This is some BS
Please for the sake of God and your children do not live here. If you like dog poop, rude staff, mold, roaches, scorpions, and anything of the sort go head and have a ball. This is a piece of crap. There has been doodoo water raining in my bathroom for 3 weeks and no one to fix it. they finally came out so now there has been a hole in my ceiling with a garbage bag taped over it for 1 week and i guess isnce I am moving they dont feel the need to fix it. The people that say these apartments are great are lying. They probably live this way that is why it is great for them. Watch your step and your back living here bc you never know what will happen. If you like living in the hood you can stay here but pay twice as much for it.

Great experience
I've lived here since June of 05. When I first moved in my water heater didn't work, they fixed it temporarily, and in no time I was the recipient of a brand new water heater. My only current objection is to the ongoing problem with the dumpsters and the parents who park their cars in the way as they lazily wait for their kids to get off the bus.
As far as bugs go, I believe its not a problem unique to Brighton Crest. As a graduate student I have lived in different apartment complexes for a couple of years now, and bugs are not a new issue. What is great though is that pest service is available, note that u have to request it b/c afterall the office isn't omniscient.
Noisey neighbors, again, are part of the apartment "experience". One thing I have found to work, is simply and politely asking them to quiet down. I also added a reason, like an upcomming test, project, paper or what have you.
Above all else remember to have and exhibit personal responsibility.

Great Place to Live
I have been here over a year and love it.I have also been in Property Managment for 5 years and this is one of the best properties I've seen.Would you actually listen to someone who mistakes the word lease for license?(A couple of reviews down.)Check it out for yourself is all I can say.I will live here until I decide to buy a house.

No problems
Everyone seems to write reviews when they are mad so i am taking the time to write one now that i'm not. I've only lived here about 3 weeks but it's cool so far. It's quite, work-orders are fixed the next day. The only thing is the jacuzzi is usually dirty. I got a great deal on my place to!! I love the location it's isolated but about 5-10 minutes from everything. Plus everyone in the office greets me by name!

Not a place for anyone
I have been living here for a year, and I am looking for a new place, the office is so rude, they hate to admit to their mistakes, It took them a week to fix a flood in my kitchen told me I should move the fridge and I was pregnant at the time (7mos) there aren't a problem as far as bugs, just they like to mess with u and act stupid about it. The garbage is ridiculous nasty, pool situation is crazy noisy a%& people untill 3am can't sleep. The gym is always broken. I wouldn't recommend it at all. And there is never any parking .

Hope you like to sleep with ear plugs!
I moved in last summer and had some creepy crawling visitors (large cockroaches) but they went away once I set multiple traps around the apartment. Things were ok for a while until a new upstairs neighbor moved-in. Since then I have had to sleep with earplugs because every time the neighbor gets up at night it wakes me up. Also, the neighbor has a young child and every time the kid cries, I hear it. I assume this is because the apartment building is old. Also, if you move here be ready to come home sometimes and see muddy footprints in your carpet from some dumb maintenance person trouncing through your home, without your knowledge. I am moving out as soon as my lease is up and look forward to that day.

People are getting sick
Since I have been here there have been major water damage and mold issues. I and other residence had gotten very ill. They even let the last person who live in my apartment out of their license because of the mold problems and did not tell me that was the reason or fix the problems.

I see that some people are happy, that might be because there are so many building maybe some of them are kept up. The building I am (16) in is not. I would not move here and if you live here and have had problems please contact me as I am getting a group of people together to help fix this problem.

Charles Osborn
cfo6c@yahoo.com

No problems here...great place to live.
I have read the other reviews, and I have to say, I am a bit surprised. I have lived in a 1-BR apartment at Brighton Crest for about 11 months now, and I haven't experienced ANY of the problems other reviewers have.

I don't use the workout facility, and I don't go to the pool, so I can't speak about that. I also haven't needed the assistance of the maintenance staff, so I can't comment on that either.

However, I have NEVER seen an insect in my apartment. I am NOT the cleanest person in the world either. When I moved into my apartment, there was new carpet and fairly new appliances. Perhaps that's why I've not had any pest problems. The apartments are VERY well insulated, as I've never even HEARD any of my neighbors.

I looked long and hard when I was apartment-hunting, and believe me, Brighton Crest is a great deal. It is one of the few properties that is all-electric and provides a washer/dryer.

My rent is a little high, but I feel that living in Brighton Crest is VERY worth it.

Keep in mind that when someone has a negative experience, they are more inclined to react(such as taking the time to write a bad review). People who are content may not be as motivated to voice their opinions. That's the only way I account for all these bad reviews.

Do yourself a favor and keep looking...
Some of the units offer awesome views of downtown (on the few days you can see though the smog). But I continually have issues with maintenance, and bugs. I've seen where someone get's evicted, and management leave garbage piled out in the breezeway for WEEKS - and not like an old stinky couch, actual garbage - that the feral cats and racoons and whatever in the neighboorhood dig into and drag all over the place.

If you enjoy the ricer scene and the morons that drive thier super cool, super high output, loud, $700, 4 banger racing Honda Civics with $8000 Wheels, You'll love it here - almost like living "Too Fast and too furious" - isn't that a song?

The absolute worst place to live!!!
If you are interested in not sleeping during the night, dog pooh everywhere, and a place where the trash compactor is only cleaned twice a week, Then Brighton Crest is the Place for You. The staff changes every week and no one in the office knows what the heck is going on. They charge $75.00 for a late fee for rent and $10.00 everyday afterward, but you don't see where the money goes; surely not for improvements on the community. I will never rent from another Aimco Property!!

Not a great place to live!
The reason I moved into this apartment complex was the spectacular view. In the year that I have lived here, the view has been the ONLY thing I have enjoyed. There is a workout facility but every machine is always broken. There are bugs everywhere. My appliances are extremely old and the office staff has refused to replace them. Whenever I place work orders, it takes atleast 48 hours for the maintenance staff to come out. When they finally do make it out, I have to call them back again because they never fix it the first time. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!

Like spiders and other creepy crawlers, this place is for you!
I don't recommend. The communinty is invested with spiders, scorpions and roaches. If you value your childs safety and health, my suggest is to look elsewhere. The staff is young and in experience. Every other day you see a new maintenance person. It is hard to tell who works at the community due to the turn over in both office and maintenance staff. If you like strange men in your home coming to repair things, you'll love this place. They have gotten better in response time to repair, but the quality is lax. Pest control is on the schedule every monday. This should have been my red flag that a problem exist. Spend your money some place else. Don't recommend!

Great value if you like the burbs
If you don't mind living in Marietta, this place is a great deal! It's not perfect, but I have lived here since January 2004 and have been very happy, aside from the location. I only pay $529 for a one-bedroom with a washer/dryer included in the apartment. The inside is clean and appliances are modern.

The few times I've needed something repaired the maintenance men have been to my place within 24 hours to fix it. For the most part the people here are pretty quiet. I didn't have a problem with noise until a few months ago when some new neighbors moved in, but that has since been taken care of. If you call and complain the staff will immediately call or visit the offender. They do take complaints seriously. The lengths they go to keep the grounds clean are almost absurd. I have watched workers drive their cars into the parking lot, pick up one cigarette butt, and throw it away!

It means a lot to me to have management that actually cares and is responsive to requests (no, I don't work here). It's no Melrose Place, but they occasionally host parties and events for tenants (mostly young professionals and students), give you bags of goodies in the morning and give you a free newspaper every month. Not enough to move there, but it's something!

One minor complaint is the strange bugs. It's on top of a mountain near a woody area, so I'm always seeing strange and unusual bugs in or outside (when I'm lucky) of my apartment. Spiders, centepedes, beetles. I don't think the apartment has much control over this. There are roaches sometimes, but just as with the noise, roaches are a fact of apartment living and there is no way to eliminate them completely. As much as I hate them you have to be realistic. Wherever you live, you are going to have roaches from time to time. I've never been infested though and haven't seen one in a while (knock on wood).

The biggest drawback is that this place is located in Marietta. I'm young and single and tired of commuting to work and play, so I'm on the search for a place in-town. It is only a few minutes from 75, which is convenient. I wish this same complex (and prices) was located in Midtown!

One other thing: If you pay about $30 more a month you can get a city view apartment (I wanted to save my money). It's located on Blackjack Mountain and I can see the entire skyline of Atlanta from the parking lot.

Nice view for a ------
Live here only if you have a fondness of cockroaches, loud floorboards, cars without mufflers, annoying speed bumps, bodily fluids in the hot tub, and non-responsive maintenance men with goiters.
