In response to the previous entry....
I want to respond to the previous entry...

First of all - car breakins happen EVERYWHERE! You watch the news...you know what the world is like. The people that live at Lakeshore are nice people. I have lived at Lakeshore for 5 years and I love it here! I've made friends here, I met my boyfriend here....I even saved $$ b/c I didn't have to pay for a gym membership. The office staff has always been helpful and I think the maintenance staff is great...the last entry had at least that right.

I've always felt safe here. This is a nice area! Get over it!

One complaint though....those gates drive me nuts!

I can't wait to move out!
We have had problem after problem here. This has been a horrible experince. Our car has been broken into. Which I now know is a common accurance here. I thought that I'd feel safe in a gated community. The problem is though that the gate is broken 85% of the time. The office staff is wonderful. The maintance couldn't be any better either. The people that live here are horrible. I think they let anybody and everybody rent here. I constantly hear loud music and screaming matches by our neighbors. The kids run the streets at all hours of the night. Don't waste you money!! I can't wait until our lease is up.

Nice People - Great Place
I've lived at Lakeshore going on 2 years. Julie had shown me the apartment and has been a great help since. I've missed her while she's been on maternity leave however Patsy & Beth have been a great help while she's gone. I really like Lakeshore and the only reason I'd ever move is if I were to purchase a home. The grounds are nicely kept and the people that live here have always been friendly. The maintenance and office people are very nice and helpful. I've lived in other apartments before and I definately rate this one as one of the best. The apartments are older but do have lots of potential. They allow you to paint which adds your own personal touch to the apartment. This is a place I have been able to call "home".

GREAT
I have lived with Lakeshore for several years and plan on staying for several more.
The staff is very helpful and the manager is one of the best managers i have ever had.The maintenance staff is also great and responds quickly and effectively to and maintenance issue i have. I love having all the great amenities here at my fingertips such as the health club and indoor lap pool, tennis courts, volleyball court, basketball court and playground. my husband also loves the lake that way he can fish out of it.Lakeshore is also convienent to all the major expressways which is great. Thank you Lakeshore for the many wonderful years here and many more to follow.

Definitely not the best
I live at Lakeshore and while the staff at the front office is beyond wonderful, the clientele of the apartment complex is extremely suspect. I do not feel safe living here. There are domestic violence issues all the time. People are constantly screaming at each other and behaving like trash.

Lakeshore, itself, is a great place to live. Like I said, the staff couldn't be any better. The gym is great, two pools and everything else.

But in my opinion, the neighbors are enough to scare me away. Unfortunately, I won't be renewing.

I Like it Here.
Overall Lakeshore is a nice place to live. Your neighbors are pretty quiet most of the time. Every now & then I hear a stereo but you have to expect that in an apartment. Everyone that lives here seems friendly. The lake is nice. And the apartments are big. I wish they had washer/dryer hookups but it is an older place & they aren´t equipped for that. I wish they could make them equipped though b/c it would make my life easier. The heat is paid so my electric bill in the fall/winter months is like $20. There´s not central air but the a/c units work great. And they aren´t loud. And again, my energy bill is still around $40-$70 in the summer months. Willie, one of the maintenance men, is just great. Very friendly & helpful. He goes out of his way to make you smile. I don´t think I´ve ever seen him down. The other 2 maintenance men our friendly too, however I´ll have to agree with the person who wrote their comments down - they do the job 1/2 --- & end up having to come back. If they did it 110% the first time they wouldn´t have to come back. They also need to clean up after themselves. I´m a neat person & I don´t like having to clean up after someone else. But again, overall they do a good job. And I trust all of them in my apartment. There´s always some kind of complaint with apartment living. It´s a big place & overall it´s a nice place to live.

Definately Recommend!
I´ve lived at Lakeshore for 5 years. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment facing the lake. For the most part Lakeshore is a nice place to live. The manager, Patsy is just great. All the maintenance men are friendly, however they sometimes seem to fix things half ---. My building is quiet & clean. The lake view is great & in the spring/summer it´s a nice place to hang out with friends & grill. My only complaints are the wood roaches. They are just nasty. I understand they come from outside & it´s hard to prevent them but they are still disgusting & BIG! There has to be something that management can do to get rid of these things! And I think the issue needs to be addressed. And maintenance...they need to fix things not just half ---. They don´t seem to take the time to fix the problem correctly. Sometimes they fix things great with no complaints but I´ve had a few instances where I´m having to call again. Lastly - the gates! They are just a pain! I hate them! They seem to be broke or up a lot. I think they are more to slow down traffic - which is good - but do away with the gate cards & security codes. It´s just a pain. 1/2 the time people go to the main gate & block traffic b/c they are too dumb to read the sign that says clear as day "VISITOR GATE". It seems too hard for your visitors to get in. It sounds easy but it´s not for the most part. They should change the gates to open automatically & get rid of the cards & codes. The property seems safe. I´ve not had any problems since I´ve lived here. It´s well lit & no one bothers you. The location is ideal - close to everything. It´s in a decent neighborhood. The health club is nice except sometimes the equipment doesn´t work. I think that needs to be addressed. Why have a nice, big health club if nothing works? Overall the other residents are friendly. I´m happy with my apartment & with the complex. You couldn´t ask for a better manager. Patsy has been totally great. I would definately recommend Lakeshore to others.

Great PLace to Live
I moved into Lakeshore over a year ago, and it has been great! My apartment´s floor plan is perfect for me, and the rent is very reasonable for the location and all of the amenities. I use the the health club a lot, and it is such a convenience. The staff is always very friendly, and always ready to help with anything I need. Maintenance has always responded within 24 hours and always fix whatever has gone wrong (all I have had is a light out and a clogged drain). The Maintenance staff is very friendly and cleans up any mess they make. I have not had any trouble with any neighbors/noise or any parking issues. I can see that they continously update the buildings and beautify the grounds. Regarding the previous

review about breaking the lease-you have a lease for a reason, do you really expect to break a legal contract and not have any penalty? I am sure the staff would have done everything they could to try and rent the apartment for you. Overall, I have had a wonderful experience and will continue to rent here.

Love the location, the lake and the fitness center
Over-all I have had a good experience at Lakeshore. The office staff is nice and the maintenance usually responds the same day or the next day. I had a water leak in my bathroom and it took them a couple of days to get the drywall done but I guess that is to be expected. I had a complaint about a loud stereo, the manager responded immediately and let me know if I had further problems to let them know. Now the gates are another thing. People drive through them and quite often they are not working. This is a nice place to live. I love the location, you can get anywhere from here.

An OK Place
Lakeshore is a nice place to live, but to pay $555 a month and have it raised every year is a hassle. Especially for a 650 square foot apartment. Yes it includes the health club, the lake, and the indoor and outdoor pool, but the machines the health club are always broken, the pool is not a big help in the winter, and they control the heat. Yes they pay for it, but when I am freezing and other people in the building are OK I am out of luck. It is like they don´t turn when it is cold they like to wait a little while and make sure that it is really cold and that it is going to stay that way. It is like an invitation to move. The office help is excellent. The security gate is always broken. It really is not a very secure area. The maintenance is good, and always for the most part on time.

do not live here!!!
The complex looks very nice, with a lake and indoor pool, however it is in a rough area and the security gate was always broken...If you wanted to have a guest over you would have to drive down to the entrance to get them in since the gate was always out of order...there were several car breakins while I lived there and the heat is controlled by the main office...my neighbors were very loud and the cops were summoned 4 times by the other neighbors (so I guess I wasn´t the only person that was affected by their noise and fights)...The clientel is very suspect and I often wondered if everyone was paying the same amount $545 for a one bedroom....The kicker for me was when I had to break my lease for a job offer out of state...I lived there for 9 months and took a job in NY and when I told the office (one month in advance) I was given an option of paying a 2 month rent penalty or keep paying month to month in hopes that someone would rent my apartment...well there were three empty apartments on my floor alone, so I knew that wasn´t a real option...the funny or ironic part of this was The Lakeshore Drive Apt. Mission states: "our mission is to simplfy the lives of our customers in a cost effective way so they can have more time to pursue what´s truly important to them"....what a crock, when I went to pursue what was important to me (my professional career) I was penalized a total of $1600 (2 months rent plus they kept the entire security)..let me tell you how cost-effective that was for me and how much that simplified my life! Do yourself a favor, look for an apartment in Hyde Park..it is a very nice area and you will pay less or the same for a larger, nicer apartment and safer environment...however, there aren´t any lakes in Hyde Park...My advice is there are better and safer places to spend the money that you work hard for!!

just one complaint
This place is pretty good. It´s very reasonably priced, in a nice neighborhood, very close to all kinds of shopping. The security is very good,(but the automobile gate is more of a hassle than a security feature-considering how often your cards malfunction and the hassle of getting food delivered) the apartments are large and clean, the amenities are unbelievable, and the management is friendly. For a large one bedroom on the third floor, it is $555/month. This includes membership to the health club, with an indoor lap pool, a weight/excersize room, and even aerobics classes. The apartment is clean, new carpet, large living room, decent sized bed room, and the BEST part-a long balcony that spans the entire length of the apartment and has sliding glass doors to both the bedroom and the living room. For a little more you can even get them overlooking the lake, which is beautiful. But for those of us who don´t, there is a gazebo and dock to relax by the lake. The only BIG complaint I have is that although the heat is paid for my Lakeshore, it is centrally controlled by the building. You have no control over your own heat. If you want it off, that´s too bad if other people in your apartment building are cold. It is REALLY an inconvenience to be hot and have to open your slider doors in the middle of winter.
