The building is beautiful, the neighbors are quiet and friendly and the move in process was simple and quick. Each staff member has welcomed us and been available to us without any glitches. We couldn't be happier with our decision to move into such a wonderful area in such a magnificent home!

I have been a resident of Peach Alley Court for 17 months and have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My apartment was clean, fresh and ready for my arrival from Florida, and there was nothing for me to do but put my things away and start living. The historic architecture with high, beamed ceilings and large windows make for a pleasant, nostalgic atmosphere. The other residents have always been quiet, respectful and friendly. Any maintenance issues have all been minor in nature, and have been addressed promptly. The management is cordial and responsive. The grounds are attractively landscaped and well maintained. The fitness center is clean and sufficiently equipped for both cardio and weight-resistant workouts. Parking is more than adequate. In short, my experience has been positive and enjoyable, and I would not hesitate to recommend Peach Alley Court.

This is the first place that my boyfriend and I lived in as a couple. We needed something that was central for both of our jobs and family. We have found that Peach Alley to be very welcoming and comfortable for us. We have lived here for 6months and have not had a problem. Any maintenance issues have been handled promptly and professionally, the cleanliness of the outside and hallways are nice to come home to, and I appreciate the pest control. The building is always busy, people coming and going but it is very quiet inside. We are very happy here.

It is a sturdy building with a historical feel and not the kind of apartment complex which can be thrown up in five days as such apartments are nowadays. The large windows and high ceilings make the rooms feel light and spacious. The staff are unfailingly courteous and understanding of our problems.

So far not the greatest. I've had better living experiences in low-income housing. Maintenace is very slow to address issues. Promise times for completion of repairs are not kept. Property is run down if you look closely. Check to make sure everything works before signing a lease.

I am a former tenant at Peach Alley Court. I really enjoyed my stay there as I was waiting for my house to be built. The staff is extremely pleasant and will go out of their way help. The historic building has a lot of character and is a very trendy place to live. It is close to work, so I can walk. I really enjoyed Peach Alley and would recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment.

If you like old buildings, and high ceilings, you might like this place. Well, that is if you don't mind very leaky old windows, cheap fixtures, noisy building, bland white walls, and being nickel-and-dimed on move out, and rent that goes up every year... We even dealt with a leak in our ceiling which was fixed the next day, but a 3' sq hole was left in ceiling for ten months.

This place used to be great prior to the new management company. We moved here because we were impressed by the upkeep of the building, maintenance's quick responsiveness to just about any issue, the vintage feel, the huge windows, and the ladies in the office were both attentive and sweet. It felt like home with only one downside: those windows meant huge electric bills in the winter. But it was one con and we made it work! Bring on the new management. The new people in office were just awful. Rude, uncaring, only there to make a buck hiding behind obviously fake smiles. Maintenance became less responsive. The building went downhill fast. It was time to move on for us. This is where it really gets bad. We cleaned up the apartment, had our move out inspection and was told everything looked great. They just needed to replace the carpet, but we would be getting half of our deposit money back. Fast forward to months (and I mean months) later when it hits me that we never received the money we were told we'd be getting back. I mentioned this to another landlord (who is also a friend) in passing and she informed me that they were well over the required time limit and that by law, we should be getting the full deposit back due to their untimeliness (I found this all in writing, too). I contacted Peach Alley and informed them of the situation. The same guy who did the inspection with us in the apartment told me he'd research it and get back to us. Well, he sure did take his time... several weeks and multiple unanswered calls later, he lets us know (by email) that we were not getting any money back because the apartment required a lot of repairs. News to us since we had a copy of the inspection stating that just about everything but the carpet was fine and the amount we were supposed to get back! He couldn't produce any documents to support that information and we were never informed of this change in the required timeframe because they "forgot". But that didn't matter anyway. Really? We called him to discuss this and he became very defensive and childish. He even decided to mention that the new tenants have complained to him that we did not take care of the apartment and that the carpet was a mess. First of all, we did. It wasn't perfect when we moved in but it most certainly did not get any worse. Second of all, what happened to our deposit money then? If that is what the new tenant is complaining about, clearly they did not use that money to make any repairs or even replace the carpet anyway! Disgusting. To make a very long story short, no... we never did get any of that money back. It was a very disappointing experience. I'm glad we didn't stick around longer based on the other reviews. Just be warned. New management: very shady people.

Avoid this place if at all possible. I've lived here since December 2011 and I'm counting down the days until I can leave. The good: -the maintenance is usually taken care of fairly quick -the online payment and maintenance requests are convenient (although what place doesn't have these nowadays) The bad: -since the new ownership has taken over the building upkeep has gone down significantly. There's been vomit on the window in the stairwell that hasn't been cleaned in several months, the lobby is usually dirty and smells from all of the dogs that come through plus the lingering smoke from right outside the front door, the hallway windows are dirty and have screens with large holes in them (perfect for letting in bugs) -the walls and floors are paper-thin. If you make the mistake of moving here, hope that you don't have someone with a pet living above you or beside you - it's bad enough hearing people trample around above you or hearing the neighbors TV clearly through the walls, but listening to dogs howl/whine/bark is the worst. I've brought this up several times with management and they don't seem to do anything about it. -I feel bad for some of the dogs people are allowed to keep in these relatively small (~650 sq ft) 1 bedroom apartments. I've seen Rottweilers, several pit bulls, even a great dane (although I haven't seen the great dane recently). I'm shocked that the management allows people to have these animals in such small apartments. -If you live here, forget about trying to get out of your lease even a month early. I plan to leave a month before my lease is up (counting down the days) and gave the management more than 3 months notice about this in hopes of ending my lease a month early, but they wouldn't budge. It's really about the money here (as shown by the poor upkeep, allowing just about anyone to rent with any size animal, and not working with tenants, even if they've always been on time with payments about ending a lease 1 month early). The ugly (yes, it gets worse): -I mentioned earlier that the screens in the hallway windows are broken or have large holes in them. One morning, I was leaving the apartment building a saw a bat sitting inside the apartment hallway near the window. I immediately tried calling the maintenance line to report it, but since it was a weekend, I had to call the after-hours line and was told this didn't classify as an "emergency maintenance request" and that nothing would be done about it. So for the rest of the weekend me and the rest of the residents in my wing had to deal with a wild (possibly rabid) animal living in the hallway outside our doors. I was planning on leaving before this, but this really was the last straw. I know this is quite a long post, but I really hope I can save some of you from living here. Don't let yourself get caught up in the high ceilings and windows when you come for a tour - this place is a nightmare that I'll be happy to get out of.

I moved into Peach Alley in June 2012 and have had a great experience so far. I was looking in the area surrounding Hershey (where I work) and had a few criteria. I was looking for an affordable, safe, high quality apartment with a decent commute. All these criteria have been more than met. I love the high ceilings and large windows, the historical architecture gives the building a lot of character. My neighbors have all been relatively quiet and those that I have met have all been very friendly and polite. I haven't had any maintenance problems in my apartment but when the lights in my hallway burnt out I notified the property manager (dawn, who is fantastic!) and it was taken care of promptly. Parking is in the lot right next to the building and there isn't an additional fee which was great. Elizabethtown isn't much if you're looking for nightlife but it is a safe place with some restaurants and shops in close proximity. All in all I have really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this place with no reservations. I'd be happy to answer any questions about Peach Alley as well.

                            Happy To Be Gone

I cant believe this place has any positive reviews. After the new management took over in the last year and a half, this place has gone downhill really quick. My fiance and I chose this place because of the cool atmosphere, the huge ceiling, just the awesome historic feel of the building. We also liked that the previous ownership was very picky with who they allowed as tenants. Now, the place is filled with domestic disturbances, dogs that are bigger than 25 lbs or more (we were told initially that we couldnt have our 40 lb dog). Yet there are people with huskies and rottweilers. Okay. And dont even get me started on the smell of smoke. they put a cigarette butt can right by the front entrance. I have severe asthma, so when i come home in the evenings, i get to walk right through a huge cloud of smelly secondhand smoke. Not to mention, i am pretty sure the people down the hall smoke like chimneys and it lingers into our apartment. My allergist is really liking all the money i am bringing in to her. Oh and those people with dogs? yeah, they let the dog crap all over the grass, and its never picked up. id really like to thank someone's over 25 lbs dog for ruining my new heels. We are SO thankful to be out of this place. It is definitely not worth the price $815 for a 650 sq foot apartment? We are paying $200 more a month for a two bedroom, two bathroom place that is 1300 sq ft with a pool and garage in a very nice community. Now, I will say a few nice things about the place. The one manager is pretty friendly. And the one maintenance guy is a good guy who gets things done pretty darn fast. Other than that, i can see this place going downhill really quick. Im pretty sure i have seen shady drug deals go on across the street, and anymore, i just dont feel safe with some of the folks they are letting in to this place.

My apartment still has some of the original wood beams. We have new owners and the new office staff is much more responsive and friendly. I just renewed my lease and I'm glad I stayed.

Expensive but better than the rest

Building was old shoe factory converted to apartments in, I think, 1980's. Appliances are close to new, if not new. My fridge made noise at first, freezer whining but was fixed promptly. Maint staff has good attitude, very helpful, eager to please. Neighbors seem not that outgoing, but respectful of each other. No loud parties thus far. No reason to complain about noise from either next door neighbor or couple above me. Did notice that someone down the hall had TV on loud once. When I investigated by standing outside of room, it seemed like invisible TV sitting in front of me blaring away, as if no wall separated me from it, though there was. Sound not muffled in the least by wall. Yes, noise could be a problem if residents were usually noisy, but they are not. The walls seem only slightly thinner here than at other apartments I've lived in. All apartment buildings are noisy. If you want it super-quiet, buy a house...in the country...then kill all the noisy frogs and bugs...and birds...and you better hope your neighbors don't tie their noisy dogs to a post in the back yard at night near your bedroom window... Ceilings are high, windows are huge, microwave oven is really big. Garbage disposal, small washer-dryer, good dishwasher, 30gal water heater, all good. Room looks very nice. Was very clean when I moved in. Darcy and Pat are helpful and responsive, kind of like the hotel concierge. I kid you not. One of the coolest things are the carts. They have these two-level carts, like mini-gurnees (sp?) that allow residents to move groceries or other things, usually requiring 3 trips to the car, all in one trip. Parking is off-street, clean, and plentiful. Always room to park at all hours. Neighborhood is safe, even at night though next to downtown. Elizabethtown is rather sleepy but quaint. There is a post office, 2 banks, 3 churches, bike shop, two pizza joints, public library with free WIFI, tag and notary agency, dentist, insurance agent or two, SUBWAY sandwich shop, law office, coffee shop, restaurant, furniture store, and other shops all within a two block walk. Most of these are only one block away or less. Elizabethtown College is located several blocks away. There is also a chocolate factory across the street and down a block emitting sweet aromas. Garbage room seems kept up. Boxes, bottles, cans, newspapers must be sorted. The rest goes down a chute. All utilities paid by renter, except water and trash removal. That means you control your own heat (electric). Bill never AVERAGES more than $80 per month. I looked at several places before choosing this one. The Harrisburg area is a very poor place, in my humble opinion, for getting an apartment. The landlords all seem bred to con prospective tenants into moving in. And I say this being a former Chicago resident. I was surprised at the crappy attitude and poor quality of almost all of the places I called or visited. This one was the lone exception. I am happy here and going into my 6th month. If they don't raise my rent too much at the end of my first year I'll be happy to stay. If they do, I'll request a transfer from my employer to another state.

At first, when I went to look at the apartment, I was excited to begin renting. Of course, later on, before moving in, I am having doubts. One thing that keeps running through my mind is how they may handle noise complaints. I don't want to get into trouble just because they have thin walls, or have other people hating me in case I make a loud noise (I work 3rd shift so I'm awake at night). It seems that I could have gotten a lot more for the price, which is incredibly expensive. For two hundred dollars more, I could be living in a brand new, well-structured apartment complex, but instead I chose this. What really upsets me is that they say rent goes up each year, which is entirely unfair for 756 sq. ft. I don't know what I was thinking, maybe it just has some charm to it?

We wish we could take them with us. <br> <br>Sure, this place is spacious with huge windows, but our love of this place quickly faded. No matter what anyone says, NOISE IS A BIG DEAL. The wood beams and thin walls cause every step and vibration to echo. It was never a problem to us, but GRUMPY neighbors complained about us running our vaccuum or dishwasher, and just normal walking around. <br> <br>Even though Darcy and Pat were nice, they jerked us around a lot, and we never liked their passive aggressiveness. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. <br> <br>Our recommendation is to look 20 minutes away in Lancaster. There are beautiful townhouses (2 bedrooms, garage, etc) there for the same or smaller prices.

                                        Terrible apartment complex

I am very displeased with Peach Alley Court. I recieve terrible service for the money I pay. I have been harrassed by the management on several occasions and blamed for noise violations that had nothing to do with me. The other tenants are very nasty individuals and i was threatened because i ran my dishwasher after 10 pm. The apartment complex is very old and you can hear through the wood floors and poorly insulated walls. The apartments are overpriced considering they are in poor condition. Trash service is slow and often garbage room is overflowing with trash. Grounds are not well kept. Overall, i´m not sure why anyone would continue to live here. I am leaving because i am sick of being harrased by older people simply because of my age. Save yourself the time and money and live somewhere else.

                                          Best apartment I ever had.....

This was by FAR the best apartment I´ve ever rented. If you enjoy living space, cathedral ceilings, rustic exposed post-and-beam timbers, and HUGE windows you´ll love this place. Spent two years there, and I hate to give it up. Noise was rarely ever a problem due to the huge post-and-beams, and they don´t rent to undergrads.....i.e. no nasty ´after-party´ surprises anywhere in the building. Plenty of parking & security cameras, though it would have been better if they had covered parking. Security camera and intercom at front door.

                                            A beautiful place to live....

I stayed at Peach Alley Court for the summer of 2002. It was so hard to leave. The maintenance was remarkable. If there was a problem,(which rarely occured) the problem would be quickly resolved with a smile. Twice I left my keys locked in my apartment and both times it took me two minutes to get someone to let me in. I can not stress how hard it was for me to leave this lovely home. It was a dream come true. I can not say enough nice things about Darcy and the rest of the staff, I can only hope they realize the impression they have left on my fiance and myself. I will never forget where I started my life, at Peach Alley Court.

Noise levels in this apartment are a very serious problem compounded by the fact that studio apartments are rented to families with small children or more than one college student. Normal levels of conversation can easily be heard in adjacent apartments. Complaints about excessive noise seem to ignored by the staff. When I looked at the apartment, I was assured that noise would not be a problem. Rain noise is a serious problem because the window sills are covered by a metal flashing that amplifies the noise.
