Great place, nice new management
I've lived here for a month, and I'm shocked to see the other reviews. It is an older complex, but they're making a lot of renovations, and I've been pretty happy here. All the appliances are brand new, the pool's awesome, and the lake view is amazing. Regarding the actual building, it helps that the office staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. Once, an outlet in my apartment didn't work, and the maintenance guy fixed it within an hour. And when I first moved in, the washer connection needed to be checked and they did that right away. I don't know about how the laundry room is b/c this is one of only a few complexes on the island with washer and dryer connections, so I just use my own, which is a plus. I really think you should give it a chance and at least take a look at it. I'll keep you posted.

You get for what you pay for. Nice rent range if you're looking for something inexpensive. The carpet is one step above concrete. The shelves are cheaply installed ( I have had 2 fall within the cabinets) I had a mouse crawl through the dryer space hole!!! It has a nice lake view and fireplace, but the third floor is poorly insulated during the winter months. Laundry room is very scary :(

Don't believe the hype!!
I question the last few reviews and if they are really tenants or just office staff.. if you drive through the parking lot.. you stil see the huge construction site dumpsters. While the maintinance staff is good.. the maintinance issues are HORRIBLE!! It's also infested with mosquitos.. and no.. you do not get window screens on your windows!! My electric bill is OUTRAGOUS!! There is not insulation in the walls, and trust me.. there is nothing energy effient about this place!! There are also HUGE rats!!! Also.. if you do fall for the hype of the model they show you.. be ready to be fee'd to death. They also allow HUGE dogs.. some look like they could be part horse!! The back part is still scary!! There are no building lights for safety... I personal think the owner (the baseball player Alex Rodriguez) should pump some money into this place instead of cheating on his wife!! Maybe she will get the property when they divorce and doing something better with it.. one can hope! I'm waiting for my lease to be finished. The drive to the UTMB campus is toooooooo long.. and God help you if it is night time and you have to drive back into town to get milk!! Why are there no street lights out here?????

Nancy is a two faced hag... she yelled at me and insulted my husband and i then she decided that she was going to be nice to me... The staff was horrible and it changes way too much... i had to submit a letter to the office 3 times before anything was done and some stuff is still messed up... the "remodeling " people did a hirrible job on everything... this is worse than living in the dorms... there is way too much crime and there is no lighting...

It's okay...
Cheap remodel. Most things are falling apart. My toilet seat came off, my kitchen counter tops sunk in, and the closet doors came completely off track to name a few things. It's cheap rent, but you get what you pay for. As for crime, it does happen here, windows have been shot out of vehicles. Haven't heard of any robberies though. Parking is bad. Overall, it is a good place for students.

GREAT PLACE HAS BEEN TOTALLY RENOVATED NEW OWNERSHIP
This place is awsome. Disregard all negative comments. New ownership came in and spent millions in renovations.

Don't do it!
They lie, they don't respond, they do not return your deposit after saying they would. Don't care what happens while you're living there, flooded twice, and they have absolutely no concern for the renter at all. Their main concern is getting your money and after that they could care less & their attitude stinks!

looking up
There has been alot going on here but at the same time things are looking up. The new company has put in new stairs (the old ones were literally falling apart), put on new siding and new roofs. Maintenance has done as well as they could with what they had. The noise level is due to construction, and will obviously end. There's alot of extensive construction going on, but I'm curious and excited to see what the end product is.

Have lived here for better than 3 years and it goes from bad to worse. Noisy area. Old appliances requiring a lot maintenance. On site management that tells you anything you want hear just to get you off their backs while you continue to wait for service. And now they want to jack up the rent ?!... I'm outta here!

I have lived in these apartments for 3 years. They are not luxurious, not clean and they are not safe. They are noisy and the management is rude and do not respond to the clients. The new management is quite condesending. I was threatened with eviction even though I had paid six months in advance. AND THEY RAISE THE RENT 50%!!!!!!

Awful!
I would never live here. I have been a resident at this apartment for 4 years. I have been here through the changes of several managers and owners. About six months ago I wanted to renew my lease, I was informed I could not renew my lease because they were selling the complex. The apartments were recently aquired by the new owners who I have found to be very rude. I was recently notified that the rent would be increased $250.00 a month. Due to what they call "market rate" increases, as a result of the new construction and aquisition of the apartments. They have mentioned the remodeling of the apartments but that does nothing for the fact that it will not increase the square footage of the place! I can not imagine paying $800-$1,000.00 a month for this place! The worst part is I love the apartments. Not so much the exterior but my neighbors were wonderful! I have really enjoyed living here I feel like they are breaking up our family! But because of all of this, I am moving ASAP and so are they! They are going to lose a lot of great people!

No longer worth it.
When I first moved in to this complex, I was thrilled, I had waited over a year to get in! Not only did I get to move into the complex I had held out for, I got a GREAT deal!! I have a 2/2 for a great price! I was told the new owners wanted to keep the tenants that had been with the complex. Then I find out rent was being raised by over $300.00/month AND you have to re-pay the application fee and move into another unit. The management doesn't care about how loyal you have been, as proven to me. The management isn't concerned about helping past tenants stay. The electric bills are OUTRAGEOUS!

Not worth it!
I have lived here almost a year. Overheard someone talking about the rent being raised from 700.00 to 1025.00 per month, 2 bed room 2 bath, since they are "renovating" the property. Still have not received anything from management, but did call and confirm the rent increase is correct That is a 50% increase, right now during construction the construction workers are living in the empty apartments on the property and hanging out when they are not working , with I am sure no back ground check, appear to be illegal aliens. very unnerving!!!

Property is falling down. Maintenance is not kept up or high priority and currently raising rent rates. Proposed rent rates for teh quality of the apartments is too high - search somewhere else for living.

I would never move here. The apartments are full of mold and very trashy. The let anyone leave here. Cars are always broke into and apartment doors kicked in. The new owners are rude and very unfriendly. I would never move here or make that mistake twice. the patio's are ready to give way and the siding is falling off in huge pieces. The dont care to fix anything. Plus the property doesnt pay there bills and the cable is always cut off along with the office phones.

Not that bad
I have lived here for a while and its has gone down some but my work orders are always done on time and i have never had to wait for anything. The staff is nice and friendly. I would recommed this property to anyone looking because the apartments are big and priced good

Worst place ever
This place is a joke. They lowered the rent to where any trash can move in. Yet they will tow your car if your inspection sticker expires. Maint. is a joke. Don't even try to call to get something fixed. The people in the office are a bunch of punk teenages who dont know whats going on. Id advise moving anywhere but here.

Used to be a nice place.
My family and I moved in here two years ago. The management was responsive and helpful, the grounds were beautifully kept, parking was never an issue, neighbors were never a problem. Since then the owners have refused to put any money into the place and it has gone downhill. They are renting to a number of Section 8 cases, and neighbor problems are a frequent concern. Maintenance is slow in responding. The grounds are poorly kept (to the point that safety is an issue). Some of the buildings are becoming dilapidated.<br><br>This could be a Class A property with the right treatment, but until someone purchases the property and pours quite a bit of money into it, it's going to become more and more of a ------.<br><br>Don't rent here.

Good Place
I like this place. I havent had any problems, The pool is clean and pretty I have no problem swimming in it and I like the management and workers the are all nice

Not a place to live!!
The grounds were filthy with trash everywhere, the landscaping hasn't been kept up and the "ponds" are mosquito ponds. The water in them was green and they weren't filled. The place was loud. very loud. There was dog feces all over the property. Cars on blocks and broken down in the parking lot. No parking at all. The management was poor and the people in the office rude. I never set foot in the pool due to the filth. I wouldn't recomend living there to anyone I like.

Not so great....
Yeah, I would recommend this place to someone I don't like too much. It is pretty dirty all around and the managment takes either forever to get something fixed, even with reminders, or just never does it. Also a bit of stealing goes on from stuff on porches, etc.

I have lived here for 12 years and there has been lots of management changes, but the new staff is the best they have every had. Yes the property does have some problems but what can you expect from a property that is 20 years old. I have never had any maintence issues. the one time I had an a/c problem that could not be fixed on the weekend the manager gave me the model apartment to stay in. Everybody is intitled to there opinion but this is one property that you should make your own about. Just stop by and take a look
