Very Decent Apartment
I would recommend Bentree if your working in and around Dublin. It nice and calm place. I have a washer and dryer in apt. Worth the money. Management is flexible with lease which is very important for people who are in contract jobs like me. I regret for the above message. Heartland is a pain. Which would add close to $200 monthly. For which they dont do any justice. The Connor group has a tie up with them The List of appt they own or managed. http://www.theconnorgrp.com/communities.aspx Beware I recommend a extended stay rather than Bentree and its co ..

If you are looking for Dublin or Worthington schools near Sawmill area then this apartments are good for you. As many others wrote these apartments are very old....we moved in 2 years back just because of the schools. We had some issues but the maintenance guys were quick to fix them. The only problem is the management keeps on changing and every time you go there you see new faces and have to explain your problem again. Over all we are paying too high Rent for very very old apartments.

Good place to live
Overall I find Bent Tree Apartments has been a good place to live. They are good size apartments in a safe neighborhood. They are a little pricey & maintenance is very slow about fixing things. But overall I have enjoyed my time here.

Rent is too high
The place was FILTHY when we moved in, as if no one had cleaned in months. We had several maintenance issues that took about 6 weeks to repair, including installation of a new refigerator, replacment of a leaking garbage disposal, fixing broken patio door, and fixing leaking toilet. The rent is way too high. We spoke with one of our neighbors and he pays $125 less per month for the same lay-out. The appliances are as old as the units...dating back to the late 80's. They need to renovate! Also, the water bill is ridiculously high; everyone pays about $75/month on top of gas and electric. We are ready for our lease to end.

There have been numerous management changes in the 9 months that we have lived there. When you make a complaint to the management or make arrangements for something...the new management doesn't know anything about it..it gets very frustrating. They are listed/ advertised as luxery apartments, but they are not very special. Also they get you in there by giving you a very good lease agreement, but when it comes time to renew, the rent goes up substantially ($100-$150). I do still like it here and plan to stay..it is just a few things that make make a tenant frustrated.

Horrible maintenance and customer service
We have had issue after issue since moving into our apartment. Within the first month of moving in, our kitchen sink leaked and the garbage disposal stopped working. It took numerous calls, numerous walks to the main office, many headaches and 2.5 months for them to send someone over here to fix the issue. Shortly after the issue with our kitchen sink, the mircrowave door cracked and practically fell off its hinges. The microwave is an extra expense because it is supplied by Bent Tree as an extra amenity (just explaining why we didn't just go buy a new microwave). We requested a replacement microwave and did not receive one for approximately a month! You dont realize how much you use your microwave until you no longer have one that works!! In February, the blower on our furnace blew up. We called and reported we had no heat, something on our furnace blew up and smoke was in our apartment. It was freezing outside but they didn't fix our furance until 2 days later! Just this weekend we went out of town for a few days. We arrive back to our apartment on Sunday evening (approximately 7:30pm) to find that we have NO WATER! There was no signs on our doors to alert us of the water issue, we did not receive an email or a phone call! We show up and plan to have a relaxing night before work the next morning but can't because WE HAVE NO WATER! We had heard prior to moving to this apartment that the place is great until something goes wrong and then you can't get a return call or get anything fixed. We didn't realize how bad it would actually be until we lived it. We do NOT recommmend Bent Tree Apartments.

Not Luxury Apt.
Price of rent is high. Hidden cost that change during the lease term (ex. added Pest Control Fees). Management is constantly changing and never seems to get better. You have to call 6-7 times before they will come and attempt to fix things, which never get completed correctly or in a timely manner. They don't follow up with maintenance requests nor do they tell you when they have been in your apt. They allow pets but clearly do not take necessary repairs to the apt. when a pet owner moves out. Nor do they monitor the cleanup of the pets waste outside. I can't wait for my lease to be up so I can get out! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!

C- Living at Best
This apartment complex is old and out dated. Appliances are junk and run down. The only thing this place has going for them is the location. There are better apartments out there with better value.Keep searching but if you decide to stay here, negotiate with them. They will fold to your demands because they can't keep the place full.

Not a good value
The main door to my building has been broken for over a month. My front door seal does not work properly and the door partially opens every time any of the residents of the other 7 apartments go through the main door. I hear all noises from the hallway. The garages are not weatherproofed. Management changes frequently and one must resort to writing a letter in order to get some issues resolved. There is also a common electric/sewer/garbage/pest control fee that runs about $80/month for the large apartment, something the staff minimized during the lease review. So figure on paying about 10% more than your rent when accounting for this mandatory fee. Much of the outside lighting does not work, including the light to one of the main street entrances, making it difficult to see where to turn in at night. The exercise room is not well-maintained at all. People walk their dogs and don't pick up after them even though the apartment community has rules regarding dog waste pick up. I have to keep a separate pair of shoes to walk my dogs (which I clean up after) because of the amount of dog waste on the property grounds. There are ample dog waste bins, but they are not emptied regularly and are constantly overflowing.

Not the best place I have lived.
The apartment was dirty and many things were not functional. I continue to find things that will not work. The repairs are slow to get done. I cannot recommend it.

Issues with the apartment were never taken care of in a timely manner. When asked to fix things the managers and the maintenance staff seemed unconcerned. My bathroom was left with a broken toilet for two days and when it was eventually fixed he maintenance staff left a large mess that I was responsible for cleaning up. I am stuck in a lease that was not worth it and am paying for rent when I no longer chose to be there because of how I was treated.

Not a luxury apartment anymore
Apt. was dirty when we moved in. Was not told of the $60-$70 Sewer, trash, common electric, pest control fees. Many outside lights not working, cars broken into. Had to call many times to get things fixed due to the staff not writing down or checking up on work orders. Can hear other tenants, loud at times. Like the layout and space and maintenance was pretty good, but apt. is falling apart, cracks in walls, faucets old and crumbling, management not keeping the buildings up to a luxury standard. Moving out at the end of our lease.

dont rent here
I will be glad to move out. When we did are walk through after we signed the lease we found about 20 things that needed fixed. They told us they would have them fixed with in a week. well here we are 9 months in and still not fixed. They say they are a luxury apartment well let me tell you they are far from that. I would not recommend this to no one you can find somewhere else that is cheaper and nicer

Safe and Friendly Place
I, unexpecetedly had to move within a month and my credit wasn't the greatest due to a divorce. The staff at Bent Tree worked with me and were pleasant to deal with. I've been living here for 2 years now. Thank you!

Neither hot nor cold
When we moved in, there were many problems. The front office switched staff every other week, our place was barely cleaned, we couldn't move in on the date they told us since the carpet was being replaced, and there were multiple problems with the apartment. However, we stuck it out, being new to the area and having no other way to go. It got better. Our front office staff is great, the area is prime and safe, and nearly all problems were corrected quickly and efficiently. My only current complaint is that the Heartland bill (for water, shared electric, and what they call "pest control") is ridiculous. I don't think that Bent tree should be quickly dismissed by any means, but if you could pay more, do go somewhere else. On a second note, the Heartland Regional company should be shot out of the economy. They're service is sub-par (the ants, spiders, and various things in my apartment can attest to that), they charge too much, and when was the last time a legitimate company charged a credit card fee of $3???? I think that Bent Tree should drop them...they're bringing down value

Good and safe place to rent, great floorplans, beautiful layout but high utility bills
I have seen few really negative reviews. I really liked the floor plans and the layout of the complex - this is the best layout with green trees I have seen around at least in Dublin area for the monthly rent they offer. I agree the utility bills are separate but if you go to other Apartments you would end up paying more monthly rent and less amount of utility bills(so that finally adds up to the same amount). As far as safety is concerned, these apartments are very safe - I am staying here since 2005 and havnt seen any safety issues. Well, it can become little noisy with kids running around(I have seen that in the single family house communities as well) There are lot of families with kids staying here - you would also come across college students and old people as well. I dont see any problem staying here at Bent Tree except the utility bills. Well they need to have spring and summer landscaping done with beautiful flowers

Ditto to all the other negative reviews, Please read these are not isolated experiences.
One of the greatest moments of the last year was finally moving out of Bent Tree. Oh where to start... when we applied we were quoted one price, but right before move-in the price magically went up. When we moved in the apartment we got was no where near the quality of the apartment we viewed. The kitchen counters, bathrooms, and floors were all worn down. The laundry room still had previous tenets abandoned equipment and the washer/dryer area was not cleaned much at all. We found old underwear in there! The area doesn't look too bad at first glance, but there are some messy people in the area. Particularly, and please do not call me a racist, there is a large foreign population that just represents a mammoth culture clash. Our neighbors regularly stacked a bag or two of trash on their porch and had a gazillion kids toys around the outside porch and under the stairwell. The worst part quite honestly was the smell. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the smell of curry permeated our apartment, our porch, and the shared hallway (because they would air out their apartments by leaving their front doors open). The other part was the yelling, I wouldn't be surprised if our neighbor went nuts and killed their family. I don't understand what they are yelling but it loud and usually involves a lot of banging. The garage we rented was in horrid shape. We requested to have it cleaned or at least swept out but it never happened. It was full of mud, old leaves, cobwebs galore, and whenever it rained heavily... worms. It was obvious the complex did not inspect the garage between tenets (I hope) because I can't imagine handing that off to someone for $50 bucks a month. As far as the charges, the 'water' bill is a horrendous scam. I know this because I have a ton of friends and family in the area with much, much lower bills. It is billed through a 3rd party 'power company' Heartland Regional or something of the sort. Our average water bill was $75-85 per month. That is for two people, and we would consider ourselves fairly eco-conscious (our avg. electric bill was $50 and gas $30-40 so both combined usually were less than the water bill). The line item break down on the water bill: about $7-10 for actual water usage(!) a $10.95 monthly administrative fee (THEY CHARGED US $11 A MONTH TO SEND US THE BILL ?!?!?!?!) and various charges like shared electric, sewage (always $20 or more!) and trash. If you plan to move in, consider your rent about $75 higher just for the water bill that I personally believe BT gets a cut of the bill. We've had roof leaks, they have been pretty quick to stop them, but did nothing about the discolored ceiling. Almost everyone in our building left as soon as their lease ended, all voicing similar complaints. The best (or is it worst) part of the whole experience was when it was time to renew or move. BT forces you to renegotiate your lease and you cannot go month to month. They told us that if we wanted to stay it would be $100 more for the same apartment, and an extra $50 a month if we wanted the apartment to get updated. HA! to that, I can't imagine to many people stay past one lease.

Hidden charges
Just an FYI - When I moved in to my apartment, I asked what the average water/sewer bill would be, and I was told $20. However, I was not told that, in addition, I would also be charged, EVERY MONTH, a trash charge of $19.88, a pest control fee of $10.99, and an administrative fee of $10.95.

WHAT A DUMP
This place is a dump. Its expensive, they charge you things in the lease you won't get back, the utilities are high and it might as well be called "Little India." Oh yeah...its stinks. Literally...it smells terrible in the halls from all the enthic cooking. Go to Shadown Lakes off of Linworth Road. They are older townhomes with better rent, staff and gounds.

DO NOT LIVE HERE
I'd like to start off by saying if I were to write all of the complaints I had with this apartment complex it would take 3 pages, so I will give you the worst of my complaints in a list. -over priced small apartments -cars get broken into in parking lot -take for ever on maintenance claims. Had a leaking storage unit for over 5 months before it got fix poorly! Spare bedroom was my storage. -they dont return phone calls -they make you pay a non refundable deposit. if you want a pet they make you pay an addition deposit which they then take money out of for non-pet related damage. For example they took money out of my pet deposit for a broken door knob and a door which was missing half its frame that was like that when I moved in. -It took them almost 4 months to return my pet deposit. After atleast 15 plus phone calls, two walk in visits, and giving them my new address 10 times, they still sent my deposit TWICE to the address that I lived in at their complex!(no sarchasim) DO NOT LIVE HERE

UMMMM not coming back
We visited yesterday, Thursday and they were nice. We seen the biggest 2/2 floor plan. They would definately fit our things but we definately need more storage. The two ladies worked some deal for a garage free BUT upon reading the negative reviews, (which we take highly) we are not signing anything. Besides we are going elsewhere that's only 29$ more and it's ALL electric. So thanks for the reviews but we really didn't appreciate the persistence and hustled feeling. Thanks but no thanks and 799 for 1000sq ft is a joke, 1600sq ft for $829 is up my alley somewhere else and there's a finished basement. Good luck peeps! Thanks BUT NO THANKS!

So Glad I Moved
I moved in back in 2004, at that time the manager was this wonderful man who was so warm and inviting. Then he left. For the next four years there were 5! different managers. The last one was good but I'm sure she's not there anymore. I was an ideal tenant, in four years I only paid late once. How was I rewarded? By having my rent raised by $50 the last renewal time. I decided not to renew. They were going to ask me to pay $735 for a one bedroom with a den. When I first started living there I was paying $624..........yes more than $100 increase in 4 years.......I'm so glad I moved. I lived downstairs and it didn't matter who lived upstairs, it was loud! Also, beware of the $2,000 fee if you break your lease.....luckily I didn't fall for that one. And in the last year I started having to pay for "common electric", aka the lights to light the parking lot....OUTRAGEOUS!
