I moved in with my friend in April and this place is way to small for the TWO of us. The people here are nice and they help out if needed. I just think that I'm paying to much for the space we have. My neighbors are loud, but anywhere you go there is going to be a loud person. I do not know really how I feel about this place anymore. I liked it when moving in, but I know it is to small and I just need to move.

My husband and I recently moved into Claypond Commons in May. We are on the third floor. Our apartment is very quiet. The inside of our apartment had freshly painted walls and new carpet when we moved in. The staff is friendly for the most part. When presented with a complaint they fix the problem, but it usually fixed by punishing everyone. The grass is kept neatly cut, and flowers are planted around the grounds. The gym is usually empty, which is good because I like to work out by myself. The apartment is in a great location. It is five minutes firm Grand Coastal Mall, which offers restraunts, shopping, movies, and an arcade. It is ten minutes to Conway, Broadway, and Surfside. Overall, I am pleased with Claypond Commons.

I've been renting a studio apartment here for about six months and I'm happy with the place so far. Location The location is great with a lot of places to eat within short driving distance, I really love Gino's Pizza and Jimmyz Hibachi. And the Coastal Grand Mall is only a two or three minute drive. I love being able to just go see a movie with no drive time. There is a gas station/convenience store within walking distance just two lots down from the entrance(prices aren't great but it's convenient in a pinch) along with a decent spot for lunch just beside that called Serafino's Pizza. Noise (I hate the wording on the star rating system here, I'm assuming 5 is good) I've never had any issues with my neighbors honestly. But speaking specifically on sound I can't hear my neighbors through the walls of my apartment and I've never gotten any complaints about my noise. There is a pool not far my unit and you can hear the community from my unit, but it's not bad I work night shift and it's never kept me up during the day. The community does allow pets but I can't recall ever hearing any dogs barking from inside my unit and I know at least one of my neighbors has a dog. Trash There are plenty of outdoor trash drop off locations most of which never fill all week. Staff I'm always impressed by how friendly both the maintenance and office staff are. I've had to put in requests for maintenance twice and both were for non-urgent issues and both times they responded quickly. And any time I've had questions about policies the office staff has been willing to answer my questions. State of Apartment (studio) Everything was in working order when I moved in. No note worthy damage damage to the unit. I did call maintenance over the fridge when I first moved in as it sounded a bit loud with the apartment being open made it difficult to sleep. One of the maintenance guys came in replaced the motor and it's been much better since. The unit itself may be a bit small for some; it's certainly a bit cozy but I'm overall pretty happy with it. I have room for everything I need. Though I do wish I had a bit more closet space. Safety I'm usually awake late in the night and I feel safe when I go out to my car and the lighting in the hallways were upgraded recently it's really well lit. There are cameras in some of the halls and the laundry and fitness center. Parking There is plenty of parking for both residents and visitors. I've never had to park far from my unit and there seem to always be visitor spaces open. Pests There are regular dates set aside for pest control and I've had no particular issues with roaches and certainly nothing worse than that. I was told that if there were any issues a personal service date could be scheduled but I haven't had a need. I did call once about a hornet's nest on the outdoor patio and one of the maintenance guys came and cleared it out (brave guy). Fitness Center Probably my single favorite thing about the apartment complex. It's a small fitness center open 24hrs with: a tv mounted on the wall, a water cooler unit with hot and cold output, two treadmills, two bike machines, a cylindrical, and a bench with a set of dumbbells going from 5-50lbs in 5lb increments. It may not be much but it's enough that I'm happy to forgo an actual gym membership. And it's pretty under utilized so any time I go in I practically have it to myself. Appliances/AC/Water Heater etc The apartment comes with a fridge and an oven, neither is by any means top of the line but they both function well enough. I did inquire at one point to see if I could personally replace the fridge but sadly that's a no go. Still in terms of keeping food cool/frozen it does its job quite well. Oven works fine it's a bit awkward cleaning under the top grills but not unreasonably so. A/C is amazing no issues with cooling (one of the maintenance guys told me they were beefier than were probably need to be and I believe him). Water heats up in seconds for the shower. Kitchen sink is small but for a single person it's not too bad. No dishwasher for the studio but I prefer hand washing anyway. Grounds The lawns are well maintained and are kept clean. The commons seem like they'd be great for families with a pool and a play area for children along with a picnic area with grills. Third Party Services Time Warner cable - I think in the six months I've been here there has only been one outage for my internet. It's been fast and reliable. Horry Electric - I've heard that the rates are higher than for Santee Cooper but as far as service goes I've had no issues. Lane's Pest Control - No complaints I've been home both times they've come the guys come in do their thing and their out. I've had no noteworthy issues with pests for the duration of my time here. Laundry - I'm not sure off the top of my head what company is contracted for the laundry room. But they keep it in decent running order theres five washers (one is a high efficiency unit) four dryers and a snack machine. I'm not a huge fan of the cards issued for storing credits. You can't be credited for change only bills and the card itself is a bit over priced (I'm probably just bitter as I lost mine once). Overall I'm still back and forth over whether or not I want more space or not. Either way I would very much like to continue living here after my first year's lease is up.

The commons are up to date they just added a beautiful grill pool side the playground is very nice for my daughter and the dog park my dogs love it. They enforce there rules and it's a beautiful place because of it. Best complex I've lived in yet.

My family moved into the apartment complex in March 2014. Anytime we had a problem, it was fixed right away. When we went to renew our lease I was surprised that it only went up 3 percent. It wasn't bad at all. The most helpful people are the maintenance workers. They do everything in a timely fashion and are very professional. The pool and other amenities are kept very clean and safe. Overall, I have had a positive experience and appreciate what the staff does for the community.

We are very pleased with our experience at Claypond Commons. The office staff and maintenance staff are helpful, accommodating, professional and friendly. Our unit was "new" when we moved in. New carpet, paint, and appliances. Everything was clean.

I lived in Claypond Commons over 12yrs, which wasn't a plan to live in an apartment for this long. Management here is a blessing. They address all issues with such professionalism and friendliness. They make it a priority to make sure they take care of this entire community by keeping the outside safe and well kept, they also take care of any inside issues that may come about. Claypond Commons is also close to a lot of businesses for everyday use, such as grocery stores, schools, churches, entertainment, mall, etc. I think it is in a good location to live , regardless if it is not upscale, but it is a VERY safe and affordable place to live. Oh yeah, they love our pooches to !!!!! :O)

Me and my boyfriend moved into Claypond about a week ago and love it so far. We were in desperate need to find a place considering all other apartment complexes were full! Claypond was the last place that we had talked to and ended up finally being the one. The application and move in process was so easy. Shelly, one of the managers is an absolute sweetheart and makes sure you are taken care of. I wish that we had a renovated apartment as the non-renovated kitchen appliances are older and small. The neighborhood is kept up with and all the amenities are great. Overall, I recommend giving Claypond a try.

Have had very few problems since I moved in and they were always handled either the day of me reporting them or the day immediately after regardless of the hour I reported it. Office and maintenance staff are incredibly friendly and hardworking. This is my first place by myself and I could not have picked a better neighborhood. Neighbors generally keep noise to a minimum, the lawns, playground, pool are, fitness center, and all other amenities are kept in clean and beautiful condition.

Nice place with friendly staff and maintenance. The price of rent is reasonable for what you get. Some of the kitchen appliances are small and a little older. The dog park is a great feature and the swimming pool is nice during the summer.

I had initially written a very negative review that I have since removed. I had a very poor experience upon moving into Claypond due to previous management and could not wait to move out. I was so ready, in fact, that I found and paid for a new place months before my lease ended. When the time came for me to move, the new apartment complex (The Reserve at Ridgewood) informed me that they had never actually reserved the apartment I'd paid for. I was left with three weeks to find a new place. I decided to stay at Claypond, as I am a single parent managing a retail store full time and have very little free time to look for housing. I could not be happier with my decision! There is a new management team that is absolutely on the ball. They didn't hesitate when I asked them about renewing my lease that I had already terminated in preparation for my move. They gave me the option of upgrading to a renovated unit and I LOVE it! The upgraded floors, counters, and fixtures are well worth the extra fee. Having a unit I love have made it much easier to enjoy the other aspects of the neighborhood. It's relatively quiet, and there's a pond filled with all sorts of wildlife where my son and I love to picnic a few nights a week. I am so happy that I decided not to move. Two thumbs up to the new management team!

I like my apartment but it is a bit small and the kitchen design is odd lacking adequate storage. I also understand that my rent will increase at the end of my lease, but since I already pay top dollar for what I have so I am not sure if I will stay if it goes up. The grounds are nice but there are NO community activities, though I have recently heard that there are things being planned now that we have 2 people back in the office and the nice weather is returning. The office is incredibly busy all the time. Way too much for any one person. I would like to see a clear, lit, path from the rear buildings to the center and pool area and the center area covered as it appears to have been at one time. It would also be nice to have the clubhouse open on Sundays and later in the evening. As it is now it is only open the hours that the office is. The garage is a nice perk. and seems priced competitively.

Me and my fiance have been living here 5 months now and we love everything about it. The location is awesome, it isn't very noisy, neighbors friendly, and if we ever have an issue maintenance always come and fix it ASAP. Shelly is awesome and has the best attitude in the world. The dishwasher is a plus and they have washer and dryer connections and laundry places on site. There is also a pool which is lovely. I would recommend it to anyone.
