I have been living at Bent Tree Apts. for over two years and found the experience to be very positive. Living on an end apt. on the 2nd floor in the front of the complex, I have a pleasant view and the two bedroom apt. is homey and spacious. Several neighbors have been there for some time adding to the community feel and sense of safety living there. Michelle has shown tremendous organization and competency when an issue comes up for my apt. or the complex in general. Donna is extremely personable exhibiting extraordinary customer service skills as she plans interesting activities and demonstrates efficiency when a minor problem presents. Saul has shown an ability to do a minor fix quickly and demonstrates a calm, respectful demeanor while doing so. Skyler contributes to any situation with a cheerful presence and thoroughness for task completion. Whenever you live in an apt., it is not just the comfort of the apt., but the peace of mind derived from knowing that if a problem arises, it will be handled promptly and well. My living experience at Bent Tree as been very good in large part to these excellent employees that take such conscientious care in the work they do. This facility is deserving of an excellent review.

How do I begin? I have been living at Bent Tree since November last year and I absolutely love it. I feel welcomed by the staffs since day one ( Donna, Michelle & Schuyler). My guests always compliment how cute my apartment is. I'm a runner and I feel safe running around the block. Maintenance has been keeping up with my complains & requests. Location, location, location! Close to Sawmill &161. It is not a super brand new building so I can accept few minor flaws. I seriously cannot wait till summertime so I can play more outside ;)

I moved into Bent Tree in August of 2013 by myself in a 1 bedroom with a den on the first floor. I will go through a few pros and cons. Pros: I really enjoy the location because it is right off of Sawmill road, which has everything from stores to restaurants to nice parks in the summer. Staff was always friendly in the office. Maintenance was always there to fix problems in a timely manner. Safe area and quiet area. New appliances and carpet. Nice fireplace. Locked entry way with code access. Brightly lit hallways. Cons: A neighbors dog pooped frequently in my front yard and I had to complain several times, but nothing was done. The sliding glass door in the winter lets cold air in with a draft. My bathroom ceiling leaked water several times from the neighrbors bathroom upstairs. Pool was not heated and was cold in the summer. The landscape around the apartments was unkept at times. Toilet never flushed correctly. Overall, it was a nice apartment for my first time living on my own. I would recommend it to others, but a few things should be fixed to keep up with the complex.

I have lived at Bent tree since 2005. I have found the management and office personnel to be courteous and efficient. The maintenance problems have been addressed to my satisfaction. The community has improved greatly with the new management. I would recommend Bent Tree.

I have lived here at Bent Tree for 3 years.....After Crawford-Hoying took it over, it improved immensely!!!! I am moving at the end of this month, but only because I have a Condo to move to now, owned by my Daughter!!! The improvements that this new Management Company have done to the complex have been fantastic!!! I am sad to leave, but want everyone here to know, I have enjoyed living here these past years!!!! Thank You for being so awesome, and maybe we will meet again one day!!!! I would definitely come back here if I needed an apartment!!!! So, long, and god Bless!!!!

The grounds and units are well maintained, and they are constantly trying to make improvements across the complex. There is a very diverse group of people that live here and is very active. There are always people out walking, walking their dogs, pushing strollers, kids riding bikes and playing. Even with all the activity in the neighborhood, it is still very quiet and nice. Maintenance is very efficient and normally there w/in 24 hrs. Having full, updated appliances as well as AC and gas heat, is a nice perk as well as internet, valet garbage service and common area cleaning fees included in the rent. I love my fireplace and large kitchen space. The only negative aspect is that the windows should be replaced bc they are older and allow drafts during the winter, but putting plastic over the windows helps in the winter. The office staff has always been very nice, professional and courteous. They encourage neighbor interaction through community events and contests. The communicate very well to the residents through newsletters posted in the community hallway and also on your door.

I am pleased thus far with the treatment from the Bent Tree Apartment Homes staff. They carried through on promises made when I moved in back in July of this year. Had a brand new kitchen waiting for me and a very friendly and diverse neighborhood.

We moved in to Bent Tree May 2014, and had such a great experience with Donna & Michelle in the rental office. They are very helpful and accommodating. We have so much space in our apartment and the updates are wonderful! We have taken advantage of the carports, garage & storage space. The property is well taken care of and we have enjoyed the pool. We have met some of the residents, and their dogs, and all seem to be very kind and respectful. We are so happy to call Bent Tree our home!

This is purely not based on experience with leasing staff and apartment professionals. I am going to sign an year lease. Apt is under new responsive management. Apt looks spacious and clean. Lots of new amenities in Kitchen as well. I would give a 5 star but i will start with 4 star. Its also offers a great school district advantage

Iâ??d like to balance out the negative reviews with a stellar 5 star review for this complex. I relocated to the area from out of state. Being tasked with finding a home in a nice area without visiting prior, was nerve wracking to say the least. I ignored the reviews on Google, as people tend to only write them if it was a negative experience. Those reviews were also months to years old and the complex is now under new management with Crawford Hoying. Michelle is the manager I spoke with when I called to enquire about availability. She was very helpful answering my 25+ questions (I donâ??t like surprises) and attentive to all my emails following-up with additional questions. Our move date was moved up by 2 weeks, the staff was wonderful in working with us to ensure we had a unit available for move-in. They explained all the feeâ??s up front. Not just monthly rent, for all units available (1 bedroom/ 1 bedroom with den/ 1st floor vs. 2nd or 3rd.. etch) but also the additional fee - like the $100 fee that includes water, trash, sewer, internet & admin fees. Iâ??m not sure where you might have lived prior but I know at the last place my water, sewer trash and internet added up to well over $100 per month, so I saw this as a convenient savings! 2 less bills I had to worry about due dates, by lumping it in with my rent. The additional utilities (AEP for electric & Columbia Gas for gas) were easy to set up with the utility information sheet the office provided me, giving direct contact #s to the companyâ??s new service line! Both of those were quick to set up (in fact, I got them set up & switched into my name approx 1hr before moving in, so no down time without light or heat!) As an added bonus, there were no deposits required for either utility making the process even quicker. When moving into the unit, we were pleased to see that the unit looked just like the pictures on the website. Paint on the walls looked great, carpet looked brand new, and kitchen was spotless. Stainless steel appliances and nice cabinets/counter tops! Our unit even has a fireplace! Iâ??m not much of a fireplace person (aside from loving the look & decorating the mantle) but this could be a great way to cut down on that gas bill! The building weâ??re in has an entrance door that is always locked, for extra security, before entering your hallway. Weâ??ve met all of our neighbors in this building (4 units on bottom & 4 units on the 2nd floor) and have been pleased with the fact that everyone is friendly, but yet we donâ??t hear whatâ??s going on in their lives. The rest of the complex also seems to be very quiet, never have we had a noise complaint. The grounds are kept up & clean, there are strict rules in regards to dog owners involving feeâ??s if you do not pick up after your pet. With the winter weâ??ve had, Iâ??ve been pleased with the upkeep the complex has done on not only the road/parking lot, but also the sidewalks to each unit. Itâ??s so close to shopping but feels very quiet/peaceful with the outlining pine trees, blocking out any outside traffic/noise. The staff has been available and helpful in multiple cases, like when I locked myself out of my apartment! And when we noticed a couple boards/lumber in our storage building outside, being quick to come clean that out. Iâ??m giving this complex, the staff & my overall experience a 5 star rating as theyâ??ve exceeded our expectations.

Alarm and Cable $30!!There are no alarm systems at all!! Someone off the street can come right in the building and kick in your door. Don't let the intercom entry fool you! Sure, hit the button, hear the "buzz" but that's all you'll get. Entryways are always unlocked. This may be why they ask maximum coverage for renters insurance! You can't get a discount on renters insurance because there is NO ALARM! How can you justify a piece of mind fee of $8 when there is no alarm unless you consider large dogs barking when you walk in the door. The cable fee is for the wiring, not the service. The $30 fee for internet is not for wireless or the router, it's the agreement fee the management agreed to pay the previous owner. So, no need to get a bundle service; you re screwed. You still have to get a router and pay an additional $5 for the service. Water is $30 a month but has the lowest water pressure imaginable. Trash $18.00 a month for a dumpster shared by 100 units!!! The work out facility feels like you re in a closet. The water tank and furnace sound like there about to explode. Maintenance request take at least a week, if they remember. When they do come, they leave comments on back of an envelope or on a strip of paper. Rental office staff passes the buck from one clueless person to another. Rent is due on the first (including Sundays) so if you have a job that pays within the first week expect a $75 fee on day two! Pay the $11 to pay on line, no telling when they will deposit your check. This property does not meet the quality standards Crawford Hoying in any form or fashion! Newly renovated is far from the truth!!!! With this location being in a great area and the reputable name of Crawford Hoying, there was no need to look any place else. Boy was I wrong. Wish me luck as I try to hit the lottery to get the hell out of here!!!

I started my search for my first apartment in June 2013. At first, I was a little over whelmed and stressed because no where seemed like a place I could call home. I finally met Lindsay from Bent Tree Apartments, and I must say she made the process so much easier. She called and emailed me every week, finding out what my desires were for an apartment and saw what she could do to accommodate them. I will say she is probably one of the most patience people I know, being as picky as I am she let me see a unit three different times, wrote back in a very timely fashion to all of my (many) emails and answered every question I had up front. My boyfriend and I were looking just for a non-renovated two bedroom unit ready for move in, in November. Lindsay found us a two bedroom unit, that was renovated, had a fire place and was all still in our price range. We had to move in a couple of weeks sooner than expected, but the deal could not be beat. My boyfriend and I have been living here for two weeks now, and we LOVE IT! Lindsay continues to help and answer any questions we have as well. The maintenance guys have been GREAT! When we first moved in out hot water tank was not working, we gave them a call saturday night and they were at our door in less than a hour. Even though they couldn't fix it that night, they came first thing Monday afternoon and replaced our whole hot water tank with a new one and it works great! A couple things about the apartment itself: I love that the kitchen and bathrooms have all been updated with a granite like countertop, hardwood floors and beautiful cabinets. Stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, are also a plus! Bent tree is VERY pet friendly. Even though I have not brought my dog to live with me yet, I love how they allow any size, they have a bark park and the office has a container of treats that you may give your dog. LAUNDRY ROOM, I can not tell you how nice it is to have a washer and dryer right in my own unit. For an apartment, the unit is very spacious. I love that the master bedroom and the second bed room are on opposite sides of the apartment. Parking seems okay. I have never had trouble finding a spot. The walls are decent, I can always here if someone is going up the stairs, but I feel you get that any where you live (apartment wise). Other than that, I can not hear anything else. I think Crawford Hoying is doing a great job. I recommend visiting Bent Tree Apartments and ask for Lindsay, she is GREAT!

I did a comprehensive search of thre rental offerings in northeastern Columbus area. I relocated here for a newq job. Bent Tree had the best offer and I love the apartment and the grounds. As a homeowner for 15 years I had sticker shock but this complex offers the best value. -------------------------------- have made the experience a good one for me. Many thanks.

The few previous posts before this were obviously written by the new office staff from Crawford and Hoying. Let's start with the fact that not only did they raise rent, they also added a utility bill to the rent which adds an extra $200 or more a month. Included in this bill is a $11.99 piece of mind fee. Don't ask me what that is for. You have no choice but to pay this bill and $50 for internet, even if you don't use it. They charge a flat rate of $45 a month for water for a two bedroom apartment, even if you aren't here to use the water. The dog park they are raving about is a tiny, cheaply fenced in area randomly placed on the grounds with no lighting around. They really have not made any major improvements to anything like they are constantly claiming but they raised rent regardless. The office staff is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!! They sometimes take two hour long lunches, close early, and are down right RUDE! I've actually stood outside the leasing office and called them to complain and watched them not answer my phone call, three times, while standing around talking. They treat you like you are the biggest burdens in the world and ever person I've talked to here have complained about them. Some people have even contacted corporate about how awful they treat people. Maintenance is decent but he told us he would order several things for our "updated" apartment that the apartment no longer carries because they are out of date? Made no sense but its been well over a month and we haven't received anything. Also, when you make a service request online you can designate a time for maintenance to come into your apartment. I requested they show up at 6pm when I was off work because my dog isn't found of strangers just walking into my apartment. The man showed up at 8am and thank goodness I had the door deadbolted because he attempted to just walk into my apartment. No knocking, no nothing. The next thing we should address is the fitness center and pool. The fitness center is tiny, dirty, and many things in it don't work. It's a waste of time. The pool is decent but is constantly filled by trashy people and all their screaming kids that do not live at the complex but drive over to use it because nobody manages it. They changed the locks on the door to the pool but visitors just reach through the gated door and turn the door knob to get in. Several people have complained about this issue and they have basically said they aren't going to do anything about it so there goes the pool. The only perks of living here are the location, its safe for the most part, and the apartment comes with a washer and dryer in unit. But with paying $1015 a month for rent, not including gas and electric, for a not so updated, cheaply prepared, two bedroom apartment, those perks seem to not matter. I've lived here for over a year and did not want to renew my lease but Bent Tree has taken all my money each month and even with working two jobs, I can't afford to move. Bottom line don't believe those other ridiculous reviews and don't move here. It was awful when The Connor Group was here, but Crawford and Hoying are outrageously terrible. You could find WAYYYY better apartments for cheaper and five star apartments for the price I'm currently paying.

I have been living at Bent Tree for almost a year now. The new Management team is doing a great job renovating and making it a better home for all its residents. I love the fact that they are so pet friendly and have doggie treats in the office! The staff has a lot going on and are usually pretty busy but do a great job responding to basic needs in a timely manner. The fitness room could be a bigger and the dog park is a little dark at night but this is a great apartment to live in and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have lived here for a year and was planning to move when my lease was up. Crawford Hoying took over. With the new management in place, I've decided to stay. They have timely responded to service requests (I was having A/C issues - fixed and stayed fixed) and the front office staff is helpful and friendly. The changes they are making to the community make it a nicer place to live. They've redone the pavement, keep the dumpster areas clear of trash, the grounds are nice, they've implemented a door-service trash and recycling program (free!), and even built a little dog park for the four-legged residents. Seeing the changes taking place and the upgrades happening to the apartments -- they've already come a long way and I would recommend the community.

Was excited when local Crawford Hoying took over. At first maintenance was quick to act and well rounded. Now it seems the office staff has fallen back in urgency to relay issues. In fact I have tried the Leasing/sales office 10 times today, because our A/C has been in need of repair since May, and no one answered. We have put a few maintenance request in but still nothing. The only way to speak with someone is to physically go in after 5pm....to which there seems to be a backed up number of people complaining about something. Hope this helps someone out.

I would strongly disagree with the last post. I have had numerous requests to have my broken air conditioner fixed. Each time the note left on my door stated that the AC is fixed...HARDLY!!...It has been over 85 degrees in my apartment!! I put in a call to the corporate offices. I wish the old management was back!

We just got a notice saying we have two choices - we have to move to an upgraded apartment or a fully upgraded apartment within the community or we have to move out of the community when our lease is up! If we don't like those options we can only stay for 6 months longer in our current unit then we have no choice other then move within the community or move out of the community - We have been here a long time and this is how we get treated! Previously posted that the last two reviews are so accurate.

I have been living in the apartment since Feb. 1st, 2013. The management was terrible when we moved in. Crawford and Hoeing has recently taken over in the last 2 months. I called the new management company and advised them of the myriad of things broken in the apartment which were never fixed by prior maintenance but told they would, the new management team came out the next day and fixed 6 different things in the apartment. They're offering a HUGE recommendation bonus for any tenant referrals and are much more friendly and efficient. Don't judge the complex prior to April. The new management has made a world of a difference.

I have made big mistake by choosing this apartment. Just issues over issues. 1. The leasing manager didn't informed about calling the Columbia Gas in advance of 5 days before I move in. We didn't had heat for more than a week. Columbia Gas is a utility company i have seen. They took almost a week to flick a gas switch. 2. Lease manager told me the internet is free of cost and month later I have received an bill from FBS for 49.99. When I called the leasing office, the management has completely changed. All you can get from them is their apology. 3. You can see the pet's crap all over the place. Apartment surrounding always stinks. 4. There is an activation fee/deactivation fee - while you leave, possibly for everything... though we need to call the service provider to turn on/off the service. The cost of trash removal is $25. So, that's the cost of the things you dump. 5. I have call the maintenance and report issues on all most all the stuff...like Dish Washer...problem with water drain in the Tub... bedroom door was stuck....what not? All the cupboards stinks...Carpet is the total highlight... the unit they showed me had a decent carpet... but the one I have moved in have a dirty carpet.. we can't shut the windows completely..always cold air sneaks in... 6. The building main doors are always kept open... You can hear the noise all the time when people get in or get out of the apartment... even inside your bedroom. Not a safe place for living. Thank god.. I haven't signed a full year lease... I won't refer this apartment not even to my worst enemy (if I have one). The pet owners can enjoy this place... because they don't need to clean after their pets... This apartment totally sucks... please don't make the same mistake I made.. keep looking for something worth else where.....
