I have lived at Mountain View for several years, and have been pleased. The current Manager is outstanding and very accommodating. I have been having a maintenance issue for a couple of weeks, but these guys have been right there working to fix it. I can't say enough about the service these guys provide.

Ok, so there are some good this about mountain view. I lived there for 3 years and did not have many issues as far as maintenance goes. The grounds are well kept. However, the money they spend keeping the grounds clean could easily be used to replace the ancient appliances. 1. There is a reason they don't have a picture of the kitchen or bathroom on their website. The stove is easily from the 50's or 60's, and the dishwasher is also very old, but who knows when they were bought. It let that white residue that is impossible to get off on all of my dishes, no matter what soap i use or used it still would not come off. The cabinets are dated and worn, and the countertops are that awful spray top you see in government housing. Their money has most obviously been spent on curb appeal - keeping the grounds clean, putting new blacktop in the parking lot, and updating the pool furniture. 2. Mountain view is crawling with cockroaches. And I'm not talking the itty bitty kind. These suckers are giant. Biggest roach I have ever seen was while I was living at mountain view, at a whopping 2 inches long, and I am a fairly clean person. P.S. - the "pest control" will not get rid of them folks. 3. They are outrageously overpriced. The two bedrooms seem roomy, but its not worth it with everything else you have to deal with. I have no idea how they can get away with charging as much as they do for base rent. They might give you a seemingly good deal at first then up it when your lease ends by at the very least $100. Not to mention, the flat rate for water is ridiculous. I feel like I was paying $80 a month living with one other person and we didn't even have a washer and dryer. We had the connections, but no washer and dryer. There is no way anyone, even a family of five WITH a washer and dryer, living in these apartments, could possibly use $80 worth of water a month. Its just not possible. That being said I hope you choose another complex. Unless they drastically lower their prices or do some major renovations, they're just not worth it. Just trust me. The convenient location is not worth it. It's basically project housing with nice grounds in a convenient west knox neighborhood, but you're still paying the BS west knox price. You could probably find the same thing on middlebrook somewhere for $300 less a month.

From the moment I walked in to the clubhouse, I knew there was something different about mountain view. The people at the front were welcoming with warm friendly smiles, it smelled amazing and was decorated fabulously. You can tell they take pride in maintaining the property. The maintenance was well kept, and it was fast and easy to get to all the floor plans we wanted to view. They both were updated and beautiful. Love the touch with wood floors. The laundry is central to all the apartments. Honestly, we put in an application the same day we toured and will be moving in within the next week. They were quick and efficient in getting our paperwork completed. In addition, the price of rent for a one bedroom is extremely affordable for the area and how convenient it is to local shopping and new restaurants. Big thank you to Carolyn at the front desk for going out of her way to accommodate our needs and helping us get through our stressful time with absolutely no worries about living arrangements!

I wouldn't recommend these apartments. Personally, my townhouse is overpriced for what it is. My rent is $940 for a 2BR/1.5 BIt's very outdated. The central air/heat doesn't work well. The downstairs has to be freezing just for the upstairs to be comfortable. The cabinets are old and falling apart. The appliances are old. My dishwasher doesn't work well. I pretty much have to wash dishes before I put them in. My biggest complaint is with the owners/staff. I got a water bill as soon as I moved in. It's not through a utility department, it comes through the apartments. It's just me here most of the time. My son stays with me 2-3 nights a week. My water bill is usually $80 a month or more. Paying as much rent as I do, I thought that the apt. complex would pay for things like sewer/trash removal. They don't. PLUS, if you happen to need to pay rent past the due date, they add the water bill into your rent and charge 10% of everything. That's probably the biggest complaint I have is that they look for anyway to add a fee or charge onto something.

Since I was relocating from out of state and would not be able to see the apartment prior to move-in I wanted an apartment complex that would be willing to work with me on a long distance basis and within the time frame of when I wanted to relocate. The management here at Mountain View was easily able to do so and I am very pleased with the apartment I rented. The complex is conveniently located to shopping in the West Knoxville area as well quiet and pet friendly.

I've lived at Mountain View for almost 5 years. It's been a very nice experience overall. The staff is great, and the crew that maintains the property does really good work. I'm a big fan of the unique floor plans (I was in a 1BR 1BA unit). The amenities provided are nice, even if not particularly robust. They get the job done. Quiet neighbors. Friendly to pets. For what I needed, it's been pretty much perfect. And the location is fantastic. Far enough off the beaten path not to be too noisy, but close enough to civilization not to feel too isolated. The only reason I'm moving out is because I finally outgrew the space. Otherwise, I might have stayed much longer!

I have lived here for about five months. The staff is excellent. When I first viewed it, I was disappointed how outdated my unit was, but the staff did their best to show me that this place was worth a second look and I'm glad they did. Carolyn and Anne in the office are very nice and helpful. When I need maintenance, they are super quick to come and fix whatever it is for FREE. That was a big thing for me. The last place I lived ripped me off and charged me every time something broke or needed tuning. Love how animal friendly it is. The pool is great. Very quiet and safe. Fitness room could use some work but at least they have one. Only con is water and electric is ridiculous. I am one person and I pay $40-$50 for water and then another $100 for electric. They charge you a percentage of the entire building's water bill and this simply isn't fair because a lot of my neighbors are families (who use way more water) have washers and dryers and I do not. Other than that one specific thing, my rent is reasonable and the staff makes living here a pleasure.

I lived at Mountain View for two years before purchasing a home. The staff was always so pleasant and maintenance requests were always completed within a day. I would recommend anyone searching for a new home to live at Mountain View, the complex is beautifully maintained and managed.

Mountain View was the first property we viewed and actually we decided we did not need to look further. The management and maintenance have gone beyond what is expected. The neighbors have reached out to us and welcomed us to our home. It is time for us to think about signing our lease for the 2d year and after weighing all pros and cons, we are where we want to be and will be staying for another year. Thank You for everything Danny and Ken

I have lived here for roughly 6 months and I love it here! Staff and maintenance are great! Apartments are very nice inside and out! I feel like they care about me and any concerns I or my roommate may have. I would absolutely recommend these to anybody. Anne, Kelley & Jeff are especially helpful with anything! Great atmosphere all year and I plan to stay here for several years to come!

I ended up finding this gem of an apartment community because I needed to find a place that would take my large dog breed, I am so glad I found it because they are some of the nicest apartments that I have seen in the Knoxville area, and you could not ask for a better management and maintenance team. Inside the units are very spacious and all of the appliance work amazingly been here a year only ever had one thing that needed repaired. In that one instance of needing maintenance they had an amazing response time, I had a tech in my apartment fixing the problem in under 10 minutes and he was finished up and gone in the next 20 very professional and courteous. I have had literally zero complaints about anything since I have moved in here it is a wonderful place to live.

I've lived here since July 2014. I have been treated extremely well. The staff is courteous and very helpful. Anne Crawford , Kellie Brownlee and the staff have made my stay here very enjoyable. There is no perfect place to live but this is very close. I'm a review person and what I research and read will determine if I consider a business, restaurant, etc. The neighbors are very friendly and nice. What do I like living here you ask? It's quiet, clean and peaceful. When I need some kind of service or maintenance performed, it's completed normally the next day. This past February, it snowed several times (which is very unusual for Knoxville) Jeff and Rodney (maintenance crew) were up early shoveling the sidewalks to ensure the residents had a "safe" path from the apartment building to their vehicles. I've never had a place do that before. If you're looking for a place to stay, Mountain View is the place. You won't be disappointed!!

This is a GREAT place to live! I have lived in various apartments, in various locations throughout Knoxville & this is my favorite! It is in a great location...close to restaurants, shopping malls, parks, schools, etc. It is in one of the BEST school districts in Knox County for ALL grades K-12. AL Lotts - Elementary (K-5th), West Valley - Middle School (6th-8th) & Bearden - High School (9th-12th). I woud definitely recommend living here!

Water was bad enough when it was $40 for a $639 one bedroom apartment (without a clothes washer). They switched to a new billing company and now, THE AVERAGE WATER BILL IS $55 - $65 PER MONTH FOR A 750 SQUARE FOOT ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT!!!!!! This is outrageous. You might pay that much (maybe $20 more) living in a HOUSE. Yeah, your budget for an apartment might be $699 for rent. But be prepared to spend about $60 more a month in water and $100 more a month for electric. The apartments aren't well insulated and the sad truth is that they are now asking WAY more for these apartments than they're worth. Would you pay $700 ($760 with water) for a one bedroom apartment with a stove from the 1970's (not an exaggeration)? This company needs to wake the heck up and see that they're going to lose tenants real fast if they don't start asking realistic prices here. I'm guessing they already are. PROS: Staff is nice.. property grounds are beautiful..pool is great.. CONS: We've had our car broken into.. rent increased significantly.. fitness room is lacking.. a lot of the people with dogs can't control them or their barking.. the laundry facility needs new machines BADLY Noise is ok.. parking is ok.. but seriously, if you're looking for a $700-$800 apartment, you're better off doing a bit more research before checking this place out.

When you first look at Mountain View you will notice a decent sized outdated apartment. The grounds around the complex are well kept (expect to see and hear the lawn crew at least twice a week no seriously you will hear them trust me.) and they have nice walk ways around the complex that go to the laundry, pool, and tennis courts. ( does anyone still play tennis?) The complex was built around the 1970s so a lot of the construction is not up to par with today's newer apartments. The windows and insulation let massive amounts of air out causing heating and cooling issues. (Electricity bills will be higher then normal count on it) Appliances are extremely outdated in fact some of the appliances don't match they seem to be on the fix as we go plan not the get what you pay for plan. during the winter expect to run your water bill up at your expense to keep your water lines from freezing shut. generally I don't go out of my way to suggest apartments to people but if you are lonely and don't have many if any friends in the area consider mountain view your apartment of choice because you will find tons of close friends that will watch television with you, eat with you, take showers with you and even sometimes help you work one up in the bathroom. Yup I bet your onto it this place has roaches and lot of them spiders too and yes they will make themselves at home among your things they are even loyal they'll stay with you for the long haul. The parking seems adequate but don't worry your cars not safe it will be broken into by the friendly neighborhood thieves. all in all the experience was just made worse as not only did all these things go on but now they want to charge more for the rent.

When I first moved to these apartments, they were okay. Nothing special...extremely outdated but in a convenient location & the staff seemed friendly enough. Since that time, everything has gone downhill really really quickly. The apartments have horrible insulation. Electric bills are outrageous. Water & trash used to be included in the rent. Since I moved in, not only has the rent increased every single year, but I am now charged for water & trash pickup. There are bugs everywhere. Allegedly, Orkin services the apartments, but the infestations continue, despite multiple calls to the office. My car has been broken into/vandalized on several occasions despite the fact that they claim to have security that drives around. It's a relatively small complex. If security drove around, as we are told they do, my car could not have been broken into as many times as it has. We had hail storms several years ago & the damage to the buildings has still not been repaired. The appliances are so outdated, that they are borderline unsafe. If your heat or air goes out (and believe me, they WILL go out), they will continue to try to make quick fixes instead of actually making it work properly. I cannot, in good faith, recommend these apartments to anyone. They're really awful.

I have been living here for about 3 years. I have nothing but positive things to say. The management and maintenance staff resolve issues quickly - though there haven't been but a few since I moved in. The grounds are clean, the laundry facility is nice, and you are made to feel appreciated as a tenant. And you simply can't beat the convenience of the location. Northshore / Pellissippi right down the road, Kingston Pike / Cedar Bluff / I40 right up the road. Shopping is mere minutes away. There are going to be issues no matter where you live. Expect that. The key is how the issues are resolved. The maintenance guys were very quick to repair my refrigerator last year, and my heat was fixed in a matter of hours when I called it in on the first cold day of Fall. I highly recommend Mountainview. Otherwise, I would have moved 2 years ago.

Have been living in Mountain View for just under a year, and just resigned another 1 year lease. Very nice complex, excellent grounds, not at all what you typically visualize when you hear 'apartment complex', personally I think 'community' would be a more apt term. I expect to be here for quite some time. When you first move in you'll think that you have no neighbors; it's seriously that quiet. There is very little to no noise transfer through the walls, ceiling, or floor, you can't hear anyone else most of the time. The only real noise you get is through the windows and door, but even that is minimal. The layout of the one bedroom apartments is something different than you normally see, it's very open and surprisingly functional, in my opinion. Nice balconies, open passthrough counter from the kitchen to the dining room, living rooms are spacious, walk in closet in the bedroom, as well as two other closets (plus a maintenance closet that houses the water heater and air handler). Depends on what building you're in, parking can either be rather tight (buildings 21-40 and 81-100) or extremely open (1-20, 41-60, 61-80, and A/B/C/D). In the latter buildings, there are always many open spots, never a parking issue. It's nice being able to park both of my vehicles here without being in anyone else's way, and parking in the same spot every day (not assigned, just that many extra spots). Relatively large laundry room ('clothes care center') with 7 or 8 each washers and dryers (decent pricing), with rolls of quarters available at the leasing office. Located right next to the pool, so you could hang out there while waiting for your loads to be done. The leasing office also houses a workout center and the mailboxes, along with a hose freely available that you can use to wash your vehicle. The staff is very friendly and courteous, and will do everything they can to help you. Have always been greeted and handled well by Oliver, Anne, and Kelly in the leasing office. Maintenance requests are handled very well, even though I've only had to make 2 requests in the year I've been here (slight leak from toilet tank-bowl gasket when I first moved in and AC not cooling very well in the middle of summer), they've both been handled within a day and fixed perfectly the first time. A nice feature is you can put in maintenance requests online, and be notified when they're completed by email or text message. Rent is a bit more expensive than other local apartments, but I find it well worth it to come home to a nice quiet environment. Can also pay online, which is very convenient. Water is flat rate based on apartment layout, and is priced decently at best. Comcast and AT&T are the primary service providers, and LCUB covers electric. Renter's insurance is a requirement of the lease, but they have very good rates through one of their partners. Long review short (only intended to write a couple sentences to begin with, my keyboard got away from me), Mountain View is an excellent place to live if you can afford to spend a bit more in rent for a much better rental experience. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet 1 or 2 bedroom apartment or townhouse in Knoxville.

Great apartment complex!!! Amazing location! Close enough to restaurants and the mall yet far enough away from traffic noise. Staff is wonderful. Maintenance always respond on time and courteously. As far as the apartment itself, they have many floor plans to choose from as well as townhouses

My truck was broken into twice, I had a 1k bill when I moved out from various things that were supposedly broken, I wouldn't recommend it considering it takes a Miracle to even break your lease after it's actually up. Bad business here. Other than that it was great..

I have lived here for several months now and this place is great. This is a quiet, friendly neighborhood that I am happy to have moved to. The units have older appliances but they are clean and functional. The pool has been fixed and re-opened since the 31st. I am completely satisfied living here as I was at Forest Ridge but the 1 bedroom rent is more reasonable here. I have the same bug problems here that I had there. Welcome to East TN. I like the management here and Jeff does a great job with the maintenance. There are issues that you will find at any apartment complex but I would recommend anyone who is considering moving to Mountain View to go ahead and do so.
