You pay premium for your rent because of the proximity to the train station: the good thing is that it is walking distance to NJ Transit trains, the bad thing is that you can hear every train approaching the station and blowing the horn that can be heard for miles around: from early morning to the midnight, NJ Transit local trains and Amtrak trains. And with poor terrible service of NJ Transit to NYC, paying extra for this convenience does not make sense. As for other services Hamilton Crossings provide with, maintenance is decent, but visiting the clubhouse is painful and unpleasant. Very volatile schedule with open hours changing all the time. The managers of the property come and go, with one worse than another: coming up with more and more stupid rules for you to stay there. It is not the place to relax as clubhouse is supposed to be, for the tenants - it is a toy for property manager to exercise her dictatorship desires.

My husband and I have been living here for more than 2 months in this complex. Throughout the whole course from touring the complex to lease application and signing, Brittany had done a wonderful job in helping make the process seamless. We truly appreciate her attentive attitude and sunshine-like warm receptions toward all our questions and concerns. It has been a pleasant experience living here and we're really grateful toward Brittany in our decision of moving to this place.

I have worked in retail sales for a total of 35 years.Twenty years with Mercedes Benz, the previous years with Porsche, Audi, BMW and have been very successful by paying attention to the smallest of details and having a genuine concern for my clients needs and desires. In a world filled with complacency and mediocrity it was absolutely a pleasure to work with Brittany. She was very precise, kind and had a genuine concern for my needs. I'm very certain that Brittany will excel in her career by consistently improving her approach and skill set. Thank you very much Brittany I love the apartment you helped me secure.

My husband and I moved into our luxurious apartment 2 weeks ago, after several delays due to the sale of our home. Brittany was fantastic. She was so responsive and willing to show us the apartment repeatedly. Our move in date was pushed back a couple of times without incident. She answered every question we had about the process and her enthusiasm is contagious. She clearly loves this community and her role in helping people find their perfect homes. During our walkthrough on move in day, we did find a couple of minor problems. The maintenance team came out the next day and not only fixed every one, but fixed them right the first time! We love our life here!

Prior to moving out we gave this place 4 stars, now are giving 1 and we would give it zero if that were an option. The aesthetics, proximity to the train station, and anything else they might have going for them are completely negated by the fact that they are run by greedy, corporate, scammers. We should have realized something was up in January. We mailed in our rent check as usual and because of the holidays, the mail got delayed. They charged us and many other residents and $75 late fee while acknowledging that the checks were only late because of holiday-related mail delays. What kind of dirt bags don't waive something like that? I'll tell you all about those dirt bags. We moved out not long ago and when I tell you we left them an immaculate, move in ready apartment...I really mean it. We expected to get our FULL deposit of over $3200 back and much to our surprise we got an estimate of $2000 in damages that they wanted to withhold our deposit for. It was for ridiculous mess such as: 1.) Oh there is tiny dot on the carpet over here in the dining room, I guess we'll have to rip up the carpet in the entire apartment and replace it at your expense...but no worries we'll charge you the pro-rated price of $1000 for it. (You guys I'm not even kidding...I'm not remotely in the mood for jokes right about now...this is honest to God information.) 2.) Our walls which we never so much as put a nail in were pristine. But we were hit with oh look there's a finger print and since we can't be bothered to magic erase it off while doing the usual touch ups in between tenants, we'll just charge you $600 to repaint the whole house. 3.) We were told that we would be charged $5 for a light bulb. Now let me tell you why this is interesting. First off the light fixture in question is more than 10 feet off the ground and only accessible by one seriously tall person standing on a chair or a ladder AND it is covered by a globe AND IT WAS STILL WORKING with no obvious dark spots that would indicate a blown bulb. But if we had had any reason to believe anything was wrong with the light and called the main office they'd have sent maintenance down to change the bulb, no fuss, no muss. Now that we're moving out...it's a withhold security deposit level crisis. I call BULL SH**. 4.) Our toilet seats were discolored. NOT STAINED please do not confuse this with there being dark spots or something gross. Discolored, like if you take out your microscope and get down on the cellular level...then some spots are lighter than others. You know...normal wear and tear on things that don't look brand spanking new forever. At least that's our theory...theirs is that we owe them $200 worth of new toilet seats. 5.) We cannot forget the relining of the cabinets at our expense. So you know if cabinets are lined with papery stuff anything from life to the humidity in the air can cause them to crinkle or change colors a little bit...but let The Crossings tell it we personally damaged their cabinet linings and that will cost us $150 to repair. 6.) Also they'll need $180 to clean the apartment for us since we clearly didn't clean it ourselves. So...I have pictures and will upload them. The picture of the light fixture is the one with the "missing bulb". Etc...Etc... If you don't love your hard earned money, live locally and have the time to commit to the litigation, and are just dying to have to sue somebody well then make your new home at The Crossings at Hamilton Station! Although I uploaded pictures I am not able to see them all. So if you are seriously considering staying here I BEG YOU to respond to my review and let me email or text you the photographs first. They really are worth 1000 words.

We just recently moved to this community and so far so good. Here are the things that make this a great community: 1) Brittany helped a lot in making this move painless and quick. She explained things thoroughly and she is very energetic and lively to talk to. 2) Neil has been very quick in fixing things. 3) Being right off the train station and off of I-295. It is also near the shopping centers. 4) The unit is almost brand new so everything is pretty clean. 5) I feel safe with the locked door on the first floor before making it to my door. The other apartments that we have seen in the area are open so people can go straight to your door. 6) The community is very well lit up at night. 7) Although we have not been to the gym since we are just settling in, the gym looks like it is being used a lot by the residents. 8) Landscaping is decent. Sorry, we are from the Carolinas so our communities are landscaped beautifully. But compared to other communities that we have seen here in NJ, the landscaping here is really good. 9) Concierge service is great. Since we just moved and we had to order a few things, they have been taking care of receiving our packages which is really a plus since my husband and I are both working during the day. The only disappointment I must say is the video that I saw offered more in terms of businesses or shops in the community. The community is right next to this old building which has offices. Maybe in the future. But I must say that we are pleased with this community. In fact, I have invited my friend who retired recently to visit the community to check it out.

We have lived at the Crossings for a few months now and we love it. The amenities are wonderful and convenient. The gym is open 24 hours, which is great for people who work and want to go early in the morning or late at night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Any maintenance requests are answered promptly and accurately. Brittany helped us through the rental process and has been our point person for any issues. We are so pleased with our experiences here so far!

I have lived at the Crossings for two years now. I have really enjoyed my time here. It is perfectly located and close to many places I go. The pool is great and the clubhouse is nice as well. I have always had a pleasant experience with all of the staff I have encountered. I am even considering buying a town house so i can stay in the development

I have recently moved into The Crossings at Hamilton Station apartments and thus far have had a very positive overall experience. Specifically, my interactions with the leasing office have been far superior to those of competing properties in the area. In particular, Brittany's careful assistance and professional consideration of my interest's while searching for my new apartment were exemplary and were a critical factor in me choosing The Crossings. Everything from accommodating short notice appointments, to assisting me with paper work and details of my move in, Brittany did everything to help make my move from across the country as seamless as possible. Given the new construction the apartments are in great condition and I don't anticipate any significant problems moving forward. Even more, my previous experience with the front office leaves me confident that any such problems would be resolved in a timely and professional manner. Also, noise from the station or any construction has not been a problem.

We had already picked out another apartment complex nearby, but we weren't 100% happy with it, so we decided to do one last look around before signing papers. Boy, are we glad we did!!! Although the other place had similar amenities, it was just a group of building, where The Crossings is a home. We were able to view the specific unit we are renting, and the staff was happy to spend time with us to answer all our questions and help us get a feel for what living here would be like. Now that we are all moved in, they are still friendly and helpful every time we speak with them. There is some noise from the continuing construction on the new units, and grounds maintenance, but the levels are reasonable and at respectable week-day hours. We are so happy to be here in our new home. <3

I'm really happy with the building maintenance... location is right behind the train station... neat and clean area with maintained landscaping and garden outside each apartment building. Everything is very organized and through email... no need of any manual request ... The entire leasing process was very simple and supported by leasing specialist. Excellent club house and well explained by leasing specialist. Usman

I have lived here for approximately 2 years know and we are very happy that we made the move to the Crossings. The units are very nice and well appointed. The neighborhood is great and the other residents are very friendly. Whenever we have had a maintence issue, Chris and his maintenance are right on top of it. Most of the time they will responding within hours of you maintenance request. They always perform a good job and have a great attitude. One of the best recent additions to the staff is Brittany Martinez. Over the years here I can't really say that the office staff was on top of residents issues. When Brittany arrived, the level of service and responsiveness has definitely changed. She has made sure that any services issues I've had are immediately addressed and she always follows up with a email to make sure the residents issues are being addressed. She also has the best attitude hand down of any staff we have encountered. The current staff has really stepped up the degree of service they provide to the residents.

We have lived at the Crossings for two years this May and when we went down to renew our lease we found Brittany in the office. She is great! Very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Any issues or problems you have she takes care of them that day or will give you a date when it will be addressed. We have had management in the past that have not been as good at communication with residents. There are better hours for the clubhouse now and you can always find someone in the office with knowledge about the community wether it's the front desk staff or Brittany herself. Thank you Brittany for making the renewal process easy for us! Would like to see a playground in the near future.

RENTERS BEWARE! We lived at the Crossings for two years. Both my husband and I work in Manhattan, so the main selling point for us was the proximity to the NJ Transit line. When we moved in, we were the first inhabitants of one of the newly finished apartment buildings on Dakota Drive. They played up their new clubhouse, the new appliances in unit, etc. - all of which were very nice. They did NOT inform us, however, that we would be living on a live construction site for the duration of our time there. Again, we were up early for work thank God, but if you work locally or from home forget it - you'll hear nothing but trucks and hammering all day long. As it is, we oftentimes were woken up by early morning conversations between contractors. They also installed an enclosed trash area while we lived there....the compactor overflowed several times, broke a few times, and trash pickup is at some ungodly hour (let's just say while it's still dark out). We didn't have any issues while living there with our unit. No appliances broke, and other than (as other reviewers have stated) the inconvenience of their clubhouse hours being 9-5 we were mostly satisfied. (The clubhouse hours are awful though... if you don't work close enough to pick up your mail during your lunch hour, you're stuck waiting until the weekend.) Here's where The Crossings lost us as a referral forever....we moved out this past June after 2 years. We were good tenants, always paid our rent on time and didn't even fight them when they raised our rent after our first year despite the construction going on around us (still astounds me that they had the guts to justify a rent increase). When we moved, I did a lot of research to ensure we received our security deposit back. We worked with ----, the complex manager, and ----------, the maintenance manager, to confirm that we had addressed all issues they could find with the unit. We had painted a few walls, and ----- told us the paint type and color to get to paint them back.....we even rented a carpet cleaner because I read that the carpet was an area that they were especially strict about. We left the unit spotless - my in-laws even came to help for the day because I was 6 months pregnant at the time. Cut to 6 weeks later - we received our security deposit, minus over $500 for "painting" and "cleaning" fees. I reached out to ----, who put me in touch with someone at Edgewood Properties corporate (that email address the manager replying to these reviews keeps throwing out there....they were useless and didn't help at all). Next thing I know, a paralegal informs me that they've taken video of the unit to prove these fees were necessary and could I travel back to NJ to view it? At that point, 8 months pregnant, I could not travel across multiple states to review it - so they mailed it to me. I am here to tell you I've watched the video several times, and there was nothing beyond normal wear and tear found on it. But our choice is to either take them to small claims court over it, or give up. So, The Crossings, I hope you're happy that you screwed a growing family out of $500. We will not only never recommend you to our many friends from NYC who are looking for the easy commute and suburban lifestyle combo you boast to provide, we will now actively trash your reputation.....because you deserve it. Beware - do not move here unless you're prepared to be treated terribly when you leave.

My job took me to the area for 3 months and the location of The Crossings at the train station was very appealing. Nina and the leasing office was incredibly helpful and easy to work with. I have moved north and south in many different apartment complexes, and this was one of if not the easiest process. The units are nice and simple. Parking is never an issue. I have really enjoyed my time here. They have a gym, it is adequate for a quick workout but for a frequent gym goer, look elsewhere. I would highly recommend The Crossings at Hamilton Station.

We changed our jobs and were moving from North Jersey and had really liked the community on the account of being new. At the lease sign up we were given very good treatment by the staff who were helpful in helping us move in. Fast forward 10 months and when the time for renewal came, the attitude of the staff changed drastically. The so called management ----------- was outright rude and not at all accommodating. Our queries were met with responses like " I have over 150 residents under us, why should we accommodate you. If you are not interested please look somewhere else" I have no idea who talks like that to the customers. That 5 minute conversation was enough for us to decide against renewing the lease. I know it wont matter to them that they loose 1 customer, but I for one will not stay at a place where we are not appreciated. I have no issues with management refusing certain requests but there is a way to treat your existing customers. So to hell with them. Other issues that we faced mainly were your mail packages and club hours. They boast of having a swimming and game room. But the hours are between 9:30 and 5:00 pm on the weekdays. So basically your work hours. So for people working the only time to avail these are during the weekends. Also you can only pick up your big packages during these club hours. They say they can drop it off outside your door, but if someone takes your packages while you are away? We are still waiting to see what amount of security deposit they are going to deduct as we have heard horror stories from our neighbors and also from reviews on this site that they deduct almost all of your security deposits with petty things. So I guess, all I am saying is think twice before moving here. I am sure there are better communities out there that treat their customers well!

Just renewed my lease at The Crossings at Hamilton Station. The experience here has been excellent. The staff is very responsive and professional. Brittany has been outstanding with follow-up and follow through whenever there are questions. The proximity to the train is great for commuting or going to NYC just to hang out. This is a great community and a great place to live.

The best thing about this community is its proximity to the train station. Of course, that means you can also hear trains at all hours of the day and night. The noise isn't as bad as being on a flight path to an airport, but you do have to get used to train whistles at midnight. Again, that's the best thing. Most of the staff is pleasant but I miss the old staff that was here when I moved in. They seemed to genuinely care that the residents were happy. One by one, they were strongly encouraged by the company to leave. The apartments are designed well, but the construction is cheap. I hear my neighbors on all sides, and my apartment vibrates when a neighbor closes a door hard. Every time my upstairs neighbor flushes a toilet, it sounds like a tidal wave is about to engulf my apartment. A plus -- the maintenance staff is responsive if something is broken. A minus -- there is no housekeeping for the hallways and elevators. No community that calls itself "luxury" or charges this kind of rent should be this dirty. Perhaps the property managers don't clean because it is such a pain here to take out the trash. A trash compactor and a too-small bin for recyclables are at one end of the development. By the end of the weekend, the area around the bins is disgusting, as the recycling bin is overflowing, and people are too lazy to put trash in the compactor. Some residents store bags of trash on their balconies until they decide to take the walk to the bins. The owners are still building, but already sometimes all the parking spots in front of my building are already full. When everything is built, there won't be enough parking.

I came for a tour on a very busy Saturday. At first I went to the sales center where I met Allen. He pointed me in the right direction to the leasing center. I was always curious about The Crossings as I take the train into NYC everyday and see people walking over. I travel about 15 minutes to the train station everyday, and I always thought how convenient it would be to live within walking distance to my train. Nina was very excited to show me around the clubhouse, and made me feel welcome and at ease. My appointment was for 10 a.m. but I came 15 minutes early so I enjoyed a complimentary breakfast. I was amazed that this was a regular occurrence for the residents! Everyone was so friendly. I wound up renting an apartment because of the convenience, great price, community and genuine customer service I received. The fact that Nina knew every resident by name was very impressive and sealed the deal for me. Knowing that I will be treated with the same courtesy is comforting. I am moving in for June and I can't wait!

We have been very pleased with the service we have been shown and we love the townhouse we are leasing. Our leasing representative Nina could not have been more helpful and the construction staff have been extremely responsive to any of the issues we have encountered as the first residents of a newly constructed building. The concierges AJ and Anthony have also been extremely helpful and kind and very pleasant. We love the house and the location is perfect for us as one of us is commuting to Philadelphia and one is commuting north to central NJ. This seems to be the case with many of the new neighbors we have met here, who by the way couldn't be nicer. We moved in in mid March and look forward to the weather improving and being able to utilize the pool and clubhouse more. With the one snow storm we encountered soon after moving in we were very pleased with how quickly the streets, sidewalks and driveways were cleared.

This place was nothing short of a nightmare from beginning to end. One year...ONE YEAR...of spider infestation, loud construction, dust everywhere, employees entering unit unnanounced and more. I developed severe sinus infections from the construction dust getting into our unit through the vents. Whenever the tenant upstairs flushed, there would be this loud BANG BANG WHOOSH!! in our bedroom walls that kept me up. Forget about ever sleeping in on a weekend. Construction starts at 6 am. Twice I had workers enter my unit...both times while i was undressed in my room. The last time was a mexican floor waxer who just felt this need to open my front door and pop his head inside. Appliances always breaking. Once we got a drain clog from faulty building plumbing backing up into our sink. This little jerk of a maintanence man pulled the pipe out, walked it across my living room to the sofa I sat on and shoved it, literally, into my face saying, 'here SEE....' at the teaspoons worth of tea leaf grounds that had settled in it. I was so appaled and disgusted I flipped on him. Once we were cleaning out our refridgerator and organizing the cabinets and had placed a full trash bag on the patio until I was ready to take it to the dumpster. Ten minutes in, I have one agent at my door, literally in my face threatening eviction for it. We then got a notice the next day from their lawyer saying if it happens again we would be out. It was a bag of old linens i had just placed there ten minutes before. Mind you, when we moved in, the construction crew threw a bag of empty takeout containers, cigarette cartons and drink cups on our patio. The place is sloppily constructed. A huge glob of dried cement onthe patio. Concrete drippings lining the tub. The doors to each unit are horrific. They are these heavy, industrial doors with hotel room like handles that you cannot even gently close. They SLAM shut loudly behind you. And all day and night your unit shakes at other tenants doors slamming the same. The fitness center is a joke. The pool is a joke. The whole place is a disaster and an overpriced one at that. Also make sure you take your contract to a lawyer to read and explain before you sign it. They have loopholes throughout the entire thing to ensure they keep your deposit one way or another. We were great tenants. Paid early every month. Raised no havoc. The unit left spotless. They told us we must pay for breaking the lease. Why? They give you no less than 60 days to inform them you are moving out. Now if you have roommates, that decide to leave. If you are relocated from work. You are screwed. They do not care. The staff are low IQ and rude. Then they threaten to report you to collections and destroy your credit if you dont pay up. Low and behold, stay away from here. It was one headache and issue after another. Anyway, the outlook for this place is poor. The hood is right down the road and soon enough, will overrun this disaster area. You get a nice tub in your unit, but you'll never use it. The hot water likes to never work. Daily showers are kind of a hit or miss thing. The water is treated with some weird chemical that turns toilets sinks and showers pink. Oh and another perk? It is located right next to a police shooting range. You will hear what sounds like ISIS has taken over with rifles from 10am-10pm. every.single.day. And don't forget the scenery...the stylish look of a run down factory and a train station whose train dings rings toots and screams by all day and night. And the sprinklers placed by lamebrained landscapers right under your window provide a nice bedside shower as they come in your windows should you wish to have some fresh air in on a warm spring day. Honestly though, look elsewhere, this place is just...ugh. So bad.
