The concierge is great and very friendly. The management staff are very unhelpful and never pick up the phone. The apartment room is finished with flaws and my balcony looks over a homeless encampment. Two to be exact.

I really enjoy it, good amenities and location. Everything was clean when I moved in and the finishes are great inside. The layout of my apartment offers privacy from my roommates with good communal spaces.

SkyHouse is a great place to live if you work right in uptown or are on the go a lot. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to get to know each resident. Overall, the community and the amenities are what make it here for me. The rooftop pool and hangout area is 10/10. Only downside of this place is the parking situation. It's hard to host / have people over.

Living here is delightful. Its bright, open, clean, safe, convenient, and comfortable. Staff always go above and beyond to meet your needs and make you feel at home. Other residents in the community are super friendly. Plus, you really cant beat the view!

I wont give a review based on my stay so far, we had a minor miscommunication but a ----------------- helped with it. I just advise certain front office employees to treat every resident the same and at least act like you appreciate them selecting to live in your apartment building.

It's horrible that I can't rate this apartment zero out of five stars. The apartment / management company markets SkyHouse Uptown as a luxury apartment and charges a premium to live there, but they can't provide proper security protocol. Recent trend shows that AirBnb / "Lyric" has increased in the apartment while security protocol has been more relaxed. As a result, someone was murdered, but the apartment failed to identify the killer through different resources of cameras, check in log, concierge, and etc.... Yes, it is a "luxury" apartment after all. No other comparable apartments have the same situation in the last five or ten years. If you are a young working profession who comes home late, make sure DON'T rent this apartment. Also, the apartment will screw you over like it's daylight robbery. For example, I recently moved out for the above reasons; I paid required break-up fee and the remainder 60 days rent even when SkyHouse FAILED to provide a safe place to live and does not hold good standard. This allows me to have the apartment until the 60 days period is over, BUT SkyHouse markets the availability of my apartment prior to the end of the 60 days period WITHOUT notifying me or re-prorating the proper amount. This is clearly daylight robbery, unprofessional, and a breach of our agreement. If anyone wants to hear more on why this is the WORST apartment in Charlotte, please let me know because I have a longer list.

My next door neighbor's apartment was broken into and management failed to notify the residents. I was notified when the police knocked on my door asking questions. The way that the recent murder was handled showed continued lack of concern for the residents. They do air bnb in the building and did not take into account that the residents may not feel safe with it and yet they won't allow residents to do air bnb on their own. Not to mention coming home several times to my apartment smelling like dog poo because the smell was drifting over from the recycling bin and my having to clean it myself despite notifying management. Even though my lease is up after I tried to leave they are still requiring a 60 day notice. Then they list my place as vacant and walk in to show my apartment to a possible tenant while I'm home getting dressed and they just close the door. I had to run into the hall to ask what happened. They had already deactivated my key yet they won't let me leave before the 60 days and breaking the lease is $3600. Please just stay away.

How could you take such a beautiful building and mismanage it so badly that it results in a HOMICIDE? I moved here in 2016 and it was great, beautiful building, great amenities, great staff, and that VIEW!! Fast forward to now after Greystar management took over. Don't let the CHEAP RENT fool you like it did me, you WILL regret it if you move here. There is a MAJOR drug problem in this building. Pot smoke flooded my apartment in the middle of the night, pretty much every night since August. Management got so fed up with my reports that they called me a liar, accused me of false reports, and told me I could no longer report incidents to them- just to call 911 if it happened again. The only thing Greystar management did right was letting me break my lease and get out. Read the story for yourself: To sum it up, someone who isn't a resident but does have fob access to the building came in in the middle of the night, pried into an apartment and was involved in a shooting with at least two guns, that resulted in one dead in the hallway and another in the hospital with a gunshot wound. This after four months and over 15 reports of drug use and drug problems in the building from me alone. And the suspect is still out there, presumably with access to the building!! Don't live here!

I believe the murder at Skyhouse falls squarely on Skyhouse Ownership and Greystar Management. You ask residents to be responsible for their own safety however, with the way people are allowed to come and go inside the buildings and floors with little to no verification, this makes it impossible for residents to be as safe. We moved to Skyhouse for the concierge service and security measures we were TOLD about when leasing an apartment. From day one, doors to the elevators were left unlocked, various floors were not locked and were accessible by anyone. Food delivery people were allowed up frequently. The 24th floor is not monitored when large groups of people are allowed there. The concierge have to monitor not only the front door, the elevator door, the mail room, the 24th floor, issues on various floors at various times of the day and night and are overwhelmed when things get crazy when large groups of people gather in the lobby and 24th floor. We have complained, requested, asked and begged for better security measures to be implemented. With the addition of AirB&B units, people are not vetted like we were TOLD they would be when leasing an apartment. There are people in our building with arrest records that should prevent them from renting a long term Skyhouse unit if the vetting system was being used. We were TOLD at leasing that Skyhouse would be terminating its AirB&B units only to find out they increased the units. Skyhouse Uptown was designed and built as an apartment building, not as a hotel. Security measures were engineered for an apartment building, not for a hotel. Residents are not surprised the murder or burglary occurred, because strangers are allowed to dwell upon us for $69 a night. We are tired of asking for common sense security measures. We are tired of asking for improvements and being ignored. We are tired of the Skyhouse owners and Greystar management not taking easy, common sense measures to protect the lives of residents. It boils down to a small amount of money being prioritized over human lives. We fear for our lives. ----------------------------

The property could use some work - the dog park and the grass pad outside the South tower needs to be cleaned frequently, elevators need to be updated so that residents don't have to wait so long during peak hours, and the South tower side entrance could be fixed so that it's not so hard to open the door. Rent prices recently dropped, so if you can get a good deal - and don't care so much about amenities - then it is worth it to live here. Maintenance fixes things quickly if you have any issues, and the front desk concierges are helpful and provide great service. A special thanks to Kenneth and Maya for their great help and quick service! They handle the desk well, especially when it gets busy. Thank you to you both for keeping Skyhouse running!

I love living here there is a huge sense of community here where people love to get together and hang out. -------------- who are our event coordinators put on the best events that bring everyone together. If it was not for the several events they do monthly this complex would not be the same. -------------- put in so much time and effort into their events to bring everyone together and make sure we are all having a good time!!

Lived here for a year now unfortunately I renewed my lease for 2019 in May. The luxury price you pay isn't worth it to to the apartments that are down the street. A new company and leasing manager took over in January and the community has gone straight to hell. The elevators don't work / and are always down. The front smells like piss from the dog park being right by the front door. The staff and the events are literally awful. How hard is it to throw a decent event. (cold tacos last week) not during Cinco de mayo btw. Last but not least the concierge is a total ---- show. They had great consistent people and now it's gone bad the package system is awful now where u have to get your own packages in a pile of other packages ON THE GROUND. then now I'm literally arguing with my girlfriend because a new person at the desk told her I have parties when she's out of town. Just speechless total dumpster fire for 1695 a month for a one bedroom live somewhere else trust me.

I've lived at Skyhouse now for two years. When I originally moved in, I would have rated it 5 stars. Everything was well maintained, the views are incredible, and the amenities were top notch. If you tour, you know exactly what I am talking about as the pros to this complex are obvious. Unfortunately since I moved in, things have gone downhill and Skyhouse is no longer worth the high rent. The elevators are a constant source of issues. Today, there was only one elevator working and the leasing agents were either not allowed or unwilling to open up the stairs to allow for residents to access their apartments. The line grew to be outrageous. If this was a one-time occurrence, then it would be one thing but this is a consistent problem. Additionally, the property management does nothing to make it up to the residents. Guest parking has also been changed for the worse. When moving in, I was told my guests would receive free parking. This was true until it was abruptly cancelled a month or two ago and now I only receive five free parking validations each month. Ultimately, for the price we pay, Skyhouse should not need to resort to nickel and diming us and the elevators, etc. should be expected to consistently work. While it is a great place to live in some ways, I'd highly recommend avoiding as it is not worth it.

This WAS a wonderful place to live before the management change: great amenities, things were fixed on time, upfront on everything impacting the residents, agreed upon free guest parking, etc. BUT...things went downhill. I'll write the pros and cons as of now: Pros: - Units are nice (at least mine is) - Maintenance on in-unit issues are dealt with very quickly and professionally Cons: - Security is lacking (1) Management deemed it appropriate to list unfilled units on AirBnB-type services. When I applied I had a thorough application and signed a lease--I know my neighbors and who to expect in the halls. Now random people (with oft no regard to regulations) are wandering around. (2) The concierge just lets everyone up now. Before, I was called about every person (guest, delivery, etc.) before they were let up to my unit, but now everyone seems to have a pass. All deliveries are let up without question and I actually removed someone from my approved list but she was still let up. (3) Removal of the concierge. That service was promised to me upon signing my lease and now is removed half the day. Further, packages are now stuffed in an automated box (literally just got something today that was broken, so may be biased) and not handled with the care of a doorman. - Maintenance on the property is dreadful. Weekly an elevator is broken (and there are only three with one possibly being reserved) , so a lot of time is wasted just sitting there. Additionally, the front door was broken for over a month. [note: it is finally fixed, but this is more about timing] - Random charges are showing up on bills. I was charged an additional water fee for which they decided to start charging us. I mean, I understand paying what is due, but this random application is ridiculous. - Website/auto-pay is terrible. I guess they finally have it up and running, but for many months I had to pay rent via check. One of the main reasons I chose this location was that it allowed me to pay via credit card, which--even after the fee--was a bonus to me. - Free parking for guests was eliminated. Yes, we're allowed a certain number of free hours now, but I was promised free guest parking when I signed my lease. - Constant dog/other spills in the elevator and public spaces. I counted this week and have seen 4 puddles just sitting (one was there both on leaving and reentering the location 3 hours later). It should be the responsibility of the owner to clean these, but the ultimate responsibility is to management to present all guests a clean environment. I'd highly recommend looking at other buildings in which to live.

First "Luxury" Apartment living opportunity, very excited just moving into the Charlotte area, unfortunately, this is without a doubt the worst living arrangement I have ever had the misfortune of happening upon. First, the location, the best part about Skyhouse is it is literally 3 blocks from the heart of uptown. All downhill from here. Skyhouse happens to be about 2 blocks from a Homeless Shelter, so I hope you love the homeless wandering around the parking deck even right up to the front door to ask for cash. Skyhouse hasn't seen fit to spend a dime on security for their guests. As a matter a fact they have gone the other way, Whereas when I first moved in here, we were promised 24-hour concierge, 24-hour rooftop amenity access, and unlimited access to the parking deck for all our guests. All of those things are now in the past. We now have no concierge until 6 PM, they sent out an email saying that the leasing agents (all new staff btw because the old staff quit due to management) would be assuming the concierge responsibilities for us. Lots of fun to stand in the lobby for 20+ minutes trying to get access to your package that they have locked away in the package delivery closet, they even installed a storage system in there so you can get your packages without assistance of a concierge, just come down with your emailed access code and password and viola your package is yours. Oh wait they keep the door locked at all times and half the packages that arrive are just on the floor as soon as you walk in any way so kinda defeats the purpose. Rooftop access ends at 10 PM, enjoy seeing Charlott's skyline from the ground floor unless you live on the 20'th floor or higher as you are blocked by buildings. and now I and my two roommates are limited to 5 guest passes a month FOR ALL OF US TO SPLIT. I guess if you don't have anyone coming to visit this is ideal though. The leasing agent I spoke to about this new policy tried to tell me how fortunate I was that I would only have to pay $5 for my guest to come to visit me vs the usual $2 an hour 9-5pm on the street. Laughable. New residents are coming in and getting apartments $700 cheaper than the price I pay, which makes sense considering the SEVERE lack of amenities this "Luxury" apartment offers. But for those of us that signed when things were good and pay a premium for a standard I thought was considered luxury. We now have the short end of the stick. I could go on and on about the abysmal state of this building. Will be happy to leave this "Luxury" Apartment living as soon as the lease is up, it's to the point when I see leasing agents giving tours to potential new tenants I tell them not to move here.

I have lived at Skyhouse Uptown in South tower since mid 2017. Unfortunately, management changed in 2019 and have had a negative experience since. Packages are delivered into a locker, however, overflow packages are placed into an open closet and my package was stolen. I was just told to follow up with the carrier, which states the package was delivered clearly. Also, they have partnered with Stay Alfred and has several units used as a hotel with many overnight guests coming and going. Most residents have dogs as well as Skyhouse markets being super "pet friendly". However, negative consequences persist as when you walk outside, the only patch of "turf" is thoroughly excrement soaked with the smell almost unbearable. Frequent stains in the elevator persist but bearable . Overall, the location is good but management has not put their residents first and have not been accommodating.

SkyHouse was sold a few months ago, and it's laughable how bad things have become under the new management. There have been puke stains in our hallway outside of the elevator for a full week now. I've talked to the concierge 3 separate times, and even spoke with a leasing agent... and it's still there. They say they're going to do something about it... and then they dont. They only care about signing new tenants, and once you're in the building they could honestly care less. The outside dog area constantly smells like sewage, and we only have a concierge about 50% of the time now. 1 of the elevators is constantly under maintenance, and you don't even have the option to take the stairs up. I hate to leave such a bad review, but they literally have no idea what they're doing. Everything I've said in this review is 100% true.

We've lived in Skyhouse since June of 2018 and for the 5 months we loved it and was recommending it to everyone! That all changed in October of 2018, when one of the other tenants started smoking pot and the smell came through the HVAC unit into our apartment. This has happened at least 15 times since we initially reported it. We have reported it to the concierge, leasing office, Property Manager, CMPD, and the community officer, yet we still continue to deal with the smell. While they have tried to locate the tenant, they have been unsuccessful and we've been stuck living with a reoccurring pot smell. So unless you're ok with the hallway and possibly your unit smelling like pot, I'd suggest living elsewhere.

This was the worst apartment complex that I have ever rented from. The overall experience was and still is a nightmare. After living in Skyhouse (south tower) for roughly six months now, things have gotten worse month over month. To start, the elevators are always broken, sometimes all at once. This has happened on a number of occasions, where you can't even access your apartment for sometimes up to 4 hours. On one occasion, I came home from the grocery store and half of my groceries went bad because I could not access my apartment for hours. In addition, this is one of the noisiest apartment complexes in uptown. I would compare it to some of the rowdy Southend properties, where there seem to be parties going on Monday through Sunday. Another concern is that there is always dog pee/poop in the hallways and in the elevators. The sanitation of the building is not what I would classify as, 'A luxury Apartment Complex'. To make matters worse, the leasing experience is a nightmare. Our original leasing consultant who helped us out, quit midway through our decision - which should have been a sign to not lease from this property. As we continued through the process, the leasing office was extremely rude and unprofessional at times. When raising some of our concerns/issues with the property, there was never a care in the world. When asked to break the lease because of the violations of the contract, they simply said that we would owe an additional two months. Despite, not being able to get into our apartment multiple times, sanitation issues, groceries going bad, and overall terrible experience - there was never any refund given or consideration to rectify the issues. To conclude, if you are desiring to be in uptown, and are looking at nicer 1/2 bedroom apartments - save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. For what you would ultimately be paying at Skyhouse, spend the same amount or less and live in Southend, or, look at a few of the other Luxery apartment complexes in Uptown that may be slightly more expensive, however, will be very much worth it.

I have been a resident at Skyhouse for about a year now. When I first moved in, it was great. But over the last 4 months it been going downhill fast. First off the elevators are always broken and you cannot take the stairs to your apartment. I work 10-12 hours a day and when I come home I do not like waiting 30 minutes for the one elevator that is working that day. Next thing, there's only one way to the elevators so, when everyone is waiting for the elevators it bottlenecks and get very crowded. Plus, some of the units are rented out to Airbnb so, they act like it a hotel. If you are thinking about renting look at your shelves in the apartment. I was the first to move in my apartment and some of the selves did not have the metal holders so, when I put my glasses in the cabinet the shelve moved and broke a few of my glasses.
