Overrated !!!!
I've been a resident for several months now. And I can't wait till my lease is up. Rent is way too high!! When my lease is up, I'm moving out and buying a home. My rent is about the same price for a mortgage.

The construction is not needed at this moment. Management should be attepting to keep its residents happy with new gym equipments, an elevator that doesn't vibrate(and its permit has expired!) and new carpet. The construction is too loud! The construction begiins at about 8am and ends at 5pm.

If you are looking for the lavish hollywood life style, this is not the place. Move somewhere else but here.

LOUD CONSTRUCTION!!!
The residents here just received a letter today explaining that the management is spending $3.4M on renovations that are unneccessary and a general all around annoyance.

The construction starts early in the morning and continues all day long.

Here is what they're doing: New Landscaping. Why? It was fine.

They're repainting the beautiful Terracotta paint on the building and replacing it with a hideous olive (puke) green and blue combo.

They're expanding the gym. Really all they needed to do is buy some new equipment.

They're repainting the parking lots. Who cares???

They're adding firepits to the courtyards. Why???

Oh and the sundeck which no one uses is going to have a BBQ (umm...ok...) and a roof top theater! (HUH???) WTH???

They should have just saved their money and repainted the building it's original color, bought some new gym equipment and replaced the carpeting.

Now we're stuck with loud construction noises for the next "several" months and the mess they're creating in the courtyards.

Thanks again, Serravella! LOL. Can't wait to move out of this place!

Stay Away!!!
I'm warning any renters who may be interested in this apartment building to keep on looking! When I moved into here 2yrs ago the management was friendly, organized and professional.

The new management that started here in January is the exact opposite. And now they've decided to paint the building from a beautiful terracotta color to a hideous blue, olive green. They've dug out plants on the ground floor and the construction is loud and starts early in the morning. The parking gate breaks often and takes a long time to be fixed.

Security doesn't come in until 8pm so if someone parks in your spot, like it happened to me the other day, you have nowhere to park for hours. You barely see the security guards walking around anymore either.

We're planning to move out at the end of our lease this year. That about sums it up.

Drug Raids/Break Ins
My friend has lived there fot about a year. She came home about 6 months ago to find her door broken down and as she got closer she saw the LA County Sherrif's Deputy in SWAT gear with his German Shepard in her doorway. Inside there were another 4 LAPD in bulletproof vests, shotguns and Riot Helmets. After they strip searched her and went through her belongings, they informed her that they had caught a drug dealer in the building who said he was living in her apartment. So rather than do any investigation of this guys information they just got a search warrant, busted into her place and turned it upside down. They went through EVERYTHING.vImagine how violating that is. At least they were nice enough to use one of her bowls to fill with water for the police dog. All she got from the LAPD was an "oops, sorry." From the management? it took them 2 months to fix her door so it would finally lock again properly.

A month after that she was one of a number of people who had their apartments broken into and their laptop computers stolen.

Sounds like my kind of place! Next thing you know they'll designate the place as a reality TV set and up the rent even more. Renter beware.

The last review is very accurate. They all lie. The new management team does not care about you at all. They lost my lease for months. How does that happen? I had a slight question, nothing big, and they said they would call me within 2 weeks. 2 weeks later I go down to inquire, they said they would call me in 2 weeks. Over 2 months later I get a response.................with apologies of course........cause they care. I went down to the office this morning to get a package from my mom, I only had 10 minutes before I had to be at work, and guess who was in the office??????????? NOBODY AT ALL. Am I surprised???? not at all. They are ALL very unprofessional and absolute liars

Most unprofessional I have ever dealt with!!!!
I moved in a year ago under management that was great. The building since has gotten new management and fallen apart. Is loud almost every unit has a one or two dogs which continuously bark. There is urine and fecies in hallways, elevators, and grounds on a daily basis. New management is very unprofessional. Monitor every paper u turn in and person u turn them into even take a picture of them with ur cell if u have to. They all lie, are unprofessional and do not take notes if you come down and talk to them.

My contract is up in 2 weeks and we have been counting down this event since the day we moved in! Good Riddens to this place!

STOP COMPLAINING ALREADY!
Well I've lived here for three months now and honestly its been pretty good. I heard of the managment changing when I moved in....and honestly I havent had a major problem here. Hey its Hollywood!!!! ofcourse your gonna have residents here that are young like me and yeah their are pets here but I mean its the owners responsability to clean up after their dogs. Managment here is pretty good everytime I got a problem they have fixed it in time. The office is pretty helpful when ever I have a question and since i pay my rent on time i never have a problem with them. I gues people who complain must be because they're just not organized enough to pay their rent on time. So yeah i would recomended to a friend since its a really nice place to live in.

DON'T DO IT!!
You will be miserable! This has been the worst living situation of my life. From Management, or lack there of, to the the noise at ALL hours of the day and night, it is awful!! My lease is up next month and I will be moving out, but from what I hear, they are raising rates...considerably. NOT worth the money or the headache! There are too many 20-somethings here who are aspiring rock stars...annoying. Also, the pet feces and urine in the halls, elevators, and courtyards...unacceptable.

It's OK
We have lived at Serravella for six months. That includes the latest management change which had a slight improvement in response time. We have had some noise issues, both in tangent units and the hallways. Lots of twenty-somethings live here. All my local neighbors have been very nice (even the one I asked to turn down his TV and "Mr. Guitar" downstairs.
The unit is nice as apartments go. We thought it a little pricey, but hey, it was close to the new job. The laundry facility is very nice. Hallway carpets need replacing. They are pet friendly (we have two dogs)-- the problems with pets are ALL owner isssues. Why don't people with pets have any common courtesy? We wouldn't be moving but we've lost part of our income and they have just raised the rent $65. Check it out for yourself before trusting the nay-sayers.

DO NOT LIVE HERE
Trust me, from one decent human being to another, living in this apartment was the worst decision I have ever made. Not only is there animal urine and feces ALL over the premises, but its loud and poorly maintained. The rent is exorbitant for what you are getting, and the management is not helpful in the least. On top of all this, they will NOT give you back your deposit. After leaving my apartment is great shape, they took the whole deposit and put it toward renovating the apartment, leaving me with an additional balance of $200. Seriously, I would not want ANYONE to experience what I went through.

Horrendous new management
Previous management wasn't great but a treat compared to the new team. Total crooks who spent more time to find legal ways to make you pay extra fees and increase the rent every chance they get rather than keep the place a happy one to live in... Many tenants have been complaining about security (parking gate left open, security nowhere to be seen at night, etc.). Are now changing their pet policy and increasing all the rents. I definitely would not recommend to anyone to rent there, very overpriced and terrible service.

New Management and Nothing Has Changed
Received a notice that we have new management. I thought that they would do something about the noise at 2:30am-4am all week when the partied up residents come in. I called the management office and they said to call security. Who in the heck wants to call security when you have to get up in 2-3 hours for work! It's not my job to keep this place sane for them. I told them it is not unusal to be distrubed at least 2 times a week or more. No exageration! Why don't they not post someone at the front entrance to keep the peace when the drunk residents come in the door?
I am out of this place and would never recommend it to anyone. Anyone I know, the working class, would kill me if they rented here on my recommendation. Leave this place to the students. Not for the working professional.

If you have problem their incompetence will never solve it...I would never ever recommend this place to anyone...I don't even wanna see this building ever again in my whole life!!!!

good for students
I lived on 1710 N Fuller for almost two years before, and it wasn't as bad as everyone here states. We were a lot of friends, students and people who worked that really enjoyed living in those apartments. The neigbours were like neighbours are most. I guess we paid a few too many dollars on move out day, but prior to that everything was fine. I also liked that there were always staff, so you could feel safe in a not so safe place.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY
This place is a big rip-off. It is owned by a huge corporation (Fairfield Properties) and it shows. There are almost 300 units in the building and only once in the year that I lived there was there ever a "tenent mixer." Apartment buildings like this one are what add to the misery of living in L.A. No one knows anybody else and people are afraid of everyone else and people are rude to everyone else. It starts at the top down. If the management was interested in "community," then there would be a community. As it stands, I feel like I'm a consumer being raped.

Most of the people who live in this building are not polite in hallways/elevators, etc.

Gunshots?
First of all let me say this isn't south Central but it is the city. My apartment overlooks Hollywood Boulevard and I have never heard any gunshots. The place is pretty quiet except for the occassional loud music or barking dog, but ultimately it is in the perfect location for me. I haven't met any hookers around here, but this is Hollywood so let me know if you see one. Far as the staff goes, I haven't had a problems with them, I pay my rent on time and my service requests get completed. This is a pretty cool place to meet people, they have pizza a couple of times a month and breakfast on Sunday for some of the other tenants. Hallways are kept clean, and I have seen a huge difference in the property over the last few months.

Lots are Meth Addicts and Crime, horrible management
I lived at Seravella and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It looks decent, although latley they are not taking care of the carpets in the halls. But they call this area "Crystal Heights" because all the Methamphetamine dealers and users live in this area for some reason. Don't count on getting your deposit back, they fight you no matter how perfect and clean you leave it. Gunshots are heard at least once in a while, and the cops are always there for some major reason. Roaches are a problem, and the walls are thin. They painted the place a few years back, put in crown moulding, and then doubled the rents. The prices they want are outrageous you learn as soon as you spend a weekend night there. No none who lives there has a real job, just hoookers, drug dealers, and struggling wannabe actors. Better to get several roomates in a nicer place then live alone in the dump

not that bad
the apt is not that bad... as come claim. i've lived here for an entire year and if u like the traffic... busy night life...& can tolerate dogs i'd say to totally go for it. compared to some places in l.a. this place is not that bad. parking isn't too bad... but the traffic is HORRIFIC. its a young community, where there aren't any families (i don't think i've seen), so of course on the weekends it can get pretty loud. but i don't care... i think its all preference... some hate it. some love it. i'm somewhere in between... where i don't really care... but i just wanted to comment on how some of these are blown out of proportion... i've never heard gun shots... or bums sleeping in the stairways... of course i do hear the occasional bf/gf fights...its the real world.

Great Place to Live!!
The staff is very helpful. They answered all my questions and are never to busy to help me find my way around town! Its nice to know you have an office staff that is constantly building a relationship with the residents and not just interested in taking your money. You can really tell they love there job and the people they work with....

I Made A Referral and Now My Friend Is Not So Happy
I referred a new coworker to live in the apartment complex because they knew nothing of the area. I was optomistic that small improvements being made would continue. My new friend finally decided to rent here. They came by after a long weekend of shopping around. They forgot to put name down on the "How Did You Find Us" but mentioned to the leasing agent I had referred them. I called after a weeks time when I found out they forgot. The manager told me frankling that I was not telling the truth in certain words and he could do nothing because of the corportate office. As well, my friend was driving from her hotel to the apartment to take posession of the apartment on the lease date of moving in and was told on her cell phone that she could not move in. They told her the apartment was still being prepared. They had to turn around and check back in to the hotel and did not get the keys for 2 more days. They told me that the leasing agent was uncaring that it was a hardship on them. I was so imbarassed by the incident. I no longer talk with anyone in the office unless I have too. They talk to you like your a prisoner, stupid and they hold all the cards. I'm a resonable and responsible renter and they talk to others like me as well. The renters do talk with each other and I am not alone on this one.
We had 4 robberies in our building on one day in one weekday afternoon! They were breakins to apartments were they were stealing computers. Inside job I would think.

Noisy, expensive, and crappy.
I have been living at Serravella for about 4 months.

The noise sucks. I often have to sleep with earplugs. A lot of the people who live here are immature, and party all night. When you're paying more than $1200 a month for a studio apt., you don't expect to have to use earplugs. Tenants are legally entitled to peace and quiet during the night, but I doubt that management will do anything. People are always moving in and out of this building for various reasons. They are more concerned about getting you in than keeping you.
The elevators are always a problem. Often, only one of them is running in 1720. The door slams on one really hard, and could probably injure an animal or small person. They take better care of 1710, anyway.

The dog feces/urine thing is annoying, but mostly because the tenants don't clean up after their animals. Sometimes there is dog pee in the elevators, because the poor animal can't hold it to get outside. The dog was probably busting because his owner didn't take him out soon enough. Like I said, there are a lot of immature people living here.

Sometimes you can't park in your assigned spot because someone else already did, and the management won't do anything for 24 hours. Other cars can get in past the gate because it is often left open due to management and the high moving rate of tenants.

The only good thing is that, it is a good building for pet owners. There are lots of dogs, and lots of barking, so nobody will bother you if your dog barks a lot, which mine doesn't anyway. The location to the dog part at Runyon Canyon is a big plus as well.

Overall, this place is not worth the money.
Current Tenant, Horrible place
Dont get sucked into living here. The managment I dealt with before moving in lied through her teeth about almost everything. The current managment does not give a dam about the tenants. This place is so over priced for what you get it is ridiculous. I am so looking forward to when my lease is up...
