Since 2020.. I hate this place. They never answer the phone. They hardly clean up trash. Dog poop and animal feces everywhere. The ladies are nice but their communication and maintenance sucks. Can’t wait until I’m totally done with this place… don’t waste your money. You will be aggravated by the end. Trust me.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! As soon as my boyfriend and I moved here we could tell this was gonna be crappy. The water heater didn’t work, the thermostat was broken (in the middle of winter) and they put in a washer and dryer even though we have one already. They’re still trying to charge us $50 even though we took them out and put ours in as soon as we got here. Now, they have been sitting in my kitchen waiting for them to come pick it up. It’s been days and every time I call they don’t anything but stall. Not to mention a bunch of cosmetic issues with apartment. For the move of God go next door. They know how to treat their customers and they actually care about them unlike this place.

If I could give NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. Out of the million phone numbers you have- can someone pick up or call me back? Ive been calling nonstop since Saturday because no one has fixed my hot water since then. Ive placed numerous orders and Ive been told someone will fix it by end of day. We’re on day 4 and still no damn hot water. ***UPDATE: 7 days with no hot water. Mind you, having no hot water is considered an emergency in their books. Was told Thursday that a new water heater was installed. LIES. today Saturday went to the office because stillll no hot water. Management said water heater was ordered and would arrive Monday. Soooooo no water heater was installed?? So you lied??? When asked for corporate number- they refused. Thanks AUREA STATION AND WESTSHORE LAKE MANAGEMENT. My family has been showering at friends and family for the past 7 days bc you claim you only have 1 maintenance person working. That person stated everything is running slow bc you cant pay your vendors. ???? ???? Have been asking for doorknobs since I moved- hasnt been completeled. Asked for a new porch handle- hasnt been completed. Spent 1.5 months with no A/C- Can’t even get hot running water. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE TO THIS COMMUNITY. WEBSITE IS A LIE. THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA IS A LIE. THIS PROPERTY CHANGES MANAGEMENT LIKE A PERSON CHANGES THEIR UNDERWEAR. AS “CHEAP” AS THEIR PRICES MAY BE- DEFINITELY NOT WORTH A SINGLE PENNY. POOL HASNT OPENED SINCE 2018, GATE HAS BEEN DESTROYED SINCE 2019 AND GYM EQUIPMENT IS FOR LOOKS ONLY. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. PLEASE!

Terrible apartment complex, the pool hasn’t been open the past 2 years, there’s trash all over the place and they charge you for unnecessary things on your rent then when you address it they still will not give a refund.

I have lived at this property for 2 yrs an this yr I'm still disappointed with the way things are done an I see why ppl continue to move out ! Nothing is done organized. Two days in a row we have been waking up with no water because of a water leak in the complex now this is not fair to surprise nobody with a last min water shut off we pay way to much money to live in these apts for this type of treatment. At least for worn us an give us time to make other arrangements or get our self together ,some of us have to be to work second & third shift! I wish the ones who own this complex would either sell it to someone who is going to take care of this place or hire back the second team that was here things ran better when they were here Kim,Ricky, courtney we had organization around here things got done with courtesy ,no last min surprises, let you surprse them rent time an they will be all in ya email, notes on doors, for the amount that we pay this is UNACCEPTABLE PERIOD I DEFINITELY WONT BE RENEWING LEASE NEXT YEAR!

Moving here was one of the worst things I've ever done. I was first shown a new apartment model, mine was not at all similar. the sinks were all peeling, damaged. they promised to clean up ... so far, 9 months later, nothing. The bathroom tile does not exist. the outside of the apartment is not cared for. Lives full of trash, insects. In fact, you pay monthly for the dedetization, which is only done when you ask. The pool hasn't opened this summer, maybe next. things break in the apartment, you ask to fix it, he doesn't fix it and send an email saying that the order was made. I can't wait to move from this place!

Hi, good evening. This is Aurea station resident. Today I am writing this to you to file a complaint regarding trash. I am noticing since last 10 days there is no trash team picking up our trash bags. I am still paying for the trashes but here is no one picking my trashes. IT'S LOOK LIKE YOU GUYS ARE OUT OF SYSTEM. I am not paying you guys to leave the trashes outside of my home to stink. IF I AM PAYING FOR THE TRASHES THAT MEANS THERE SHOULD BE SOMEONE TO PICK THESE TRASH BAGS UP and clean it. It is making whole environment so dirty and stinky due to which it is making people sick and tired. I WANT THESE TRASHES PICKED UP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE OR ELSE OTHERWISE I AM GONNA SUE IT. If the regular trash team is not able to work or if they do not want to work then fired them and hired a new team with a young guys who have a strong spirit to work from heart and are able to work in a fast pace and quick environment. Or else refund all my money, its look like I am wasting my money on this. I WANT THIS AREA 100% CLEAN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE RIGHT AWAY AND RIGHT NOW.

This review may be a long winded review, but I feel as if you should get a full sense of what's going on at this apartment complex. I have been in multiple apartments in the complex, and spoken with several other residents in the complex, so it's many years of experience and many different units and people's experiences put together. Before we even talk about the physical parts of this complex, let's talk about the management. The management that has changed nearly every year, and even within that year, the staff within the office changes several times. This means there's no consistency to the answers you receive, the processes followed, etc. The best thing that was said was when they reduced the operating hours at night (hurting your changes of getting your package in a timely manner) because "the staff did not feel safe working when it was dark out". Umm, I am supposed to be safe living here, but you aren't safe working here? Yikes. Then, when it comes to getting your package, you'll be lucky if there's more than 1 person working in the office (and they're incapable of looking up from whom they are speaking with to say 'hey, what can I help you with?', just so they can run and grab your package from the manager's office), so expect to wait forever to get your package from them. OK - Let's start out with when you turn into the complex. You see some security gates. Over the past 3-4 years, I think the gates have worked a total of a week or two, tops. Every time they begin using the gates, they are broken within a day or two, and take months to get them repaired. The initial rollout of utilizing them had half the residents without working keys to get in, or phone numbers not entered into the system. Then, someone tends to either crash into them (because they fail to light up the gates adequately, or add some sort of reflective tape to them), or manually has to push them open because the mechanism is not working, and they're broken. Continuing down the road, swerve your way around the various pot holes that just don't seem like a concern to anyone to fix, and you see the community pool. The community pool that the gate is always left open (talk about a huge safety issue). The community pool that half the time they lock when they leave the office (remember how I said about the early leave time? Yeah, so it's locked well before the end of the day). The community pool that's been locked over holiday weekends because no one was working in the office to open it up, so either you can't go to the pool, or you have to jump over the fence. The pool does have a grill, but I wouldn't dare put my food on it. I don't think it's ever been cleaned… ever. And you always have a ton of unsupervised children running around. It's not an enjoyable place to be if you were hoping to relax at all, nor would it be somewhere you would be proud to bring your friends and family to come visit. Who knows if they keep up with pool maintenance. Right across from the pool you will see the trash compactor / dumpster area. I can't count the number of times that the compactor has broken, and you get to come home to mountains of trash bags lining the entire street - sometimes for days - until they either decide to get another dumpster on-site, or figure out how to fix whatever is wrong. Imagine the wonderful aroma you get during our hot summer months. There's also constantly trash flowing out of the little area next to the dumpster for "bulk trash". I can't even begin to imagine what kind of rodents and other animals call that home. Let's keep traveling around the complex, and you'll see the dog park. Sure, you have a fence around a plot of land, but that's about the only good thing to say about it. The inner gate to the dog park is broken, and has been broken for a couple of years now. No one seems to be concerned about fixing it, even though it's been mentioned several times. So hopefully your dog isn't one that likes to run out! There's a water spigot and hose over there, but they barely work. The water leaked for a year or so because they didn't bury the pipe deep enough and it froze / broke. So you either get treated to no water, super rusty/muddy water, or maybe a trickle of water if you are lucky. The ground itself is saturated in dog urine, and the mulch / dirt has never been removed or cleaned up. The amount of dog feces around is atrocious. Maintenance rarely goes in there to empty the bin of used waste bags, let alone to clean up the grounds. Whenever it rains, expect to have a muddy mess in there for several days due to improper drainage throughout the area. But hey, at least there are some lights you can turn on outside. Poop bags are a rare commodity to find filled in the poop stations, so expect to be stepping into pet waste often as you walk to your car. Maintenance won't bother cleaning any of that up. Slight side-note about maintenance - apparently taking care of the grounds around the community isn't in their job description. You'll see that same piece of trash sitting in the grass until the lawn care guys come next week and chop it up with the mower. If it's outside of the grassy area, and maybe near the bushes or in the parking lot? Forget it. Hope and pray for a large gust of wind to blow it away or something, otherwise it's there for life. Do you have an emergency repair situation? Oh well. No one really ever answers the phone in the office for a regular call, let alone a maintenance situation… but you can leave a voicemail and be lucky to get a call back the next day. Imagine how much water can leak into your apartment in 12 hours. Let's keep going down the road to where you have the "tennis courts", AKA a big fenced in flat of land with no net, and the ground chipping up. You see kids hanging out in there kicking a soccer ball around sometimes, but that's about it. You definitely won't ever see anything related to tennis going on in there. Travel to the back of the neighborhood, and what they don't tell you is that it's housing for a ton of halfway house residents that the complex gets a kickback for. That may be OK with you, but it's not OK with everyone, and it's not OK that they don't disclose this to the residents. You just happen to find out when you see a beater of a van driving back there multiple times a day, every day of the week. Over the years, there have been multiple gunshot related police calls to the complex, there have been vehicle break-ins, and attempted vehicle break-ins. Yet, there is zero regular security on the complex. No one driving around to check on things. No one keeping you safe. Rumor has it there's a "safety officer" or an "off duty officer" living in the complex, but it's not like you have any method to contact them, and even if you could, supposedly they can't do a thing anyways. The complex is surrounded by fencing, so you think that would help add some layer of security - but it doesn't. Why? Because there's multiple breaks in the fence that no one seems concerned about fixing. It has been witnessed that people from neighboring complexes will park there cars here, and walk through the woods to their apartment -- I'm sure it's for totally legitimate reasons. Also, due to multiple street lights not being fully operational, it seems to be a great neighborhood for you to park your car in the shadows to conduct completely legitimate business deals at night. Talking about the buildings themselves, there is a ton of rotting wood throughout the complex. Be careful, multiple stairs and walkways have seen broken slats and it seems to be little concern to management to fix them. They did go through and replace some of the boards, but after the first few weeks, progress slowed down, work got sloppy, and half of the boards marked for replacement (instead of just replacing everything) were skipped over. The complex does not want to take ownership for any problems caused by this, including personal injury. When it comes to Air Conditioning, which is a necessity for our hot humid summers in NC, consider yourself lucky if you don't have to call maintenance out a few times every summer. More times than not, you have a non-working unit, or a barely working unit. They never replace the filters inside the apartment on a regular basis, so expect the units to have been overworked by the time you moved in. Given that routine maintenance is not performed on the units, they probably won't be performing well as it is. Your AC will probably be running 20 hours a day. Hot water? Right. You have enough hot water for about a 10 minute shower, and then you'll have to wait a few hours for it to heat up again. The floors are terribly thin, you can hear everyone walking around. Hope and pray that they don't have a pet or child above you, because that will be all you hear. It does seem, however, that the walls to the sides aren't too bad. The exterior doors, however, are a problem. The front door probably doesn't seal well at all, so expect drafts year round. To open the sliding glass door, you need to get your workout in. The building has sagged so much over the years, and the tracks are so old and dirty that it just barely slides open. On the plus side, most of the plumbing has been replaced with PEX a few years back. However, the way they handled these renovations - right at christmas time - was a terrible decision. They also decided to replace the singles on the roofs throughout the complex. There seems to be plenty of parking. They even did a reserved parking program at one point in case you really didn't want to walk far. Overall, the community may be like any other apartment complex that's out there that's a budget apartment complex. Don't expect anything nice like you are seeing a few miles down the road in either direction. If the management company expects the complex to be relevant in a few years, they need to step up their game in repairs and how they treat their tenants. Approach with caution, and take everything that is told to you by them with a grain of salt. It's their job to sell you on an apartment so they can make their commission. Car salesmen aren't the only shady salespeople out there.

New management is the worst. I've never dealt with a property manager more unqualified then the current manager. I used to love living here but since the new management team it has gone down hill. I even put my notice to vacate 6 months in advance. I can't wait to get out of this community and deal with a real professional property manager.

The ladies in the front office are very rude and unprofessional. Quotes listed are incorrect . Residents do not discard trash properly. Apartments have a horrible smell on the inside . Went to view a rental and the inside was filthy .

If you need help with something ask for Kimberly. She pays attention to detail AND follows through. Overall, they are really trying to improve the complex, some of those improvements can be inconvenient but so is remodeling a home. Cut them a little slack, for the most part you get more than your monies worth.

My fiance has been living here for 4 years. I have been living here for one and we just renewed our lease. About a year or so ago the management had changed, great change!! They renovated the apartments all new appliances and Bluetooth light in the kitchen. My only complaint about this is I prefer carpet and it's hardwood. That's only a minor detail though not a big deal. Outside also changed with beautiful landscaping and flowers. They also redid the plumbing in all the units which was very needed! The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the manager Julie Long! The maintenance responds to your issues within 24 to 48 hours normally it's 24hrs though. They have valet trash pickup. It's a wonderful place to live. We are very happy!

I moved into this apartment complex last year. Let me say, that the apartments are comfortable and have all been updated. The folks throughout the community are very kind. The staff are on top of everything. They keep You appraised of all current events and renovations etc by written notices and email. I was personally touched by Staff member, Laura Freeman. Laura has went above and beyond on providing excellent customer and residential services. She's a true professional and has always taken the time to follow up with important details on a consistent basis. She's hardworking and will always listens and takes the time to thoroughly explain things. Management needs to personally recognize Laura for all the hard work that she does. I'm sure that others would certainly agree. Thank You Aurea Station and Laura for providing excellent customer service to your residents. I'm a 100% satisfied resident and would recommend Aurea Station to Family, Friends and co-workers.

I moved into a beautiful apartment at Aurea Station back in October 2016 and I absolutely love it so far. The process, from beginning to end, was seamless and fast. My leasing agent was Laura who is absolutely FANTASTIC. She's pleasant, informative, and quick at returning calls. The management company takes great care of the property and it shows. So far, I've had some minor maintenance things and they were quick at fixing them all. Management really cares about their resident's also. I can't remember ever being this impressed with an apartment complex. I will most likely stay here until I'm ready to buy a home. I recommend Aurea 100%. You won't regret it.

I have always enjoyed living at Aurea Station. I have lived here for several years and the ladies at the front office become more like family. The previous CM ----------------- helped me more than I would like to say on here, but it saddens me that Cortland did not see her efforts and let her go after working so hard through the entire renovation. I recently transferred to a renovated apartment and if I knew that was going to happen to ------ I would of never agreed to transfer to an apartment and pay over $100 more. If Cortland is going to do that to their very own, I'm scared to see what's going to happen to the property for the duration of my LAST year here. So disappointed in this company and now will never recommend this company to any of my friends or family. You lost a good employee and going to be losing a good tenet.

I would not recommend anyone live here, in fact I'm warning you stay away this place is the worst. The apartments are cheaply renovated. Things break constantly and maintanance does not come in a timely matter I often have to call a few times before I see a face. Management lies, the original apartment I wanted had issues so they placed me in the back where there are a group of recovering alcoholics and drug addicts the apartment has a contract with that wanders around all day making noise and littering. There is no designated playground so kids play in the parking lot often hitting cars with soccer balls. The pool always looks cloudy from the amount of people that go to it. They installed a gate in the entrance that doesn't work, they gave us gate keys and everything but never activated the gate. This is a place where you get less of what you pay for. If that's what your looking for then this place is for you... If not then don't come

I usually dont write reviews, but i felt i had to. I cant even begin to describe the experience i had. I must have toured here 10 different times, the office staff was always so welcoming and nice every time. So i found the apartment i was looking for (WOW amazing). Been here 6 months now and i had some maintenance issues (normal things) called the office and spoke with Lauren Catwright and she went over and beyond to help me. So professional and easy to talk to. The maintenance team came out and was simply amazing and nice! Lauren than followed up to make sure everything was OK. I can honestly say the reason i rented here is for the awesome staff and especially knowing Lauren Catwright is the manager she is a huge asset and i cant thank you enough!

The office staff is never in the office. The gates don't work. The dog park floods all the time. Maintenance takes forever to complete requests. There is a half way house in the complex, roughly 6 units is dedicated to this "program". The dumpster area always has trash outside of the dumpster. Only good thing is the valet trash.
