Not as it appears
This was our 3rd Greystar property. We had bad experiences with one other but decided to give them another try. I’m certainly sorry we did. Love the location however everything is not as it appears. We were there 2+ years and had been told things that later turned out to be false. A good example is the gate entry that is mentioned. Just know those have been out since June or July 2023. I don’t see a supply problem anywhere except at Waterwalk. It took an entire year to get new pool furniture. When it finally came in it took a month to get them out at the pool. The manager is rarely seen out of the office. The people are nice to your face but do nothing after you walk away. Look closely… all the broken down spouts outside, dying bushes and weedy grass. The maintenance has greatly declined since moving in 2 years ago. Also, if you decide to sign a lease read it thoroughly and get EVERYTING in writing.

Everyone works very hard to make this a nice place to live. We have had some door entry problems recently which I understand is a parts issue. Everyone will be happy when the door codes are repaired … most are working but not all.

Our 2 year stay at Waterwalk has exceeded our expectations. The facilities are first class, the location is in walking distance to stores, restaurants and parks. The Staff is very friendly, efficient and professional. We have enjoyed our stay here in the Shelter Cove area.

My concerns about security of the phase 2 building is due to the length of time the security gates have been inoperable. That leaves the garage accessible to the general public. I am also concerned that many of the codes for using the key pads were disabled without prior notice to residents.

The garage gates have been broken for months. Please fix them so we can feel like we have a secure complex again. Also fix the gate near the pool. This 201 character requirement is silly. Wonderful community of neighbors, a lot to do on the Island. Social activities by the staff are enjoyable. Ongoing issues with irresponsible dog owners, doors that do not work properly, bricks and cement areas badly need power washing.

My maintenance problem has not been resolved, although I am told a solution is in progress. Every day or two, I find another hole in my porch screen (from squirrels). I’m creating makeshift barriers with cutting boards, baking sheets, picture frames, etc. Other issues with the entrance gate, which has been open for a few weeks, and perpetually broken exit doors compromise safety.

I have enjoyed my first year in my new home. All of the staff are extremely helpful and responsive. The apartments are spacious and very comfortable. I love having a covered parking space on my floor. All the amenities are wonderful. The pool, gym room and common room are nice.

Waterwalk might just be the best place to call home on the whole island. It has an unbeatable location close to so many things. It is well-built, clean, quiet and has beautiful views of the marsh and parks. Not to mention professional and personable staff/management, and friendly neighbors. So far I love it here!

The Staff at Watersalk are absolutely wonderful!!! In particular, Sheila and Rebekka are amazingly kind, efficient, and always focused on helping residents!!! Maintenance has always been friendly and efficient!!!

This is truly our home. The apartment is well designed, comfortable, and perfect for having family and friends over. The office and maintainance staffs care about the community and are always helpful. Whenever we have had a concern , their response is always timely. We have made friends here, and we enjoy the scheduled social events.

Overall WaterWalk is a welcoming and comfortable community. The members of the staff are professional and responsive. My only concern is that it is probably time for a significant refresh (i.e. painting, etc.) of hallways and common areas.

Alexus - concierge
Alexus is amazing, she does great with the residents and events! Her flower arrangements are always top tier and she always gets you the things you need/ information needed if you’re new to the area. So thankful for her!

CONVIENIENT TO ALL NEEDED STORES ,ENTERTAINMENT,EATERIES,PARKS,COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES,AND ALMOST ALL THE NECESSITIES I NEED. I FIND IT VERY ACCESSIBLE FOR MY REQUIREMENTS AT THIS TIME. I HAVE TO USE A WAKER OR WHEELCHAIR FOR TRANSPORTATION MOST OF THE TIME SO THIS IS A VERY SUITABLE IN MEETING ALL I NEEDS.

Wonderful place to live & enjoy the island, interesting people and respectable USMilitary Veteran’s Park, fun variety of community events, music park, great views, and many special surprises planned for residents/guests to relax and recreate. Residents well-vetted in today’s diverse world. Fabulous wildlife, upscale marina, and boating! I love living here!

WaterWalk has been an excellent place to make my home. The responsiveness of the staff significantly enhances the experience of living here. My only concern is that after having been open for four years, the hallways and public areas are in need of repainting, and possibly some areas need to be replaced.

We are satisfied with everyone here. Very professional and very helpful. Only wish the rent had not increased so much. But hopefully it will not be over the top in the coming years. Maintenance men are excellent and get to us in a timely manner. Thank you.

Newer community in Hilton Head area. Waiting list is challenging process. Resident moved out of 1BR in building in June but must gave had lease until August. Community kept unit vacant for this period while having a wait list. Does not make sense.

I rated Maintenance with 1 star because they did not complete this work request. They normally do very good work. I am quite satisfied in this apartment complex, and find the building and the administration quite top noth.
