This is one of the better apartments in the Midtown area. The space in my studio is excellent, this place has a great front desk staff, cleaning staff, and up to par maintenance. Just waiting for the roof to open back up while Im still here.

I have loved my time at the Carnegie Mews so far! My apartment has a spectacular view of Midtown and its very spacious with a great kitchen. The staff are all very friendly and willing to help, which I very much appreciate.

Carnegie Mews is an amazing! The studio here is more than perfect for myself and I feel completely safe here, given the location, wonderful and welcoming staff, laundry in building, super, etc. I moved in just last month (move in process was seamless) and there have been no concerns at all.

The communication from leasing through move-in and now is awesome. Very responsive and helpful staff. Closet space is great. Kitchen is small but appliances are good. New windows absolutely block the street noise.

The staff here is extremely friendly and always professional. The management communicates very well via email about any building-wide maintenance. Very spacious laundry room. Management accomodated my wife and I with another room to work in when they were upgrading our windows. That was a big money/time saver. You just cant beat the location too. 10/10!

You want to stay away from this building. With a very few exceptions, the staff is very unprofessional and the management team is even worse. I regret signing the lease and would highly advice you to make yourself a favor and stay away from them unless you want to waste part of your day regularly dealing with their unprofessionalism.

I had a wonderful experience here but I would strongly urge you to reconsider moving in. The noise through the night is louder than I've ever experienced and will be sure to wake you frequently through the night. The windows are single pane which doesn't help. After the being told that double pane windows would be put in, this never occurred. If you don't need sleep or have an overnight job, this is a great spot for you. The staff are kind and extremely helpful and the location is convenient.

I lived here from 2017 to 2019. I moved out here due to relocation. Otherwise, I would keep staying there for sure. I felt necessary to write review for this place, since I did have very good experience here, however, I saw some negative comments when I just moved in. This place is in extremely great location. It is close to trains A,B,C,D,E, etc.. It is close to many restaurants and grocery stores. It is close to central park and broadway. Super cool location. I really love that. The staffs in the building turns out to very helpful. Someone is more serious and someone is more relaxed. But all of them are nice and good people to deal with. I personally did not see anything bad during my stay in this place. (I did see some complaint about the staff before I move in). One thing to note is that this building does not have gym. Personally I use my gym at work and does not use gym at home. So it's totally fine for me. Also, probably because of this, the rent is relatively cheaper than other buildings in the same area. I love that. Another thing you might be careful is that, the apartment has single bladed window, if you are very sensitive to noise, you may be careful. I live on 10+ floor, street facing, and I'm fine with that. When I was moving out, I was not sure when my last day will be in this place. The leasing office gave very flexible choices, and allowed me to do month-by-month lease. (Before that, I even renewed a half year lease.) After I left, they returned all my security deposit. (Of course, I cleaned carefully. But still I appreciate that.) If one day, I would have to find some rental in NYC again, I would definitely consider Carnegie Mews as a top choice.

Lived here for three years on a higher floor. The staff is the best part of the building. Super friendly and always willing to help. Maintenance staff is very prompt and stuff gets fixed the same day! The rents I found are cheaper than most other apartments in the neighborhood of the same size. Only issues I found were that the building has really no amenities apart from the laundromat and doorman services. Moreover, the windows are old/thin so noise can be a major issue if you're facing Broadway and on a lower floor. Also one of the two elevators servicing the upper floors would break down often so I would have longer wait times in the morning. Nonetheless, i enjoyed my stay here.

Unbeatable location for convenience, entertainment etc. Rent is reasonable considering all that, but building is a bit old and so is some of the infrastructure (ex: heating). Also, Broadway honking might be a problem if you’re on the lower floors. You can get to any of the following trains within 5 min walk - ACE BDF 123 NQRW

It has been really good living at CM with no hassle. The proximity to Columbus circle, central park and time square is a huge plus. The rooftop space is really nice but needs some work to convert it to roof deck with some benches and plants.

I am generally very pleased with my apartment. It is spacious, well lit by overhead lighting and there are several useful closets. The kitchen is also a good size and exactly what I was looking for. The location is incredibly convenient to work and the subway system. I would recommend Carnegie Mews. My one problem, which has been repeated by many tenants for years, is the age/quality of the windows. They let in cold/heat and do not at all negate noise. I would pay a higher rent if this was fixed.

My husband and I have lived here for 3 years now, and are signing our 4th lease. We have been so happy to live here. Everyone from the doormen, the management office staff, and the building superintendent is lovely to work with, and we have been very grateful to call the Carnegie Mews home. The location cannot be beat- you are steps from Central Park, lots of subway lines, and tons of great restaurant options. The building is excellently maintained, and you can tell that the management truly care about the happiness and well-being of the residents. We couldn't be happier living here!
