As a long time homeowner,I had reservations about moving into an apartment complex of this size, with concerns about noise, privacy, , etc. I've been pleased and surprised at how well the management succeeds in balancing freedom with respect for others - there is not an abundance of petty rules and yet the place runs pretty smoothly. I have felt free of undue interference from both management and neighbors. I have been especially happy with the staff, which has worked creatively and professionally to accommodate some changes in my own moving plans. Perhaps most tellingly, I just "voted with my wallet," renewing my lease which was not something I had even considered when I first moved in.

This place is a nightmare. If the fire alarm doesn't go off in the middle of the night, music is blasting from building. No one cares about the residents. Staff is young, incompetent and rude. Would not recommend at all.

The location is great as it's close to almost anything you need to get to - shopping, downtown, I-40, etc. But like some other reviews I've read - I too have mixed feelings. My biggest complaint is the lack of communication between the staff and its residents. We've had numerous fire alarms - I've lost track of how many - and there is not a system in place to notify us when it's safe to go back into the building and the explanations are often delayed as to why it went off. And the staff also tends to act standoffish a lot of the time - acting like asking questions or making simple requests is an inconvenience.

Park and Market has a huge problem with false fire alarms. I am rarely home, but I have experienced 6 in one year..most in the middle of the night. Bell Management seems not to care. They are dependable for one thing..raising rents. If do not mind getting up at 3am to the deafening sound of a fire alarm and evacuating to the cold outside for about 45 minutes you will do OK here. I would strongly advise not renting at Park and Market.

I cannot say enough negative things about my experience here. Yes, the staff downstairs is friendly. But about as efficient as a broken GPS. On top of the sheer panic you will constantly receive by the screeching fire alarms almost on a weekly basis, you will get leaky mold filled windows that drive your energy bill way up, terrible water pressure and stained gross carpet. Please look elsewhere to live. The second my lease is up I'm out the door, if I don't cancel it first.

If you love being woken up in the middle of the night by the fire alarm then move here! This has happened numerous times now, in the middle of the night, for close to 30 minutes at a time. It goes off so much that no one even pays it any attention now because it happens so frequently. I'd hate for there to be an actual fire, no one would survive! Pathetic! No on site management, so clearly they could care less about being woken up in the night.

Once my lease is over, I will be leaving as soon as possible! The noise is terrible. Drunk, loud people outside almost nightly. The fire alarm went off last night around 3:30am and woke the ENTIRE building up! No e mail was sent to us to let us know why and it's now 6pm! We were all out in the hallway trying to figure out if we needed to evacuate! Communication is terrible and the girls at the front are full of themselves. They are too busy trying to look good then to make sure the tenants are happy and taken care of. NOT WORTH THE PRICE! Hopefully the new building opening up next to Park and Market will have it together!

The apartment community is pretty young and a great opportunity to meet young people. Very convenient to restaurants, bars, and shopping (all within walking distance). Clean and mostly well kept. Pretty happy with my experience. There have been issues with early morning fire alarms and extended power outages without backup lighting. These issues appear to be weather related, however, and not the fault of the building. The way they are handled has not been the most professional, however., and complaints seem to fall on deaf ears. Gym is small and has old treadmills, but there's a big gym to which you can have easily have an inexpensive membership across the street. Can't beat the location and community, however. No apartment is going to be perfect.

I am going on 3 years living here and I love it. I read the previous reviews and some of the gripes are legitimate while some are avoidable. Parking is usually fine but on weekends it can get bad. Since I moved in the staff has said they are going to get the parking gate working so that only residents are allowed to the 4th floor of the parking deck and above but 3 years later, it is still not functional. When it's a busy weekend at all the restaurants and bars popping up, as well as Thursday nights in the summer for the beach music festival it is atrocious. I had to drive up and down the deck for 15 minutes to find a parking spot. The top floors were jam packed with non-residents because no one uses the Captrust parking. Blame it on improper/non-existent signage or whatever but this is my biggest complaint. To address the noise issue, it has alot to do with where your apartment is. If you live on the sides of the building facing the bars, you are going to hear it at night. I live on an interior, courtyard facing apartment and night time is quiet for me. The only noise I hear is the Walrus walking around in the unit above me at 7am on Saturday morning. This is due to the cheap construction and is common in Raleigh. Can't expect much more. Since this is located on top of a Harris Teeter you have shopping carts sometimes littering the hallways which can look trashy and also become an obstacle. The front office constantly sends out reminders that carts can't be left in hallways but that doesn't stop anyone. They threaten $100 fines but do they enforce it? Probably not. Dogs are all over the place. This isn't a bad thing but every now and then you'll find piss in the elevator. The staff seems to be on top of cleaning as there is a nice cleaning lady on top of it quickly. I feel very safe here. Despite a recent murder at another nearby apartment complex, this building is very secure. Key fobs are needed to enter the building from anywhere. Late nights on the weekend can get boisterous but by no means is any of the activity intimidating. I am a man in my young 30s and I have never felt threatened at any time around the premises. Security patrols and focuses on the bar areas at the proper times. The staff is responsive and nice. I once had some idiotic kids (not sure how they even got approved) move in beneath me prompting many noise complaints. It seems like within weeks they were gone. Overall this is a great place to live. North Hills is a booming spot with great restaurants and bars in walking range and I'm excited to see what else comes up in the coming years. If only they can just get this parking issue resolved it might get 5 stars...

When I relocated to Raleigh, I had about 3 weeks to pack everything and move down. I came into the city without visiting, and had a friend vouch that P&M was a nice place to live. The leasing office took pictures of the exact unit that I would be renting, and sent them to me instead of an actual visit. They were extremely helpful in setting me up with a unit. I've been in the building about 7 months now, and I absolutely love it. The location is incredibly convenient. Yardhouse opened the weekend I moved in, and Cowfish opened up just a month ago. They've got beach music across the street, and there's always concerts/events going on in the lot next to Breuggers. I don't really hear any noise coming from my neighbors, and even the outside noise from Yardhouse and Cowfish is fairly minimal. I've always lived in apartments, so I may just be used to this. I also live on the top floor, so I don't have noise coming from above me. The unit itself isn't flashy, but it's very comfortable and bright. It's a good size, and while pricey, is similar to other places in the direct area. You're really paying for the ameneties, which is definitely worth it. Overall, I've really loved living here. I think it's safe, convenient, and an awesome apartment building in general.

When I moved to Raleigh I decided to take over a short term lease at Park & Market. The property managers were extremely helpful in working with me over the phone/email to sign a lease and do all the necessary paperwork so that I could move in as soon as I got here. They were responsive and attentive to my many questions (I moved in sight unseen) and made the process very easy for me. The property is very clean and well maintained. My maintenance requests were responded to immediately (same day sometimes within the hour). The location is good too - right in the middle of everything Raleigh has to offer. Take that in combination with the team on staff here, and it is a great place to live. Before I moved here, I thought I would only stay until the end of my lease. But they make it so easy to live here...that I decided to stay another 9 months.

If you like poorly constructed, overpriced apartments, and a rude staff, this is the place for you. The location is awesome, and the apartments look nice, but don't be fooled. The noise is unbearable. Between the loud drunk people, construction, and awful insulation, you never get any peace and quite here. We could actually hear our neighbor snoring at night. Don't waste your money here!

I could not in good faith recommend this place to anyone with a few exceptions. I will start out with the positive aspects which are extremely nice. First off, if you are looking at this place you are probably aware that it is situated directly on top off Harris Teeter. If you are a lit shopper, or enjoy going to a grocery store often, this is a huge plus. However,if you live on the first 3 floors of the building you will be inundated with the smells of a grocery store both good and bad. In the summer, you can smell rotting fruit on the first 3/4 floors of the apartments. The club room and pool are nice, but are often overcrowd an unclean. As far as the parking goes, it is quite adequate, however there have been numerous break-ins and thefts in the past couple of months. The noise is unbearable. I would rank this the second worst part of the apartments aside from the leasing staff which I will address shortly. The building was constructed quickly and cheaply during the boom of North Hills. Also, there are two massive bars DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET (60 feet) from the building. This means loud noises and loud drunks EVERY NIGHT until 2:00 AM. If you like to sleep, or generally enjoy peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. The safety inside the building is very good, but I would not venture outside the building at night due to the vast amount of wandering drunks which can lead to confrontations. The worst part about the entire place is the leasing staff and the staff in general. That being said, the maintenance men are kind and great. The leasing staff, however, is terrible to deal with. Without getting too specific, it seems that the only prerequisite is half a year in college and -----------. They are not pleasant to deal with, nor are they particularly intelligent. The property was bought in 2013 by Bell Properties and has had a gradual decline since then. You will be nickel and dimed on everything. I would never live hear if I had known how this place was run. The question you have to ask yourself is it worth it to live on top of a Harris Teeter...The answer to that question is no. Save your time. Save your money. Don't live here.
