This place is a total crock!!!!! WORST COMMUNITY!

My Fiance and I have lived at the Mira Vista Apartment's for two years now, they are gorgeous high rise apartments, but if it were not for the appearance of this community, nobody would live here. We have had NOTHING but problems from management, if you need anything done, don't count on it being done in a timely manner. Management has been overturned 6 times since we have lived here, they charge you OUTRAGEOUS FEES. The entry cameras, gym cameras and business center cameras do not work which is an amenity you pay for. They never fix them. You pay a "new carpet fee" of $25 monthly; before signing your lease make sure your carpet is actually new. Our's was not, it is 6 years old...by Texas state law you have to replace carpet every 5 years. You pay for a 24/7 gym, which they discontinued due to the flat screens being stolen 5/6 months ago, but you are still charged for. There is dog ---- EVERYWHERE!! Nobody picks up after their pets. This complex itself is still settling so by the end of your lease you have cracks in your walls and molded ceiling/floor boards crack off the walls which they can charge you for as they are not under a TDHA lease when you move, the owners are based out of California...HA enough said there. Our fixtures and odd and ends in our apartment have simply FALLEN OFF without misuse. Our lease had 4 different pages with different apartment numbers on them, in which the leasing agent told us she could NOT reprint until we showed her the huge mistake she had made. The staff is VERY rude, non-sympathizing, just overall poor customer service from all members of the staff, managers included. The apartment below us has been broken into 3 times in 4 months, the last time my fiance was held at gunpoint chasing off whomever it was robbing the downstairs apartment and they did nothing. All we asked is that a letter be distributed to the community informing them of the situation as living in a gaited community, you would think it would be safer and they would WANT to notify their residents. (They will place a letter on your door letting you know that the TV's were stolen, but not that there is a potential threat to your community?) The manager has given us the run around for 5 months now saying that SAPD is behind in their paperwork and the police report is not available for release. I went down to SAPD and obtained a copy 2 months ago, but continually call in to see if she has it or not. We renewed our lease; they never cleaned our carpet, or gave us any of the other options that come along with renewal. THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPLEX!!!!!!!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!! Very very overpriced, hyped up "Premiere Property of San Antonio". The only thing PREMIERE about this complex is that it is esthetically pleasing. You might as well pay 1/2 the price and live in a community where they at least pretend they care. From renter to renter - just a little FYI.

Rude

I've been working in the apartment industry for a couple of years now. I have never met so rude of leasing staff, most properties have their snooty ms know it all girls (guys as well) yet anytime I have to work with the staff I leave the phone call wanting to call back and put them in their place. Ughh!

Could not allow Nancy0306 tell the world many lies!

OK...Read the comment added to Nancy0306's posting. Only Management themselves post their own good reviews on here. No one in their right mind is going to give Mira Vista a 4 or 5. The on site Employees have been losers for years. Even when they dump some loser employees they turn right around and hire or promote others just as stupid as the ones before. Oh by the way, if you think the management staff or management company gives a damn about anything that happens in this complex after office hours, you are terribly wrong. Good luck living in Mira Vista cause I admit it does look like a good place from the outside but the plumbing fixtures and lighting fixtures all look like they were bought at Goodwill Store.

Amazing First Impression

Recently my husband and I went on an apartment search for our new home together, and naturally, we went to apartment ratings, just so we would have a jist on what to expect. The ratings on this apartment were so-so, but the apartment looked so nice I just had to check it out! We delt with Margo, and she was exceptional. Right from the moment we walked in she was so helpful, sweet and understanding. The complex is so beautiful its insane how inexpensive it can be! Its right across the street from Six Flags and La Cantera, so close to I-10 and 1604, all of the people who currently reside there did seem a little on the younger side, but I don't have a problem with that! I havent moved in just yet, I am set to move in at the end of the month, and so far, I think the first impression of this complex was amazing. Its good to come to these websites to see what you are going to be dealing with in the future, but always remember to check it out for yourself because you never know what preference they can cater to! Do not move here!!

They lost my rent check, even though I had my bank statement that the check went out prior to the due date, they denied it, contacted the police to have us evicted??(yes, they did this without alerting me that they had not received my check), and then "Magically" the check appeared in their office (after we received the eviction notice). But, low and behold, we were still stuck with the $175 court costs. Don't waste your time here, the office staff has the mind of a 2 year old. Otherwise known as IDIOTS!!! Consider yourself warned, find somewhere else to live!

Mira Vista is 10 times better now than when HeathXX and DaisX were working there!!

FINALLY!!!! The Management got rid of HeathXX...and DaisX...working at Mira Vista! My question is, why the hell did Management wait so fricken long to get a clue?!?!?! Lots of damage was done having these two total losers working in the Office. I am willing to clean the slate now and give Mira Vista a fair chance to do the logical and obvious things to maintain sanity in this complex. 1) Hopefully, this coming spring and summer, Management can prevent the non-resident UTSA invasion of the pools and sand volleyball areas!! 2) Prevent the late night after hours noise around the pool area since the previous losers working in the Office could care fricken less about what the Tenants had to deal with after the Office was closed.. Previous Management fought tooth and nails not to enforce any security patrol to monitor through pool area and complex more than simply one pass through per night. Duhhhh, it's NOT rocket science!! Get a clue Mira Vista, you make tons of money... Hire a security guard with some BALLS and someone that will pass through the complex at LEAST every hour between 11 PM to 5 AM. 3) Get the landscapers to prune back all the trees and shrubs so the tenants that thought they were paying for prime location to see the pool areas can actually see it!! 4) Installing speed bumps are MANDATORY...I have almost got killed several times in front of building 11 when stupid people are shifting into 3rd gear there thinking it's the autobahn down that strip. NOTE: I have mentioned this to Mgmt. in the past and now I am posting it publicly to the world. If I or some other tenant gets ran over out in the parking lot due to some idiot going 30 MPH, well, Mira Vista can accept the legal liability of the consequences. Mira Vista, spend a buck and do the right thing for the safety of the tenants!! 5) Amazing how this complex cater so much to pets. They have signs everywhere in Office advertising no pet size limit, free doggie biscuits everywhere. Makes this complex seem very desperate to get anyone they can as tenants. Nothing against pets, but my gosh, where is the consideration and compromise to us that don't want to walk outside in caca and hear dogs the size of miniature horses barking?? Because you can be assured Management is not going to take any action when there is a problem in this area! Management will probably continue doing what they always do, tell the tenants to call 911 and since SAPD never responds to anything unless there is a murder, even then SAPD won't show up until the gutless Wonders think the gun fire has stopped before their arrival! I sure hope the new Management can lighten up! If so, I will continue to renew my lease. If not, I will make sure to do more than my share to spread the word that this complex is not worth the troubles many of us have had to deal with during the previous losers running this place!! My comments may seem harsh...but some people just need a reality check of the FACTS!

Love it

I have been living here almost a year now. I am a college student so this is perfect because it is RIGHT across the street from the school. Although it is across from the school, it is a VERY quiet and peaceful complex. No noise what so ever. The place is always very clean. The work out room is never crowded and the pool is always running properly. If you are looking for an apartment here then you definitely need to talk to Gin. She is great and will help you with anything you need. This is also a great location. 5 minutes from wal mart, target, heb, banks, imax movie theatre, boutiques (great shopping is right across the street at the shops of la cantera), and many restaurant and fast food joints. This complex also has a great view of the city because it s up on a hill. You will also never have trouble finding parking.

Dog ---- Everywhere At Mira Vista Apartments

If you like to look at the beautiful Hill Country standing or walking in dog crap, move to Mira Vista. Pets are loveable. But Mira Vista encourage pet owners to move in and then Mira Vista Management DOES NOT pick up the dog waste on a regular basis. It's sickening to walk in this stuff. And some of the pet owners in Mira Vista are some of the worst folk on this globe. Mira Vista management is the WORSE. If you like dog crap, move to Mira vista...

Don't be fooled with the fake padded postings, Mira Vista still sucks!

The Office Mgmt. at this complex is the worst in Texas. Don't let their lies and sales pitches fool you! Go into the complex without the Mgmt. accompanying you and talk to real people living inside. Ask them about their personal experiences with their own dealings with the Mira Vista office management. It's only about signing leases and sales for the office Staff. After that, they are totally worthless. good luck!

Skeptical, but thankfully proven wrong!

I recently relocated to San Antonio from Dallas due to work and found this place on a website when researching apartment complex's near my new workplace. Everything about this place seemed similar to my current apartments so I figured it would be one of the main ones to check out when I started my hunt. The complex was just like the picture when pulling in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They informed me that had just went under a new staff change and hired on more maintenance due to the response from certain issues that had overcame in the past. Suprisingly they had some of the lowest specials they had in the area so I decided that it would probably be the best fit for me. After leaving my money to hold the apartment, I went home and ended up further researching the place. I stumbled across this website and was shocked to find some of the responses to this particular apartment complex I had just left applied at. Everything seemed just the opposite than what I had seen myself. I cringed at the fact that I hadn't researched earlier, but at this point there was nothing that I could have done. The next day the leasing person called me to let me know that I had gotten approved for the apartment and went over further information. I moved in at the end of September and was on a day by day stand by for some of the problems everyone else had stated to happen here in my home. To this day I have had no issues whatsoever inside of the apartment, minus a lightbulb being replaced. The staff is still as courteous as they were when I first arrived and have nothing but good things to say!

Go somewhere else. Not for adults.

The only good thing about Mira Vista Apartments is the maintenance staff. Kudos to Payton. He came out to my appartment in the middle of the night to address a water heater problem I had when the office staff basically ignored it for a week while I was cleaning up water every evening when I came home from work. The office is run by a bunch young girls who don't have a clue about running an appartment complex much less customer service. If you already live there don't bother cleaning the place when you leave. You won't get your deposit back anyway. I paid $150.00 to have the place cleaned and still didn't get a dime back. The excuse was they had to replace the carpet and fix a dent in the wall. For the record, the carpet was old and worn when I moved in 5 years ago, of course they had to replace it. They should have replaced it before I moved in. As far as the dent in the wall, a little spackle and paint probably cost maybe $20.00 to fix. They allow the college kids to take over the pool with loud music and drunk morons. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was due to the fact I didn't know if I was going to stay in Texas or not and didn't want to buy a home. Do yourself a favor, find a place with adults

MV Management writes their own good reviews here

Don't be fooled, Mira Vista management comes to these sites and writes their own good reviews. I can tell you with all certainty, one of the main complaints about this apartment complex is the people working the office. Just don't believe or trust them. It's a terrible experience and no one can get in touch with the Corporate Office. So, if you decide to live at Mira Vista anyway and go against good advice, be very prepared to get no satisfaction from the on-site office staff and management when you need them the most. New to Mira Vista

My husband and I were referred by an agent to this property. I too read the reviews, too little, too late. I later realized he showed us the worst of SA apartments then, he thought about the perfect place...Mira Vista (he really hyped it up, wonder how much he got paid)! We were in awe with the mirage of perfection, the day we visited, the pool was clean, not too many people and the property was clean. They explained that they were in the process of updating the gates and that the property is very safe. We don't allow this, we don't allow that... I asked several questions because I know how apartments that rent to students are. Overall we were there on a short visit and decided to go ahead with this property, after all he's an agent, he knows best (for his pocket). We've been here since late March and so far so good. It's not perfect by any means. After viewing other apartments since moving here, we are in an expensive dump! You are fooled or influenced by the appearance of The Westin La Cantera Resort, Golf Course, The Shops of La Cantera and the RIM! All of these things are nice, but Mira Vista is not associated with these places by any means. So here goes, my view of all the good and bad! Parking- not enough, we have 2 vehicles as most people now a days do. We often have to park beside our building when the parking spaces are filled. I'm thinking about renting a carport, but the issue is I would have to pay for it, really, for the rent one carport space should be free. Until then, get home early, to get the better park! Noise- so far so good, I think we live in the better part, not close to the pool but close enough to property office. There are several professionals in our building or unit. But since school has started, new tenants are appearing. Grounds- for the most part, they are clean until you really look. Residents allow their dogs to have a poop fest in the sun burned lawn (the poop can't fertilize the dead). They should clean behind their pets, this is a problem that management should enforce, I have complained. On Sunday, I watched a grounds person ride in the parking lot and pick up debris from the little golf cart; however, he never got out to get the huge piece of trash and plastic bottle in the grass. Now there's an older -------- grounds keeper that is always working, I also had a chance to watch him and he does get out of the cart to work. They have yet to ask the tenants that haven't picked up their phone books to do so or just trash them instead of leaving them outside the door, it's not a good look. The Postal Center stays trashed, they need to add another trash can for junk mail. You can tell young people live here, the mail is all over the floor. The pool is always dirty, I wonder do they ever filter it or clean it. You can see the debris floating. Safety- two of the tenants in our unit had their cars burglarized. It would be nice to see security on the grounds to make you feel safe. They should be present day and night, at least 2; put those carts to use after hours! The gate still doesn't work properly and I have witnessed several cars piggy backing onto the premises. I have also witnessed several tenants opening the gates for others to get onto the premises maybe because the gate isn't working or just because. Construction- overall it will do, but for what we pay...it could be better. The thermostats are old and worn and really should be updated. Maintenance- they will fix it, but read your lease, they aren't required to fix many things, thank God those things aren't broken. Staff- I haven't had major problems with management, but I do make a copy of everything and ask whom ever accepting any payments to initial. I dislike the way they organize their office postal center, it sucks, you come in and ask for your package and they literally have to search for it in that tiny room. It should be organized and simpler. Everyone is always in the other office and never at the desk when you walk into the office, then if they are at the desk, they are usually talking to each other or on the phone. When they see you, they continue to finish their conversations via phone or colleague, then ask if they can assist you (sometimes 5-7 min later). So there you go, the ins and outs of Mira Vista... it's the truth, the whole truth, so help me! I've only been here a while, and really don't plan to make Mia Vista my permanent home, only a year, that's what I signed for, that's all I'm doing. So I am thankful for the post about the lease issues. I hope this helps.

Look elsewhere before you sign.

This place is poorly constructed. It is very nice on the outside but the interior is outdated and poorly made. The walls are thin so you can hear everything. There are lots of fights in the middle of the night, theft and parties. I had everything from leaks to mold in my unit...and that doesn't include the noise! Also, the staff is pretty bad. They lose paperwork and charge for anything they can make up. I would recommend looking at some of the newer complexes in the area before you sign here.

Great Place to Live

I was housed here while working in the city. The location is great Six Flags is in the area.. New Mall built.. They do background checks on all tenants prior to move in "I personally love this". Woudl suggest if you are single professional or traveling with kids is universally suited complex.

Great Management!

My husband and I just moved into the Mira Vista. We have rented many apartments, condos, and townhouses because of his job. We were very pleased with the service, professionalism, and friendliness of the staff at Mira Vista from the very first contact. Gin Mozeley listened to our needs and took care of all the paperwork since we were coming in from out of the city. She helped us out and made all the arrangements for us so the move-in was smooth. We called with a hundred questions before and after our move-in. She always treated us as though we were her most important tenants. The apartment is everything she said it was. It is beautiful, the view is awesome, and the location is superb!!! The grounds are gorgeous and well taken care of. Everyone in the office from management to maintenance has been very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place to anyone!

unprofessional management but great view

The staff definitely need training as how to manage and talk to the tenants. Dont expect a lot if you move in. I heard a poor guy was in the office a while ago whose stuffs were confiscated because of few days delay in paying the rent! Apparently, the management had lost his check and charged him for an extra fee. These are few documented things that happen in Mira Vista: 1- Extra charge for no reasons 2- Sending 2 water bills for the same period; check your bills 3- Loosing the monthly payments and charging the tenants for late fees etc 4- Asking you to pay an extra (more than you can imagine) for normal wear and tear at the end of your lease 5- Zero attention to tenants' noise etc 6- Dirty pool and dirty Gym; bikes were not working and the management simply removed them not repairing them! 7- The Gate never works so everyone can come and use the facility, workers who work at the adjacent hotel trespass Miravista and wash themselves at the evening in the pool! Management only care about the payments! 8-DOnt be fouled by the outside look/

RenewedAgain

I have the wonderful experience to live with neighbors in Bldg 6 that consist of some old timers. The perk is they know EVERYTHING! I have lived here since 2007 and keep to myself most of the time. I have always liked the maintenance, they're very nice but the only time I went to the office to talk to management about 1 yr ago, the office staff said she was unavailable, but I knew ----- was in her office she just never wanted to talk to us residents. Nowadays, Bldg 6 talks about the new staff and manager. They are very nice to me when I pay my rent and I just signed a renewal with a good rent for me and new countertops. I wanted to meet the new manager and spoke with her a bit. I told ----- about my experience with the other management and staff. She let me know that she cares about cleaning up and making changes but when speaking with her there are many. I told her we have seen some of the changes. The people she's had moved out like in our building 6. We especially liked when the kids throwing parties were moving out and when we asked them if they were moving, they said yes because the new manager didn't allow them to renew. We told them that was too bad but we were glad someone finally got rid of them, they were messing up the rose garden we had made with their beer cans. We also liked how on the weekend the staff is checking for passes and asking some people to leave because they weren't residents. We basically just wanted to write to say this because it looks like there's 1 very unhappy resident writing a lot of horrible things under anonymous who I'm sure has never met with anyone in the office or even the manager. Don't listen to him. The old timers that have lived here close to 10 years know more and we say Keep up the excellent work. We are very happy.

4 year renter

I have been living here for 4 years and wasn't aware that there was a new office staff. My lease was up and went to the office and saw a lot of new faces. I really didn't care to meet anyone because I thought the manager was the same. But since I needed to see about my rent for renewal, I got to meet the new manager. I asked her what happened to ----- and ------, which she didn't really answer but explained that the whole office staff was new to Mira Vista. I decided to take time to tell her about ALL the problems I've had in my apt that have been ignored. She wrote everything down & told me she would take care of everything. I am writing today because to my suprise, everything in my apt has been taken care of. The previous manager just didn't care. I have written bad reviews on this site before but I decided to write a nice response for a change. Its unfortunate that the owners for Mira Vista don't do newsletters so the residents can know when there's new staff. Some of these reviews may still be complaining of the previous staff. Anyhow, I felt you should hear my good experience and encourage you to rent at Mira Vista because it finally has someone who cares working there.

Happy Resident

I love living here, I think it is great. I love my apartment, the mainanintance guys are really nice, the girls and guy in the office are always really helpful and nice when I am in the office, parking is great I have never had a issue. You can not always believe what you read on these blogs, most of these residents need a place to vent and didnt get there way on something. I would encourage any one I know to live here. It's a safe beautiful place to live. With any apartment complex you are going to have your issues with loud residents, repairs, etc. It's how you address theses issues and let the management know of things that arise.

Formal Complaint

The management had lost my check and charged me over $200 for non-payment. reading your stories, I am more convinced about their mismanagement.
