I would recommend it for $650 but certainly not worth $760. You can get a house for that each month. The rent increase for the conditions of the apartments, is definitely not acceptable. And newcomers have to pay $795.... thats INSANE for a 2 bedroom. Check out Carolina Forest, Forestbrook and even main Myrtle before this place. The kitchens are small, the carpets are crappy, the windows are moldy along with the porch doors, the roach problem in ever single building there is way out of control, the plumbing sucks and I could go on, but I think you get the point... Beware Beware Beware!!

Thank you to the new staff at Claypond Commons. They have been working really hard and at times may get too busy but they are always friendly and always take the time to listen and try to help as much as they can. The maintenance staff is a little busy at times and it may take a few days to get a work order done but when it's finished it's fixed right the fist time!! the old staff; that would never happen!! Thank you so much!! I love living here now!!

I have really enjoyed living at Claypond Commons. I hate that I am moving out now that new management has taken over. The new staff is very friendly and helpful and I think the residents at Claypond have a lot of good things to look forward to now that there is management that will finally do things and do them right the first time!

This is the worst place I have ever been at, and being from a city I have stayed in some pretty strange places. Where do I begin? First, the small stuff, we were told that the pets have to be one year old to stay, which we adopted a 1 year old pet and all was fine, however, when you walk around you see TONS on pups that are new born! Thats not really right. Bigger stuff, my neighbors were able to break their lease early because they found a house. When I wanted to transfer for college, they told us we couldn't do the same....wtf? Next, our toilet was broke when we moved in, it kept flushing by itself, I didn't really mind, but 6 months into our lease, after they had been in my apt several times they decided it was a problem and it was our fault for not telling them? NEXT, my toilet broke on my birthday, (Saturday), they said they couldn't fix it until monday because the men had took weekend off, so they had no backup? NEXT, my air broke for the 2nd time, so my apt is hot, and we were just told they couldn't fix it right now, but here is the stuff you can do it yourself.......need I say more? Thats just the staff problems, now for the place problems, the steps are so tiny you can barily fit through them walking, so if you get food or need to pack up beds, chairs, whatever, well good luck. They say they do all these background reports on everyone, well a girl that lives at the grounds with was told by a guy that lives near us he hasn't had sex in 6 months, and that she should be a stripper....shes 20 and he has A WIFE......When we moved in for the first month we had tons of roaches, the spiders outside the apartments are nuts you cant go a week without getting a bite. The "------" people fight ALL the time, one time management even had to stop them they were so loud. Oh and the place next door, I am not sure of the name, has had 3 gun shootings this past summer.....I WILL never stay at this place agian....EVER..Seems like for $703 a month and $125 cable bill you would get treated a little better, and I am a easy person, cound't imagine if you are picky.....I also forgot the people on my floor also leave their trash out and nasty things leak out and get of the floor sometimes, I have reported this twice since they told me that wasn't allowed. Yes, nothing was done.

My daughter (college student) moved out of her apartment on the last day of her lease. She got a letter about 2 wks later saying that she owed a $580 lease termination fee. When I called to ask how she is charged a termination fee when she stayed her whole lease, they said that they made a mistake and she should have been charged 2 months rent because she didn't give a 60 day move out notice. They said she didn't give notice until September 6th. Well, she moved out on August 31st and gave them their keys on that same date. They have in the letter that she gave notice on September 6th. Another resident moved in to her apartment on September 10th. They still want her to pay for either the termination fee (for a lease that she did not break, or 2 months rent on the apartment (September and October) when someone else has been living there since September 10th! WOW ----NOT!!!!

great place to live
This apartment complex is a great place to live. Staff is also very nice. Only downside is the laundry room is small for the amount of people that use it.

Easy Living
I Love living at Claypond Commons!!! Staff are helpful and friendly. When maintenance requests are submitted they are promptly addressed and repaired/replaced the same day!! Rent is reasonable and the size of a 2 bedroom 2 bath is quite large.

Good value for price
I have been living at Claypond Commons for just over year and overall I have no complaints. For me the most important factor in finding an apartment was the price/value, and this was by far the most reasonable priced apartment that I found in Myrtle Beach. While the apartment is not large (1 bdrm, 600 sq feet), it is well laid out and feel more spacious than it is, and it well kept up. Management has been great, and they know me by name when I visit the office. I have had minor maintenance issues 2-3 times, but they have always been fixed within the same day (including one after hours issue). Only occasional noise issues, and actually come from the neighboring apartment complex.

short term lease
Needed a 3 month lease on a studio. They didn't jack up the price like most places in the area. When i needed to extend a month they worked with me to retain the decent price. The guy upstairs was a stomper, other then that pretty quiet in the apt. The actual apt. didn't have any issues, but felt kind of dated. I had issues with my toilet and locks; they were fixed same day of reporting. The fitness center is fairly limited (2 bikes, 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical) but due to low usage it didn't really matter, in 4 months working out every other day I saw another person 3 times during my hour . Really can't complain about anything there. Isn't the greatest apartment around probably, but it's quiet, stuff gets fixed quick and I think both residents and staff were pretty easy to get along with.

Although the staff is very nice, the DOG ---- situation is BAD. It is OUT OF CONTROL...... It's everywhere..... If I had children here, I would NOT let them play in the courtyard.

Happy here
Alot of the reviews I see online for this place are old. So I thought I should leave a review. The management staff is very polite and courteous. One of the ladies lives in the community and is always very nice when we see her walking around. The maintenance staff is very helpful and usually quick to respond. Some of our neighbors are little annoying but there isnt much we can do about that. Over all we have had, and I expect to continue to have, a pleasant experience while living here. On a side note they are doing a thing, for the last year atleast, if you sign a 13 month lease you get 2 months free. Which they spread out and charge you $95 less per month. In my opining that is a fantastic deal. Apartments where I am from are much more expensive then that for less.

Love living here
I moved here in Feb. of 2006 and I must say that I have enjoyed living here. The Office managers are always very nice and they do address any and all issues that I have had. The maintenance personal have always been able to fix any issues that I have had and they usually came out on the same day that I notified the apartment managers, if they couldn't, they came the next day and left a note on the counter so where I could see it. My neighbors are really nice and this place is a good place to raise my son. The bus stop is right at the end of the street and its very convenient. My lease is up in March of 2010 and I will be sad to leave this place. I have yet to have a noise complaint about any of my neighbors and the grounds are kept up each and every Monday.

Ok
I lived there for 9 months last summer. It was ok at first beacuse it was my 1st apt with my gf. Mngt told us that parking is bad but its god awful i should not have to park 2 buildings away. And that was part with the -------- starting to over run the place. We had a family of them move in across from us and it was a 2BD but there was about 15 of them in there. Then we had a couple above us that had a very cute dog, and every night and day they were fighting sometimes i belive they beat each other. And then every time it would get bad, the next thing we knew she was screaming beacuse they were having sex. And it got load at times so me and my gf returned the favor! Last but not least when we 1st moved in we had a couple below us and they were not a proplem until they moved out beacuse two gay guys moved in and they did nothing but complain about us and then called they cops one night beacuse we will being to loud w/e. The mngt is not bad but could and should be better. And the big boss dont remember her name but she always flited with me and she almost got in my pants but if your looking for something cheap then yea its ok.

Parking
There are new parking guidelines. You are only issued one parking sticker per apartment no matter how many cars you have. You are to park your second vehicle in the visitor parking spots that have now been marked, however, there are only a hand full of visitor parking spaces and they get taken quickly in the evening. I have no where for my visitor(s) to park. Now I'm told that if my visitor(s) park anywhere other than the visitor marked spots, they will be towed at owners expense. Now how does this make any sense. Management cannot tell you that you cannot have visitors. So, now what are we suppose to do. Those of us that follow all of the rules are being punished because of those that don't follow rules. Also, there is a dog droppings issue. I always pick up after my dog, but others do not. It would be nice to see all following the same rules. One more thing.....I was locked out of my apartment and called the emergency number that I was given. No one ever called me back. Still sitting on the porch...
