi This is Radhika. I lived at Mission Peaks apartment for almost 14 months. If there is an option to give 0% rating then I can give 0. I am not sure how people gave good reviews at these apartments. All the apartments at mission peaks got infected with bed bugs. It is not at all safe for kids to stay in these apartments. Even if we keep the apartment very clean still we cannot escape from bed bugs because complete apartment community got infected. But mission peaks management is not going to accept this fact and put all the fines on us. In past I have lived in Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma City. But these apartments are very worst apartments. Management mainly concentrate on penalties than anything else. Maintenance is very bad. And maintenance guys are very rude. We stayed at home without using bathroom for almost 1 day because there was a repair in toilet. They never ever clean the corridors. Somebody broke my friends car and their GPS got stolen. This community is not at all safe. And management guys they put lot of penalties when we move out from the apartment. Here 8 persons live in single bedroom apartment. Even management knows about this fact but still they ignore because they have to get the money. They will raise rental price every year. It is not at all worth paying $2228 for single bed room apartment. When I tried to explain my concerns to Lisa she gave me Ali email id address. I sent him email regarding my concerns. He is saying you signed the lease agreement you accepted all the conditions so you have to bare all the expenses. Most of the apartments are vacant. And current residents they are leaving. Still there is no change in management. These guys are really blood suckers.. For job purpose I terminated the lease and moved out to Texas from Fremont. These penalties they sent me mail. If you are ready to pay below all the penalties, then please go ahead and choose these apartments. They have put me Lease break 1 month penalty: $2228 For extra 5 days charge: $359.35 For Bedbug Treatment: $504 For Paint: $252 For Carpet Cleaning: $200 Because of bedbugs they cant put apartment in market for that penalty: $1720.43(they say vacancy loss due to bedbugs) Total they have asked me to pay: $5263.78 I was on bench for almost 4 months without salary. But I have paid $5263.78 by taking loan. There should be good law in USA to support residents to protect from rental harrasments.

Been living here for 3 year now and I love the location being central to almost anything I need. The complex itself is well maintained and although some tenants leave large pieces of garbage (e.g. couch) next to the dumpster (so you can't really fault management for that) maintenance crew manage to get them out of the way and out of sight in a timely manner. Requesting for maintenance is pretty easy and quick. People in the leasing office are friendly particularly Analia Beteencourt who for not for her, I would have gone elsewhere. She always says 'hi and how are you?' to me every time I see her outside giving potential renters a tour of the complex. Our neighbor on building M are very loud on the weekend but I called the courtesy patrol one time and he arrived 5 minutes later and the noise went down significantly. Again not the management fault but the speed at they respond to your need is adequate and appreciated.

Overall quality of the apartments and grounds is minimal to poor. They allow pets which is a plus but they charge a monthly fee per pet. The hot tub is broken more than it is working. Tenants do a poor job of keeping their balconies clean and neat (ex. garbage, clothes lines, old furniture and toys thrown out onto balconies). When the balcony issue was brought to the attention of management, they stated they could not control what people do on their balconies. The rent is outrageous for the quality of apartment and it increases several hundred dollars every year. The garbage bins and recycling are usually overflowing for days on end. On a positive note, the maintenance staff are very friendly, helpful, and respond to calls promptly and there is a working fireplace in most 3rd floor apartments.

This is an ok apartment but rent is super high. Cheaper to rent a home. They are advertised and priced as luxury but the apartment is very old - thin walls, bad plumbing, no a/c. But the rent keeps going up by leaps and bounds every year. No value / price here

This means that other related costs, such as utilities, landscaping, city services, maintenance parts, vendor services, gas, etc. have also increased. Please understand that we always provide our residents with the best possible pricing given their specific apartment, market conditions and other related factors. lived here for almost 6 months. I pretty much regretted of moving here. The rent is super expensive, and it is not even close to be considered as a luxury apartment. I live on the ground floor, so my view is the pavement, leaves, and wood (not a prime location as you can tell). The wall is extremely thin; I can hear my neighbors laughing crazily, walking above, and even snoring! The patio outside is bad; for the price I paid, it should have been at least a concrete ground. It is a wooden patio, so raining water will drop down to my patio instead of being drained elsewhere. Sewage is horrendous. When someone above or next door goes to bathroom, you can hear the sound of running sewage water from the pipe. Nowadays, there are random solicitors ringing the doorbell asking for something. I never open the door because I want to protect the safety of my family. Management does not seem to care about this issue.

With this expectation, however, we request that residents be mindful of noise from the use of controllable sources, such as televisions or other activity. .. The place is OK but MANAGEMENT WORKS REALLY HARD to make you feel your are NOT AT HOME ,the manager thinks she owns this place and people that lives here are her workers, when people move out the apartments they're always charged extra money to on top of the security deposit and you also pay higher rent for the nice amenities but forget about using the computers if you're lucky to get an internet connection when you are on the slow computer people from the leasing office will usually come to rush you and ask how long are you going to be in the computer because they have to use them.In my opinion of 4 years living here this place is bad to worse and the manager is nice until you move in. There are Better options in Fremont and a lot cheaper I can't wait until I move out of this hostile environment

We have lived here for several years. This is an ok apartment overall. But the value to price ratio is very low. The rents were high but recently they increased enormously - a $400 increase this year! Considering its not a new apartment - its a pretty old apartment : the flooring, cabinets and microwave have been renovated to newer, sliding doors and other appliances are still old; It has the plumbing issues common to most old apartments, the grounds are good; the walls are thin and there is only one wall a/c, no central a/c. The proximity to BART is definitely a plus for those who use it regularly. Considering all this, the monthly rent is extremely high. If it were lower, it would have been a decent place to stay.

This is not for living there, but for trying to rent there. My husband and I went to try and speak with a leasing agent about a month and a half before we needed to move. I did not realize we needed an appointment, and it was a busy day. I can understand this can be stressful for the people working in the front office, however, after waiting to speak with one of the women in the office, she said there was no point in talking. She wouldn't even take 5 minutes to speak with us to give us basic information. Ok, fine, busy day, we're planning ahead, while I thought her response was not the friendliest, maybe she was having a bad day. Go forward a couple of months (we changed our move date in the futile hope that rent prices would start to stabilize)and I tried to make an appointment to see another apartment. No one ever called me back. They have 11 one bedroom apartments available. We will not be pursuing this, as, if this is how they treat their potential tenants, I can only imagine how they treat their current ones.

Changing jobs and moving is always stressful but the staff at Mission Peaks (Faith,Patty and Jennifer)were just fabulous! They were always quick to respond on any issue or questions. I have lived in four different states and this move was stellar. I rented an apartment site unseenand by telling them what I wanted obtained the perfect apartment with a beautiful view. Mission Peaks were so considerate of the stresses of moving and they exceeded my expectations. This was the best move in over thirty years. I took a walk on the grounds the first night and spoke to other residents that were also very happy at Mission Peaks. I have a fabulous dog walking service (Wolfgang) here at the apartments. i would recomend Mission Peaks to anyone due to the location and freindly helpful staff. Deborah Crotty

Enjoyed our stay at Mission Peaks

We stayed at Mission Peaks for less than 4 months -- it was a temporary stop while moving from Hawaii to San Francisco -- but we enjoyed our stay there and have absolutely no complaints. Pros: 1. Amazingly quiet. We were in building J on the top floor, and I guess we got lucky with our neighbors because we had absolute quiet for much of the time. We hardly heard the nearby BART construction too. We're used to a city environment so a little noise wouldn't have bothered us, but this was almost eerily quiet at times. 2. Unit was a good size and had a nice layout. We were in a 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit (1000 sq ft); the bedrooms and bathrooms in particular were a good size. It also had an in-unit full size washer and dryer, a great feature. 3. We had absolutely no problems with the staff (front office and maintenance). The people in the front office were easy to work with and always helpful. Since we were there such a short time, we only had one minor maintenance issue (one of the smoke alarms was constantly beeping), and it was dealt with within a couple hours of us reporting it. 4. We always hear horror stories about management taking huge chunks of the security/cleaning deposits upon moving out, but we were pleasantly surprised that we got most of our money back. Granted we were there only a few months so the place was still looking relatively clean when we left, but we were very pleased with the amount and promptness of the refund. 5. Location is a short walk to BART and the library, two places we utilized quite frequently. 6. The complex is very pet friendly (we had cats), and the grounds were well maintained. 7. Ample parking. There always seemed to be plenty of empty unassigned spots available for guests. Cons: 1. We knew this going in, but having an apartment on the 3rd floor was a bit of a mixed blessing. There's no one above us to worry about (see #1 in the Pros section), but we underestimated the extra work needed in going up and down the stairs when moving in/out, bringing back groceries, etc. It was good exercise, but since we were going to be there such a short time, maybe a lower floor apartment would've worked better for us even with upstairs neighbors. 2. Similarly, our assigned parking spot was a bit of a walk to our front door. There were closer (unassigned) spots, but those tended to fill up fast. Again, we knew this when we signed the lease so this was no surprise. All in all, if we ever move back to the Fremont area and need an apartment, we would gladly stay at Mission Peaks again.

The complex looks very safe, it's really well kept and the neighbors seem to be good people. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, particularly Jeanelle and Patti. We were planning to see other apartments but our search ended at Mission Peak II. My wife and I couldn't be happier.

I have been a resident at Mission Peaks for over 3 years and absolutely love it. The grounds are beautiful, the apartments are spacious and the staff is beyond description. Whether it be maintance or the girls in the office, I have always been treated with respect. I can't say the same thing for some of the residents here. They think that the only thing the employees have to do is listen to their whining. I have been embarrassed at times when in the office and overheard the way they speak to the staff. No one deserves that! These individuals are only doing their job. They always handle difficult situations with grace and diplomacy. Remember - treat others the way you want treated!

I know that most reviews are from people that want to complain, the people that are happy just keep renewing their lease, but I felt it important to share with people considering Mission Peaks that it is a grea place to live. I have always found the staff, both office and maintenance, very polite and considerate. I cannot say the same of some of the extremely rude obnoxious residents that seem to feel the staff is there to ask like personal servants. Get a grip people, it's an apartment and most of the problems in your unit, you cause yourself. What goes around, comes around. Anyway, the landscaping is lush, the new BBQ area is lovely reight next to the pool and there is nothing wanting about this property.

I just re-sign my lease for another year. I love it here, the staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. The maintenance personel are always smiling and whenever I have opened up a maintenance request, it was resolved that same day. The apartment is well kept, clean and spacious. I love the location, right across the street from the Lake, Police dept and Library. I feel very safe here, the neighbors are quiet and friendly. I especially love the gym, pool and areobic room. They have a class every other Monday night. I looked around before re-signing my lease and could not find a better place to live.

I have only lived there a short time but I really like it. My aparmtent is well shaded and visitor parking seems very available. I made a non-emergency maintenance request in the morning and it was completed correctly by the time I got home from work. Everyting went smoothely with the move-in details. Good fitness center and mail is protected by a secured building.

Comfortable, safe, convenient, quiet, affordable apartment

The short story: I love living here and have very few complaints. The details: I'm going to break this review into the following categories: the unit itself/price, the overall complex amenities, the management, the utilities people, and location/safety. THE UNIT ITSELF/PRICE: I live in a third floor, 1 bedroom apartment in one of the west units (close to Stevenson Ave). I really love the layout of our unit because we only have one neighbor, and we can barely ever hear them. We have a staircase on one side, a hallway on the other and a porch on the other side. Thus, unlike others, we have had absolutely no problems with thin walls or noise, except that sometimes the downstairs people do have parties on the weekends (so we can hear people on the outside porches). Almost everything in the apartment seemed really new when we arrived, especially the kitchen items, however the carpet is a little old and not super nice (which is expected in a unit that accepts cats/dogs). The price is reasonable for the area, and it should be noted that pets cost an extra $50 a month but this complex does accept cats and dogs. I was worried about dog smells but I don't smell them at all. OVERALL COMPLEX AMENITIES: We love that this place has an outdoor pool (hey, we're from the northwest so it's definitely a novelty to us!) as well as a hot tub, workout complex, sauna, fitness room, meditation room, and beautiful grounds. They really keep the overall complex looking really nice, and it just has a very quiet, calm, family feel to it. MANAGEMENT: Unlike others, I've had 0 problems with the management. Everything has been super easy - we just have our bill on an auto-payment. Really, no complaints from my experience, they are all really nice, albeit a little busy sometimes. There is one man in particular (most of the staff is female) who is super nice all the time, always smiling and always willing to help - I really appreciate that! UTILITIES PEOPLE: Unlike others, I've had no problems getting stuff fixed, people have always come right away. You can put work requests through online, it's very convenient. We once put a bunch of veggies down the disposal (don't ask why) and totally broke it, and the maintenance folks came within 24 hours. It was disgusting and they didn't make us feel stupid for it (although we deserved to!). LOCATION/SAFETY: I really love this location as it's only a couple blocks from BART and right next to a beautiful park. It's also really close to the Fremont Library and the police station, which makes me feel safe. The only problem is, as others have mentioned, it's really easy to get into the complex - cars have to have a code, but others can simply walk in. I think it would be better to have a fence around the whole place to increase the safety. We have also had a fair amount of people coming door to door to sell random stuff, which I would really prefer did not happen, but it's unrealistic to think that an apartment complex could really prevent that. I believe the overall low reviews come from people who live on low down units, or perhaps units that are older. If you are worried about the construction, I live near it and it is not too loud. Due to the lack of a fence, I'd prefer to give this a 4.5 out of 5, but since I have to give it a general rating I'm gonna round up, just because overall everything is really great (and there is a complex next door that has a fence but is MUCh more expensive, so I'm assuming that places with fences all around will cost more)...I honestly don't understand the bad reviews, and hope people give it a chance!
