BAD, REALLY BAD
I moved here from out of state and trusted the pictures were true- WOW was I wrong! WHen I moved in the grass was over a foot high!!! The people who live here act like they are from a different planet! The walls are paper thin, there is no parking, you cant sleep with your windows open unless the sound of loud music and yelling voices is relaxing to you, and the apartments are way over priced! This place sucks & now I am stuck here for a year!!! DONT move here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh ya and I heard there was a murder not even a block away just the other day!-GREAT

Moving
I was told by a fellow resident about this site and can not believe all the stuff written on here! I thought the old manager was firm but got the job done. She ran it a lot better than the lady now. And whats up with the wierd guy in the office? He just grosses me out. My wife and I have only lived here for alittle over a year, but we agree it is a lot different now than when it was then. And I agree with some of the other comments that it fits right in with all the other "------" properties down the street in Grandview. And before the old staff let all our requests always got done, and fast. The old manager made it where we could park in front of our own building instead of walking two or three buildings away, she also always toke care of noise problems now there is no point in even wasting your time calling because I think the new staff likes the loud ------ party atmosphere.

Out with the old in with the new
I am very pleased with the new staff, the previous manager was rude and very very nasty, so I'm glad she is gone, she was a total evil crazy witch. She was more concerned with her own personal problems rather than doing her job, she was very unprofessional anf lacked communication skills. None of the requests ever got fulfilled, deposits were never given back. So out with the old and in with the new! Bye Bye

What happened?
This place use to be so nice and I just don't understand what happened. I am sure it has something to do with the new management and the new office staff, but it really is unbelievable how such a nice place can go down hill so fast! There is always non-residents at the pool, kids that I know do not live here in the fitness center and business center making were the people who do live here can't even enjoy it! There is always a group of people having a party by the lake almost every night until wee hours of the morning. There is trash everywhere, people riding around with loud music, and when you need something fixed it takes weeks just to get the office to respond then another few weeks to get it fixed! I don't know what they did with the old staff but they need to bring them back! The entire staff now is horrible! What happened??? I have lived here for five years and I can assure you I am leaving the home I use to love at the end of my lease if things do not change!

Mixed Feelings
I have had a great time at timberlakes, but when it came time to renew our contract everybody in the office would tell us something different. They were never all on the same page. It got a little frustrating to say the least. There are also a lot of people that come to the pool in the summer and do not even live at timberlakes which makes it harder to enjoy. I love the view and most of our neighbors seem very nice. I just am not sure if the pro's outweigh the cons of living there.

TimberLakes SUCKS
Well I used to live at TimberLakes and I was thinking of moving back until I went into the office and it was like a completely different complex! The rude, dull office staff have no customer service skills and didn't even know how much the apartments rent for!! None of the same people work there as when I lived there, not even the maintenance staff. I ran into one of my old neighbors who informed me how horrible the quality of people in the entire place has gotten, I guess it goes with the new staff! The place now fits in with all the ---- holes down the street! I will be taking my money elsewhere

RESIDENT "HELD UP AT GUNPOINT"
This was after the gates had been broken for weeks and another apartment had been broken into. They hired a security guard but....<br><br>Early this morning, May 14, 2007, at around 4: a.m., there was an unfortunate incident at Timber Lakes Apartments. One of our residents, who was returning to his apartment, was held up at gunpoint. The resident was able to give police a description of the person. The description is an African American male, approximately 5 8 , slightly built, corn row style hair, and a tattoo on the neck and left shoulder. The person also had bandages on his left forearm and on his back. The person was not wearing a shirt. If you know anyone that fits this description, please call the Kansas City Missouri police department.<br><br>We take this incident very seriously. We urge each of you to be careful and be aware of your surrounds, especially late at night or early in the morning. We are offering a reward of $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of this individual.<br><br>We have also implemented several new security measures designed to help increase safety in the apartment complex. The gate has been repaired and is now operational. Please let us know if you need the security code. We are in the process of purchasing a new video surveillance equipment (this was already ordered, and is not in response to this incident).<br><br>In the upcoming newsletter, we are also ready to announce a new program available from our security provider to provide alarm systems to each apartment (with monthly monitoring fees to be the responsibility of the resident). <br><br>Although we believe this is an isolated incident, we ask each of you to be careful and if you see anyone or any vehicle that looks suspicious, you should immediately call the Kansas City Missouri department and report such activity."<br><br>POSTED EARLIER......................................<br><br>We put in a maintenance request the day we moved in. That has been over 2 MONTHS and it still hasn't even been looked at. We have stayed in contact with management and they "lost the 1st request, so we had to put it in again. They also "Lost" proof that we had paid our security deposit. No professionalism at all on the staff s part. Also, an infestation of silverfish and the noise levels are "frat party" loud, sometimes until 4am. Not a good place for people who have jobs during the day.<br>

sad. :(
i also used to live there and I miss it. i was thinking about going back but i heard around the Timberlake grapevine that the new office staff is absolutely -------- and have not a clue as to what they are doing in there. I agree that it used to be very peaceful but now that the previous staff is gone, the noise level is outrageous. I only know from visiting some friends that still live there. I also noticed that the grounds are not as well kept as they were when I lived there. Which is sad considering how beautiful it was in the first place. I'm glad that I'm gone now that I see how downhill its getting. Makes me sad.

BAD
I use to love it here but this place is going downhill. I use to be proud to have my friends over, but lately its embrassing! It has turned into what reminds me of a run down ------. There is never any where to park, the place went from peaceful and quite to loud and obnoxious! The grounds use to be pretty and clean, it takes forever to get anything done and the staff seems crazy! I came in to complain about a huge pile of trash in the pool area the included a nasty used condom and the manager yelled from her office "I don't have time to deal with anyone"!! My lease is up next month and I can't wait to get out of this "luxury ------" I could have went a block down to the real ------ and saved some money, and been in the same atmoshere!

Beautiful property, sketchy service
The apartments and grounds are beautiful, but for the most part the staff is not as friendly or accomodating as I've had in previous apartments. If you are looking for a place to fade into beautiful scenery and not have to worry about somebody smiling and saying Thank you when you drop off your rent check - this may be the place for you. <br><br>Apartments are pretty new so there aren't too many problems - though I heard frequent crackling sounds that made me uncomfortable with the electrical wiring. Also, we had a leak in the pipes above our apartment that led to mold in the bathroom. I've heard of other problems due to shoddy plumbing. <br><br>A major problem for us was the lack of usable storage. The number of cabinets and closets in the small 2 bedroom is lacking. There is one large storage closet in the first floor apartment under the stairs to the second-floor apartment - it is a cave with no light or shelving other than a coat rack.<br><br>The signing of the lease really sets you up for the level of service you can expect from the management - there is a long list of things that can incur a "$50 fine" - that became our running joke. Additionally, the lease makes it clear that routine maintenance, like clearing clogged drains, will not be performed by their maintenance staff. Also, the carpet is light-colored, leading towards a constantly dirty look. <br><br>However, it's a beautiful property - the apartments are well spaced from each other, there is a walking trail around the campus with four small ponds and lush landscaping throughout. Inside the apartments, there are some nice touches, like large tiles rather than linoleum through uncarpted areas, ceiling fans in all the rooms, efficient windows, refrigerator with ice maker. Overall, pleasant atmosphere.

Great Scenery, Poor Customer Service
The apartment was not clean upon move in, and repairs sometimes require multiple visits to band-aid fix things--i.e. leaking windows. The grounds are beautiful, and the work out facility is excellent. The biggest problem is the staff being rude.

GREAT MOVE!
I have lived here for about 8 months now and love it!! My wife and I moved from Hawthorne on the lake (HORRIBLE PLACE! IN LEEWOOD) to this beautiful serene place. If we were not going to be looking for a house of our own I don't think we would ever leave. I love to come home now. Even driving up to the apartments makes me feel better! I would highly reccomend this place, but I kinda want it to be my own little secret. lol (parking is gettin kind of crazy though, but they have garages too)

I enjoy living here!
I've lived here for a couple of years and plan on staying for awhile. It's nice and quiet and I really like the trail and fitness center. The staff has been nothing but nice and helpful. Whenever I have a problem it is always taken care of right away. I would definately recommend Timber Lakes to anyone.

They are not nice
These people do not work with you at all. The people that work in the office are rude. They are a lot of students and the noise is out of hand for tenants that do not stay up until 4am. I would not recommend this place at all.

The managers are horrible!
The people writing the good comments are probably the people that work there. They never give you your deposit back. I have never been treated so badly by anyone in my life. They are constantly making false accusations about their tenants.

Not willing to work with you.
I have lived here for almost 3 years. Only had a few problems, until now where you can't get out of your lease when you are moving out of the area. Pool is broken for the heating. Can't rent the clubhouse. No fax machine in business office and the maintenance staff doesn't speak english!<br>

I love it here!
I have lived downtown for a year, on the plaza for a year and now for nine months I have lived here at Timberlakes at Redbridge. I love the beautiful surroundings and all the ammenities. My apartment is perfect for me and I never have any problems. Some of the other tennants are not very friendly but I just ignore it. I have had nothing but positive encounters with the staff who I find very helpful. The only thing I would suggest is better lighting on the club house parking lot. When walking out of the fitness center back to my apartment it is pretty dark and hard to see around me.

No Problems
I live at TimberLakes now and have referred many of my friends who also live here now also. I think all of the staff (including the manager) are all very nice and helpful. I think I am getting a good deal for the amount of money I pay. I enjoy all the extra's like the fitness center and trail. I don't have any complaints and will continue to refer other people here!

On The Other Hand - -
I moved into a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit one month ago from San Francisco. The staff were very helpful and pleasant in all of our dealings.<br> The unit was clean and everything worked.<br> There has been no noise problem. The area is very quiet.<br> I have a garage close to my apartment and the grounds are well maintained.<br> I have not required any repairs so cannot comment on that issue.

I have lived at Timber Lakes since 2000 and have no complaints. I have had my fair share of problems but all my problems have always been taken care immediately. I have no complaints with any of the staff, and was actually sad to see some of the staff leave. Timber Lakes is a quiet peaceful place to live, I would recommend any of my family or friends here.

It has its strong points....
While I agree with previous reviews on three matters. First, there is an immature office staff who doesn't communicate well or know how to handle conflict. Second, though the maintenance people are nice, they don't do quality work. I've complained a few times about a loose faucet,a broken garbage disposal, and windows that don't open properlty, and when Jessie comes out, I'm told that "it's normal." Third, the complex is not lit well, and I often walk from my parking place to my apartment in darkness. <br><br>However, the grounds are well kept, the scenery is beautiful, and it's relatively quiet...only if you have quiet neighbors.

Good luck getting your security deposit back!
My family and I were model tenants. We paid our rent months in advance. We were quiet, and kept our apartment, inside and out, immaculate. We were never a problem. <br> <br>We moved to Florida almost 4 months ago. The local management promises to send our security deposit back, but never does. <br> <br>Its on to the Better Business Bureau. Still trying to reach higher management/owner levels to lodge complaint
