No place like home....
I've been at Fox Lake for several years and love it. The (long-term) office staff is wonderful. It's nice to call them or go into the office and see the same faces. The maintainance staff is awesome! They are always in the same day or the next when I call in a maint. request. I couldn't ask for a better place to live. I can't believe the rent isn't any higher. I once looked at other properties that were older than or built about the same time as Fox Lake, and the rents are much higher. Fox Lake has so much to offer me and my family. The sprinkler system gives me a secure feeling of the protection of my family. The bedrooms are really roomy. And, where do I begin about the amenities? They're wonderful. My kids love the pools, playground and lake. The wildlife in the lake brings alot of enjoyment to us. Fox Lake is also very convenient to where we work, the schools our kids attend and shopping.
All I've got to say is, there is no place like home at Fox Lake Condominiums!

Could be better, But overall good
Fox Lake is a very nice apartment complex. I would reccomed it for anyone who needs a place in West Knoxville. The staff is very friendly and the pond nearby is a nice treat. It is in a flood prone area, but units are rarely affected. The main problem here is the PARKING. Too many residents not enough space. If you do rent here expect to pay a lot and park far away.

Good Place to Live
Overall this has been a great place to live except for a couple minor problems. There is sometimes trash in the pond behind the dumpster and it isn't cleaned out for weeks. Also, parking is a bad situation here, no assigned parking. To their credit, the office people are very helpful and willing to work with you on things. The mantainance crew is incredibly fast and helpful. They show up as soon as I get off the phone and they are nice guys, not creepy at all like some places. It is a family community and crime just isn't an issue here. Overall I think it is a very nice place to live and I do recommend it.

Awesome
This place is the best place I have ever lived..the grounds are beautiful(a lake with a walking path going around it and ten acres of woods with trails to walk your dog in).
The staff has been super friendly and know me and my dog by name. Any problem I have had was taken care of immediately and I only had to ask once. No problems with parking, very safe and quiet, sometimes forget I have neighbors. The apartments themselves are very spacious and very well kept. Atruly good find for anyone

Not too bad, though we had a flood too
We lived here for two and a half years. The staff is very nice. We had flooding three times. Once a sprinkler pipe exploded. That was the worst flood we had, but luckily it occurred the night we had moved in so we were able to move all of our boxes outside and avoided a lot of damage that may have otherwise occurred. It wasn´t cold out when this happened. Another time, the pipe under the sink in the apartment above us exploded and we took in some water from that. The third time we were out of town and came back to stains on the ceiling and our bathroom carpets hanging over the shower curtain with a note that said the third floor bathroom had had a leak. We lived on the first floor so it must´ve been pretty big to have soaked us. But it was cleaned up by the time we got home, except for the re-painting of the ceiling.

Noise from people walking above was sometimes a problem, depending on who was above us. We had a corporate apartment above us so change-over was more frequent than a regular apartment. I looked at this as a bonus. I knew the people with kids wouldn´t be there for too long. It was mostly just a lot of noise and ceiling fan shaking when kids would run and jump. There was always squeaking when adults walked, but we got used to it. However, we had several guests comment on the squeaking.

We moved out-of-state and are in an apartment now that is similar to others we lived in prior to Fox Lake...you can occasionally hear your neighbors, but you can´t track their every step.

We never had any security concerns. I always felt very safe living at Fox Lakes. The staff worked hard to keep the grounds clean and homey. Parking was only a problem late at night.

Some residents would be lazy and park in the handicapped spots if a space wasn´t open near the particular building they lived in, but the staff was very good at trying to enforce the law to keep these spaces open for those who needed them. I didn´t, but a neighbor did and sometimes he did not have access to a space because others had parked there illegally. The staff worked very hard to correct this problem.

The location is great...close to many restaurants and a variety of shopping and recreation.

Overall, the staff is nice and tries to be helpful. However, the noise really was annoying. Had we not moved out of state, we still would´ve looked around for another place to live. But it´s hard to find a place in Knoxville with as spacious as the floorplan we had at Fox Lakes.

A cozy place to make home.
I am a Professional who lives at Fox Lake, and LOVE it!!! The maintenance staff is always on the ball. I can call in a work order, and my maintenace issue is fixed that day or the next.

The office staff is always SMILES and always willing to help me with what ever the issue may be. You couldn´t ask for a better group of people.

The neighbors are great. The only problem I´ve had, I once had a neighbor making lots of noise, but the office took care of that immediately.

If you want to come home to a nice quiet setting, Fox Lake is the place.

A VERY HAPPY RESIDENT

Very friendly atmosphere!
I lived at Fox Lake for serveral years. I actually purchased a home that was built by the owner of Fox Lake. I loved living at Fox Lake and love my home built by the Williams Comany (owner of Fox Lake). I still have dealings with the staff and some of the residents.

Everyone in the office is so very nice, and the maintenance is "excellent"!!!! I couldn´t imagine anyone not being happy there. They have so many amenities and the grounds are beautiful.

I give Fox Lake "2 Thumbs Up" !

A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE
I have lived at FoxLake for a number of years and have only the highest reguard for the staff, both in the office and in maintance. They have made this a home NOT just an apartment. Whenever I need anything they are wonderful and kind. I am one of the people who got hit by the water and have had nothing but help from everyone to get everything back into place. No one can ever know when things are going to happen. Nothing is forever but when you have caring people who work with you in a time of need THAT´S WHAT IMPORTANT! No one was hurt - yes there were things that were important to me that I can not replace but the fact that no one was hurt or killed is far more important. They have always been there . They are a wonderful groups of people who I feel are friends - not manitance or office people in a apartment setting.

Lots of Water...in your apartment
Thank the lord I live on the second floor. I´ve witnessed a huge flood when a pipe in the sprinkler system burst. Four apartments on the first floor were ruined. And this seems to be a repeating problem. Today alone the fire department responded to two pipe bursts. (The maintenance staff took 45 minutes to get here and this was at 4 p.m., not in the middle of the night.) In one apartment that was affected the water was so high it was coming out of the windows. Granted, it´s cold here now. But the first time I saw the same thing happen, it wasn´t cold at all. And it was colder the past two days then it was today. So I don´t think the pipes are reezing. All of the apartments affected were on the first floor, so if you move here, go high!

As to the Fox Lake staff member who wished people would report the noise problems...I don´t report the noise above me because the people are really just walking. There´s nothing teh staff could do to reduce the noise unless they were willing to put down extra layers of carpet padding or rebuild the floors. I´ve lived in a lot of apartments and this is by far teh creakiest floor I´ve ever heard. I know when the people on the third floor get up becuase the creaking wakes me up.

With the floods and the noise, I´d say the construction is shoddy. I signed a one year lease and I won´t be renewing.

It feels like a family for me and my children.
My children and I came to Fox Lake site unseen from a corporate housing set up. We were leaving a volatile and difficult situation in need of a place of refuge. What we have discovered is people who care for us and our needs. Not only a great property, but the people. We are cared for in every aspect possible. We live in one of two buildings set aside for larger dogs, hence the noise level is more in our building than the others, but certainly nothing to complain about as the structure is such that not even our downstairs neighbors hear us. Amazing with little girls!

Flood? Over exaggerated!
I have lived here for SEVERAL years, and did have water come into my apartment. As most people, WITH COMMON SENSE, know it has been below freezing for many days. We´ve had single digit temperature. As most people know, single digit weather can cause pipes to freeze and burst.

I was taken care of immediately, as were my neighbors. The apartments were not ruined, as someone has assumed. The water was extracted out of my carpet and the carpet was cleaned.

The first time this incident happened, the maintenance staff showed up immediately. The second time did take a little longer. But, when someone called, they called the after hours service, which then pages on of the maintenance techs. The staff worked really hard on all apartments affected and did a wonderful job!!!!! This is NOT a common occuarance. Things happen... But, it was not the fault of Fox Lake. They have been wonderful through all of this.

I don´t appreciate what the other person said. They were not affected by this, nor do they have all the facts of the incident. It sounds if they are an unhappy person with nothing better to do. Or, they have gotten angry with someone at Fox Lake and taking it out on them.

Once again, I do want to say how happy I´ve been at Fox Lake. It is a real home to me! I have great neighbors and the office staff at Fox Lake are terrific. You couln´t ask for better maintenance staff!!!!

Thanks!

A LONG time resident

GREAT PRICE, GREAT PROPERTY, LOCATION & GREAT PEOPLE!
Lived here for several years and loving it! Have lots of neighbors that have lived here for 6-10 years, and they wouldn´t go anywhere else. Perfect price, below their competition! Property maintained very well by the excellent maintainance staff and contractors. Office staff is exceptional and all have been here for many years. It´s great knowing the faces and names of everyone that works here. It is really like being home.

As far as noise, it´s not bad. Yes, you may here a little from time to time, but that´s a given in any apartment. And, I have lived in serveral in the past.

As far as security, the courtesy officers have always responded if I had to complain on someone or need assistance. I feel very safe here, the property is lit up very well!

I give it a thumbs up!

Previous resident... Great place to live!
I lived at Fox Lake for a couple of years. It was great. I lived on the 2nd floor and had people above and below me. We never had problem one. I lived in building #4, which is in the middle of Fox Lake Property (There is 16 buildings).

The maintenance staff was and is GREAT! They were always in my apartment the day I called in the work order or the day after. If I had an emergency after hours, they came right out.

The office staff is exceptional. All of the girls have been there for a long time. I think they know the name of every single resident!

The only reason I left, was that I purchased a home. During the time I lived there, I had gotten married and had kids.

GREAT place, price, location, staff and neighbors!!!!

a little pricy for the noise & vandelism
Fox Lake is a nice place to live. However the rent is a little high, just for the fact that you are SO close to your neighbors, I mean it looks like endless rows & rows of apartment buildings. We lived on the 1st floor & the people above us could walk softly & we could still here every step, not to mention when they waled at a regular pace, the ceiling fan & some of our things on our bookshelf would shake. Also the security is not that great. I know a person that lived here before & their car stereo was stolen 3 times & their car was also vandelised. Fox lake is a little pricey especially with things like that going on.

Great Apartments/Condos
Fox Lake is a really good place to live if you´re looking for a lot of diversity and fun. It´s a very friendly community with lots of different people. The grounds are well kept and the structures are in great condition.

Lots of Space, A Little Too Much Noise
The main problem I hae with Fox Lakes is that I can hear the people who live above me whenever they walk. And when their child runs, our ceiling fan literally shakes.

The apartments are otherwise nice. Very roomy and lots of floorplans to choose from.
