Their coffee machine is infested with ants. Don't get anything with sugar from it. The siding on the buildings is infested with palmetto bugs . You can see them crawling in and out at night. The common area at the building has been cleaned one time in the last 8 months. I waited over a month just to get light bulbs and the tracks replaced in the dining room living room and kitchen. The maintenance response time is poor. Office staff do not answer their phones even when they are in the office with no tenants. Their online payment system does not work correctly. Only 1 grill has racks that can be used for the entire complex. We have been waiting at least 3 months for management to replace the other racks. It took 6 months for the office to replace the printer that was not working. Parking is horrible. If you are not home by 5 at night you will not get a spot anywhere near your building.

I can say that living at Element at Carolina Bay has no been the best experience. The apartments are nice and strategically located but the office staff and maintenance is unhelpful and frankly does not care. At the start I was given apartment which was dirty. Not once was my trash picked up even though I was being forced to pay $26/ month for valet trash pickup For days no one would empty out the community dumpsters. Additionally this area is under construction and is too noisy and there is a fire station being built in the neighbor hood where construction staff arrives at 6 am. Maintenance requests were never really done. The staff would visit the apartment but not really fix anything. In the end, they tried to force me to pay them rent for extra 15 days even though I had vacated the apartment. While I was still having discussions on resolving the situation they put it on my credit so I could not rent an apartment anywhere else. Thankfully, future landlords did not care and I was able to get a place. Do not rent at this place. It is not worth the trouble. If I could give 0 rating I would do so....

A few weeks ago a lovely women by the name of Nina went above and beyond in making sure all my needs were satisfied! I was greeted while getting coffee with a smile and a very polite offer if she could get my coffee for me while I continue to talk on the phone. She noticed my coffee mug, (which is used quite frequently), unfortunately had some coffee residue and I was having trouble cleaning it out. Nina then politely offered to clean it herself and took the coffee mug to the employee kitchen and cleaned it out for me. I was so obliged and surprised that an employee would take it upon herself to go out of her way and help me in that time of need and even go a step further and clean something that was not hers. I thanked her politely and we continued to make small talk until I left for work. Every employee at Carolina Bay has always greeted me with a smile on their face and a genuine concern if I needed anything, to simply ask. I highly recommend anyone who is on the fence on renting in Carolina Bay, to highly consider living here because the staff is friendly and will even clean out your coffee mug for you if you need it. I moved into the Element at Carolina Bay Apartments in July 2016. I enjoy living here. The staff is very friendly and ready to assist as needed. The apartments are spacious and have many upgrades, the pool and fitness center are a plus. During the days leading up to and after storm Matthew, the staff communicated updates, clean up debris and individually inspected the apartments, for damage. As we were out of town, this information assisted with what could have been a stressful time.

Never have I ever... Had a bad experience. The staff is super understanding and courteous. Nina is the best! She is caring and understands what it means to be and deal with human beings, its not all business with her. The apartments are nice and well maintained and the pool area can't be beat. Highly recommended!

These are NOT "luxury apartments" by any stretch of the imaginations. Fixtures and appliances are cheap. walls are thin so neighbors conversations can be heard, the entire grounds often smell like dog poop, there is practically no shaded parking. The management for the most part are unhelpful and in some cases downright rude. Recommend you look elsewhere.

I wish to commend Greystar Management for recruiting and retaining the Team at the Element at Carolina Bay (ECB) Apartment Complex. The Team are the epitome of customer service employees. I am employed In a local Public Works Department where customer and service is paramount in the interface we have with the public. I am knowledgeable and can appreciate first-hand the diligence with which the above Team manages the operations of the ECB Apartments in providing true customer service, not only to prospective renters, but also to the existing residents of the Complex.

I have lived here for a year, but I'm moving across country and have to leave. I joke with the staff here that I want to take the whole apartment complex with all of them in it with me. It's that great! Nice new apartments are very easy to keep clean. The leasing, maintenance, and management staff are so friendly and helpful. It has just the perfect balance of privacy and community feel. You will love it!

My sons and I have stayed at Element a few times in the past. We have family in SC and heard that Element has a guest suite that costs less than a hotel (price reflected in "price per month", but that's really per night). I enjoy staying at the guest suite because it is clean and comfortable, includes a washer and dryer, and is taken care of better than a hotel suite and is more like home for the week we're visiting. The amenities within the well-manicured property at Element are fantastic! I haven't been in the exercise room, but the spacious pool is always a hit with the kids and the clubhouse has a lot to offer: big screen TV, computers with internet, a billiard table, and a kitchenette with an easy-to-use coffee machine that also makes hot cocoa. Element frequently hosts events in the clubhouse, too. My kids thought it was so neat to go swimming and grab a plate of spaghetti on our way back to the guest suite. Makes things nice for me! And trash service is so convenient. I know that sounds like an odd thing to mention, but it is so nice to simply put the trash can outside the door at night instead of having to haul bags to a dumpster and hope the kids behave while I'm gone. There is also a huge park nearby with an amazing play structure! I'll ask friends to meet us there, where all age-ranges have something to do. Element is close to the beach, shopping, plantations, and downtown but is still off the beaten path enough to feel like you're out in the open. Side note: if you really want a countryside, homey, engaging experience, visit Bee City! While there has been some staff turn-over through the years, it is due to the company's growth. Managers are well-trained at Element, and some move on to the new complexes; this seems understandable. Every manager I have encountered has been cheerful and helpful. My sons and I always look forward to our stay with Element at Carolina Bay Apartments!

Noise between apartments is like living in tents! Cyber cafe is empty 80% of the time. Management turnover is constant. One manager will promise you something, then another will say the opposite. Get absolutely everything in writing.... Or better yet, try somewhere else ??

If you live here you had better live on the top floor. Construction is marginal at best. a lot noise is a regular thing. 3 Managers in 14 months...... some better then others. Police were here multiple times......... no real response from management to address noise issues. Star bucks machine looks nice , but rarely works. Great sales people , maintenance very responsive. Management out to lunch. Residents seem to be a bother.

Overall I am happy with this apartment community. The features are very nice. The staff are always very helpful. The only problem I have with this community is I just had neighbors move in to the front of the building right by the entrance who are always outside smoking. I am very upset that I have to walk through a bunch of smoke every time I walk into my building. You're telling me these people who smoke constantly couldn't have had an apartment in the back of the building, rather than the one with the patio closest to the walkway to enter the building. I am very upset about this. I will be moving out as soon as my lease is up.

I can say enough great things about the Element. We moved here back in December and it's been nothing but a positive experience! Carolina Bay is a nice little community with great walking trails and parks. The apartments are well built with really nice finishes and fixtures. The grounds are pretty. The clubhouse is always clean. I'm in there daily getting a cup of coffee from their Starbucks machine! The ladies in the front office are always so nice and helpful. I highly recommend these apartments to anyone looking for quality, community and comfort with a luxury feel.

I moved in three weeks ago and I'm still impressed with the staff and residents here. Everyone is so welcoming, like one big family. As for the community itself, it is a fabulous place to live. Upscale living for people of all backgrounds. The apartments are large with beautiful landscaping. I highly recommend anyone looking for a luxury upscale apartment to come and join our family. You will not be disappoint. There is nothing else like it in West Ashley.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Element. Where to begin... Driving into the neighbor you feel like you are In a whole different world. Being 20 minutes from the beach and downtown you would never know that a beautiful, quite and safe neighborhood is just a turn off of 17. The staff are absolutely incredible. They are so willing to help, kind, smiling every time you see them and you feel like they would do anything and everything to make everyday so special for you. They put on events from movie nights to Saturday breakfast (my favorite) and create such a comfortable welcoming atmosphere everyday. The apartment themselves are a dream come true with plenty of floor plans to choose from to beautiful view of trees or water. The interior are all brand new with the newest appliances, amazing garden sized tub, to washer and dryers in each unit. They also have freshly ground coffee anytime you want, a car wash, free bikes to use to enjoy the neighborhood with, an inside pet washing station and a great dog park (or so my puppy says) I highly recommend element at Carolina bay. We absolutely love it here and are planning on staying here for s couple of years.

I love living at Element. My roommate and myself have been here for almost 2 months and I haven't had any complaints yet. The apartments are beautiful, everything is brand new! Gorgeous granite countertops and modern fixtures. The garden tubs in the master bathrooms are to die for. The staff are all extremely pleasant and learn your name quickly. We have a dog, he is only a little guy. Since we live on the 3rd floor, he has to be less than 50 pounds but lower floors can have a large breed dog. We had to put down a deposit to have him here and then we pay 5$ a month in pet rent. There is a valet trash service that every resident gets, which means you just leave your trash outside you door sunday-thursday night and someone comes to take it away for you! The staff hosts events at least once a month to get all the residents together and mingling. I would recommend Element 1743974893 times over again.

The resident events are a blast and I really feel valued by the staff. The best part is being nestled in the back of the Carolina Bay neighborhood. I genuinely feel safe here.

This apartment is a great place to live. It all starts with the office staff as being the most welcoming and warm people you will meet. The maintenance department quickly addresses each issue and fixes them promptly. We had a few basic issues with the apartment because of new construction forgetfulness but was easily fixed and done quickly. If you have a dog, you will be super pleased how dog friendly this place is. The overall location is a safe area and a great place to be. You can't go wrong with this place.

The amenities are top-notch, paired with the most caring management staff, it makes for a wonderful place to live. The "Element at Carolina Bay" is the most awesome complex I have every lived in. They are definately dog lovers here, I have two, and they are always welcome in the office where they have treats for our canine family and the staff not only know your name but your pets names as well. The few maintenence issues I've had have been addressed immediately. The surrounding are beautiful and the inside of the apartments are spacious and have high end appointments and 8 foot ceilings. I moved here after loosing my house and I couldn't ask for a better HOME! The staff here rocks! My fellow Elementers are friendly and outgoing and there is always some kind of event being planned to bring us together as a community! I give it two thumbs up for sure! You may pay a little more, but all the extras and ammenities including: valet trash pick up, free starbucks coffee and hot cocoa, candy and dog treats in the office, a dog park, soon to be carwash station and pet washing area,gym, pool and clubhouse with fireplace and billiards table make it well worth it!

This is our first time as renters, we have always owned. We have been pleasantly surprised. We have been here for 5 months and are extremely happy with our decision to call the Element, home. It is safe and the apartments are lovely. The staff here is amazing and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. The maintenance staff is super quick to respond if you have any issues! Even during all of the construction, we heard very little. There is a real sense of community here and that is something that we hear you don't feel in a lot of apartment complexes. I would highly recommend Element at Carolina Bay to anyone looking for a great, modern and friendly place to live!
