I lived in Windsor South for two years from 2012 to 2014. It's a very nice apartment complex. The grounds are well maintained and particularly attractive with many mature trees and flowers. The neighborhood is quiet and is a good place for walks. There are places to eat nearby as well as a Cub Foods and a Walgreens within walking distance. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the maintenance people are exceptionally nice and good at their jobs. Maintenance requests are handled promptly. Even though the official policy for cats is that they must be declawed you can have a cat with claws if you sign an addendum to your lease. There is an additional deposit for having a cat and an addition to your monthly rent. Compared to other apartment complexes there's plenty of parking. I never had a problem parking close to my entrance. In addition to monthly rent you pay your share of the community's water bill. This can be $20 - $25 per month. The fitness center is small with only a few pieces of equipment (including 2 ellipticals). There's a nice outdoor pool.

I have moved in this spring and very surprised and how quiet & peacful the property is (even on weekends). I love sitting on my deck and reading. The grounds are well maintained. Buildings are older build so there are some creaky floors in some areas. management and staff are very professional, personable and more than willing to assist when I need something. Neighborhood is great,close grocery store, lots of food place to eat at and walking trails & lakes.

Building is clean. Bathroom and kitchen are dated. Close to everything. Lots to do in the area. Parking in the lot can be an issue. Several broken down cars - despite notices that they'll be towed at owners expense - so at peak times lot can be full. Management isn't respectful of tenants and will enter apartments without notice.

I have lived at Windsor South for almost a year now and I am so happy I found this place! The area is full of things to do. I like that I can go for a nice quiet walk after work and then come home to a quiet community too! Summers are definately the best here since there is a pool and the lake across the road is great if you like to be by the water. I really appreciate that they are making some of the buildings smoke free. I am sensitive to smoke so this will be a huge bonus for me. I am definately renewing!

I loved living here. It's not far from Minneapolis at all. The staff is amazing. They go above and beyond on everything. The maintenance crew is the best. I lived here for a year and a half, and can think of nothing bad to day. I highly recommend living here.

I was very happy with this apartment. Management is fantastic. They are there daily and have hours that make them available to tenants when they are needed. The area is great, next to a cub foods, wal-mart, multiple parks and tennis courts, and two great walking paths.

My daughter was very happy with her apartment in Windsor South until her recent deeath. In the few days we were there to clear her apartment, we were impressed with the appearance of the apartment complex, the grounds and the professionalism and courtesy of the staff.

The moment we saw this place, both my son and I knew this was going to be our new place to call home. We love living here, we feel safe, and I would recommend living here to anyone. The staff that works here is very nice, friendly, always concerned about their tenants, and handle any maintenance matters in a timely, and efficiently manner. The parking here is ample, and I never have a problem finding a space. Also, the parking lot is well-lit, so we always feel safe going to and from our car when it s dark. As far as noise issues go, I have never experienced any. It is very quiet here, even on the weekends. I have never heard loud radios, screaming neighbors, or even loud children. It is very peaceful. Even my son, who is 5, says it s not like the last place we lived, it s much quieter here. The grounds are well maintained, and in the spring there are beautiful flowers they have planted everywhere, grass is always mowed, and they have an outdoor pool, which is always kept clean. They take pride in keeping the area nice and clean, and they do an excellent job too. When it comes to safety, we feel really safe here. When I first moved here I was stopped by one of my neighbors as I was coming home late at night, and he was asking if he could help me, and if I lived here, and that made me feel good. I like that he did that. He was looking just out for everyone, and making sure no one was here that wasn t supposed to be. The people that live here are very nice, and look out for one another all the time. The maintenance guys are great, and I haven t had really any issues, but when I did, they were here right away, and fixed the problem. So no complaints at all. Overall, we feel safe here, the staff is excellent, they take pride in keeping the grounds looking nice and clean, there is no noise, and plenty of parking.

Nice, clean and friendly place to live. Walking distance to lots of things and close to everything else. Natalie and the office staff were always willing to help with anything that came up. The maintenance guys knew how to maintain a fine apartment complex. It was the most quiet place I've ever lived. Parking was always close to the door. My children liked the pool and the workout room.

As a resident of Windsor south for just over two years I never had a single problem with my neighbors of management. If I ever had a maintenance issue it was resolved promptly and professionally. The maintenance staff was always cordial and respectful of our privacy. Especially during the summer when my 16 year old daughter would be home during the day. I recently signed a new year lease. just after this took place my girlfriend and I found a home we wished to purchase. I discussed this with management and they did everything in their power to make sure I could be released from my lease early with the most minimal of charges. This is a great example of how the entire staff has gone above and beyond the norm of customer service to ensure I had a pleasant experience at windsor south from beginning to end.

Great Community - Very Well Managed!

As a resident for over ten years, my family and I chose this community for our home because it is centrally located, safe and friendly neighborhood, and near a very highly rated school district. The management staff, presently, and for the last few years have been superior in managing this apartment community! The apartments, common area buildings, facilities, landscaping are all very well maintained. Management is very responsive to all residents and they do a very great job at advocating for continued open communications from residents. They have diligently improved this property tremendously over the past few years and help make it a pleasure to live here and call this place home!

Residents of 11 Years

We have been residents of the Windsor South for 11 years. During that time we never had any issues with management or staff. Everyone was always been very nice and most helpful. Community is very well maintained; especially landscaping (which is one of the nicest in the area). Current management team is great, especially Thomas who is by far the best community managers we had over all of these years. I totally disagree with all the negative reviews on this site and would highly recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a nice and quiet community with a great courtyard.

It's home

I'm in my 4th year at Windsor South. The management team have been extraordinarily helpful and quick to fix whatever problem, maintainence or otherwise that arises. I have never lived in so quiet a community. You think of apt. complexes as being noisey just because of the numbers of people living in such close proximity, but it isn't like that here. Very easy to sleep at night, or during the day if you choose. There have been a few tenants, from time to time, who disrespect the privacy and needs of others but, believe me, they don't last long. Keeping the grounds free of debris, the apts. maintained and the environment very livable seems to be the main focus of the team. No, I'm not crazy about the fitness room, but I guess you can't please all the people all the time. I have a wonderful walking path without leaving the Windsor South grounds. Do I recommend this place for a nice place to live? You bet I do!!.

Not many good things about this place.

I have not enjoyed my experience at Windsor South. The one thing I really do like is the lack of noise from the other tenants. It is usually very quiet during the day and night. First impressions of the place were very high. It looked nice and the manager seemed okay. But then I started living there and learned it really wasn't all that good. The maintenance men usually do a below average job in fixing things. While I have never had anything missing from my apartment after they were done, I do not trust them at all. And now I would rather try to fix whatever is wrong myself or just leave it broken until I can have a friend handle it for me. I do not want them in my apartment. We actually had some serious issues with our laundry room for a very long time. It has since been updated to all new machines that work probably. But we went for SEVERAL months with only 1 working dryer and 1 working washing machine. So there were 2 broken washers and dryers in the laundry room for an entire building. That made it so hard to wash clothes. In my opinion, I don't think they wanted to spend the money to fix them since they knew eventually they were going to replace them. Unacceptable. The parking is average. I usually a ways to walk though when I park a little farther away than I would like. But, to me, it's not a big deal. The WORST thing that I don't like is the AC unit. You better not have a problem with your apartment being OVER 80 DEGREES during the hot days of the summer. I would have it on HIGH ALL DAY, ALL NIGHT and it felt like I was in a sauna. I actually had maintenance men come by and check it (because I just couldn't take it). They told me everything is working fine and there was nothing wrong. I was shocked. I would pretty much be sweating whenever I was in my apartment, even with the 5 fans I was using. The gym is an absolute JOKE. I exercise frequently and was excited to see the new gym. I went and it is sad. 1 stationary bike, 2 ellipticals, one exercise ball, and 1 piece of equipment that could offer many different exercises. Talk about the bare minimum. If I were them, I wouldn't even advertise that I have it. It is insufficient for all the people living there. I was an idiot for staying there for the extra year. I thought I was too busy at the time to move and deal with all that. But I only have myself to blame. Do not live there and you could avoid the mistake I made. Good luck.

I've lived in better places

I lived at Windsor South for 2 years and not by choice. Orginally it was because I just needed to find an inexpensive place to live, but the following year they raised my rent $20 dollars...which is ridiculous!! Also, the maintanence staff doesn't really understand how to fix things. Whenever I had a problem and told them about it they didn't do anything, so I ended up fixing it myself. Don't live on the lower level if you have pets, they will panic all the time. The leasing staff was always nice, but they also don't really move to fast when something breaks in your apt. Check everything out first before you sign a lease, that goes for any apartment complex.

Worst leasing experience ever. Everything in this review is FACT.

Please read this review. It will enlighten you as to why, unless you want to be treated like garbage and taken advantage of at every turn, you should NEVER EVER live here. My roommate and I moved in to a nice looking place with a nice (seeming) management team. Within a week there was graffiti on the Windsor South sign and the woman who was in charge of leasing was drinking beer at the pool with one of the maintenance men (which is 'supposedly' against the rules,) after we had asked her to come to the apartment to take note of some cleaning that needed to be done as we were displaced for three days because the management team was unable to secure our apartment for us on time. When we found her at the pool she LITERALLY tried hiding her face so that we wouldn't see her. Before we moved in we were told that there was a new gym that they were planning on building, that walls would be painted one coat of white paint upon moving out and that new carpets were put in free of charge after each lease was up (and you could tell because they do a horrible job not only painting but also with installing carpet.) When we finally got into our apartment the front closet door was missing and was NEVER replaced even after inquiries-- because once you are in, they know you have a lease signed and that no amount of asking for something that is rightfully yours can change that. The man who runs the apartment (not sure if I'm allowed to name specific names online,) was--what I like to call--a slum-lord. He took no pride in running his business and while we were there for a year-long lease there were THREE different women who came in to work in the office because there was always a defect with them whether that be stealing (as we heard from the second woman who came,) or some other low-brow, problematic characteristic. The maintenance man in our building would rev the engine to his cheap motorcycle round-the-clock with no thought to the people living in the buildings who had jobs and wanted to sleep past 6 a.m or before 11 p.m. The apartment that we moved in to was filthy and falling apart. The blinds broke within weeks of our moving in with nothing more than 'light' use, I assure you. The bathtub had a HUGE stain and a dent in the middle from the previous occupants who decided to break things and ruin property before they were evicted. We were also told that there was urine on the carpet by the first woman who worked in the office and that's why it took them so much longer to get the apartment ready for us because there was "so much" they had to do to get it ready for us. I describe what they did as "a small child gluing something back together after it's been broken". Seriously. Everything was done piss-poor and only for aesthetics, not for durability. They take absolutely no pride in their services. When we moved out they charged us for 9 hours of cleaning and new blinds. There is no way that we should have owed what they charged us and it was just another reminder as to the shady business they run and how they will nickel-and-dime you whenever possible. Oh, and if you ever want to get ahold of the building manager, make sure you have plenty of time to wait because as soon as you sign the lease he'll disappear for days on end for one reason or another and leave all of his dirty laundry (and trust me, it's disgusting just like everything else about this place,) to the poor women (and they've all been women,) who are stuck trying to deal with it while he's gone. Oh, and if you think that the office hours are actually enforced on a daily basis? Don't hold your breath. Sometimes it would take us DAYS to get ahold of anyone and in most cases we were stuck talking to uneducated people with broken english who had no idea what they were doing. Worst leasing experience of my life. I wouldn't wish living here upon my worst enemy. And everything that I've said is 100% true! DISGUSTING!!!! RUN AWAY!

Good Apartment

This is my first apartment after college. I have lived here for over a year, but unfortunately my company is transferring me out of state. I would like to find another place very similiar to Windsor South there. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is always warm, and I have had my maintainance requests responded to promptly. There is no assigned parking and I do have to park at another building or on the street approximately once a month, otherwise it is not an issue. I live on the outside apratments, away from the courtyard and do not have noise issues. I have heard that people with courtyard apartments have more outside noise. Windsor South is in a safe residential neighborhood and I feel comfortable going on walks in the late evening after dark. The rooms are large. I would recommend this place to anyone looking.

Ok place.

Windsor south is pretty good. But there are problems. First the painters are horrible. They paint everything. They don't tape around anything. They even have paint on the floors. They don't wipe it off when they are done. Second they just plow down the middle of the drive ways and plow everyone in. And don't come back for like 2 or 3 days after to plow the hole driveway so you have to try and get your car out every time you leave. Also on one end there is hardly any parking. People have to park on the street. If you call them they don't call you back. They let old broke down cars stay and waste space. If I had a choose I would not live here again.
