I wouldn't rent here again
Minn is not very people-friendly to everyone, maybe to some people, but I work customer service everyday and I'm a middle class citizen, but after my lease ends I will no longer reside at Montgomery Club Apartments, the entire staff is Montgomery Club Apartment Community is non-customer service oriented. They are very fickled, very slow to repairing things in the apartments and again, I must say not very friendly. Minn has never been friendly, just to put it this way, I'm moving to an environment where I more accustomed to get excellent customer service as it pertains to the monies that I pay for rent and montgomery club hasn't lived up to that standard, so be forewarned.

poor maintenance
The price is right, but the management is uncaring. Maintenance issues take weeks to be fixed. The leasing agent Minn is rude.

Great Living!!!!
I have lived here for 2 years and I love it.. I was living at the apartments and transferred to the townhouses. The townhouses are very well maintained and my family and I love it very much that we have invited friends to take a tour and they thought that it was great and they decided to rent it.. Min is just terrific and the rest of the staff are great...Definitely the best place that I have rented...When I decide to move it will be only because I have purchased my home.... Anyone who wants a wonderful place to live and who wants more for the money and close to everything... LOOK NO FURTHER!!! YOU WILL FIND IT HERE!!!!

Inexpensive but some slight issues
I have read the reviews here and I would say partially those that write reviews have bad experiences. I have had some frustrating experiences with my apartment but it does have some benefits:

1) The apartment is a nice size overall, plenty of storage space.

2) The price is good for the general area.

3) I really like the general area. The main streets aren't as busy as some parts of Gaithersburg so I don't have to fight major traffic going to the grocery store or trying to get to 270. When I move, I will probably try to stay in the same general area.

Now there are some drawbacks.
1) These are older apartments with older appliances so sometimes things break and may take a while to fix. There were some weird water pressure issues in the apartment. Since water pressure is a tricky issue, we would file a complaint, they would investigate, issue would go on, file another complaint, etc. The water pressure issue eventually fixed itself, I think. Our dryer broke and it did take over a week for it to get fixed, but we kept in contact with the office to get the status and make sure it got fixed in a decent amount of time.

2) The walls are also not the most soundproof. I can often hear my neighbors, especially if I am near the wall. It isn't a huge issue though.

3) The parking can also sometimes be quite crowded but I've never had an issue finding a spot somewhere, even if it isn't the closest to my apartment.

Other than above, I'd say its an average apartment.

POOR MANGEMENTS --POOR UP KEEP OF PROPERTY!
I moved in early spring of this year. Right from the start there was a problem with the property management's attitude towards me as a tenant. Problems with the apartment rented which STILL haven't been fixed and its 8 months later, I can't wait to moved out of this property, its one of the WORST kept properties I ever rented. There's young teenagers at night, smoking drugs in the no lighted play area for childrens. Countless illegal-aliens tenants sharing apartments who don't speak english, neverthless, is not apart of the rent agreement,(to many people staying in ONE apartment) The list is endless, the management team seems to get an attitude when you mention such concerns of security and safety. Which makes Montogomery Club Apartments a HELL HOLE! Any red born american who is a tax paying citizen, this is not the place for similarity and familarity.

I'm glad I'm moving out of this place!
Seriously, this was a decent place when I moved in but it went down hill and it keeps going.

The staff (except for the assistant manager) are really rude. My wife and I try to be nice to them to show them how they should treat people but it doesn't work! Things break and nothing gets done unless you keep calling. I pretty much had to do all my maintenance requests in writing.

The apartments are big for the price, which is the only nice thing. But the neighborhood is dirty. Very often there are broken bottles of beer on the sidewalks left for days!!!

Kids play football in the parking lot (hitting the cars with the ball), the police is there all the time (there was a sexual assault case involving a little girl) and if you go look up the site where the government lists the residence of convicted sexual offenders you will have the unpleasant surprise to discover that there is one living in your neighborhood!

This place turned into a real dump!

Definately not!!!
Ok, I moved here from NY in March of 2004, and this was the first place I lived.
Where do I begin.
First, there are no ammenties available.
When I came down to fill out the paperwork, I was told one price and a different one was on the lease.
The first floor:
The living room was spacious, however there was no closets downstairs to store your coats or shoes-hence when I had company, they had to place their stuff on the starcase.
All the appliances were old, old, old. The stove took forever to heat up; the dishwasher smelt, and the cabinets-HORRIBLE!! I mean, I thought that only NY apartments had metal cabinets!!
I had a very bad ant problem as well. Couldn't get rid of them for nothing. Was told my management that there was nothing they can do.
The second floor:
The bathrooms were nice and spacious. Master had a shower.
Loved the full size washer/dryer

However, the worst thing I found was the poor circulation of the air and heat. SInce the vents were on the floor, it took forever the air/heat to reach upstairs.
Very good regarding noise. I heard nothing.

I had to break my lease and they tried to keep my security and charge me for replacing the carpet. I left in the middle of the month of Aug with the rent paid in full. Keep in mind I was only there from March 04 to Aug 04. Management tried to tell me that they had to replace the carpet in the entire house. --------!! I immediately filed a complaint with the county. I even went back to my apartment and spoke with the new tenants who informed me that when they moved in, someone came to clean the carpet, because it was not completely ready. They settled and refunded me my deposit and 1/2 for Aug.
I would never recommend this place

Dishonest management, questionable renting practices, and lackadaisical upkeep for problems
Definite problems with management communication; the overall manager, Liz, is unresponsive to tenant problems, and is also using questionable practices for people who leave the complex. Overall, extremely unsatisfactory.

These apartments are mismanaged and slow on repairs. When we moved in during September our dryer was not working at all. This was reported immediately, but not responded to. My roommate´s brother was able to make it functional, but we still could not regulate the heat. After many calls, the dryer was fixed 6 months later! We also had a huge ant problem! Absolutely no food was left out, but the ants were in our microwave, our windows, our dressers, and coming out of our phone jack. Nasty!

Slum!!!
When I first found out about Montgomery Club, I was brought to a very clean and small studio apartment for viewing. Everything looked alright on the surface. The price was reasonable for a single suite in this area.

However, the moment I moved in, I regretted immediately. I caught 7 dead roaches scattered everywhere in the apartment. There were also silverfish, and other insects you name it. I asked the staff how come it looked different than I first saw it. They told me no one had come to the unit to clean since it has been rented to me.

Maintenance is terrible. I had my washer broken when I came back from a long trip. All my clothes were waiting to be washed. They couldn´t fix it in 2 days. The office staff assumed everything´s been fixed if they didn´t hear from maintenance. After numerous complaints, they brought a new washer in my unit, but they were so careless that they broke my new sofa.

The management failed to give 24 hours notice. They hired contractors in your apartmet without a staff coming with them. A neighbor had to call the police since she lost $300 cash when the contractors came in.

Neighborhood....

The dumpster is always filthy. The noise level is unbearable. We have a drummer living in the same unit. He plays every day even until late at night. He´s very much of an amateur. It´s a pain listening to that. The kids in the neighborhood are always running and shouting. Neighbors are inconsiderate. Be prepared to get dings or stretches on your car door because everybody here opens doors like they were the only car parked.

For a while, the apartment complex always left a hose plugged so that it was convenient for them to do the lawn/cleaning work the next day. Children has been playing with the hose and walked on the soil. The stairs and walkways are always dirty with mud, cake icing (from children playing), falling leaves, dead insects, etc. The apartment will only think about cleaning when they were being inspected. The situation seemed to improve a bit after several complaints.

Safety? Well, we have police cars here 5 times in the past 6 months. (That´s the times when they woke me up)

The staff are nowhere close to being friendly. The only time they want to hear from you is the first of the month.

I will never ever recommend this apartment to any of my friends or acquaintances. If you are thinking about moving in..... DON´T. You will be making the biggest mistake of your life.
