DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
This is a terrible, terrible place to live. I'm a student at the College of William and Mary and all I can say is please view an actual apartment before moving in. As always, the model, which is the leasing office looks great. My apartment is half renovated. I have cracked tile in my bathroom shower, but a new sink. Please don't ever have an issue with rent or anything dealing with the leasing office- completely unaccommodating. I strongly advise against moving here if possible. Thankfully I'm getting out before the next school year. Did I mention you have to pay $40 to rent a washer and dryer if you'd like one in your apartment instead of using the building's facility? Then you have to connect it to your kitchen sink. NOT worth the price so please look elsewhere. Being a student and studying long hours on campus, I'll sometimes get back to my apartment around 12:00 midnight and can't find parking because non residents can park wherever they choose. I literally will have to either park in the handicap spot in front of my apartment and hope I don't get a ticket or park 3 buildings down and walk alone at night.

Medicore Apartments, Horrible Staff
The apartments were a good deal when they were cheaper, but now, at almost $900/mo you can get something better for the same price. As for the staff: the groundspeople are fine, but heaven help you if you have to deal with the main office. They treat their tenants like liars and criminals just waiting to cross them and never follow through on any agreements they make. If you do end up living here, do not rely on anything they don't put in writing.

DONT LIVE HERE!!!
Well first off since we moved in here the club house has been under "renovation" but its been over a year now and all the club house is is a hang out spot for the maitnence people and where the store washers and fridges. We can here everything thing from the people above us...things break all the time and are not fixed in a timely manner. THEN we werent sure if we were gonna renew our lease we asked them about it and they said if we renewed our lease we would have to pay $20 extra dollars a month which would have been ok if they werent offering the same 2 bd apt for $70 less a month to everyone else

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
Where to start...First of all, if you have a downstairs unit, prepare to hear every single footstep from your neighbor above. You'll also be privy to every phone conversation, intimate moment...you get the picture. The worst thing is the shoddy equipmant and maintenance, or lack thereof. Somehow water from god knows where managed to leak through my kitcken ceining. Plus, twice in the past month my sink has erupted, flooding my kitchen with water, soaking my carpet enough so that 3 days later, my socks still get damp when I walk across the living room! All the maintenance personnel did was use a shop vac to vaccum up the water on the kitchen floor - they left standing water in the bottom cabinets! Also, one single slat was broken on the window shutters, and when I came home I found a note from the management charging me $25 dollars to fix it. I've decided to break the lease early and move somewhere else. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS.

Inexpensive but has its major downsides
I lived here for two years and while it was an inexpensive choice for Williamsburg, the kitchen and bath were very dated and old. In addition, they do have a bug problem--I had termites and roaches. I think that part of the complex has new cabinets and bathrooms, and the others don't. The complex is in a very safe location and is pleasant enough--so long as you don't plan on living there forever. It is close to everything, so that was one of the upsides, but again, the bugs were disgusting. I also had a squirrel in my wall that I could hear trying to get out. I called maintenance and they said they would take care of it. They didn't. The squirrel died and started rotting in my wall. I freaked out and only then did they do something about it.

Great enviroment
when i first moved out i rented an apartment from conwway gardens (2 bedroom), and it was very impressing. I never had a problem with anyone there. They won't knock on your door and bug you like other places i have lived. when i first moved in i was new to the whole renting idea and was a little scared about it. I moved away after my lease because of a new job, but I just recently got the opportunity to move back and in a heartbeat i moved back. i now live upstairs which is great. i have definitely made this place a home for me and my husband and our little doggie.

LOVED my apartment
I moved to conway in May of 2006. It was my first place. The office staff had sent me a post card in the mail thanking me for my visit. I hadnt heard back from the other places i had been looking at, so i decided to put my application in at conway. The manager is very helpful and seems to be concerned about any questions or concerns that i asked or brought up. My apartment was large and the windows were amazing. The kitchen is huge. The maintenance staff is wonderful, and just so friendly. They have always been on time when i put a work order in... they havent made me wait for longer than a day doesnt matter how small the work order. The property is well kept, with groundsman out often. Parking is wonderful i never have to park far away and i dont have to deal with assigned parking when my friends or family come over. The girls in the rental office are sweet and make an effort to strike up a conversation about life and holidays... they try to make it fun and on a more personal level instead of strict rules and only paying rent. I never dred a visit to drop off my rent or to call in a work order! they answer the phone cheerfully and assure me it will be taken care by the end of the day or first thing in the morning. I have had a peacful stay at Conway and though i did move at the end of my lease i recommend conway to anyone i know who may be looking for a wonderful living experience.

Absolute Nightmare!!!!!!!!
I have been living in Conway Gardens since march of '07 and have had nothing but problems since the week I moved in. Every ceiling in my apartment has leaked on more than one occasion and its impossible to get maintenance to fix anything in a reasonable amount of time. My windows leak which ruins my carpet everytime and then they don't replace them. They also rattle with the slightest breeze. Bugs are a huge huge problem, especially spiders and cockroaches!!! My neighbors are extremely obnoxious and everytime they turn their water on it affects mine. The staff are incompetent and ridiculous to deal with. I have called them on multiple occasions without response or attempt for compensation. I am counting the days until my lease is up.

Only if you have to
I lived here for a year and moved out as soon as my lease was up. My apartment was large and with the big windows, very light. However, I was on the first floor and I could hear my neighbor above me constantly. I could hear his footsteps, the floor creaked with every movement. So loud that it woke me up at night. And believe me, he was not a heavy guy or was he very loud. The windows rattle with every breath of wind. The windows leaked and were definitely not energy efficient. My appliances were old, and the furnace was in definite need of replacement. I will say that I felt relatively safe, the location was convenient, and I liked having a pool. I never had trouble with parking, and the grounds are well-maintained. The staff was ok but did not fix some of the issues I had. Good luck!

Okay living
I moved to Williamsburg with no place to live and Conway was the only place in town with an availability. Overall the apartment is very large although it does have old appliances. The management is extremely helpful and although they may not be able to fix problems right away they do try to accomodate you for the delay. There are several cracks in the walls (which are extremely thin) but I never had any leaks. You are guarannteed to hear your neighboors very clearly so be aware.

I do like that it is very close to the campus as well as the market, banks, and bus stop.

Not Recommended
I moved in summer of last year and am very thankful that I have a new job forcing me to relocate. I have had continual problems with water stains/leaks around my windows and the wall and a MAJOR problem with water and palmetto bugs. The bugs have been an ongoing issuse since I moved in. Don't get me wrong I understand that you will see a bug on ocassion anywhere but this has been a constant 3-5 A DAY almost everyday. It really is too overpriced for the problems that you will have to deal with and the staff are nice fun people until you have an issue that needs to be resolved and then they talk down to you and are really rude.

RUN RUN RUN
I just moved in October 2006...Its now March and Im praying for the lease to be up soon. HUGE HUGE HUGE bug problems, my heater was broken for almost 4 months before fixed, and Ive had trouble with electrical problems and even a small electrical fire. The staff is ok, but can be evil at times. Way to much money for way to much --------.

great location
I have lived here for almost 3 years and I love the location we are closed to everything. They just repaved the parking lot and it looks wonderful. The grounds are always well kept. The price is not bad for what you get.

Don't move here
If you get home past 9pm, you will not have anywhere to park. Maintenance needs to be called several times before anything is fixed. There is hardly any pest control and because the place is so old, there are lots of places for the bugs to come in. Insulation is bad, during the winter, you can feel the cold coming through the windows. Foyers not cleaned often enough.

Evil management, lovely apartment
We paid our money and agreed to a move-in date on a specific unit. We changed our address and had our mail forwarded. Less than a week before move-in, they said--woops, you can't have that unit! They refused to compensate us in any way. They refused to give us an early release from the lease, at all. Nothing. If you haven't signed the lease, whatever you have in writing means nothing.

Great place to live.
I have lived here for 3 years now and I love it.!!! I have never had any problems with bugs other than the occasional cricket here and there. When I called to let the office know they had their people here within a matter of days. The office staff is the best of any place I have lived!!!

horrible place - do not live here
Very poorly maintained. I woke up 3 times to find my bathroom floor covered in termites and they did not do anything about it!! Very bad management. Bad insulation so your heating/cooling bill is sky high. No pest control at all.

Poorly Constructed
These apartments were not constructed to block any noise. The walls are pretty thin, but the main problem for me comes from the apartment above. Every foot step my neighbor takes is obnoxiously magnified by the creaky floor boards throughout my apartment. Other noises (TV, telephone, music, etc.), are somewhat muffled, but unfortunately still a nuisance at any volume level and from any direction. I have not met all my immediate neighbors, but at times I feel there really is no reason for the walls. If the person above me and I are watching the same TV program, I can mute my TV and follow along pretty well. The walls and ceiling only give the illusion of privacy. We all might as well be living in one big room. Therefore, there is no sense of peace and quite (and decent sleep) unless my neighbors are out of town. Management and most of the neighbors, however, are pretty nice. Maintenance is generally ok in getting things fixed. If you are looking here, stay away from the first floor…you will save yourself some of the frustration. I thought I could get use to the noise, but it only gets more obnoxious. I am not sure if this is a problem in all the buildings, but it is a major problem in my building. I cannot wait for my lease to be up.
