Trust-Fund Babies who party all night
I was looking for a nice and quite place to call home.

Initially it was very nice. Then something strange happened: Inconsiderate Generation-Y started moving in.

Rich trust-fund babies with more money than consideration began partying at all hours of the night. It was like being at a Democratic Convention - only with more drugs, 18-year-old girls and alcohol.

I was hoping for an "adult" environment that I could share with other IT and office professionals.

What I received was Animal House for the twenty-first century.

I guess it's about where you want to be...
I've been a resident here at Mira Vista for about a year now. I chose not to be by the pool area beacuse I know it would be noisy, having been an apartment dweller for many years. I chose a nice externally facing apartment with a great view. I have found Mira Vista to be very quiet and a good place to live. Even in the best places in NY and Miami where I paid over double what I pay here, there were always the crappy people who leave beer bottles everywhere, are rude and inconsiderate. The staff are pretty decent actually and the facilities are good and always clean and in working order. The overall appearance of the place is very good. About the only complaint I have is that they allow trash to be set outside on pickup days. It does make the place look cheap on those days. All in all, I like it here.

don't even think about it
Mira Vista advertises themselves as luxury apartments and an adult community - and they charge for these amenities, but I can tell you after living there that it's all lies. Luxury...the fittings in these apartments are the cheapest available. Kitchen cabinets are hung improperly, flooring will buckle, appliances are college dorm quality. Adult community...Mira Vista will rent to anyone who comes up with a deposit, then ignore the collegiate behavior. In my building, there were six colleges students living below me who hosted weekly beer parties and basically trashed the stairwells, the parking area, and their balcony. Management never did a thing about this and I called the police seven times before action was taken. There are regular volleyball/pool parties for college students who don't live there and forget about being able to use the gym as it's generally being used by UTSA students who drive up the hill. No one picks up the dog feces and the management could care less about the appearance of the grounds, leaving dead trees and garbage piled everywhere. It was a very bad experience and worth every penny for my to break my lease and pay them off just to get out of the complex.

Good Experience
I lived here when they first opened for a few months. My experience was very good. The complex has nice facilities, awesome club house and saunas. The staff was very helpful at all times. The managers were especially helpful through out my entire stay. My apartment days are over, but this is the best out of my experiences : Fountain Head(medical center), The Seville ( Churchill estates/Blanco), as well, as duplex in the USAA area. How can you not like Mira Vista, new complex...GREAT VIEW OF SAN ANTONIO (if you get the wrap around balcony facing 1604/Ih-10). Now that the retail shops are there, not sure about the traffic. I liked it! Although with all the reviews here---different strokes for different folks.

---- yall
first of all the lights at the volleyball courts turn off at 10:15 everynight. Also, a cops comes evrynight to lock the gates to the pool and run everyone off. However, im the one playing volleyball till the lights go out everynight -------. If 10:30 is to late for you to be up then you got bigger problems than loud kids, and the only problem with mira vista is the staff and the ----in old farts who ----- bout everything cause they still live in the depression. we have fun at the pool and party at the v-ball courts. Noise is a part of being in an apartment, if it bothers you move the ---- out but quit bitching all the time.

Looks can be deceiving
I looked all over town and found the place as a reference from another apt mgr. During the day...it was fabulous...the amenties, the quiet location, wide roads, great club house. It has a small pool and small lap lane pool. I was so excited I was going to put money down on a deposit but waited to show my gf who was flying in. She arrived that evening and I told her all about it. We arrived in the evening and the security gate was "open". We drove in and strolled to the club house. We immediately saw a couple of beer bottles at the entrance and about 30 University kids screeming/yelling and playing volley ball at 11PM! One guy was cov ered with sand and then ran to the pool to wash it all off. I noted the older residents watching quietly from the distant very stern faced. We drove abit more around and all we saw were 20 somethings smoking and joking everywhere...where do these kids get the money to move into a place like this? I talked to an apt mgr from another place and he said his father was living there and hated ever day of it until his lease was up due to the raucous teen parties, hauling kegs up the stairs and loud music. Sad thing is that his Dad move there when they first opened and it had great clientel and a year or two later...it went to pot with all the punks moving in...a shame...place has potential...stay away unless you are a punk who parties like a dumb --- and has the brains and courtesy of one!

Verifiable Crime History
Things are really getting out of hand at Mira Vista. The community center was broken into this week and 3 TV's were stolen. Mira Vista actually acknowledged this and put a flyer on everybody's door, listing the San Antonio police officer's name and number. You can call the police department and ask about it. It's a fact. Also, the tattoo-covered non-resident punks at the pool have gotten aggressive in taking over the area. Earlier this week, two of them brandished guns in the parking lot while threatening residents. If you don't care about your safety, go ahead and rent at Mira Vista. They have once again proven that they will rent to anybody and that they will not secure the community.

Well Worth Making Up Your Own Mind
I'm a cautious consumer with impeccable credit for a reason: because I intently research the investments to which I commit my money. At the same time, I know the difference between individual opinion and plain-faced truth; in short, seeing is believing. So, when looking to relocate to San Antonio with some degree of immediacy, I naturally began my research for a place I could comfortably live for the initial year or so. A friend's recommemdation actually pointed me to Mira Vista. However, judging from the comments I read here (among a few other similar sites) left me a little wary of the place. But being a native of the "Show Me State", I took a weekend down to San Antonio last year to check out a few of the places I was interested in, including Mira Vista (which actually was the first place I went). Guess what? It was the only place I went. Seeing is believing and opinions can only get you so far. I moved in three weeks later and, now seven months into my lease, I'm as grateful for coming home as I was the first week. The place is gorgeous relative to most of the alternatives. The location is supreme, nestled neatly on the northern edge of town. There's a sense of seclusion, yet without being prohibitively far from real city life. It shares La Cantera Parkway with Fiesta Texas (Six Flags Over Texas) and The Shops (a wonderfully developed outdoor mall), yet the unnerving business you would expect in such an area is simply and amazingly non-apparent. The situationality of Mira Vista has a way of making one forget that he's living in 350 unit luxury apartment complex, staggered as it is over hills and ringed on one side by a very quiet golf course. Love it! Pool is nice and the work-out facilities give you what you've been hoping for out of your monthly rent: all the things you need to keep the body in shape. Most of all--and this is where I dramatically depart from the other opinions I've read here--the staff is for the most part the most accommodative collection of people I've ever encountered in a leasing situation. Helpful, attentive and responsive. It's actually been more of a refreshment than a burden to engage the managing office over any issue I've had to date. In short, I'm elated to have found this place. And while others, for whatever reason, may form their own opinions, good or bad, remember that an opinion differs vastly from gospel. This place deserves more glow than it's getting, and the staff deserves more respect than has been given here. Look into it for yourself. Then make up your mind. If you're as conscious as I am of having a good thing when you're holding it, then I don't see how you could be disappointed in Mira Vista.

Happy!!
Having lived in several apartments in various towns, I easily say that Mira Vista is a great place to live. You definetely pay to live here, but the location and grounds are great! The maintenance guys have been so helpful and the girls in the office did everything possible to make the transition to San Antonio great.I would reccommend Mira Vista to anyone!

GLAD TO GET OUT OF HERE!!!
I have to agree w/some of the previous reviews and write-ups on this place. This has been one of the most miserable years of my life. First it's crazy knowing the apartment complex you live in doesn't care about it's residents safety. Mainly what they want to make sure they get out of you is collecting the reletting fee if you want to move to the other side of the complex. Are you kidding me? I want the same apartment, same building view. Yet they want to charge me a $2000 reletting fee, plus the market price of the new apartment, and make us renew another lease for another year. Are they crazy? That is nuts. Needless to say. I can't wait to move out, and I will be in approximately 1 month. Yeah!!! I have never in my life ever had such a horrible office staff to have to work with. In fact everyone nice here either gets fired or leaves. Imagine that! Anyways, this is my bon voyage, and I am so glad I can finally say that. Fair warning to everyone who considers moving here, I can give you a list of better apartments compared to this one. Look at Talavera, Silver Creek, or even Promintory Pointe. Any of these are so much better and for a lower price. Trust me I have lived there before. Although, comparing to this place I would have to agree with the previous vistor to this website, I think I would rather be in New Orleans. Hurricane or not. I would probably be safer there than here.

I would rather live in New Orleans than Mira Vista!
The year that I lived at Mira Vista was the worst year of my entire life. The apartments are hardly what you pay for. The office staff is rude, snobby and everything but professional. I think I had to talk to about 5 people before I actually got a straight answer. Not to mention, I have never seen more bugs in my life! I was embarassed to bring friends around and I just hate everything about that place. We all refer to it as the nightmare year!! Do yourself the biggest favor and don't even think about moving there!!!

Dissapointed
First six months are great rest of time is horrible. The manager is very two faced and never is honest about troubling situations. Definately not luxury living and you pay way more than what you get. the business office does not even have computers that work and they have been broken for two years. The complex will keep your security deposit without fail. Expect a rent increase of at least 100 every new lease and all you get is a carpet cleaning. It is really not as good as they make it sound. I regret spending the time dealing with these people. Oh and the people who complain to much eventually get evicted so keep quiet.

Manager is two faced
It's unreal how there is the privacy act, yet information gets released. Your best interest is not a concern when talking to the manager. This is the most stuck up office ever. It seems as if all the nice leasing agents get let go. If you like them, they will be gone in a month. If they are snotty and stuck up then they will stick around. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you can fit in with the most stuck up group. Management was the main downfall to this place.

Very disappointed in this place.
I have never encountered so many problems with management at any company before. I am so disappointed in the management. The facilities and overall presentation of the place are great, but once you move in don't plan on feeling like you are at home with this apartment complex.

Mira Vista SUCKS!!!
Snotty leasing agents doesn't mean its a luxury apartment. The interior paint is a tasteless dark beige/gray - very depressing. The plumbing is very noisy - almost as noisy as the neighbors. Of course, the leasing staff does nothing about the noise either. It could be the snotty leasing staff is too busy losing packages brought by UPS and the mailman. In fact, UPS refused to deliver packages because so many were lost. The grounds look pretty, but you won't like living here.
