"WORSE" is a understatement
Im sure by now Jen and Anna will have there friends sending in emails saying how "GREAT" Cheyenne "DUMP" Crossing is. My husband and I moved out a few months ago due to all the same problems, even worse. Im hoping that the "NEW" people that move into Cheyenne "DUMP" Crossing didnt have a dog in there apartment before moving in as we did because the dont change the smelly carpet. Also the crime is horrible as well, if you dont have the cops in the apartment complex atleast 3 or 4 times a month something is wrong. Many cars have been vandalized and people shooting guns is not uncommon. We have moved into a new and GREAT apartment complex that is so much better that we relize even more so how bad living at Cheyenne "DUMP" Crossing really was. Dont let them B.S. you into moving into Cheyenne "DUMP" Crossing, the do what they need to and tell you what you want to hear to get you to rent.

It Just Gets Worse and Worse Here
So, having moved into this complex sight unseen due to a hasty military move, we really couldn't complain much about the shoddy, worn down look of the exterior of the apartment. After Gin arrived about 20 minutes late to start the paperwork, we had the keys to our apartment. Once we moved in, that is when we discovered that not only was there no central air, but the heat was provided but the antiquated space heaters located in the most inconvenient spots on the wall. In addition, the second bedroom has no lighting and no cable jack, but it has a light switch for some reason. When we asked about having Comcast install a cable jack, we were told that it was not allowed. Not to mention the neighbors that will try to sell you on the Qwest satellite services if they hear that you re going with Comcast. We were also informed that our neighboring apartment was a model, and we would not have to worry about having anyone move in next to us. This turned out to be a lie, as we have had at least half a dozen different tenants living there. The parking situation is atrocious, even though you are not supposed to have more than two vehicles, there are quite a few with at least three cars, so if you get home after 5PM, good luck finding a spot near your apartment. The closet and storage space is ridiculously small. Good luck getting the "maintenance" jokers to properly fix anything. One of the guys is not bad, but the other is just a creepy little troll that has been caught several times by others and at least twice by me peeking into vehicles. You can also count on them having to come back out to re-fix anything they repair, as they cannot seem to do a decent job the first time. The worst part is, not only are you responsible for paying your own utilities, but these people have the gall to require you to pay a portion of their utilities as well, which covers the poor, dimly lit sidewalks, the pitch black driveways, the over chlorinated pool and jacuzzi and their exercise room filled with outdated or broken equipment. If you have the opportunity to travel to Colorado Springs prior to move in, I would highly recommend it, that way you are not stuck in a place like this. It's okay though, I'm sure when Gin, Anna or whichever employee decides to sign in and respond with how wonderful and amazing the complex is, just know that it s all a line, and make sure you come see for yourselves before you decide to sign a lease.

Glad to stay another year
I just renewed my lease here and so thankful to stay. The entire staff is competent and really take good tenants. My apartment is quiet and although the heaters may look a little old, they still work just fine. There is this couple (I think they said they live here too) that put on events every month. I actually went to the Mardi Gras party and was surprised to meet a really nice neighbor. It gets better, I went out of town a couple of months ago. I was worried about a prescription that was going to come while I was gone and we all know how the post office works. When I went to the office, one of the ladies offered to collect my mail and feed my cat. I had to force her to take a thank you gift when i came back. I will never worry about leaving again. I am not sure what other people on this site are talking about with the crime and violence.... I have never had a problem. You can't go wrong living in a place that is nice and the people are friendly.

Great Neighborhood and Apartment
Apartments are extremely popular, as evidenced by their high occupancy rate -- I tried to get a friend an apartment here since I like it so much but the wait was several months for a vacancy so they must be doing something right. It's odd that there are negative comments about the staff since I've found that they go above and beyond to help out. I've lived in a lot of apartments and have found the maintenance people at Cheyenne Crossing to be the best. Super quick response with calls returned within five minutes and problems resolved promptly. There's a couple who handle the events at the club house and they made me feel very welcome. Complex is in a residential neighborhood so walking is great with good sidewalks. Walking distance to two groceries, coffee shops, miscellaneous stores and restaurants.

Teriffic Place to Live
Wow - sounds to me like whoever is writng these past reviews has a bone to pick with management - - probably is one of the tenants that was told to pick up their dog doodoo or keep their music down. The staff here is the best I have ever had. I have lived here for 3 years and find them all professional and friendly and right on about getting things done. As for Gin not being professional, that is a laugh. Not only is she professional but she is someone who always has her door open so you can actually talk to her and not only that, she is always on the property. The other staff members are great also. As for the fence blowing down, how do you think that holes can be dug in frozen ground? DUH. I know of a couple of lawyers living here and a lot of other professional people and they are happy too. I think they are especially good to the soldiers - that's why we have lived here after 2 deployments. It's great.

Not the best, not the worst. I would not recommend
The manager in short, is not the best and not proactive. Some other members of the staff are polite and helpful for what they can do. We moved early last year. After being moved in we were asked to provide some papers over and over after they were already submitted. Months later we where so sternly told again we never submitted anything. Someone else's incompetence should not become my problem. We should not have been approached in that manner either. I don't know if she does not like Soldiers or what the problem is but professionalism isn't the highest priority for some around here. We are not young tenants that make a lot of noise. The noise from car radios at night are sometimes annoying but I guess not much can be done about it but mention it in the monthly news letter (haven't seen that). Gunshots have been heard inside the complex at 2am (two months ago). When we called police they said they received about 10 calls from our tenants already. Management acted like it didn't happen when talked to about it, which just seemed odd. One of the maintenance men has been seen looking in tenants cars twice and my neighbor has seen him do it a few times as well. Management has been told by another tenant but didn't seem to care, just said "he wouldn't do that." We had strong winds in springs a few months ago and some parts of the fences where blown down (15ft gap). You can see driving by the complex (on 115) one large section has yet to be fixed. When driving by I have seen people come in and out of it and a car stopped (on 115) by the opening once late at night on my way to Academy (creepy!). Management told a fellow tenant in regards to repairing it "we're working on it". Three months later??? All of the fence is still laying on the ground. In short, this place is not the worst but not the best out there. I like my neighbors and we have made a few friends in different parts of the complex. The apartment is in decent shape but parts of the carpet and some of the fixtures look a little rough. Nothing has been done to fix or improve which is fine, I had my move-in inventory. Look around more for other apartments if you can, use this complex as a contingency plan. Of course it could be worse.

DO NOT MOVE IN THIS COMPLEX
This is a terrible complex to live in, we had lived there for less then a year and we are super glad we are out of there. Crime, damaging cars, loud music with paper thin walls, dog crap everywhere, and a office staff with a horrible attitude once they get you into living at that complex, its almost as bad as living in the hood or projects. The management hasnt got a clue and doesnt even seem to care. im sure the management team will have a friend write a different review after i post this but what i have said is all true. PLEASE BE WARNED

Best I've lived in yet!
The office staff are simply the best. The grounds, maintenance, pool and other facilities are in great shape. My apartment was solid, quiet and more than comfortable. I enjoyed the reliable, approachable and professional (and friendly) staff. I never had a problem with my neighbors; parking was plentiful and we even had the fun encounters with the local wildlife (the deer that wander onto the property are magnificent!) Cheyenne Crossing is conveniently located near shopping centers, Fort Carson and Cheyenne Mountain state park; but still out-of-the-way enough to be restful at the end of a long day. This is a very upscale neighborhood and you pay for what you get (which is a LOT!) I recommend Cheyenne Crossing to anyone looking to rent in Colorado Springs.

ITS LIKE LIVING IN THE PROJECTS
MY WIFE AND I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR A SHORT 6 MONTHES AND WE CAN NOT WAIT TO GET OUT OF HERE! NO ONE FROM MANAGEMENT SEEMS TO HEAR THE LOUD CARS OR SEES THE SPEEDING CARS THROUGH THE COMPLEX. WE LIVE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE COMPLEX AND IT SEEMS THAT NO ONE CARES WHAT GOES ON HERE. ITS A GATED APARTMENT COMPLEX HOWEVER THE GATES NEVER WORK, CARS SPEED IN AND OUT AND WAKE MY DAUGHTER ALL THE TIME. THE COPS ARE ALWAYS IN HERE WITH CRIME AND WITH FIGHTS. SEEMS LIKE THAT ALL THE MANAGEMENT IS WORRIED ABOUT IS THAT THIS DUMP GETS FULL. BEING IN THE ARMY WE HAVE LIVED ALL OVER BUT THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST. PEOPLE HAVE ITEMS STOLEN AND WE HAVE HERAD GUN SHOTS, DOESNT SEEM LIKE A SAFE PLACE TO LIVE. WE CANT WAIT TO MOVE BEACK ON FT. CARSON.

This place sucks
The longer I live here, the more I loathe it. It was a very nice, quite place to live. Now its loud and obnoxious. It seems that they let anyone move in here now. It's supposed to be 2 cars max per unit, many have 3. Some cars have sat here for weeks. It's noisy, people that live here have no regard for others. They drive their loud piece of crap cars through here like it's a race track for loud, muffler-less pieces of crap cars. I have seen the police here on numerous occasions because of fights. Half the people drive into and out of here with their radios on full blast at all hours of the day and night. In addition to the utilities we pay, they complex charges us an additional fee to maintain the pool, hot tub and gym. Trust me, when it's all said and done it's damn near $950-$1000 a month. Totally not worth it. I cannot wait to till my lease is up and I can move from here into a place that is worth what I pay.

Great family environment.
I moved to Cheyenne Crossing from out of state with my two school aged children. The community feels very safe, is clean and well maintained. There are monthly community activities planned by a community activity team, which is a great way to meet your neighbors. This is a very quiet community that is appropriate for families, singles, and young married couples. Cheyenne crossing is a good way of life!

WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE
I lived here from June through November and have just moved out but couldn't miss the opportunity to report that I found this experience to be great. We were having a home built so just stayed until it was completed. The staff here was phenomenal as was the maintenance staff. The office gals, Anna and Jen always called us by name and always had something special to say to our daughters. We only called maintenance one time and the maintenance man (who looks like Tom Hanks) came to the apartment and took care of the problem immediately. The apartment was clean when we moved in. They had a lot of activities where you could get to know the other tenants and that was fun. This experience was way better than I would ever have imagine apartment living to be.

GREAT PLACE TO LIVE!
We have lived at Cheyenne Crossing for several years and love it here. It is older than some but the staff here takes really good care of the tenants. It is very quiet and very clean. My neighbors are great and they now have a couple that plans lots of activities every month; breakfasts, massage nights, poker and other things. You can't go wrong here!

Disappointed with some things
The apartments are very convienient to Ft. Carson and that was very important to me. I think the area is maintained fairly well. The staff is very friendly and the turn around time for maintenance requests is wonderful! However, though I am not one to complain, I have to be honest about my experience so far. We constantly hear noise with our upstairs neighbors, so I assume that the walls are tissue paper thin. When we looked at the model of the apartment we would potentially rent we weren't told that we'd rent an apartment with stained carpets, we got here and that's exactly what we got. We have no lighting in our living room area and second bedroom so we had to go out and buy lamps. The switching of ultilites were supposed to be taken care of by the apartment and then got a notice that we were getting our electric shut off because we didn't know we had to contact C/S to put an additional electric bill in our name. So, to our surprise we'd be responsible for an additional monthly bill (which we just got and was $115). We were looking to move fairly quickly and didn't take the time to realize that there are only 8 washers and 8 dryers for the whole community. Parking sometimes becomes a problem with no where to park but the reserved carport spots, so you park down the other end from your apartment. And now just recently we were considering getting a small dog and were disgusted when we heard about the pet policy! A $300 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit plus a $300 REFUNDABLE deposit AND $25 per month, along with restrictions of which type of dog we could have! It almost makes me feel like they do NOT want dogs so they make it extremely expensive to deter you from having one. I am not one to pester and complain but can't say that I am thrilled with my experience so far, I'd be lying if I said these things haven't left a poor taste in my mouth and left me disappointed. Right now I am SOOOOOO not happy!!

wonderfull property
This is a wonderfull property. the staff is always there for all your needs, not that you need anything. The grounds are kept very clean and monitored daily. As for the location it is set in great proximity to all the things you could want. You are in the middle of an amazing neighborhood with an exclusive feel. The amenities are top notch from the sauna and pools to thier workout and club rooms. This is a very quiet and friendly place that i would recommend to anyone wanting a home feel in a beautiful setting. The apartments are well laid out and cozy with many new features and lots of storage space. All appliances are new and top notch. With secure entry to the property there is never any randon traffic or unwanted solicitations.I am completely happy here and you will be too.

my new home
i like the apartments here, it's affordable and you get alot, a pleasant staff for sure. anna and gin are very professional and dan is a great guy. If i had to compare to anything back east there's no comparison at all. I looked ll over the east coast, cape cod, hyannis , west dennis, and for a run down apartment it costs about 750/month. I saw it all. bad neighborhoods mostly, maybe as you go in land near plymouth ive heard there might be good ones there. very dissapointing.

TRY IT - YOU'LL LIKE IT
I happened to go to this website today and was astonished to read the rating that was put on here a few days ago. My husband and I have lived here for 3 years and in that time, the gate has only not worked a couple of times. I know it is down now and that they are waiting for a part because I asked the office ladys last week. To say it never works is absurd. This complex is very quiet and you never see the police out. We had a young man that lived below us and we reported to the office that his music was loud and they took care of it right away. We have really had no porblems here and will probably be here until my husband gets out of the army. It's a great place!

This place is so not worth the money you pay!
My wife and I are movingout, this place is so run down. You pay two electric bills, one for your apartment and the other for the complex which they say is only 25 dollars a month and ends up being 50 dollars. The noise and traffic are terrible, the gates to the complex are a joke, they never work. The only keep the office area clean, we live on the north side of the complex and its trashed. They sugar coat the place and its nothing like the make it out to be. I would not recommend this palce even to a homeless person!

Wonderful Home
My husband and I Iived here for a year while he finished graduate school. We were treated well by all the staff and our daughters both loved the pool and even still mention the great summer spent there. We had a wonderful mountain view from our patio and the neighborhood was great and there were a lot of nice pleases to have dinner nearby as well as the movie theaters. l have nothing but good things to say about our time here.
