I’ve lived here for seven years. I’ve been pleased with maintenance and office staff. So far zero issues with crime. I feel relatively safe here. Very close to downtown Charleston and the airport. Great place to live.

The environment is peaceful , clean, and friendly. The events are a lot of fun. The amenities are good, however would like more gym equipment. The living space is nice but the kitchen cabinets are small.

Community is nice, management can be somewhat unnecessarily strict, I wish the pest control was better and the seals on windows and doors, always a lot of extra moisture throughout the apartment and the air flow could better, it feels stagnant

Great community. We have awesome neighbors. No issues with noise. Very pet friendly and a great walkable neighborhood. Pool is amazing and the events are great. Staff are always nice and super quick to help with any issues. Couldn’t ask for more.

Element Carolina Bay was my favorite home

I loved living at Element Carolina Bay! It was a beautiful community that I miss terribly. I may be a bit biased, but I know the team did all they could to make Element a great place to call home. I loved the sense of community Element fostered as well. 10/10 would recommend!

Great community

Living in Carolina bay is great. The apartment has lots of events and food trucks, but so does Carolina bay in general. Always something to do or see. Quiet area with lots of people walking and biking. It has a strong since of community and I always feel welcome. Amenities are great too!

Very helpful staff upon move in, all of which have moved on now. Need better communication regarding things scheduled to happen at each building, such as the bleach spraying. Need to know which day & approximate time they will be here so residents can plan accordingly. Nobody wants bleach on them. Lack of parking is something to be looked at right away. Too may cars not enough parking. Does anyone ever check that all the cars here belong here? Garages are nice but never available & from what I've seen aren't even used for residents cars! Hence the parking problem. Might be time for stair upgrade, they are old, worn & very creaky.

Bill really cares about the property. I know we can reach out to him for any help and he will fix it ASAP and also keep us up to date with any issues or things happening in the area. I love the area. I wish the price was a little lower but unfortunately that’s just the market at the time. But it’s worth it for the location and people working.

I have always felt that the property is party of Carolina Bay and that it is one big neighborhood, not an apartment complex that is apart from its surroundings. The property is beautiful and I've always loved my apartment. I have always felt very safe in our community.

The community is very quiet and beautiful. There are trees, lakes, and trails all throughout the complex. They have a great gym open 24hrs along with a beautiful pool. They have several grills that are cleaned often.

I enjoy living at the Element. I love that it’s tucked away in the middle of the Carolina Bay neighborhood. I do think rent is overpriced in comparison to other and newer complexes in the area that charge similar prices, but with more updated units.

Beautiful, quiet neighborhood. The complex is always trying to get the residents together with group activities. We even have food trucks a couple times a month that are delicious. I love the area and highly recommend it to folks.

Must read if considering moving into the Elements.

Please read if you are thinking about moving into The Elements at Carolina bay. I lived at the Elements for a couple of years and moved out to a better area. The whole development including management is worst of the worst. Im posting anonymously in respect for the residents who still live in the development until there lease ends who know me. A couple years ago the elements was a great place to live. Management was great, friendly and active with the community and maintenance was always there when needed. Residents including myself loved living there as if it was its own world itself within. Fast forward to today and its beyond horrible. Myself and current residents who are waiting for there lease to end tell people who are curious about living at the elements to avoid the development like the plague and the reality of being a resident there. For example: If you need maintenance for anything, you have to submit a work order online. Once you submit your work order, youll be waiting for a week or two for maintenance to evaluate whatever needs to be fixed or replaced. Depending on your work order, maintenance will fix or replace your issue it if it’s a simple fix. If you have something thats more than just a simple fix, youll be waiting another week or two again for contractor to fix or replace it cause the elements contracts out to numerous companies to come resolve any maintenance issues and not maintenance themselves. Lastly and the biggest issue is property management. The Elements have gone through two property managers this past year. They were either let go or quit. The current property manager (third property manager within a year) is unbearable. The manager runs the development like a dictatorship. He carries himself in an unprofessional manner and has uncontrollable emotions towards residents. He will penalize anyone and make you have the emotional weight of being on his radar on your shoulders. No one should ever feel like that in their own home. If youre still on his radar, he will go to the fullest extent of eviction. The property company of the elements (Greystar management) has a 1 star rating on the Better Business Bureau. Overall, please save yourself the misery and and emotional torment by never, ever living at the Elements at Caroline bay.

Living her for almost 7 years I have seen the changes and updates that the community leaders have made and they’re able to keep up with the needs of the buildings. The events offered are also a nice addition to the social life of the community.

Pick someplace else. The management here is not qualified to do their jobs as is demonstrated by how they handled the broken dumpster situation, leaving the garbage for the whole complex sitting in a temporary dumpster for a week at a time rather than having hauled away each day.

It started out great but it has gone downhill as the price has gone up. The complex always says that they base their price off what similar places list their prices in the community, but whenever I point out that we are significantly higher, they say something along the lines of "we have nice faucets" and that's just stupid to me.

The recycle area is not well-maintained. There is a family on the second floor that insists on parking children's bicycles and a stroller in the first floor breezeway, despite repeated requests and warnings that it's a fire code violation. The landscaping outside the parking lot entrance needs some serious attention. The area has been in this condition for over a year, despite requests to correct the condition. The man who lives above me in Unit 927 has a very heavy tread that will sometimes shake the walls. It would be helpful to remedy the situation.

The first several years were great, unfortunately the last year has been disappointing and discouraging. When Lauren was the manager I felt things were run like a tight ship yet caring about the residents. There have been issues yet still unresolved such as USAA renters insurance not wording things as the company wants regardless that I have provided written information stating all living in my residence are covered I still have issues on my acct stating I do not have renter’s insurance. I have been with USAA for over 30 years and have zero intention of changing. That is simply one issue I am mentioning. I have never had issues like the ones we have dealt with over the past year in the entire time I have lived here.
