This has been my favorite apartment complex that I've lived in. However, there are some issues, such as the doggy poop centers are not emptied nearly often enough, and for some reason parking has been an issue, although my boyfriend and I only have one car.

The community, albeit old, is really lovely. The neighbors appear to be predominantly working professionals. The North Hills location is superb with loads of entertainment and easy access to downtown, Cary and Morrisville. I absolutely love it!

I have had an overall good experience at the community. The staff is always prompt and friendly when responding to maintenance needs and other questions. I would recommend an extra lock on the door and laundry units in all apartments. Also.

The unit is extremely dark. It feels like 9 pm during all hours of the day. Must buy a very strong lamp for each room. Otherwise very nice neighbors, safe and clean grounds and amenities, responsive and polite staff, ample parking, and everything works.

We recently moved in. The apartment is great except a few issues. We can hear the person above us move, even slightly. The space is clean and open. The patio is nice and the rooms are cozy. Overall, the apartment is great so far compared to what we looked at beforehand.

Good place thus far. Just moved in a couple of weeks ago but the place seems clean, up to date, quiet, and it's in a nice neighborhood. I just moved from out of state and this place is a good price for what you get. I like that they are pet friendly and the maintenance guys are nice.

Decent apartment for the price. Newer tenants tend to be noisy, especially the younger crowd (mainly late night), but the inside noise-level is minimal. There are only two maintenance guys, from what I hear, so repairs to anything will be lengthy. Not my first choice for a recommendation.

Nice place to call home. I moved in a few months ago with my son and have had no really big issues so far. Convenient location, good schools, feel safe. Nice staff.

I moved to Sommerset Place about three months ago and absolutely love it. I moved from Carrboro,NC and didn't know anything about Raleigh. The office staff Aniko and Noel are awesome and have recommended different restaurants, shops and a great laundry center near by. The location is perfect because it's located minutes away from two major highways and about five minutes for North Hills shopping center (my new favorite place). Since I moved in, routine maintenance that has taken place- quarterly pest control and a chimney sweeping. I really like that the management company (Pegasus Residential) takes care of the property and schedules preventative maintenance to keep up their apartments. This is my fourth apartment in the last 3 years and it's been my favorite. I live in a one bedroom apartment and its perfect for me and my dogs. It's so cozy, has a wood burning fire place, HUGE balcony, a FULLY equipped kitchen (microwave, dishwasher, ice maker, garbage disposal, etc) and a walk in closet. The only thing I wish it included was a washer and dryer. They have hook ups, but not any available to rent. They do have a laundry facility next to the office that is clean and affordable. When I toured I saw a model apartment and was pleasantly surprised when I moved into my apartment. It was very clean, had new carpet and I could tell it had been freshly painted. The apartment had been updated within the last few years and I love the look of it. Overall I love living at Sommerset Place. My apartment is perfect and homey, I love the neighborhood and the management/office staff are amazing. They really go out of their way for their residents and you can tell that they really care about the community as a whole. I definitely recommend living here.

I have lived here previously around 2008-2009 loved the community. Since I have been residing here since 2015 I have not enjoyed my stay here as much. Too many changes with the property manager and things not properly handled. It's not the same doesn't feel like home. The windows need to be updated, upgraded, rplaced especially with the rent reaching $850-900 for a one bedroom. Not a happy resident

Sommerset is very affordable for the location. It is an older property but is well taken care of and the interiors have been updated. It's exterior appearence could use some updating but I feel it's what is inside the unit that matters more. When I moved in, I was very pleased. I was given new carpet and I could tell they had given me a fresh coat of paint and all of the cabinets, appliances and fixtures are newer (can't be more than a few years old). The interior of my apartment does not look outdated in any way. I also have a working fireplace which I love and that is something you don't really see in apartments any more! This property is also just a 5 minute car ride from the North Hills Shopping center which is a great place to shop and eat. The management has always been very good to me. They answer my calls and emails in a timely fashion and are always very nice. Any maitenance I need is always done with in about 48-72 hours (other properties I've lived in have taken weeks). The propertie's new manager, Noel, has been amazing. She is wonderful about calling me back and answers my emails with in minutes. Noel came on board in January of 2015, I think and has been awesome! Prior to her, Jane was great too! One other thing I love about this location is that The Raleigh Police District Office is literally across the street. Not that we have crime here but if we did, I am sure response time would be extremely prompt.

This is the review i've left online: WARNING: If you think you are getting a good deal here, call Progress energy and ask what the average electric bill is for this place. This has been absolutely the worst experience I?ve ever had with an apartment complex. The first day I moved in they messed up my paperwork and were ready to move me into a one bedroom apartment even though I signed a lease for a two bedroom. The next thing I find out is that my average sized washer/dryer wouldn?t fit in the laundry area so maintenance had to remove the doors?so now my washer/dryer is exposed which looks ridiculous. A few weeks later when I order my new couch, I find out that you cannot move a normal sized couch into the two bedroom apartments because it doesn?t fit. A lady in the front office recommended that I use their moving company contact to actually levy the couch up through my balcony window?which of course was an astronomical fee to do so. The only size couch that will fit is a love seat, so if you think you want to move a full sized couch in this place ? think again. The

I just moved in and already do not like it. The area is fine, but I don't like how this apartment do things. I don't like how they double bill you for things and get customers confused. I was double charged for utilities and the office staff won't do anything about it. I don't like that. Thats a red flag to me. They can double charge me for anything and I would never know because they don't care. I approach the office staff about and all I heard was crickets?..I can not wait until my lease to be up. I wish I would have never moved to this apartment. I will not recommend this place to know one.

I have found the staff at the office very accommodating, even though the personel has changed several times. They have addressed issues such as mail box keys and door locks, as well as providing a good extermination service. The grounds always look good and I am very pleased to be here.

Experience is great, but parking spaces are limited near my apartment once I come in from work at night. I would like there to be more community gatherings.. Also the sliding doors in the apartment are kind of old. I like the six forks area. Here

This unit is humid during the summer, and cold during the winter. The building is old, and needs to have all windows replaced. The walls are very thin and you can hear neighbors washing machines clearly, as well as music, talking, and doors closing. If i could get out of my lease I would as Im not happy here at all. I would not reccomend this property at all.

I resided at Sommerset Place for 2 years prior to just moving back in to the complex last month. I should have never left here at all but I am very pleased that the staff welcomed me back and now I am here to stay for good! I recommend to any friends looking for an affordable home.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! Today I had to call the police over an incident of a violent nature. The complex smells like pot tons of ------ people live here! My first week I had broken appliances! It was finally fix! People deal hard drugs in the community. Stay away the higher rent or having to wait for a better place is worth it! Your safety is WORTH NOT moving here! Signed: Leaving ASAP!

I am a current resident and I am counting the days until my lease ends. Yes there have been two sets of management in the 10 months that I have lived here. From the very start the apartment was ----ed up! I moved in started cleaning and discovered dead and living bugs and catnip behind my stove and refrigerator. I reported to Erica Tension sorry --- and she was slow to respond. Ms Tension set a damn Mexican women that typically cleans up after move outs to reclean my kitchen area with inferior cleaning products and a smeary, dingy --- rag. Really Dummy! I had go dicker with Ms. Tension on a discount on my rent..---- I just moved in that day. I didn't even get to see the apartment until my move..only the pretty model. Bugs remained an ongoing issue. You can't just spray one apartment and not the building idiots!! Maintenance is sorry as hell. They will lie and say they completed an issue and its still ----ed up. My air went out..a emergency maintenance issue by there definition. I was advised to open my patio door and windows until they can come by on Monday???? Are you serious..I am a single female who lives alone and overnight to stay cool you want me to keep a door and windows open!!! Now that is no regards for my health and safety. $825 Rent ..raggedy tennis court..they don't keep the pH level balanced in the pool (read city citatations) and I will be posting pictures of the filth I move into had to clean and monthly bomb my apartment to keep pest away. But let's not forget about the noisy neighbors upstairs that love to grill on their patio. To I hear lease violations... Anything done after reporting incidents Three times..hell no!! You will not have any peaceable enjoyment living here. I pay my rent on time and only selected this place because it was across the street from the police department and I moved here not knowing anyone...I am strongly recommending that you select an apartment that will offer you better amenities. I pay $10 for trash..but there is damn valet trash. I walk my dog to the dumpster daily. The water bill has been as cheap as $13 and as high as $47...Archaic HVAC and water system. High rent with sorry --- service

I have lived at sommerset place for over 6 years, during that time the management companies have changed 3 times, constant problems developed with over charges, maintenance issues, i lived in two apts the whole period and was subjected to being flooded out twice, bedroom insulation and windows had cold air coming in increasing the electric bill, hot water heater bursting, water main bursting in my apt. The new management company Pegasus was a bad choice cutting down trees and increasing the rents. That is why all my neighbors are leaving also because of this management company. With all my problems they never adjusted my rent and still living with the window in the bedroom needing replaced after telling them over a year ago. I would not recommend this complex what they want to get for the rent is not worth the aggravation.

The property itself is nice enough but the management (Pegasus Residential) are less than adequate. I've had two maintenance requests in the 10 months or so since they took over and both were handled in a very poor fashion. I simply deal with the minor issues and will not submit repair requests unless it is a major issue. Were this property still managed by Riverstone I would recommend it wholeheartedly. As it is I would avoid it as there are better options in North Raleigh for the same money.
