maintenance issues

i was in the building that the roof blew off during Ike and here is what i saw that whole week. maintenance staff working with residents to help(not hinder) ALL people in that building with their moving. i even saw staff members packing and moving furniture. where else would the maintenance staff do all this extra work without extra pay. if anyone wants to complain, -----, and/ moan about the inept workers at this complex; do their job that whole week after the hurricane. never put down another persons job or abilities unless you switch with them for a week and see how you feel. i would love to see you do their job as well as they do. sure, there may be some issues with timing, but what do you expect with 402 apts: special treatment. if you treat people with respect you will be respected. treat people like crap and; well i for one would treat you the same way. since i moved in here,if there is any issues i call and explain decently and the problem is fixed. in closing: God says do unto others you.

      DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!

We currently live there and this is by far the worst place I've ever lived. I truly regret chosing to live here and would highly recommend you chose Lakeshore as a last resort. The place is falling apart although it is given an appearance that the places are being refurbished. There are bugs and insects routinely all over our apartment, it is way too hot to even sleep there most nights because you can't control the heat and even with a industrial fan blowing right on me it does no good. The apartments are extremely outdated and I honestly felt like we were living in a condemned building. The girls in the office are nice and it's usually not too long before maintenance gets to your place to fix it, but this apartment complex is absolutely awful and I can't stress it enough. Doors come off the hinges, the toilet breaks, the faucets had to be replaced; to say the least it was just a complete headache to have to call and get stuff taken care of all the time. Not to mention our power is still out from the great blackout even though everything around us has power, we don't. It's been 5 days now and I can't help but think it's because no one has been proactive and the place is a dump so no one is really too worried about getting the power back on, considering the light in front of the place and the clubhouse have power now but none of the apartments do. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE, just take my word for it.

        Don't move there.

We moved into Lakeshore in 10/07, we were not allowed to see our apt until the day we moved in. It was not even ready to move in. We were told it was lakefront and it was not. I would not recommend anyone move into those apts. They are also roach infested and you cannot get any maintenance when you need it. And when you do they do such a bad job that my husband had to redo it. It is a terrible place to live. That is probably why there are so many vacancies and they are always running specials just to get tenants in there. Dont take their lies and see for yourself you have a right to see your apt before you move in, since we did not and I am on a heart donor list we had mass stairs and they even knew that I had a heart conditon. They tell you nothing but lies just to get you in there. Stay away!!!!!!!

          Unsure....

I just recently moved in, in November. First i was unable to see my apartment until the day i moved in, then it didnt even look like the model they had showed me, AT ALL. The front door looks as though it has been kicked in and the bathroom door does not even close... the tile is not new like they said it would be and neither is the carpet. I do like my apartment, it's nice but not worth the money i am paying or what i thought. the view i have makes it worth while though, the view out to the lake is gorgeous.. but lakeshore seems to be screwing people over with half fixed stuff and not remodling what they said they would. Someone was supposed to come and fix some things i had complained about, and of course they never came. i have to say i am somewhat disappointed. although, the apartment is not bad. the company just seems VERY shady!!

            you will be disapointed

Lakeshore, in a word, SUCKS! It is mostly the inept staff that are the problem, along with buldings that have been neglected for so long and quickly patched up instead of actually fixed. You will be sending maitneance request after maintenance request and they will be ignored. Then finally a person that is likely a janitor not a maintenence person will come and do something other than fix what the issue. They also have a terrible bug and mouse problem. Field mice run around in the wooded section and live in the walls. If you want to pay a ton of money to live in the projects then move to Lakeshore. I suggest documenting your request, any request, paperwork, etc. in writing, that way when the Lakeshore staff screw you over (and they will...guaranteed) you can simply contact the CMC corporate offices. Wait until you see how fast things change after you email the president of the company. Too bad you have to go through all of that to get decent service. I wouldn't recomment lakeshore to my worse enemy.

They took my check, and i havent heard from them since!!!!!

I just moved in on Nov. 1st 2007. I must say i am somewhat disappointed. First, i came to get my keys, they were nice enough to give me them early at 1:30 even though they said i wasnt allowed in til 4 but i was picking them up cause i wouldnt make it before the office closes at 6. So i got my apartment key, tried to get in on friday morning and the building doors are secure, not that i am complaining that the doors are secure, but they never gave ME the key to get in. Luckily someone was leaving for work and let me in. I called the office at 9:00 A.M. when they opened and let them know that i didnt have the key and that the closet door was broke and i coulnt not open the closet to put my clothes in, and my bedroom door handle was broke and i couldnt close it or i would not be able to get back in. She said she would put in a " Mantience Ticket" and i asked when i could expect to hear back, she said " as soon as we can get to it". Well its now been FIVE DAYS and i have not heard from them since friday when i made the call. What do they expect me to do with all my clothes, i cant get into the closet! Also, it was my first morning waking up in my aparment and its 8:00 A.M. and people are cussing their little hearts out down stairs, not to mention there is a kid who rides his scooter up and down the walk way to the door. Lets just say it wasnt what i was expecting. Some of my other concerns are that the lighting around the apartment and the parking lot is little to none, and very frightening i might add. Also, when i came to look at the apartments and decided to sign the lease i asked if i could see my apartment and she told me no that it was being remodeled, and i was expecting my aparment to be identical to what they were showing me. I came into MY apartment and was a little disappointed that there were still holes in the walls, dry puddy on the carpet, they tried to puddy the kitchen and the bathroom to patch some damage and didnt even sand it down, so as you can imagine, its not the prettiest site. Also, my main reason for choosing lakeshore was the indoor pool and the fitness center. Well i am sure you can imagine my annoyance when i got my keys and she said the fitness center was shut down til Dec. 1st for remodeling, so i am getting ripped off of a month. which may not seem like that big of a deal, but for the price i am paying it is to me. Overall, i like my aparment but i am not impressed with the service i have received thus far. I feel like as soon as they got the first months check, they werent concerned with me anymore. i honestly dont know if i would reccommend this place or not. i guess i will have to see how it goes.

                Great place to live

I have been in Lakeshore for almost a year now. To be frank, the previous manager did let the property go down rapidly. Since the new management was introduced, though, (around February 2007), the place has picked up imensely. The office staff are superb and any problems are dealt quickly and sufficiently. Briefly, I would recommmend Lakeshore to anybody.

                    they could care less!

over the weekend i came in to complain about a "critter" i have living in my walls of my apartment. i spoke to a really nice girl in the office however she only worked on weekends so she wasn't even aware of my problem. she told me she'd contact the manager and call me back. that's fine. i have nothing against the weekend girl. however when she called me back she told me that the manager, trisha, would call me on monday. that makes me feel like that manager doesn't even give a ---- about me and my problem. i have some type of animal living in my walls and can't even sleep at night because it moves around and makes all kinds of noise. they had sent in an exterminator last week and all they did was "bait" my apartment. what does that do? i showed them where the animal was. why don't they cut out the wall and get the animal out? is it really that hard? trisha told me that all they can do is allow the exterminter to do their job b/c "they are the professionals". that's what she said to me. so i'm living with this animal in my apartment and it's been in there for over a week. i tried discussing this with the manager but she just blew me off. she really made me feel like she has no experience because she couldn't answer half my questions and seemed to get head strung! what happened to the people that cared!? the entire office is new people that don't know ----! when my lease is up i'm moving out....and i'll be leaving my "critter" behind!

                      WE LOVE OUR APARTMENT!

My boyfriend and I moved in to Lakeshore about 5 months ago. We moved into one of the recently remodeled units. Our apartment is so nice and affordable. We were paying close to $200 for gas & electric at our old place and now with heat paid at Lakeshore we've been paying $25. Big difference if you ask me! We have really nice neighbors. Julie rented to us and she's been nothing but nice since we first met. There's also 2 new faces in the office and they have been nice also. The younger maintenance person has been helpful as well. We weren't sure how to use our shower and he came over and showed us and while he was there he made a minor repair to our mini blinds. I thought this was so nice of him because we know they are short handed and super busy but he still took a quick 5 minutes to fix our blinds. The property seems pretty safe, although there's not enough lighting. I think putting more lighting up would help people feel more safe. Afterall the world is crazy! Overall we are happy with our new home. I've read some of the other review on here and I'm not buying into them. From what I've experienced here, this place is nice and we couldn't be happier.

I've moved into Lakeshore in June '05. I got a job across the street in the UC building and I walk to work so it's a very convenient location for me. I'll be transferring to NJ in February but plan to come back to Lakeshore if I ever get back to Cincinnati. It's a good neighborhood and they provide nice service. It's a good environment and I'm happy with my stay here. I definately recommend to anyone especially coworkers.

someone must not be getting their way!

a friend of mine told me about this site so i decided to look up lakeshore since i live here. i was curious to see what other people had to say. i use to be in the apartment business so when reading the complaints of the previous reviews i had to think that the people that actually leave complaints on something like "apartmentratings.com" are probably people who aren't getting their way! i have lived here for 3 years now. my lease is up in a few months and i plan to renew again. i'm sure things aren't perfect here but it sure as hell ain't as bad as some of these reviews. the one about the women being dragged and beaten seriously cracks me up. did you actually witness something like that and not even call the police? seriously! this place is not bad. i'm sure they have their share of problems but that new manager doesn't put up with a whole lot. and i know this for a fact b/c of general letters i've received and the fact that my neighbor was evicted for having the police called on them when they were out drunk in the parking lot fighting with his girlfriend. she's a tough one and you can see the change in the property. the people that are complaining are probably the ones that are getting kicked out! i've noticed a big change the last couple months and this new manager is actually putting time and effort into the place. i've never had any major issues with my apartment and anytime i've needed anything i've been able to get it fixed or worked out. the nice thing about the place is that the faces are familiar. i'm sticking around to see what's going to come of the place. just with the past few months there's been a lot of changes. i think the people that are complaining about the lease and stuff probably need to read the lease before they sign it. it's not that hard. you people must not be getting your way if you have nothing better to do but to ----- and moan about your apartment complex. if you don't like it then move! make us all happy!

this place if fine. they take care of their residents. i'ma actually listed as a reference so you can even call me and i'll tell you myself!

Cars that never were driven parked in a spots for months.

2. Crime. Every night my boyfriend and I always see or heard the police there. I myself first hand saw a couple walking and the man pushed the woman into the woods and started beating her.

3. "Laundry Room" Sucks! People who didnt care and thought of themselves. Always left there clothes in the washer and dryer. I always had to pull their clothes out and etc. b/c I got fed up. It was pretty sad that we had to run down to the laundry mat down the road b/c the downstairs laundry mat sucked!

4. The office staff! Where do I start? The last month of our lease, we go to turn in our keys and etc and get to stepping. Well, we were informed that we had to give them 60 days noticed that we were leaving. Okay, they gave us a letter 2 months ago and I filled it out and gave it to a staff member. They dont have in on record...what do you know. We had to deal with 'upper' mangement and we had to pay for 2 months extra b/c one of their office members lost the paper! Everyone in that office is rude and crude. They need to fire all the people in there, including the owner and get some real people in there!

I'm telling you RUN WHILE YOU CAN! Its not worth it!

First of all, the geese are loud as hell all day and all night, they leave poop everywhere and unless you want your shoes covered in it, i wouldn't suggest walking in the grass anywhere on the complex. They also lay in the road which makes it difficult to get in and out of the apartment complex quickly. The bugs are gross, my deck has a wasp infestation that i've complained about 10x and no one has done anything about it. I can't even have a beer on the deck because they are swarming everywhere. There is a huge problem with ants and mold in everyone's apartment, after so many complaints they finally decided to check everyone's apartment and set up dates for the maintenance man to "fix it". The indoor pool is disgusting and so is the outdoor pool. They have been doing repairs along the "lake" and have been shutting of water to apartments for 6-8 hours a day with a 12 hour notice if your lucky to get notice at all. 50% of the time you do not get notice, and you go to take a morning shower and nothing....great way to start the day! Hmm what else, oh you also do not have control over the heat. They control it, and it got to be as low as 30 degrees in October and they did not turn the heat on yet. So it was freezing!! If you your are thinking about renting here I strongly suggest you look somewhere else. It's way to much money to pay every month to be miserable, and it's not the best area to live in.

They called me up next day and said that apartment was rented to someone else. I had to sign another 12 months lease for the full price coz of time constraints. while i moved out i broke my lease earlier than the signed one and gave 3 months notice. Finally they robbed two months of rent. They always care for your money. Its a freaking place with all junk ppl. Its a trashy place.

I have had several maintenance issues that were not taken care of promptly. My bathroom ceiling was leaking and parts of the ceiling fell off - I have called over 4 times and the maintenance people will come out, look at it, and say that it will have to be repaired --- NOTHING has been done about it! The screens were ripped up and I requested new screens so my windows come be open without large bugs getting in--well they were replaced with screens that were too small and I had to tape up the sides.

Already mentioned many times was the gate that never works. This apartment complex advertises security gates, however when the gates are always up, it offers no security.

I do not feel safe in this area and the only reason I lived here in the first place was that I was pressed for time in making a decision and didn't know anything about Cincinnati.

Also, the laundry facilities are awful - always dirty, standing water on the floors, in the washers. So now I have to stay in this hell hole another month.

Oh yeah last night I got home at 1:00 am and I had to park 6 buildings away. The parking here is horrible. weekdays or weekends.

I would not live in another CMC property. Last week my water stopped working. I had to go to the health club to shower.

I think you are much better off finding another place to live.

                                        I hate it here!!

My roomate picked this complex and my gut told me it was not a good fit but because of time restraints we moved in anyway and I have regretted every since. I have had nothing but problems here, the ceiling in my bathroom colapsed and it took over a month and six repeat calls for it to be completely fixed. The ceiling in the hallway still is water damaged and needs to be repainted. There are bugs EVERYWHERE, I know it is partially because I live on the basement but come on, have an exterminator come and spray, I have only requested this service four times and ofcourse no one has ever replied to the maintenance request. I have actually thought about breaking my lease but I don't want to give them $1300.00 dollars just to get out of this awful place. I will stick it out but I would not recommend living here to anyone. I have several friends that live in Hyde Park and Pleasant Ridge, there places are nicer and cleaner, there rent is cheaper and the area is safer. They don'thave a lake but who cares? I never go to it anyway and those damn ducks almost make me late for work everyday.

                                          Decent Place to live

I've lived here for nearly two years. For the most part, it is a good place to live. Right off Ronald Reagan Highway, which is a big plus. The Office Management is wonderful. The Maintaince is usually great though I sometimes have they return for certain recurring problems but nothing major. The only things I dislike about my one bedroom apartment is there are only sliding doors and no regular windows, and my balcony has no privacy since it levels with the street and in full view of the entrance walkway- you'll have to live in the back toward the lake if privacy is an issue for you. And as for everybody else, the gate is a pain in the neck. Don't know why they even bother with it.

                                            The Search Stops Here!

Hello to all prospects, and current renters.. We work very hard here at Lakeshore to make sure that our tenants are happy! We are one of the most affordable gated communities you'll find. We take pride in the fact that you can save money by using our facility -vs- going to fitworks, Gold's Gym or even the YMCA for the use of the swimming pool. The staff is concerned about what concerns you. There is not a tremendous amount of turnover in our management, which is good!! We are established, and wouldn't want you to live in anything that we wouldn't live in. I am confident and assured that your living here will be comfortable. We are not miracle workers, but we do what we can to the best of our ability. The staff would like to say thank you for your buisness, without you there would be no us. To our new tenants we say welcome home, and to our potential customers.. come out and see what we have to offer I'm certain that you won't be disappointed. The search ends here!

                                              Alright Place To Live

We have lived at Lakeshore ONLY because we are looking for a house & to move out of Cincinnati ("The Nasty"). We have had a number of problems, all solved within 1 day. Great! However, the people that live at Lakeshore make it somewhat scary. I do not like to go out at night. Entire complex is nosiy due to excessive loud cars and loud car-stereos. Lake is nice though. Staff is excellent! Oh and watch our for the following: stray cats, roaches, wood roaches, silver fish, and more !

                                                Hmmmmm....

I was searching the web and found this site and I was reading some of the "bad" entries and I just don't understand what some of these people are talking about. I have lived at Lakeshore for 10 years. Any issue I have had has been resolved promptly. Management is always on top of things. And the office and maintenance staff are professional and friendly. I chose to rent an apartment because I didn't want to worry about maintenance on my house, mowing the lawn, etc. I chose to rent at Lakeshore because I have had friends that lived here and they just loved it. I moved into a 1 bedroom in 1991 and 2 years later I decided to upgrade into a 2 bedroom. I've been in my 2 bedroom since! My apartment faces towards the lake and I find it very relaxing. I love to listen to the ducks and geese and the sound of the fountain. Most days I sit on my balcony with a book and cocktail. I also like the location. I work downtown and it only takes me about 15 minutes to get to work. The only thing I don't care for is the gates. They are a hassle. But there is always going to be something you don't like. I'm just glad I live somewhere where the people care and do what they can. I don't plan to move until I retire to Florida.
