One of the worst
Rudest, least helpful staff I've ever dealt with. They genuinely do not care. Maintenance is absolutely horrible. You can hear gunshots occasionally, I've had property stolen, this place is ------. Had hidden fees charges 3 months after moving in. I cannot wait to get out of this hell hole. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE...

Horrible Experience! Very Rude management staff ! Do not live here!
When we moved in, we thought this would be a good place to live because of the area. Immediately, we had terrible experiences with the management office not returning calls and not following up on issues we had (still I have proof of my complaints to the managemnet office they never tired to fix it).Management employees are extremely rude and feels that the management is always right. Living here was a complete nightmare and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I never seen this type of worrest apartment since last 11 years of my experience living in apartment throughout nation. If you give compalint about any probelm the staff was telling you can adjust whatever you have fecility without fixing the problems.I gave more than 20 compliants so far since march 2011, they didn't fix the half of the problems. It is not livable condition apartments.some times very difficult to sleep in the night time because of top floor disturbance we gave complaint about this particular problem, office staff they never try to fix this problem. And also you can see lot of pets like street cats more than 6 roming out side in front of the apartment doors and corridors always without any care taker like street pets, I have pictures of these cats for proof, if any body want I can send those pictures.I gave written complaint by email, by person and also by phone to the management office more than 10 times about this problem they never tired to fix the problem. At the same time they will try to put the penalties and making money without your faults. If don't pay penalty they don't accept the monthly rent and scared the tenants name of legal actions. I normally don't write reviews, but I feel so strongly about this complex that I felt it was necessary. Please think twice about renting here. You can find a better complex!

Worst apartments ever!
whenever we give a maintenence order these guys say ITS NOT AN EMERGENCY because we have another bathroom and don't come to fix it for 10 days. There is always dog poop in the grass all over the place and when we gave a complaint that there was dog poop below our balcony and it attracted a lot of flies and all those flies then come onto our balcony, they said that isn't a big deal and the maintenence guys will TAKE CARE OF IT IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. Plus, there is no safety as our cars get dinged and scratched a lot. The kids here are very rowdy and scratched cuss words on to our car. One time our car along with ten others' cars had their tires cut.

Nice place
The community is fairly quiet and well kept. The office staff is always helpful, they have events throughout the month for residents (face painting during Halloween, gift wrapping during Christmas and breakfast on rent day). Maintainence comes the same day a work order is placed. They have a gym, pool, and business center on site but I've never use them. The laundry facility is kinda small for such a big complex (6 washers and 8 dryers) but the apartments have washer/dryer hook ups.

The WORST
Aspen Peaks is the WORST apatment complex I have ever lived in. Since the day I moved in there have been so many problems. Ranging from not having the keys to the apartmnet on move in day, billing incorrectly for rent, charging late fees when rent is paid on time, having vehicle towed after I get home late at night from buisness trip for registration that was going to be taken care of today. I DO NOT Recomend this property to anyone

Quiet nice community...The best since 2006!
The management is wonderful and take care of concerns I have and are always there to answer any questions I have. I live in the back of the complex which is normally the worst place in other communities, but mine is quite the opposite. It is quiet, clean and definatley a good deal on rent. I have lived in other apartments but this one is the best deal. I have noticed though that almost all apartments in Charlotte charge for water/sewage/trash which was not the case when I lived in Monroe. Other than the little bit extra of bills I really can't complain. This has been the best place I have lived in so far since I moved down to NC in 2006. I am always suggesting people make this their first stop when they are looking for apartments and have had 2 friends move in since October 2009.

Ok to live :?
I have lived here since September 2008, and the place is neat. There is a lake right behind my balcony and its nice and you can hear the ducks quacking early in the morninq (they wake me up!).The air conditioning has been a problem and my parents keep qetting mad but the staff is nice to help us all the time. But I think that this complex attracts bad luck sometimes;I got scared back in April 2009 whileI was riding the bus when one of the two-story apartments caught on horrible and terrible fire and left four families poor, then this car fell down this short hill in front of my apartment and then in the morning while waiting for the bus, these two cars hit each other that it hurt my ears badly. Other than that...everything is nice and clean and I found it kind of weird but cool that there aren't any roaches or bugs crawling its way up here like @ Wildwood apartments...anyways this is a really nice place to live.

It's really nice here
I've lived here for 4 months now. I like it here. It's mostly quiet with the exception of our rowdy teenage neighbor (when the parent isn't at home). The grounds are very well kept and so are the stairways. If they aren't, then its how a nasty tenant lives & trust & believe I will call the office to complain. I refuse to live next to filth. I've had a few major maintenance problems to which they were handled promptly. I've heard others say thats because its under new management?? I would recommend this property to the young 25-30. I'm only moving because I bought a house. Hope this helps! Oh yeah, I've been going to the laundrymat which I absolutely hate because they are remodling.

this place is hell
i lived here for 4 months and i wish i had never even bothered...i opted for the renovated apartment...they were trying to renovate when i was moving in..cabinets were on backwards or falling off, doorknobs were on wrong,my cheap --- counter top was chipped up,2 days after moving in in august my air went out and it took them 3 days to fix it...it was over 90 in here,my heat barely works, light switches are falling off,the dishwasher and sink leak, the outside lights dont work, maintenance sucks and he is a pervert, our neighbor got broken into...the young girls in the office would have slept with my husband if i allowed it,the pool was never open when i moved in,they dont care about anything going on here, they will allow anything off the street to move in these apartments....i bought a house because they wanted $899 a month for this piece of ---- they call home

I like it here
I have live here now for 2 years and have never had any problems at all. I am renewing my lease again in May. I think it's all about how you treat the people in the community. I have lived in multiple communities and you will have things any where you go, but they will work with you if you are having any problems at all.

Stay far away
I lived here for a year and my apartment was broken into 3 times! Plus the previous tenant in this exact apartment moved within the complex because it was broken into also. The office manager actually thought I would want to just move into another apartment within the complex! Yeah right! If you check the cmpd.org web site for crimes in this area, you ll be amazed that there were 17 residential burglaries in the last 3 months alone. The office staff is rude, the neighbors are sketchy, maintenance never fixes anything on time and the complex next to it (the reserve) has more crime than this one. The first time my apartment got broken into, it took the cops 4 hours to show up because they were doing a drug bust in this complex!! Don t live here!!! They may look nice from the outside but keep on driving!

This is what nightmares are made of
This place is a joke. Maintenance issues of all types are completely ignored. They give you NO notice when they're going to turn off your water, or paint lines for parking. The employees in the front office are RUDE and unhelpful almost strait up insulting. Lets talk about how my water bill is $127 a month for 3 people, or how they raised my rent when others around me did not have that happen. OR about their pathetic "renovations" which consist of vinyl siding and a coat of clay colored paint that took 3 months on my building because they had to tear it all off and start over 3 times because they hired idiots to do the work. Ive seen 50 story skyscrapers go up quicker. My car was broken into, ive heard gunshots, house fires, parties that go on til all hours of the night, drug busts at 3 AM!!!! AND today they decided to move the front office and tell NO ONE about it so that when I went down to ask about a maintenance issue they were gone and the phone had been disconnected. God forbid something truly bad went down, no one in that office seems to care about any tenants. Do yourself a favor and go live somewhere else, this place is a hell hole.

Run
In the short time I have been here. I have experienced faulty wiring, vandalism of personal property, trashy neighbors and harassment. The so called "newly renovated" consists of slapping a coat of paint on the cabinets & counters (yes they painted the counters with some strange gritty paint) and sticking some new faucets on sinks and tubs that are proably original. Recently management authorized towing of vehicles to repaint the lines on the parking lot with 10 hours notice. The charge to the owner of the vehicle is over $140. This is an awful community full of miserable people. The management is a joke and I can't wait to move out!

How much will you pay to live in Ghettoland?
This community was formely Winterwood now is Aspen Peak. The new administration of this place has gone completly nuts. They are trying to charge rent as if you were living on a 4 Star resort. The community is not really worth it. There have been many car-breakings in the past few months. People jump the fence to past from this comunnity to the "Reserve Apt". Nehiboors let unleashed dogs to walk free in the parking lot and they do not clean after their pets. Futhermore, the rent does not include water $6.00 for billing on water. I really will think it twice before moving to this community. Note: They sweer that since they changed the management the community is a better place to live. The management does not in the community.

So nothing has changed since the 4 years I moved away after 1 1/2 months of living in hell. I call it Winterhell. They changed the name from Winterwood to Aspen Peaks to make it sound like a resort (the last resort). Horrible horrible place to live. Outside it looks pretty, but that is when nobody is about. Dangerous and Scary.

never lived in a more horrible place!!!
I would strongly advise no one to live at these apartments. Nothing in my apartment worked properly. When you call for maintenance it takes up to a week to receive a call back. Mostly an apartment manager should be someone who you can work with. Everytime I had to deal with anyone in the office, it was an extreme hassle. The manager is a very nice person, but you can't ever get someone to give her a message. The assistant manager is extremely rude, and has absolutely no people skills. Overall this was a horrible living experience!!

Horrible Management
I am currently living here and have plans to end my lease agreement around the first of the year. Have been at the complex for more than 3 years and have seen so much change. Constant turnover in management, loitering, noisy, things always breaking down, security issues, you name it, it has happened. They make so many mistakes when it comes to collecting your rent money. I have had them mistakenly code my rent payment to another residents on three separate occassions. I was staying here because of their rent to own program with Beazer Homes, but it simply is not work it.

WARNING
Horrible. All problems you can think of:
Noise(!), Loitering, NO SAFETY/SECURITY (my fiance's car was stolen, a pizza driver was shot AND returned fire, and another woman murdered her son), MANAGEMENT IS UTTERLY HORRIBLE (they do not care about residents nor act on complaints), apartment was not clean at time of move-in, appliances constantly breaking/poor condition, etc.
Maintenance is timely which is the only 'postitive'. If you live here, as I unfortunately did, plan on making friends with local law enforcement because you will be seeing them often.

going downhill
Like all apts. in Charlotte, seems to be going downhill. The surrouding area(South Blvd.) is getting bad. There is a group of young teenagers roaming around. My decision to move came when one of them was swinging around a knife in the parking lot. The maintenance is ok, except for changing your furnace filters. And you ALWAYS have to be under a lease - if you try to go month to month, they raise the rent at least $150, citing market rates.

Security Deposit waived scam
This is a scam they advertise a no security deposit special. This is a scam. When you move in they brag about having brand new carpet in the unit. Upon the end of the lease they change the carpet in all units I have been told they have a contract with a carpet installer so they use this tactic to charge you an extra monthes rent for carpet at the end of lease weither carpet is damaged are not . I noticed when I lived there that every unit they where replacing the carpet . This to me is a scam because you indeed pay one months rent (security deposit)at the end of the lease which is not in there contract. Also they wanted me to renew lease rent with rent increasing from $859.00 to $901.00 mo. Also near the end of lease they decided they were´nt going to pay for water anymore which according to lease was included. If anyone was charged for the replacement of carpet and feel they was no need to replace and was charged rideculous rates for the carpet please let me know at freefree_1@yahoo.com

Not sure of the loyalty reward
The community car wash was a primary motivator in my decision to move in, as well as the other community facilities. The car was was removed and we were given some song and dance about drainage. Then suddenly the formerly "included" water was now metered and charged to the apartment. Signing my SECOND year lease with that increase in monthly cost, they added insult to injury by raising my base rent $12, then offering apartments with my floor plan to move-ins at a rate LESS than I was paying.

For the most part, the maintenance staff is adequate albeit SLOW. The office staff is helpful and will on occasion extend the extra mile such as dropping off something in your apartment when you can´t get by to pick it up. The community is more or less quiet, although in the summer the pool area is teeming with foul mouthed teenagers who are unsupervised. Pet owners are asked to clean up after their pets but this is NOT enforced in any manner, nor are the pet size and breed directives enforced.

The overhanging shrubbery lining the entrance roadway has needed trimming back for 2 years to avoid scratching of vehicles, but has never been done.

not too bad, but you´ll get more elsewhere
This place isn´t too bad, but you will get more for your money somewhere else. There is a noise problem as the neighbors with car stereos like to have car parties on occasion. I never hear the neighbors within the buildings though. Recently there has been more police dept. sightings in the complex, not too sure what that is all about.

Overall not a bad place, but not the best place either.
